  1. Oh man ... today is the day where they will come. I don't know if I shold go. I checked samples and it's not as bad as I expected, but the stuff doesn't impress me. If this was the first party after the summer pause then I would go ... but it's not the first, it's the second ... and I have gotten my fullon dose already last week - the guys that came before Echotek have put on even more crappier stuff and I'm fed up with it... Space Tribe I would like to see ... but when I have to wind myself through the great fullon plains again like last week to be able to listen to him ... I think it's not worth the nerve and the money.
  2. I really like the Goa-Head title. It's a double meaning ... it can mean "go ahead"-music or music for "goaheads", people who listen to goa (because "goaheads" can also mean "those who go ahead", you know ) I just like that
  3. Yes. Mortiis - The Stargate ... this CD from an Ebay trade I never recieved. And it wasn't coming from some oversea dude, no, it was coming from a dude from Austria (I could even have gone getting it in person if I would have wanted to make a one-day bike trip or so)! I payed, everything fine, he sends ... and the parcel gets lost in the mail. It was unregistered to save money, but now it turns out that unregistered shipping obviously can cost you a lot of money. I don't know if it was the dude's fault or the postman's, but I have heard of some similar cases later and I think it's the mail man ... somehow. Okay, this one was just 6 Euros, but still ... that's 3 LPs for me, damnit! Luckily I found this CD then later that year for a nearly as cheap price in a second hand store in Trondheim, Norway, so I was happy again
  4. Chilling Matenda both of them

    psy?

yes, they are pronounced the same way in english (but not in german!) but Saiko reads nice, little, cute ... and Psycho reads evil, dark, bad I like the cute reading better Saiko ... that's ... like the name of a cute asian girl
  6. haha I think that would sound horrible
  7. Hmmm... Like Vangelis on 1492 ... I know a bit of that album, but there is not much I can recommend. Although there is one that coms to mind: Gandalf ... http://www.discogs.com/artist/Gandalf (that's not really complete ... look at http://www.gandalf.at/ for more and better informations). I think the stuff you are looking for is somewhat classified as New Age. I'd suggest to search around in that sector...
  8. Lish I second But Echotek ... hmmm ... that is already too close towards fullon I'd say Nice music though
  9. mh ... I think one Xanax will do more good in this case than 10 CDs of the best chill music stuff, hehe (no, seriously, if you have aggression, better let it out first in form of workout or whatever than storing it inside and trying to put it down with chill music ... that's not good ... might work for long, but one day you will explode ... just a sidenote...) anyway ... I can't recommend so very much more, because many of what I would like to point you towards has been already mentioned, but nevertheless: I absolutely second the mentionings of Makyo and Puff Dragon ... VERY relaxing and good chill/ambient music this is, I really really like it. To me especially Makyo has a warmth and comfort in the sound of most of his songs that can not be found elsewhere. Very recommended for horizontal chilling sessions ... and it also comes great while smoking a Shisha BTW, in the same vein is Padmasana, where Makyo himself is a member too. "Universal Consciousness" is a truly incredible song of them Another good recommendation in this thread that I absolutely second are Carbon Based Lifeforms ... very relaxing and organic ambient synth soundscapes with a touch of scandinavian melancholy here and there, especially good for dreamy late night listenings. Hydroponic Garden is one seriously perfect album ... also their promo release "The Path" is very worth to check out .. and when that's not enough, a new album is planned to be released shortly! Solar Fields are another very good recommendation ... the music comes rather focused on frequencies and can contain a lot of energy and to me appears too intense at times for a late night listening session, but it's really brilliant ambient - but not ambient only - stuff (I don't listen to that in the night, but on a sunny day ... on the couch, curtains open) and I must say that over the time I have gotten so fond of Magnus' sound I meanwhile have obtained all of his albums (except the "extended" one...) For a chillier approach, away from the ambient sounds and more into a comfortable chill mood with a drop of melancholy I suggest Chicane (this dude offers everything from trancy upbeat songs to chilled and slow ones ... I like his sound, it's quite one of a kind) or Chilling Matenda ... even my friends who normally dismiss the music I play to them found those very appealing. Banco De Gaia is very much one of a kind. It's really great stuff if you listen a bit into it, but some of his stuff might be too trancy or upbeat for you for chill purposes ... nevertheless I highly second this recommendation for songs like Touching The Void, Obsidian (my favourite) or Drunk As A Monk (I love that one). Also Blackfish is good ... for a rather terrestrial electronic chill approach with some progression... I can also strongly recommend Enigma ... that is also wonderfull chill stuff. Sometimes already very poppy (Push The Limits), but it's great ... I really like Enigma. Oh, while I am at it ... I also strongly recommend Björn Lynne ... very interesting dreamy artist, every album has another theme.
  10. true, but I think our music has probably the most ... in other scenes there is not so much crap continuously flooding the market - except the highly commercial pop stuff maybe...
  11. Vibrasphere - Indian Summer

    psy?

