  1. Oh hell time flies, it feels like I wrote the 20th bday thread not so long ago, but turns out if was before the Covid crisis... It's still accurate. What more is there to say to that? The is not the most active community but it should stay online as it contains a goldmine of information about Goatrance and Psytrance. BTW for those who don't know from the FB post, Psynews was moved to a brand new server one month ago, it feel so much faster now. Psynews certainly changed our lives. It changed mine big time, I keep realizing it. It was a big launchpad for several projects (Suntrip, Filteria...) It's like a fabric of wonderful people all around the world. Mind you, I'm even going to finally meet @Jon Cocco in the flesh next summer as he invited me to his place in the USA. Psynews keeps amazing me with everything it helped creating or enabled along the years. For those who need some more insights about this community, I still have this other thread in store HAPPY BIRTHDAY !

  2. RA - To Sirius - 3CD Remastered Reissue This month marks the 25th anniversary of one of the most iconic and timeless albums in the history of Goa Trance: "To Sirius" by the legendary Norwegian act RA. To commemorate this milestone, DAT Universe has worked tirelessly behind the scenes with the band’s visionary founders, Christer Borge-Lunde and Lars W. Lind, to curate an extraordinary triple-CD reissue—a tribute that not only honours this revered masterpiece but also cements RA’s legacy in the pantheon of the genre. More than a mere celebration of their magnum opus, this ambitious project seeks to transcend nostalgia, expanding the reissue into the ultimate anthology, gathering the finest compositions ever crafted by the duo during the height of their creative journey. The painstaking process of meticulously digitizing the band’s priceless DAT tapes and unearthing their long-lost old archives was a labour of love spanning several years. The result is a captivating odyssey through RA’s early foray into Goa Trance, and a definitive panorama of their artistic evolution before their reformation in 2006. Originally released in 2000 by the Taiwanese label Blue Moon Productions, and reissued in 2001 by Nova Tekk, "To Sirius" emerged like a celestial anomaly in the Psychedelic Trance scene—a luminous UFO soaring above a landscape increasingly dominated by dark minimalist and techno-infused influences. Its arrival was nothing short of a revelation, conveying a sonic manifesto that rekindled the genre’s cosmic soul and melodic grandeur. RA’s seminal masterpiece encapsulates all the quintessential elements that defined the golden era of Goa Trance, seamlessly intertwining intricate melodies, ethereal atmospheres, and hypnotic rhythms. Yet, "To Sirius" stands as a bold and visionary endeavour—an enthralling alchemy of spiritual sounds that transcend the boundaries of trance. With its cutting-edge 3D sound design and futuristic precision, the album not only redefined the genre but also reignited a glimmer of hope for its resurgence at the dawn of the new millennium. The first disc presents a remastered version of the album staying true to its original essence while elevating it to new heights—each track now resonates with greater depth, richness and balance than ever before. For the first time ever, listeners will also experience the complete, unabridged version of "Astral Flight", restored after being truncated in the original release. The second disc brings together all previously released vinyl and compilation tracks produced in the 90s, alongside a trove of unreleased gems composed between 1997 and 1999—hidden treasures that never made the album’s final cut. These long-forgotten pieces, exhumed from the band’s secret vaults, have now been reinstated into the original work, breathing new life into this reissue—a true "rebirth". This collection also features a miraculous discovery: the medley "Mooncake – Tribes Of The Moon", born from RA’s inspired collaboration with Kerry Palmer and Graham Franklin of Dimension 5. The final disc unveils the finest previously unreleased tracks from the pivotal years leading up to the creation of "To Sirius" (1995-1996)—a mesmerizing journey through the duo’s formative era, where raw creativity and fearless experimentation forged their unmistakable sound signature. Spanning an eclectic range of tempos and styles, these early productions stand as vibrant testaments to the artistic evolution of a band destined to etch its singular legacy into music history. This reissue also includes a richly detailed booklet chronicling the history of RA, complete with in-depth liner notes from the duo. It offers a rare glimpse into the equipment they used, along with long-kept secrets revealed for the first time—including the origin of the "RA" alias and the hidden meaning behind the "To Sirius" album title. With this monumental reissue, "To Sirius" is reborn—a timeless masterpiece once again illuminating the vast cosmos of Goa Trance. 4. Hi! I'm back with a new track! (which is technically not actually new, as it's based on something I started working on in 2021... whatever!) Laser-filled nitzhogoa! With a very slow BPM! (150 BPM, very slow indeed, lol! Most of the Nitzho I'm working on is at 155+ BPM) I love you Psytrance people and I'm in a good and very altruistic mood right now, so I wish you a lot of happiness in your life! ❤️ ^-^ (Especially those who listen to this track! :p) Hyper Power of Outer Space! EPIC (It's not me on the cover art!)

