  3. Artist: Aes Dana Title: Aftermath 2.0 Archives of Peace Label: Ultimae Records Date: April 2013 1. Aftermath #1 2. Aftermath #2 3. Aftermath #3 4. You get the rest...there's 8 of these tracks so if you can't figure out the next in sequence, I don't know...you're a f*cking idiot. So this isn't anything new. It's a remastered version of his 2003 album Aftermath which I reviewed here. Aside from being remastered it comes with 14 HD wallpapers if you're into that. Also Aftermath #8 which wasn't on the original (only on the Albedo compilation from 2005) is included. Cool thing is if you already bought the original then all you have to do is send them a picture of the cover atop your naked girlfriend and they'll send you the download link for free. Ok you got me...naked grandmother. Bunch a weird f*cks over there. Bandcamp Mdk
  4. Artist: Nuage Title: Vivant EP Label: Purple Hexagon Records Date: April, 2013 01 - Sweelo (99 BPM) 02 - Banyan Tree Snipet (120 BPM) 03 - Loulou de Pleine Lune (95 BPM) 04 - Anjuna Lecture (120 BPM) 05 - Diwali Liquids (120 BPM) "It's our intention to assist you in creating a new vision." Floating. Drifting. Peaceful. At ease. All apropos descriptions of this release. If you would like to just lay down and space out this is your vehicle. Channeling his inner Vangelis the man behind the Virtuart project (and several others) brings you this very relaxing ep. The first two tracks are downtempo and ambient cloud walkers. Loulou takes on a sinister quality that is a gentle nod to the sunny days of goa. And if that was a minor flirtation then the overly long Anjuna Lecture is a full fledged make out session. Hey! Keep your hands above the equator! He closes with Diwali Liquids and that is an ambient trance track in the vein of Solar Fields. It's nice. He didn't reinvent the wheel or cure cancer, but it's still an enjoyable ep. Free at Ektoplazm Mdk
  5. So lately I have heart impressive electronic amibent and chillout on tv as background music which I don#t know which artists it is from. it is better than most goa trance and is also very deep and moving. It is beat ambient music with 80 to 120 bpm and has goa like melodies but not as heavy as goa but lighter and sometimes more sad than goa trance. It is impressive music that I really don#tknow why it is so difficult to find since so many documentaries use it for background and i have heart it on some cds aswelll. It is music with some kind of piano, most tracks contain some kind of electronical piano, that does not really sound like real piano but a bit more electronica, it adds a very fresh atmosphere and is really some of the best music I know, I hope you know such music and can recommend it. I am sorry to use this old game as an example, but this shows exactly the kind of music I mean and such music is used a lot in documentaries on tv and it is much deeper than most ambient recommended here, it is much more alive, has much more charmonie and mch more emotion than most ambient crap recommended here, I want such msuic, I don't want simple crap ambient with one melody for 12 minutes, but I want fresh and very alive, EMOTIONAL ambient music, such music even ca impress girls. However it should be a bit longer, not only 2 minutes for one track.

