Y-Salem OMG!

Intriguing. Do You Believe is my favorite X-dream track, does not deserve a remix IMO but we will see. Should be a very varied album which is good, Atmos should be able to deliver, curious about Joujouka remix, Deedrah (Pacemaker is awesome I just dislike the vocal sample, guess he won't remove it), BPC and Eat Static (Radio track is brilliant).

Favorite Oforia track is Maximiser (what a great sound): Some favorites of his other projects: Alien Pump Rodeo Tornado Over the moon is nice, too bad the final melody is boring, could have been a perfect track. Paranormal activity, crazy track Heliolatry And back to Oforia: Morning song (has some cheese in it but effective) Re transmission Oasis and his collaboration with Psychaos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvUwWfmp8Es

Last year I liked this compilation https://www.psynews.org/forums/topic/71342-va-the-dark-side-of-dawn-compiled-by-peyo-and-gaiana/ not "in your face" though, more like atmospheric forest. Last track by Mark Day is something special, very talented artist.

Let's do it together bro I start at day 9 I guess for a slow progress, we shall see! PS: the guy on the picture is holding on his fingers, right position should be the one posted by Anu a few posts above. @Anu you can do much better than 28 seconds, even 60 should be fine after a few days of practice

Guide a goa-head to the best psy-trance albums
Manuser replied to MrAnarchy's topic in General Psytrance
I haven't yet, will check if it is on youtube. -
What do you think of the trajectory of Shpongle's output?
Manuser replied to acid-brain's topic in General Psytrance
I consider Ineffable Mysteries to be at least as good as any other album. Museum of consciousness is extremely psychedelic. Only album I am not too fond of is Nothing Lasts. While I voted the second option, I think Shpongle's music has became more and more interesting and creative with time. -
Funny you post this picture Anu, I was talking about it on another forum. Two years ago my wife introduced me to it and we could hold for 3 minutes, then I managed to hold 3m30 after two weeks of practice but it was very tough (doing it on carpet helps too). Will try again with a goal of 5 minutes to achieve in 1 month time (by going progressively). For the record, world best performance was achieved a few months ago, 8 hours and 1 minute (yeah sounds insane I know, former record was 5 hours 50 minutes).

Guide a goa-head to the best psy-trance albums

Can't believe I forgot to mention Fragletrollet. Perhaps you won't like every track of the album but Manik 11 is one of the most fascinating track ever created. -
Guide a goa-head to the best psy-trance albums

Orichalcum vs The Deviant (I personally prefer the album "Live") The misted muppet - From the legend Psychaos - Cause and effect Sandman (Witchcraft, Psycho toons) Nervasystem - Time travel (I can guarantee you will like it more than the last one) X-dream - Radio Para halu - The world of peace Voice of cod - We are free Psysex - Expressions of rage Neuromotor - Neuro damage Miranda - Rerecorded Psyko disko - Psycho disco Logic bomb - The grid MOS - Bug You can also try Process but not sure you will like (Superior Technology, One drop or two) VA - Score (Tim Schuldt and friends) VA - TIP Singles 3 VA - TIP - 3D VA - TIP Nations series (Halluci-Nations, Xpla:Nations, Assassi:Nations...) -
Awesome sound with great attention to details, one of my favorite minimal psytrance albums.

The distinctions between some "styles" are a bit ludicrous. I guess since MFG was making goa trance, Chi-A.D., Darshan, Green nuns of the revolution should not belong to the very same category since they sound very different. On topic: I really like this kind of psy. Find it relaxing. I just wish there was a melody once in a while but enjoy it regardless.

(any order): Atmos, Son Kite, Logic bomb, Tegma, Ka-Sol.

Transwave - Phototropic Etnica - Hell's kitchen (Etnica - Trip tonite? Not sure about the BPM) Cosmix and Kristian - The vision Koxbox - Searching for psychoactive herbs Taiyo (Prana) - Taiyo The muses rapt - The ancient sound of the God Elysium vs Worm - Yemaya (not sure about the BPM again but pretty sure it should be around 130) Transwave - Ulysse (1 and 2) Blue planet corporation - Roma MFG - The message Logic bomb - Normalised
-
California sunshine - Shintu Shanti. Not only it is a very underrated track, but a very unique one: Love the spooky atmosphere together with those strange rhythms!

Yes good advice, Goa-Head until volume 7 I would say (they are on Youtube I think). I started my initiation with Distance to Goa, volumes 1-5 you have great sound with lots of variety. Earlier Tantrance (until volume 7) and the Pulse series 1-6 https://www.discogs.com/label/202783-Pulse-2 I guess Destination Goa as well even though I never listened to them.
-
Only recognize Sheyba - Trance Africa Express (don't think it is the original version).

Hi MrAnarchy, a few years ago I uploaded a full comp on Youtube with such tracks (at least I tried to put only goa tracks with great build ups). Tracklist:
-
They release slow stuff, can be ambient as you said (example Carbon Based Lifeforms - Twentythree), psybient or downtempo in general (Asura). Sure, they would not be considered as part of the "psy scene" in that case. Good labels for general psytrance music/aggressive full on: Hadra records https://www.discogs.com/label/32526-Hadra-Records (also release some downtempo). Sangoma is Forest/Psytrance oriented if I remember correctly. Treetrolla Records, and Forest Freaks also releases good Forest psy. DAT Records is a good label for goa / psytrance (old school) Iboga Records for progressive psytrance.

Listened to all the suggestions, found some nice and some boring. Nothing close to what I posted in my original post confirmation for me that Castlevania - Symphony of the night, had the best music ever made for a video game. I posted only one but there were so many fantastic pieces of music written by Michiru Yamane in this game. By the way I was looking for specific songs, not a full album, sorry if it was not clear
-
I nominate Castlevania: Requiem for the Gods, composed by japanse musician Michiru Yamane Enjoy this masterpiece

Overhyped back then and overrated. Had it not been a pioneer and respected goa artist (rightly so) behind this music, I reckon it would have been ignored or quickly forgotten. This is way inferior to the best drone ambient available even around 1990-1995, too basic. Anyway some like it, good for them. I don't have the patience for drone ambient that does not progress anywhere.
-
Best track for me here, really good, the melodic atmosphere in the final minutes remind me Paul Van Dyk - Seven ways which was a very special track for me in my teen years. Good job and I see this artist ever released only 2 tracks so far in his musical career. A nice surprise.

Chinese / Asian sounding ambient / downtempo
Manuser replied to CyclotronMajesty's topic in General Psytrance
Capsula - "Out There Somewhere" is an awesome track, it is not ambient but downtempo, really like it (the whole album "Synthesis of reality" is excellent).