  9. Background: I have never been a Filteria fan. When he was a new artist I assumed it was kind of new school stuff but when I read all the amazing revews here from Goa fans and the comparisons to Pleiadians, I tried a couple times to listen to Sky Input, but I had a similar reaction to most of the other handful of negative reviewers: there are good Goa sounds and melodies but once the tracks get going it becomes a sort of wall of monoculture, like, I love chocolate cake but I don't want every space in my fridge and cupboards squashed full of only chocolate cake. (I should also mention incidentally that IFO is not one of my most favorite albums, though I do like it and listen to it quite a lot. I feel it has more color than Sky Input). I read that Daze of Our Lives is considered by many an improvement on the earlier albums so I have given it my first couple of listens. I am trying to let go of my biases, but that is hard to do, but I do need to say that the best bits of this album are really good and there are certainly moments where there is a really interesitng and unique sound. For me the really good bits are when he goes more ambient / downtempo and lets the music breathe a little. My favorites are the first and last tracks. I think he should try a whole album of downtempo. The other stuff, I like it OK, and I will give it more listens. It's technically good; the melodies are good; the effects are really good, but I honestly have to say that for most of it I don't get that really magic feeling that I get with older Goa or something like RA. It is hard to put my finger on it and it may be down to preconceptions. It might be something to do with the mastering or just Filteria sliding back into his tendencies for a relentlessly constant level of energy in a track. There are colorful melodies and organic effects yet many of the tracks for me feel a little on the flatter, less colorful, more homogenous kind of side in terms of their overall impression. This is just my subjective personal preference. I should mention this album does have quite a few Posfordlike elements that are done quite well, the warping chords and bright arpeggios. He has also nailed the weird, stuttery vocal effects although I do wonder if these were verging on being over-used here, though that's a minor quibble. This is no Hallucinogen 3 for me though, unfortunately. I award that title to Artha's incredible Influencing Dreams. I give tracks 1 and 9 9/10. The rest, I would have to give it more listens to really rank it fairly but my current feeling is if I was just rating the technical achievement it would probably be about 7 or 8/10 but in terms of my own enjoyment, 6/10. So for the whole album: 7/10.

  11. ... one of the best decisions of my life. I used to read this forum like it was a bible when I was 20ish. 15 years later I'm organizing parties in Finland and I play Goa whenever I get the chance. Fullon is SO much easier to mix, but making 1 hour to 1.5 hour sets of goatrance is like finding the genre all over again. Every single time. It feels like I'm creating stories whenever I make my sets. Every single track brings something new, they tell stories that have never been heard, they push sounds and melodies that never been explored before. They intricately have a soul that trancends the life we are so accustomed to. Sometimes it takes 10 hours of goddamn hard work to make just over an hour of goatrance to flow together (even with my insanely vast knowledge of the genre!), but every - damn - time, it's totally worth it. There's like 5 people in Finland putting together goatrance sets during the year and it's a total pleasure being one the very few going against the mainstream of hitech, fullon, forest (that has nothing to do with forest, the fuck is wrong with that genre?) and other minimal psytech types of sounds. Last weekend I had the upmost privledge being able to deliver goatrance that transforms from 140bpm danceable super rhymtic and hypnotic goatrance (M-Run, Radical Distortion) to 156bpm soft nitzhogoa (Goalien & Agneton) and everyone who was in the front row was banging their heads off!!! I seriously could not have believed I could bring these sounds to peoples ears that have never heard them - and get them to enjoy it! This music literally was a saving grace for me. I used to be a nobody. Goatrance was something I consumed alone, skateboarding, hanging around on forums. I still kinda am a nobody, but goatrance made me a person who gives people experiences they never experienced before - I'd imagine that counts for something more than just being an npc. Goatrance, as a genre, is a goddamn joy. The melodies, the stories. People who make, play and consume goa, I've found, are the best type of people. The one's that have the capacity to ask more, the one's that think. The one's that care. Last weekend I had an older couple come up to me that my set from the weekend before was the best.. I was not sure what I heard so I asked them "this one, or the other one?", they answered "BOTH". ❤