  7. We are proud and excited to announce this new release, something very different to all our previous releases which is a movie soundtrack that is inspired in the children´s life and their experiences in the streets of New Delhi.. The soundtrack is a mixture of contemporary electronic music going from ambient, glitch, breaks combined with organic Indian sounds. Most of the tracks have been produced by Keeze who has lived in India for some time so he is quite connected with the Indian vibes, Nimbus English producer delivers two tracks with a modern mixture of bass music with Indian influences. We hope you enjoy these great collection of tracks!! My Street - My Life is a highly experimental fictional film accompanied by a powerful film score. It is set in the middle of New Delhi, India, where street children live amidst the hustle and bustle of a typical market street. The film is heavily based upon reality and the children acting in this film are the real street children from the area - this is their street. They have no acting experience nor education, but have spent many afternoons watching the cheap matinee screenings of old Bollywood movies at the run down theatre in one of the side streets. During filming, the children followed the directors' instructions and improvised around them as they pleased, telling the story of a few typical days in their lives. This style of acting resulted in the cinematographer having to be prepared for sudden changes of plan and direction, improvising alongside with the street children. The film is subtle yet strong. No great glamour is added, nor any great tragedy. The film remains true to the lives of these street children - they hope, they try and they fail. The project started as a 10-15 minute short, made mostly for the benefit of the children. The immediate benefit was that the acting and being filmed brought some novelty and excitement into what can be monotonous days. However, in the deeper sense the project was first and foremost an attempt to help the children understand that despite the harshness of their highly underprivileged existence on the streets, they do still have choices, and that the choices they make greatly affect their lives. We have known these children for several years - the oldest boy we have known for 11 years. Older street children often become a 'lost generation' as far as NGOs are concerned - it is much easier to help a child that has not been living on the street for too long than rough teenagers like the ones in this film. *My Street - My Life* aims to motivate these children, to empower older street children to improve and take control of their ownlives in a more positive way, however small that improvement might be. The project developed from the intended short into a 1hour 30minute low budget feature film that retains several visual aspects of documentary filmmaking. My Street - My Life is full of colours and life, so vivid that at times one can almost smell the odours of India. The imagery is accompanied by a film score of striking original music combining traditional sounds with modern beats, written by Ken Barrett. In addition to offering a highly authentic insight into the lives of street children in India, this film also gives a very accurate impression of daily life in a busy Indian bazaar with continuous movement and an abundance of life. http://www.savagestudio.org/mystreet_mylife/ Master by Juan Cristobal at Balance Audio Mastering, Bcn,Spain http://www.eardreammusic.com credits released 20 August 2013 Ken Barrett & James Roberts BANDCAMP: http://eardreammusic.bandcamp.com/album/my-street-my-life

Artist: Various Title: Cyan Clouds Label: Cyan Music Date: January, 2013 Side 1 01 - Fortadelis - Groovytational Pull (125 BPM) 02 - Saftronic - Lørdags (132 BPM) 03 - Low Orbit Satellite - Synchrotation MKII (125 BPM) 04 - Ross McLean - Subterrane (136 BPM) 05 - Paranal - E-System (125 BPM) 06 - Paranal - Binary Interaction (125 BPM) 07 - Arkadelphia - Fluidity (118 BPM) 08 - Arkadelphia - Lunar (112 BPM) 09 - OuD!n13 - Alteration (100 BPM) Side 2 10 - Low Orbit Satellite - Supersonic Traveller (95 BPM) 11 - Blatancy - A Cup Of Tea In The Twilight (Original Mix) (105 BPM) 12 - D-Echo Project - Subtle Change (110 BPM) 13 - Smooth - Nachtwerk (104 BPM) 14 - The Mixing Chef - Phases Of Chill (90 BPM) 15 - Tenonaki - Raumklang Mars (125 BPM) 16 - Bandarlog - Excerpt (100 BPM) 17 - Jaja - Riga (EBE Mix) 18 - Yagya - Old And Slow 4 The promo here pretty much nailed it (shocker). Side 1 gives you short tracks of various branches of techno. Some were floaty and hey! They repeat sh*t over and over like we do. Some of them sounded unfinished like they had an idea and then went to look at some porn. What stood out to me the most was the absolute lack of samples. Our music seems to thrive on them so to not hear any was very noticeable. Not saying that's a good thing or a bad thing, just a thing. The second half sees longer tracks as well as the first sample that gives me the knowledge about thunder and lightning I obviously lacked. The track by The Mixing Chef was great and had tremendous cosmic appeal. And there are a couple like that here (Excerpt is a moody sumb*tch). In the beginning there is more of a lounge and beer on the beach feel so if that's what awaits after alien abduction sign me up. Honorable mentions; tracks by Yagya and Jaja have some HUGE nebula watching pads. It's nice to get a break from trance once in a while. In that spirit, the next album I plan to review will be Wu-Massacre featuring Method Man. I think there might be a lot of f word in that one. Free at Ektoplazm Mdk

