  1. 3. You just reminded me of the never released Motor Mouse album.
  4. I want a full ambient album from Mos-fet. And an uptempo foresty album from Little Blue Men. Also Savage Scream. He had some of the best darkpsy tracks back in the 2000s; whatever happened to him?
  5. I don't have any books to recommend, but you could try this Masters thesis: https://helda.helsinki.fi/handle/10138/34536
  6. DJ Anti and Human Blue - Intergalactic Unemployment Astrological - Zyrkon Astrological - Tequila Sunrise
  7. Hmm, I haven't! Though I typically prefer closed to open headphones, for less bleed and more immersion. I used to have a pair of Shure SRH840s, which had powerful bass, but poor clarity; the layers of the music seemed muddy and indistinct, especially with something like Nervasystem 4 that emphasises the bass to begin with. By contrast, the more neutral sound of the 7506 seems to make them a good all-rounder.
  8. Sony MDR-7506. I've tried several other makes of headphone (AKG, Shure, Sennheiser, other Sonys) but nothing has the crystal clarity of the 7506s.
  9. Seriously deep, spacy, proggy goa. The best Human Blue track, the best Avi Algranati track, three of the best Oforia tracks, both sides of HMI's amazing and unknown Allan Hills 12'', and one of the more obscure remixes from Juno Reactor. Juno's deserves special mention; a blend of rock percussion, angelic choir, and trance lines, it's one of the most epic tracks they've made, and comes with their characteristic thought provoking samples. And while I didn't like Square Dream the first time I listened to it, I came to appreciate its simplicity in later sessions. The first few tracks are housier than you might be expecting, but that too is brilliant. Rather than hitting you over the head, the DJ sets a mood for the rest of the journey. It does what it says on the tin and submerges you in an ocean of psychedelia. I only wish it came in mixed and unmixed versions. So not suitable for DJ sets, but this is one of my go-to albums for home listening.

  11. Now that I have cable I tried the test again. Still not great (maybe because of where I am in the house?) but the difference is obvious.
  12. Rectify (best thing on the air, seriously) Sense 8 Bates Motel Also Rick & Morty is great if you ever wanted to see what a more "adult" version of Futurama might look like. I haven't seen it yet, but I recently heard about a British show called Black Mirror - dark comedy/sci-fi/horror, sounds right up my alley.
  13. This is a real album on Bandcamp: https://mcmangos.bandcamp.com/album/gangnam-access-memories Unless you're charging money for your music, I don't think sample collages or mashups will get you in trouble.
  14. Thanks for clearing things up Kristian. I hope you stick around, you have my support at least.
  15. This has a very 'old school night goa' sound, like something that could have been released on Phantasm or Psychic Deli. As such, it's more groovy than dark. Life On Earth is the most obviously Xenomorph influenced; other tracks remind me of early Nervasystem, Process, Lunar Asylum. The only track I didn't like as much was Midori, only because I found the kick a little obnoxious. There are lots of good melodic ideas and interesting samples, and no two tracks here are quite the same. I bought this and hope to hear a lot more from Negans in the future.
  16. I walk about 90 minutes on a typical day. In the afternoon, I walk to the Asian market in Japantown (about 2.5 miles away) where I eat lunch and study for one to two hours, then walk back again. That's my main form of exercise. Now that I'm older I've also been 'working out' a little bit. On a good day, I'll do reps of pushups, situps, lunges, sometimes jumping jacks. For situps, I try to follow Muhammad Ali's advice of not counting them until they start to hurt, because those are the ones that count. I don't have a particular cheat food. Occasionally I'll eat something a bit higher in fat but I normally stick to the McDougall/HCLF diet.
  17. This week I watched 99 Homes and Midnight Special. Two good Michael Shannon movies to wash away the taste of the bad
  18. Listening to Realm Nine now. It's definitely my favorite from the multi album assault of the past month. Full on goa was getting boring, nice to hear something more emotional for a change. https://gooddancerecordings.bandcamp.com/album/realm-nine
  19. Aha! It's Eco - Toxic Recall! What a great track. Eco is waaaay underrated. I'm sure that the Space Tribe track is Flipout The Dolphin and not In The Hands Of The Shaman; the two tracks share a lot of similarities, though.
  20. Great mix!!! Metropolis - Time Of War Scope Koxbox Arcturus - 1000 Planets TIP - Incandescence Shiva Chandra Noma ??? I want to say Mindfield/Sundog ??? Never heard this before, but it's brilliant. Space Tribe - Flipout The Dolphin Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
  21. https://gooddancerecordings.bandcamp.com/album/chiptunes-volume-one Remastered and extended Renegade 8 - Dark City, plus the GlitXO EP.