He is most famous as Elysium, though he has a variety of other monikers. Andersen made some of the greatest Goa tracks ever in the 90s with a unique mellow, tribal, and hypnotic style. One of my personal favourites is the Sheyba ep on Flying Rhino from 1995: Who can forget the wolf howls in "Ancient Lands" which take the listener deep into the ancestral past. Other notable releases include Spiritual's "Ride the Snake", Kaaya's "Ormazd", Kailash's "Higher", and the two Elyzium albums Dance for the Celestial Beings (1995) and Celestial Sounds and Neurotic Tribal Beats (1997). Evocative, storytelling stuff, more for the inner journey than for 'aving it on the dancefloor, though plenty potent on the dancefloor too. Rather than give a track by track formalist description, I want to try to sum up Andersen's artistic goal and the feel of his tunes, with which I'm sure many of you are familiar. Perhaps the most important thing then is to point out that if you are a fan of his work, as I am, then this is a must. Andersen has not changed his style. This is not to say that he is stuck or lacks variety or experiment or is narrow, but he simply has his own unique style that is instantly recognisable. And what a style it is - poised hovering in the liminal zone between the dancefloor and the chill out area with bpms seldom getting up into the 140s, its distinctive feature is hypnosis. In a sense, then, his music is the very essence of trance, which is a hypnotic state, a state of immersion if you will. There's a deep calm in his music, that is quite different to the ecstatic excitement, even freneticism, of a lot of trance and psytrance. It is more of a highlands plateau than the peaks and valleys of psytrance. It is likely that the Dionysian among us will not like this calm and will find this album boring. If you want high drama, crushing rhythms, major chords, frenzied build-ups, hardcore blastoff, then look elsewhere. For those who can enter this calm state, it provides the meditative bliss of relaxation and acceptance. This music creates the atmosphere in which it is best appreciated. Here are the words of the man himself: "I wanted to return to the way I think trance should be like. To me, trance is a slowly building journey on the dance floor by its hypnotizing patterns and deep soundscapes. Repetitively rhythmic to put you in a state of trance." Andersen emphasises his return to proto-Goa, which was slower and lacked the build-ups and galloping horse basslines of post-millenial psytrance. What I most appreciate about this relaxation is that it tends to grant the space for the mind to expand into fantasy - it is quite easy to be swept to far-off lands with these tunes. This does not mean that Vaporized lacks intensity. Intensity may be provided by tribal vibes through vocals, samples, percussion. Whilst I do miss the tribal vibes a bit on this latest album, they are still there in the background. Intensity is also provided by the microdynamics of texture and small changes. A master of texture, Andersen was always good at making sounds that ranged from silken smooth to ragged ripping. Many of his sounds, showcased by the relatively constant rotating polyrhythms in the background have more pixels per nanosecond than there are motes of dust in the Sahara (though you will need a good hifi to hear this). Part of the sonic magic is the recordings and masterings: no compression wars here and sounds have space to breathe, do not blur together, dynamics are free. I checked out my vinyl and cds and the only information on the mastering I could find was "Prodam" and "Podam" - I searched but nothing came up. This is also true of this new work, which is also well produced. This high quality recording and mastering pays off in psychoactive sound with good micro as well as macro dynamics. This is crucial to Andersen because he is very good at small changes, subtle shifts of delicate percussion, unexpected time wobbles - small changes amidst heavy repetition that can tug at your ear, especially when you are in the calm and receptive state of trance. There, in a nutshell, I think you have the spirit of Elysium/Vaporized: hypnotic trance. It is relatively introspective stuff that eschews drama, performativity, grandiosity, hysteria, going instead for meditative calm. This, of course, does not mean that the artist is always so calm himself. Hypnosis is also invariably haunted by the image of the zombie: who is controlling the hypnotised is the question that typically arises. Is it a corporate AI? Perhaps it is the Soviet nostalgia hackers? No, it is definitely the aliens described by Cixin Liu. Whether you are concerned about being hypnotised or not, the questions that have historically accompanied the inner path do flutter about this introspective art. Of course, this means that this is more home music than for the main floor. If hypnotic trance sounds appealing to you, then you won't do better than this excellent album and the stunning back catalogue behind it. ~*~