During these stages, we can experience what is known as "Hypnogogic" imagery, a series of vivid pictures or surreal imagery that bears little or no relation to waking memories. The imagery doesn't have the narrative quality of most dreams, but consists of a series of shifting and seemingly unconnected pictures that appear as it from nowhere; an animal, a face or a figure, an eye, a swirling rainbow of colours - the variety is infinite. This state, also known as "hypnogogia", occurs in situations where the brain wave pattern slows down such as in daydreams, meditation, and deep concentration. Through training and discipline, some people are able to enter these states at will, and certain plants and herbs have been used to assist the dreamer's entry into a trance-like state. While visions, hallucinations and trance-like states are not the same as a sleep-induced dream, they represent a dream-like experience where the boundaries between normal waking life and another dimension dissolve and merge. In many traditional cultures, the ability to enter a trance conciously and safely is a skill that is cultivated for the good of the wider community. The role of the dreamer is to travel between worlds in search of a vision that can assist himself or advise his ror her people." Wiquid Liquid Records presents a nice variety in the wide spectrum of Downtempo and Chill out music (Ambient, Psydub, Psychill, Downtempo psy, and elements of world) from new and also well known artitst from all over the world. 12. Artist: Metaphorical Cloud Title: Morphing Label: Flying Woofer Records Date: July, 2011 1 - Imagination Bay (120 BPM) 2 - Cenosis (120 BPM) 3 - Gardens (70 BPM) 4 - Morphing (101 BPM) 5 - Sphere (103 BPM) 6 - Substance (99 BPM) 7 - Quartz (120 BPM) 8 - Psyche (70 BPM) 9 - Backward (68 BPM) 10 - Aerobios (107 BPM) 11 - Thenaria (62 BPM) Flying Woofer Records? Never heard of them, but I might start paying attention now. This is Eduard Sionov from that huge landmass known as Russia with his debut. I don't know what's in the water over there (yes I do, it's Chernobyl goodness...where do you think zombies come from?) but there seem to be a lot of quality artists from that region. Which is great for the listening public. Eduard lavishes us with floating pads and electronic textures as the beat marches slowly on. Hard day at work? Put this on. Kids being a pain in the ass? Stick 'em in front of some Team Umizoomi and put this on. Utterly relaxing stuff that allows you to float amongst the puffy clouds. Sometimes those clouds smile back at you letting the sunshine through, and sometimes it's a bit overcast, so it's a good mix of brooding darkness and light. Recommended. Free at Ektoplazm Mdk

  15. Artist: Flict Title: Explorers EP Label: Self-Released Date: April, 2012 01 - Explorers (55 BPM) 02 - Against The Wind (75 BPM) 03 - To-And-Fro (80 BPM) 04 - Starlight (80 BPM) I had been meaning to get to this one a while ago, but it just kept getting pushed back. This is Dan Flict who released his debut Explorers back in 2009 so I guess this was just a refresher so more people could give it a listen. The first track is a deep journey to the bottom of the sea interacting with creatures in their native environment. Slow like bubbles rising from your scuba gear. Against the Wind is more slow motion turtle movements and dreamy views below a hazy ocean. To-And-Fro sees the first steady beat appear and Buddhist like monk chants echo deeply beneath the sea. Didn't connect as well with this one. The final track Starlight puts a picture of light on a nighttime sea as dubby bass hums against weird human noises. Odd. He's good at creating textures and deep feeling ambient with a liquid and bubbly quality. At least with this release. Hope he is still producing music. Free At Ektoplazm Mdk

