Thanks Starkraver, I actually had a check on Lustmord Bandcamp page and I did not find the track. Then I had a flash, it is not a Lustmord track but it is by Michael Stearns (memory can be pretty amazing!) the track name is The Gathering. It is not on YT but I found it here https://vk.com/video59336076_158993160 Back to Lustmord (since I posted on his album review), here is his Bandcamp page https://lustmord.bandcamp.com/ He is immensely talented. Problem is you have to listen to his music alone, your friends and family will think you are a psycho if they find out! can't be any darker can it??

What I have heard from Lustmord in the past was extremely dark. Robert Rich is a big name too but produced more diverse stuff, and very relaxing for sure. I can't remember.. but Lustmord produced a terrifying track, it is a short track with crows singing, my brother was a big fan of this kind of ambient but I can't remember the name of this track. abasio if you read this maybe you know...

Release: October 2015 Label: Sheem Records Mastering: Jack Braglia, Vital Mastering Artwork: Shiva Om Second album from Turkish artist Limiti, following closely on the release of Information Is Creation. Micronic Calculation is space goa trance all the way, and this nice artwork suggests so! 1. Always (9:13) is a slow track that sounds like a mix of progressive and goa trance. Brilliant intro, groovy bassline. I love the fact that the music is allowed to breathe, not too many layers at the same time. Many melodies to open this album. 7:45 nice change of direction to finish in beautiful fashion. Top notch track I think one of the best I have heard from last year. 2. Alpha Centaurian Ways (9:12) will rise a few eyebrows. At 143 BPM we get more power and the atmosphere is weird with some melodies sounding out of tune. Probably deliberately...make your own opinion. It is for sure different and again very melodic, even though the direction is not clear at all. Surprising to say the least. 3. Starplan: Ascension Of Galaxies (7:25) is on the experimental side bringing a few vocals to the table. The trance is slow (115 BPM) and somehow sounds melancholic, emotional, some synths are really beautiful. Not sure why but I think of Infected Mushroom by the way this track is built, the key changes at the end create something pretty unique. Lovely track. 4. Love Is A Frequency (9:07) is again kind of experimental, this time at much higher speed. Rolling bassline with fast psychedelic sounds all over the place, like a flying saucer travelling at the speed of light. Big thumbs up for the psychedelic part between 4:30 and 5:15. New direction taken at 5:30, even though it does sound amateur with melodies completely unrelated to each other, this freshness has its charm and makes you smile! 5. Infinitum Aeternus (vs Sourcerer) (8:24) gets aggressive from the very beginning. Same recipe as the previous track but at 160 BPM, the track really goes anywhere and everywhere though, with not so convincing elements. Not my style and too fast for me. 6. Morphodimensional (vs Yesil) (9:06) has a nice melodic intro but the rest of the first half fails to create anything special (with IMO a useless triplet part at 4:00). But past the 5th minute mark it gets much better. Expect some unpredictable synths with fresh goa melodies (some of them are a bit Chi-A.D. like), loving the part at 7:15. Definitely a cool track to end the journey. Nothing to lose here as it is a free release, and it was certainly worth a check. Listening to this album was overall a pleasant experience even though it does sound amateur at times, there is room for improvement but you gotta like the enthusiasm. Track #1 is incredibly refreshing, track #3 is definitely something special, other tracks have nice moments especially tracks #4 and #6. Vital Mastering did a good job too. Talking about Kashyyyk, there is a track I really like it is Inner Explorations. Unfortunately it is unreleased:

Release: 2014 Genre: Progressive Techno, Trance Label: Iboga Records 1. Contact (12:47) consists in a very long beatless intro and we are welcomed to hypnotic minimal techno territory. Pretty convincing for a start, I think it is a nice opener and sets the mood nicely. 2. Transition (10:18) follows a similar recipe with some fun sounds to create some weird old techno groove. Not my favourite but solid enough. 3. Eye See You (8:13) is pure epicness, it knows how to build a progressive trance feel (the original meaning of the trance word), very hypnotic and similar to the first Son Kite album back in 1999. Best track of the album. 4. Travel Blind (13:45) starts quicker than the previous tracks with a typical deep techno rhythm but we have to wait until the 4th minute to progress into something more trancy and interesting. There is a kind of breakdown in the middle of the track with the music becoming very calm so we can hear dream trance elements in the background. Very impressed by this track, sounds like early 1990 techno trance music. Another favourite! 5. Chihiro 61298 (10:38) is not my cup tea, the intro is very long and when the kick hits the ground it develops into deep house techno with clearly not much energy, which I would not mind if at least the hypnotic touch of the previous tracks was there but it isn't really. 6. Synesthesia (14:22) is the longest track of the album. Something strange here it progress so slowly that it does not sound like a 14 minutes track. A bit disappointed though, the start sounds promising with melancholic trance vibes but the second part is nothing special and the beatless outro is very long and too experimental. 7.In Flux (8:32) has a very soft rhythm and like the fifth track remains uninteresting for the most part, nostalgic techno synths that fail to really do anything, they cover some dull techno arrangements. Again not my cup of tea. Whether or not this album should have been released under the Minilogue alias, who cares really. I don't like that feeling when the opening tracks were promising but then from the start of the fifth track it lose its magic. I was really seduced by Eye See You, and Travel Blind. These two tracks are the definition of progressive techno trance, it actually slowly develops into something trance and hypnotic. Fans of the first Son Kite album with love these two tracks, for the rest you better not be allergic to techno. It is just a matter of taste of course, it is obvious Marcus Henriksson and Sebastian Mullaert want their music to be very entrancing and deep with quality over quantity. I just feel Blomma under the Minilogue alias was better for this purpose. My rating: 6.5/10.