  17. I have to admit, I'm a bit hesitant to upload this because I really don't want to step on any toes. However, I feel like it's time we talked about something that's been on my mind and on the minds of many others. Has Psytrance lost its edge? Has it become a bit too formulaic? A lot of the tracks I come across these days seem to follow the same set of rules—using similar sounds and carrying the same general vibe. Many of my friends who are DJs and producers—very active in the Psytrance community—have shared similar concerns but often choose not to speak up to avoid any negative backlash. Since I'm no longer reliant on the scene for my livelihood, I feel it's important to bring this conversation forward. See how general interest in Psytrance has declined: https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&q=psytrance,psy trance,psy-trance&hl=en-GB In this video, I'm revisit some tracks from some of the most innovative Psytrance artists from the early days, before 2000, and explore how we've moved from a musically diverse scene to one that today sounds remarkably consistent. While this is all highly subjective and there are certainly exceptions, I think we need to discuss the current state of Psy-trance. Please leave your comments, let's dive into this together! 18. Please keep it going. As we get older other things take up our time but sometimes we also end up with more time. I'd been reading the site occasionally for many years but only signed up two years ago and am visiting much more often now and writing posts. I much prefer old style forums and if you ended this site the members would disperse onto multiple sites making a small community even smaller. I also love the feeling of timelessness this site invokes. People happily continue discussions inside threads that had been dormant for many years. It's trippy. Your average web surfer would get confused by that! The threads remain timeless because the great music is timeless. Thanks for all your hard work keeping the site running.

  23. ... sorry ... I was wrong. In many points. But I am now checking back in, wiser and with a different mindset: I can write this now because I do NOT have to go to work tomorrow. I took a Hiatus for two months. Much needed, given what recently happened. Unfortunately my dad did at the end - very recently - not make it ... he's no longer with us. But at least he held on pretty long - with a clear mind. Meaning he fully realized that he became grandpa and such. My last words to him were that he'd get a medal if he made it out of the hospital again - but if not, I forgive him too. I do. My daugher is okay, but it was no smooth road. Many obstacles in my private life, some nervous physicans mentioning that the development is a bit late -- I do not care, as long as we have to see the hospital only every few weeks that's fine. They are not too nervous, but they kept us ever cautious ... maybe it's an usual practice. I have no experience with this before, I can only guess and my gut feeling is "moderately positive". Work was devastatingly stressful for me, company taken over, new things to do on top of the usual ... and I had to take time off in the end, which is where I am now. All the stuff was getting to my health and I am not fully recovered, but it's looking better. Unfortunately this means I have to rethink my life right now and my spending habits - but I am living in a reduced compound now, space-wise, and we have to sort out some stuff anyways. I will be able to do this bit by bit for the next weeks... I will not be too euproric about anything I can do on this forum in the future, I have learned that. But I will be able to support it again, as it is now or as it might go on Will post again (soon this time ) Cheers

  25. @acid being Absolutely love this track. Thank you! What a voyage. I feel like with slow goa or trance you can really enjoy the details and get carried somewhere, plus it works really well in any dancefloor, while with goa in general being faster it's only for a very specific type of crowd, and yeah....Anxiety plays a big factor... I'm mostly looking for 90s stuffs only because they are more likely to be on Vinyl rather than digital, no other reason in particualr @Prana4ever I think you hit the nail! Very interesting track this one from Tim Schuldt, it's as if GOA and EBM had a baby. Crazy... The other tracks are good too! I think the best way to put it is what I'm looking for are other generes heavly influenced by goa or trance...or the other way around. Something that is Goa but not quite, not sure if that makes sense. @DoktorG I like these, but I'm also looking for something that I can propone to a crowd and make them sweat, if that makes any sense But yeah, that Encens - Morphic Resonance its wonderful Another good example is Andreas Kruger (Der Dritte Raum - DR.DNA) Some of his 90s work is quite nice and clearly has a goa-trance influence of some sort.