    Om - Altona

Artist: Om Title: Altona Label: Ovnimoon Records Date: November, 2011 1. Te Extrano 2. Lost Look 3. La Esperanza 4. Desesperacion 5. Revivir 6. Earthquake Feelings 7. Enjoy the meditation 8. La Duda 9. Hijos 10. Viene Ovnimoon must be a label with deep pockets because they seem to churn out an album every week. Hector Stuardo is the jefe there and his psy-gressive style usually yields positive results. But here he adopts a personality that moves in an entirely different direction. Slowly. Very slowly. Seems Hector decided to try his hand at the drone/ambient style of things. Now drone, at least for me, has a negative connotation. As in "My wife continued to drone on and on about nothing in particular." Words that you never say to your wife chapter 7. Anyways, the main thing this will do is relax you. Long and I do mean long pads float slowly by like cotton candy clouds and before you know it 5 minutes went by. Because a lot isn't happening with the music it allows your mind becomes the storyteller to weave a tale to which even you don't know the ending. Or at least think of all the sh*t you need to do today. Desesperacion was more dark ambient with a creepy feel, but even that one had him just turning the volume down in the middle and then turning it back up. I might not be the best person to review drone music. But because I don't normally travel in that genre maybe I am precisely what you need. There's music that is relaxing and engaging. Altona was a lot of the former and not enough of the latter. You know what this is...background noise. Meditation music. Hell, he even names one of his tracks Enjoy the meditation. If the mind is not challenged or stimulated then it shall wander. I expect to hear this music when I'm getting a hot stone massage by a nude Salma Hayek. A guy can dream can't he? "OMG Hector tried to kill the vice president!!!" Psyshop Beatspace Goastore Mdk

  21. Artist: Prometheus / Hallucinogen Title: Clarity From Deep Fog / Spiritual Antiseptic EP Label: Twisted Records Date: February, 1997 1. Clarity From Deep Fog - Prometheus Process 2. Spiritual Antiseptic - Hallucinogen We know Benji Vaughn was part of Prometheus Process and Simon Posford needs no introduction. They later teamed up for some Younger Brother action. Ewww. Back in 97 they released this ep which consisted of the beautifully entrancing ambient piece Clarity from Deep Fog as well as the more well known Spiritual Antiseptic. In this case I liked the ambient one better my only gripe being that it was too short. The first time I heard it was on Tantrance 6 and it was 7 minutes or so long, so maybe they shortened it for the EP. Simon's track is typical Simon, with a thumping vibe, the smearing of sound manipulation, and loud. He certainly packs a lot in there. Good as always, but if we're being honest he's done better. Right? Mdk
  22. Plusquam Chillout is proud to present another highlight for the beginning of 2013 'Summer Meets Autumn' is a journey throughout the seasons aboard time-ship music. A voyage which will carry your spirit beyond the realms of this world in two glorious phases within one of the finest selection of musical masterpieces in today's electronic downbeat and ambient world. The first chapter takes you on a magical ride lead by a selection of the most beautiful daylight chillout, painting the summer spirit with all its lush green grass, sunny days, seaside moments and pure happiness, while slowly and graciously morphing into a more melancholic, groovy selection of the most expressively intense IDM and Psychill, announcing the arrival of autumn days, bringing forth gray clouds, rainy days, falling leafs and a gloomy ride through the end of our cycle. Enjoy the trip! Tracklist: 01. Data Rebel – Summer Breeze 02. Steiss – Missing The Heat 03. Palma s Mob – Orange Textures 04. Uth – Oasis 05. Khetzal – Elfic Angel Lost In Time 06. Suitable surrounds and subtle sounds are as equally uplifting by reaching for rhythms that are in tune with the most peaceful elements of the soul. Psy-ambient duo Land Switcher are substantial examples of this finest of artistic abilities by taking listeners/participants on a round tour of the expanses of the cosmos of human experience in their newly released EP, Tribe Scenario. As individuals Freddy Chauvin (Producer, DJ) and Antoine Martineau (Drummer, Percussionist) are proven talented musicians with formative dub roots but in co-joining in 2010 they have taken on new capabilities as the collaborative components of Land Switcher. With joyfully received live show taking them across the continents and an ever-expanding back-catalogue they are now beginning to mine the full potential of their greater whole. Tribe Scenario is four tracks of intelligent blissfulness with raw percussions and far reaching psy-sensibilities engendering the audience with the possibilities of expanded consciousness. Tribal elements pervading but such is their underplayed interweaving the perception of we are one as universal beings, with origins from beyond the horizon, is the only discernible emphasis. Tribe Scenario will be available soon from Free-Spirit Records - those metaphorical dream-catchers of psychedelic sounds who are converting dreams into liveable realities.