that's called Saiko-Pod ... not Psychopod ... Psychopod sounds so un-creative (besides that is the first time the phrase "psy" is transformed to "sai" ... so applause for that )
  13. wait, wait ... that's not how I meant it ... of course the artist would say yes in that case, everybody would I wanted to say that when they aren't recognised so much they must give their best to get recognised ... once they are recognised they don't have to give their best anymore because they are recognized/are making money already... Try your above case - he will say yes and the label releases his music. And he gets recognised and makes money. But in the future the quality will get worse because the artist got recognised and got used to fame and money and doesn't work so hard anymore because he sees that he can make money with worse tracks aswell ... and so on.
  14. yes, but again it's the motivation factors they must release their best stuff, otherwise they will not get discovered ... so they do give their very best...
  15. italo disco? whenever I hear the words "italo disco" I must think of crap like this: The thread title irritated me...
  16. the reason for that are different motivation factors Artists that release stuff for money have this money as a motivation factor (which is an EXTERNAL motivation factor) - artists that know they don't get any money have different motivation factors - an inner urge to release the stuff to the public (which is an INNER motivation factor). INNER motivation factors are always better than EXTERNAL ones. The stuff produced with inner motivation factors will always come from your heart, your true heart and not because you want the money. That's the reason. Of course you can say now things like "the artists should not see the money they get as a motivation factor but as a reward" ... but only few are doing that ... as you see.
  17. both, but more of the melodic style... the stuff with which I got into the whole goa thing was melodic goatrance only ... Dimension 5, AP & others. But then I got to see Koxbox live and that somewhat disrupted the "melodic only" thing. That Koxbox sound flashed me too and nowadays when I hear it again I also have to think of the past. But generally the melodic style flashes me more.
  18. SBK - Mitleid Express this song title - the mere title - is so genious it has become a regular word for me to use for those depressive kiddie teenagers ... like "naaah man, on that goth party there's just Mitleid Express, I won't go there..." others: Bitmonx - Morgenlatte (english people will probably never get this one ) Defolder - Arschbiss (arsebite ... also becoming a regular used word) Sonus - Reisefieber (I often have that) Ticon - The Clown Smells Like Gasoline (just geniously weird!)
  19. the later stuff kinda has become it indeed Metabolism or Shodan for example... But songs like Analog Device, Blue Noise, Digital Thought, Generator, Pure Reality, Seismic Charge, Strange Planet ... and more ... they aren't morning nor light - at least not to me. They are not psycho dark and give me nightmares, no, but they are definitely not happy and that ... rather darkish progessing, you know. And if you look closer at fullon then you will see that it is like that as well ... it only has become too generic, but it's generally a bit darkish and not bright. Not dark like real dark psy, it's not trimmed on darkness by itself, but it's tuned on aggression in the sound and agression in the sound can be achieved easily (and the commercial artists of nowadays mostly prefer the easy way) by keeping the overall atmosphere and effects used rather not on the bright side, you know. At least in my opinion ... I hear the sound not as bright and happy but as aggressive and a bit darkish. I'm not saying oldschool used bright effects - they are also on the dark side, but due to the overall magical sound it has more of a "explore the depths of your mind"-mystical atmosphere... On the other hand - maybe I'm percieving that as dark what other people would describe as "psychedelic" ... ?
  20. There's much dark out there in the psy world. Noma, MOS, Zerotonine, Haldolium, Quantum State, Para Halu, Grapes Of Wrath, BOTFB, X-Dream... Even Etnoscope is sometimes dark, driving in its own way. Or Silicon Sound. Silicon Sound is also rather dark for me - with some exceptions, but in general... Or Saiko Pod. Some of that's dark too. Pretty actually. Magnetic Force, Tron, Pling Pong... Actually all Psytrance - the real Psytrance - is actually rather dark-ish for me in itself! With some exceptions, but in general it is so. Only the new modern scando or progressive sounds have another vibe - a housy, happy, clubby and melodic one, but not dark...
  21. -> I think it's too early to say something ... come on, people, it's just the beginning of September, we still got another third of a year to go! I still expect killer releases by Carbon Based Lifeforms and Etnoscope (and S-Range )! So let's be patient