  30. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new release freshly baked and cooked: Globox's second album, Bitrot! Filled with amazing floor-fillers, please listen for yourself and read the story behind the album, which was released by a miracle, as the tracks were lost but rescued! Promotional text: Unreleased Goa Records is very proud to unleash the second full-length album by Globox, named Bitrot. The name of the album was chosen because the tracks released here come from the exported demo files and were the only surviving copies of tracks that were lost after a hard drive crash. Globox is a talented musician from Belgium. known offstage as Seppe Cruysberghs, hails from Leuven and has been producing Goa Trance since 2017. A fan of the 90s old-school sound, Seppe’s music embodies the raw energy and nostalgia of Goa’s early days. “When I hear Goa Trance, I want to picture an old Atari and a bunch of synths and sequencers running! That’s why I try to keep my sound close to the vibe of the 90s, rather than the polished Goa Trance of today,” he explains. His journey into Goa Trance began in 2011 when friends introduced him to the genre at a local party in Leuven. Since then, he’s immersed himself in the classics, inspired by artists like Astral Projection and the iconic compilation Goa-Head Vol. 2, which he listened to endlessly in his car. Total Eclipse’s Violent Relaxation remains one of his favourite albums, while artists like Shakta have influenced his playful, bouncy style. Other key inspirations include Tandu, Denshi Danshi, Inscape, Technossomy, Phreaky, and the Green Nuns of the Revolution. Seppe also finds inspiration beyond Goa Trance, in genres as diverse as punk, new wave, and even Blur, his all-time favourite band. Although he has some hardware like a Behringer 303 and a TRS9 drum machine, all of Seppe’s tracks were crafted entirely with software due to space constraints. He believes software can capture the vibe of vintage analogue gear and spends time hunting for software versions of classic synths from Goa’s golden era. He jokes that if he ever sets up a proper studio, he might finally use his Atari 1040 ST and Akai sampler—just to experience the workflow of Goa’s original pioneers. For Seppe, making Goa Trance is about more than sound; it’s about capturing a nostalgic spirit that transports listeners to a world of retro beats and underground rhythms. With this album, Globox reminds fans to make backups. For this special release, we’re offering the music on CD, as well as through digital download and streaming platforms. 38. ah metal i wrote for several magazines (in dutch) for 15 years, wrote more than 1500 album reviews, visited a lot of concerts and did interviews with all the big bands.....metal always been part of my life, besides goa trance next month i'm going to see napalm death again, with pig destroyer, wormrot en primitive man i like 90's metal the most because of the fact that i like extreme metal the most: legendary death, black and doom bands made excellent albums that decade just as goa trance, for me, the 90's were the best period for metal with the most exciting music in the 80's you did have legendary thrash acts and early death metal albums, but the 90's DAMN three exemples of excellent metal albums, a death metal album, a black metal album and a doom classic Death - Human Satyricon - Volcano My Dying Bride - Turn Loose The Swans

  39. Man, I haven't logged in months and the very first topic that I see is EP stating he's leaving the scene. It's like I've been transported back to 2003. Or 2005. Or 2008. Or every year cause that's what EP does. Biggest drama queen of our scene.

  40. Ok? How does composing / producing relate to politics? If you're out of steam or feel burned out, just say so, it's fine. I don't buy this "oh y'all are just sticking your head in the sand, so how about I stop making music to show how upset I am with you.." Thanks, Mom, I guess.

  43. Nexus 6 and Pure Reality are timeless. I think Pure Analog and Protoculture's Refractions basically defined the sound of morning/melodic fullon for the whole decade. My favourite take on remixing Nexus 6 and Pure Reality

