To fall asleep while astral Goa music is playing .. [recommendations]

Hi,

I've always had problems falling asleep at night, and music has most often been my rescue.

I really like, stoned or not, to lay in bed and drift into lala-land (sleep) while some hypnotic trance driven astral traveling music is playing in the background. But it's a hard nut to crack to get the right album that does not keep me awake - or wake me up because of something.

*I usually turn the bass off at these nights.

What album is your strongest recommendation for this problem of mine/yours? If you get my Q.

The album I have tried and most often makes me float and become more or less hypnotised by is;

Astral Projection - Dancing Galaxy

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4o_4ifMd6Y

I have tried a lot of albums and genres, and I know Pleiadians' I.F.O is supposed to be very good, but it does not for me do the trick as good as AP's Dancing Galaxy.

~ Exited to read and listen to suggestions from you ! thanx

PS. It does not have to be astral, or Goa.

But I am defo hearing for Psychedelic Trance albums that might do the trick for me.

When I was a teenager I used to fall asleep listening to regular plain old Trance, back when I was less cynical and could be moved by its pretty synths.

Well I'm glad that I'm a bit less cynical. I can do it all the time especially with the stuff from the 90s. Airwave's early stuff were pretty good.

Ok Richpa, I've made a playlist here for this sleeptrance REM inducing project :: I'll have to check the full albums/VA's in the future ..

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLGexdWyI0bAyuPWwT56iTluoo8GhTp9R2

I will add more videos/music on this youtube thing as you people come with recommendations. * other sources like Bandcamp is also welcome!

Ormion, I want to trance my self to sleep, the flying astral hypnotic thing I get from AP's Dancing Galaxy is the best I've found so far. Got better options? This is "General Psytrance" section after all ;):) *your welcome to post your ambient suggestion if please, but it is off topic'ish. I tried your flower album, didn't liek it to much and did defo not put me in trance while trying to sleep. Btw. I made this to put myself to sleep :P It's ambient (Fires of Ork <3 ) and builds with elements that should interact with dreams: http://www.official.fm/tracks/Ebht - It's actully recorded live in a club, a warm-up set.

Ok Johnb820 and U-F-Orb, hit me with tracks for this Q.

I always found this album exceptionally suited for that kind of purpose: "Dub Trees ‎– Nature Never Did Betray The Heart That Loved Her" (Ambient/Dub, according to discogs)

Wouldn't be better to try beatless ambient? It saved from insomnia couple a years ago.

Yeah, beatless space ambient works best for me.

Dunno how you can fall asleep to fast beat dance music. I've been listening to beatless ambient due to a medical condition for the past month every night and that works pretty well. I just need to find more of it..

Some albums I've tried so far

Colourform - Visions Of Surya

Steve Roach - Future Flows

Steve Roach - The Magnificent Void

Carbon Based Lifeforms - Twentythree

Solar Fields - Altered Second Movements

Actually there are some more psychedelic ones I think could suit.

Sundial Aeon

Order Odonata Vol 1

Sundog - Psychedelic Techno Hard Trance vol 2 (One of the best comps ever)

Darshan - Awakening

Dimension 5 - Transdimensional

I have a hard time falling asleep, excpet with some more Twisted music. Hallucinogen works very well because the music is not very generic and repetative. Both albums Twisted and The lone Deranger and Shpongle work great for me. Generally darker music works for me to fall asleep, but I fall better asleep without music.

This may be a weird recommandation for someone looking for sleep, but Toï Doï's album Technologic is a magical trip to Dreamland.
Except the track Nuage d'Encens with its crazy climax, the smooth rhythm and the whispering samples put you in a comfort state very quickly.

But it's not very "astral".

Toï Doï - Replicant

Good choice with AP's Dancing Galaxy. I love to fall asleep to that one as well. Have you tried Ra - To Sirius?

Some ambient/downtempo recommendations have already been made. I'd like to add Alwoods, e.g. Aeolian Mode

Other downtempo/ambient acts aside from those already mentioned would be Zymosis, Lauge & Baba Gnohm (!!!), whom I consider to be top of the crop.

Lauge & Baba Gnohm - Langbortistan

we have a sort of running joke about CBL putting you right to sleep ;). of course this has its roots in reality.

for hypnotic trance i'd recommend tracks like

SWM - SWM

BPC - Micromega

Electric Universe - One Love

Cygnus X - Synchronism

Union Jack - Longhorn

of course some of these artists have enough similarly suited tracks. and i suppose some chi-ad would also work nicely.