Remixes that sound completelly different that the original tracks
Manuser replied to Ormion's topic in General Psytrance
Yeah a disappointment this one, too bad because it sounded really promising on paper. Disco Hooligans remix of Trance Africa Express (Sheyba) sounds really different to the original. Koxbox remix of Feel the universe (Juno reactor), sounds very different, best remix ever IMO (in the goa psy genre I mean) that is how it should be done! Unfortunately Mahadeva 99... very different but I don't like it much, especially compared to the original. Also you can check the whole album of Miranda, Rerecorded (2004) every track sound totally different to the originals, actually most of them have nothing in commun (for example Keep it calm is like a brand new track). -
Nice idea of a topic. The Tromesa track is absolutely brilliant indeed. For what I can tell, Ubar Tmar - Isis is a really unique track, never heard something similar:
-
I don't think it needs melodies, take for example Derango - Tumult it was one of the most praised albums back in the day (forest genre but still this is in the psychedelic trance category), not many melodies in that album (if any) but surely one of the most psychedelic.
-
I really like Spastic elastic. But I got pretty bored by the rest of it even though back in the day I could dig this from time to time. Maybe it is too cold for me. Still for sure this is purely underground and can have its charm.
-
This album is certainly not bad if you dig that style. If you are into this kind of psy I would even say it is an essential.

As usual, very deep..... will probably listen to the second CD tomorrow. Highly recommended anyway! -
I was a big fan of the album Waves of sound, one of the first trance CDs I bought. There was some fillers (Sun scream, Deep feelings). The third track (The only way) was interesting because different, darker to the rest. I never got into the rest of his music (including the first album For the people that I really find less interesting than Waves of sound).

Listening to The muses rapt - Human https://themusesrapt.bandcamp.com/album/human This is 10% goa, and 90% melodic trance, a nice change on the emotional side. Very relaxing music for me. -
Not exactly recent but always liked this compilation (creepy cover too!) Also do you know this album of Kemic-Al (Dark journal)? https://www.discogs.com/Kemic-Al-The-Dark-Journal/release/682050 Probably softer than Silent horror but it is definitely worth a listen.

Shivattva - The Tales Of Harvia Treetrolla Records Style: Forest psychedelic trance Artwork by Sebastian Jerke Mastered by Christer Lundström 01 Basic Vibration 02 Organic Food 03 Paranormal Line 04 Branched Flow 05 Harvia 06 Driada 07 Analog Forest 08 Mountain Echoes 09 Next Door The Tales of Harvia is Artem Arkhanhelskyi (Ukraine)'s first album released at Treetrolla Records after a few appearances in compilations since 2009. Expect a wicked and fascinating journey into deep psychedelia. Lots of crazy things happening in these 9 tracks, Basic Vibration being the slowest one here (138 bpm) then we get at least 148 bpm for the following tracks with a peak at 155. Mastering: excellent. The music: basslines are dry, raw, dark and groovy at times, tracks go straight to the point and intensify with occasional melodies, and lots of unexpected changes. Organic Food is one of the most impressive on this album, if you like Fragletrollet check this track out. Paranormal Line contains some key changes at the beginning and scary melodies all along. Overall a very intriguing track with a creepy ending. Branched Flow consists in 500 different layers with 50 bassline variations, extremely complex but tough to digest for some. Less melodious than the previous tracks. Harvia is a lighter track with more space to breathe, a nice dancefloor stomper with some drama in the second half. Driada takes over the same recipe adding a groovier bassline. Analog Forest brings not much new to the table and lacks a little of the great elements heard earlier, but Mountain Echoes starts differently and quickly heads to pure psychedelia, nice work supported by stunning trippy sounds after the 4th minute mark (the vocal samples sound out of place though), it is also good to notice some short and subtle melodies making a nice come back. Next Door ends the journey at 155bpm, the bassline is challenged here with lots of twist and variation, it gets crazy towards the end with the artist throwing the kitchen sink to finish the album in spectacular fashion. Serious and impressive work. This album has a lot of ingredients the amateurs of the genre will enjoy. The Tales of Harvia is, personally, one of the best forest psytrance I have heard. If you are into Fragletrollet, Derango or Kiriyama I can pretty much guarantee you will like this album. Favourite tracks: #2, #3, #5, #8. Yes a quite obscure artist but very good album, the sound is loud though but overall it is really one of the best of last year IMO.Similar, I am not sure! Not exactly similar, but talking about badly mastered tracks, I always love that one from Imperial project (Out of control), if anyone could release this track with a better mastering it would make my day: (good luck with your med school )

@Ormion nice Alphanaut. Never heard before powerful track. @MrAnarchy I can't believe I forgot to post this one: 01-N - Proliferation. "Mean" 303 you said?
-
Earwall, do you know if there is any way to get this track in good quality MP3 format? I guess not? It sounds exactly like their album FF and it is one of the best tracks I have heard from Alienated.

Still the same track for me: Andromeda.