  44. Happy to read 'negative' critics too and i exactly know what you think! But i already stated that i was focused towards modern sound. I didn't want to recycle old sound so i choosed something 'new', something you don't have much in Goa these days - clean production. Just like Morphic Resonance leaves his signature trough darkish and crazy sounds, Crossing Mind trough melancholic melodies, mine signature is 'my production'. But when you compare bass or melodies to rest of Goa trance is not much different, it's just more EQed, compressed and sidechined - modern As you noted i need music theory and yes i have 0, everything i make i make by ear and i was never attracted to study it while im 'addicted' to mixing. To be honest i had total freedom while making it and i am super happy because that. I expressed myself at present time and there is nothing better than that - full freedom and no rules or limitations for your creations. Every single little sound and noise was by my wish. And that's my vision of Goa trance these day. These days i got so many msgs, hourly and most of them are about modern sound. People are happy that they have 'compromise' between old and new sound. And yes, dancefloor exploding non stop and i was shocked to see that, i didn't expected such thing. I am trully happy because all of this but i am really sorry you are disapointed. As they say, you can't satisfy everyone Hopefuly you will enjoy some future releases, there will be few more old sounding tracks. Thank you for feedback!

  45. This is the 9th album released under the name Entheogenic. As some of you may have noticed, I really enjoy me some Entheogenic. Each album has had something special within them for me to discover and A Singularity Encoded is no different. This album continues the trend of the last several Entheogenic albums including more vocals and acoustic guitars than albums of old. What is immediately noticeable to me however, is the unique songwriting on display here. There is something less formulaic, less switching back and forth between repeating sections that sometimes make the other albums hard to listen through all the way. This was something I definitely heard in Enthymesis and I am glad it has become a trend. In some strange way, that I believe to be intentional though not at all obvious, is the way the album repeats certain phrases. Pieces including a descending bass line and vocal lines from the opening track Oak Seers, play in Hamra Dum (in a different tempo) and Asherah (harmonized against completely different melodies). Various dub sections pop in and out of Star Wisdom of Bon, Asherah, and the closing track Genuine Abstract. Finally, Star Wisdom of Bon starts off in 5/4 just to mix things up. I have often felt that previous albums from Entheogenic have had a very "loose" mix to them. I feel there are tighter, more thought out effects and sonic landscapes to this album. I can tell a lot of time, thought, and dedication was put into this album carefully constructing it. Overall I think A Singularity Encoded is one of the best Entheogenic albums to date and never feels like a quickly thrown together palette of similar effects and dull songwriting. A Singularity Encoded is imaginative, bittersweet, and balanced. If you are looking for a nice, downtempo, yet highly psychedelic album, this is for you. If you like Entheogenic, you should probably listen to this album and give it a shot. https://entheogenic-usr.bandcamp.com/album/a-singularity-encoded http://www.entheogenic.net/index.html

  46. of course it was more work back then, but i rather appreciate the finished piece of music than the amount of work put into it. no sane person is going to say "lame, he's modded his 303 with a midi input and doesn't use the built in sequencer that's a pain in the ass to work with". and i don't care about how many microedits some psycore artist did to achieve his fx, i still don't like the music. my opinion depends on how it sounds.

  47. Hello my good Sir ! First of all, it is obvious that you need some hugs. Here is a picture of some kitties. I sincerely hope that it'll make you feel cheerrier. Now, you do have a committed a monstruous sin toward the Goa God ! You have lacked some faith ! May you be forgiven, o fool ! On a more serious basis, you base your thinking over a misconception. That conception is that this scene is only about old guys who gigged in the 90's, and that Newschool producers are all frustrated by that time. That is wrong. We are quite a few to be young here. In the scene, we have many people that are born between 1990 and 1995, and that haven't known the Golden days (I myself am 22). This scene is younger that you think. Of course there is ! You don't know this scene enough obviously. The Neo Goa scene is at the moment is the most creative niche within Psytrance these days. There are many examples, but i'll just tell you to listen to Kolovrat by Lunar Dawn. Give it a head, and you'll see how modern and creative they are. Also, I will confess something. I don't really dig Oldschool Goa. I love Newschool. It's more modern, less dusty, and in my view, Neo Goa is not the attempt to resurrect an old corpse, it is the ultimate developpement of modern psytrance. It's something fresh that brings more magic to the scene, and that gets more and more trendy. So, no obsession with Oldschool. Also, some artists do produce Oldschool style. They do it very well. Space Tribe and Dickster - Alien Sex Fiend OOOD Astral Projection - Mugen remix KURO, Masa, Matsuri The Muses Rapt - Human More generally, there's nothing wrong with keeping coming again and again to Oldschool. It's just like metal and rock music. There are classics that people never get tired to listen. Cheers !

  48. I think this is a highly personal opinion... Chasing our youth? Well, to some extend if you are 30+ there is some form of nostalgia in your mind... but don't let that nostalgia close your mind! This will result in the typical blatant complaining about the good old times... I try to stay as open minded as possible and I am enjoying the music last 3 years much more as the 10 years before that! What sound dull or copying for you, can sound blisfull and original for others... I think lots of modern musicians managed to capture the vibe of the 90s and brought it to another level! Which was my dream when I was stuck in 2003 with progressive/Full On on EVERY party. I started partying in the 90s, and still, my best party/music experience ever was Samothraki of course and also Goa Balkan Fanatics last year... I felt 20, and had the shivers the whole time, danced untill I couldn't walk anymore! So I disagree, but hey, that's just my opinion

  49. Seems like Draeke covered most of my thoughts. But anyway, here it comes anyway: Dear on10 I have no idea of who you are, how long you have listened to psychedelic trance or how long you have been ”in the scene”, but I felt like explaining a couple of things after reading your review. It’s not meant to make any conflict or bad feelings, just a try for an explanation, because it seems to me like there are a few things you haven’t realized/understood in this case. First of all, the music. For those of us who have followed the trance scene from the early beginning, we know where it comes from. We know who the pioneers were who started all this. Everything that came after this, you can thank these pioneers for. It has grown naturally from what they started, long before everybody could make a trance track in one day. These were true artists creating something new, never done before, and creating a classic trance track wasn’t done in one day back then…. Back then, there wasn’t any clear difference between the various categories of trance. All these terms, such as hard trance, full on, progressive, Goa etc. came later… Blue Planet Corporation was one of these pioneers and one of the first ones to explore psychedelic elements in hypnotic trance music. Endless of artists after him picked up inspiration from his music. These tracks are extremely hard to find today. You have to be rich to get hold of any of the vinyl releases on UFK. Unlike you, there are a lot of people out there who where there in the early beginning, and yes, we have nostalgic memories from back then. Many of these people also have a nostalgic feeling about having the physical copy in their position. We are not grown up with finding everything on the net… For us, the early trance from the pioneers, such as BPC, is important musical history! Our way of documenting musical history for the future, is by releasing something like this. Like a history book you can find in the library, this album is a history, an important history that means a lot to many of us, that we document by creating this release for those who cares (where it all started, where it comes from, how it sounded back then etc.). Which brings me over to another point I wanted to tell you about regarding your review; Respect is one of the words that often come to mind when I think about the trance scene. Respect other human beings, the people that you celebrate life together with, the celebration of trance and dance. One of the important words in the scene of peace, love, unity and respect. This is something that used to be very important in the scene from the beginning and many years after it all started. This might have faded a bit away by the years. The entire scene has changed drastically since the 90s, and ended up obviously pretty far away from how it used to be. Everybody is offcourse entitled to have their own taste in music. No one is forcing you to like this peace of history, but the word respect for other human beings is something I strongly think should remain in the scene, even though I don’t personally participate in the scene much anymore. Several of the sentences and words you use in your review totally show that you have missed some important factors in the scene. Telling people to pirate download this music is just one example where you obviously pay no attention to my words above, P.L.U.R., the main key in the trance scene. Writing something like that has nothing to do in a music review, simple as that. It’s no problem for any of us that you dislike the beginning of psychedelic trance, but when you write a review, I would suggest to check some background information before writing insulting, punching words to people who use a lot of their money, time and energy to create a piece of musical history for the generations to come. Thinking that this project will lead to extra income is as far away from the truth as it can possibly get. Gabriel who made the music and Draeke who released it on his important history learning label is true music lovers who NEVER had money in their mind when deciding to release it! So, on10. I have to underline that I don’t write all this to insult, create harm or any kind of conflict. I wrote this to you because I hope you will realize a bit more why projects like this are being done and that you maybe could think twice next time you want to write a review. So let’s keep it a bit friendly around here, write our opinions without insulting and hurting each other. And hands up to all of you who understand what it’s all about. Never forget the 90’s and where you came from. PKS
