  1. I also made a successful trade with Matt ... package arrived yesterday. I second that the condition of the vinyls is very good! Guess if I had bought them new (and expensive) in a shop they would look almost the same. And that makes me extra happy I totally recommend this guy!
  2. oh hehe, I wasn't so impressed by the first one ... it's not typical CBL for me, you know ... it's too melancholically and calm (I can understand why you like it though, your music is somewhat in that vein, mood-wise)... I like the third one in the preview a lot more, because it has this characteristical acid synth line that I associate with CBL, nobody else has it in that way ... and the fourth one and especially the fifth one are great ones too - also because they are more in that typical CBL style and yet still something fresh! And also the second last one sounds marvellous too! But the clips are aso short, you know ... can't really concentrate or get into anything here ... I'd need the full thing to really be able to deliver an useful opinion.
  3. I don't know the album to be honest ... but I have seen Aphid Moon live and was not that impressed...
  4. What is Scann-Tec? Or Sundial? Are those sublabels I always thought Aes Dana himself is the head of Ultimae Records...
  5. See, that's what I wanted to hear from Psyshop! And you see, they admit it was done by intention, no mistake. But as they are excusng themselves all is well again. And Psyshop has its reputation back for me
  6. Metamorphoses ... "C'Est La Vie" and "Hey Gargarin" are my absolute favourite Jarre songs. And the rest on that album is really good aswell, only in the second half it weakens... and Chronologie
  7. that's noise music noise music has some weird track titles and stuff ... it's extreme music afterall like Brighter Death Now - You Got Sperm On Your Jacket (I Know 'Cause It's Mine)
  8. Harhar ... I gotta do it again: Last concert: KORPIKLAANI! Yesterday. Finnish Humppa Folk Metal! It was so damn awesome ... the support acts were a bit tough to endure since there is no support act that plays this style in an even remotely similar way, so everybody was standing around bored - until it was time for KORPIKLLANI! LOL, people were moshing already even before the music started to play It was so great. Undescribable. Insane. You can compare the grade of insanity with psy, but not the type. It's a different one. A folkish finnish humppa madness! Moshing, jumping, screaming, drinking, sweating. I was sweating like a madman. It was incredible. I was so dead. But it was so great. I probably got double the amount of endorphines I normally get while just dancing around. Insane. So great. Drank two litres of water later that evening, so died out was I. Killargh! Of course my mate and me later waited for the band almost an hour to get our posters signed ... but we got it in the end Today everything hurts - arms, legs, my spine ... I got kicks and elbow checks into every part of the body. And my head feels really heavy and hurts like a bitch. But it was great fun, I'd never wanted to miss that! Best non-psy gig 2006, definitely. Nothing can top Korpiklaani
  9. Harhar "So you cut us the ability to charge for our music? That's not a problem. We give it away for free then! It's pirated anyway." I like that way of thinking. Really
  10. a classic indeed although I liked some of his later stuff better ... but anyway
  11. Hey, that's very nice news aswell
  12. Yeah, I do know ... every Carbon Based Lifeforms track I know (and that is nearly everyone) is great work But the teaser is only presenting such a short excerpt of each track which makes getting into it hard and the experience lacks ... some of them sound indeed quite good, yeah, but overall this thing didn't really kick me off the chair as I expected, you know. Anyway, I'll wait for the full one
  13. ach, you mean this one ... I thought you meant a real big one yeah, you're right though, that one isn't impressive. but I know CBL ... they are my favourite ambient group, they won't be shit, I know it ... I put my trust in them
  14. audio piece?!?!? where, where???
  15. Good News!!! thought I'd share that: http://www.ultimae.com/en/releases/208/index.html
  16. Absolutely right. But I understand the other guy ... DJ stands for "DiscJockey", meaning a person that mixes tracks from discs (yeah, vinyl is also a disc in this case - a bigger one, but nevertheless). Strictly seen you shouldn't include laptops or other stuff - it must be discs (and no harddisks!). In the future I think this word should adapt to the modern world ... like MJ ("MultimediaJockey") or whatever... BTW, "Jockey" sounds damn gay
  17. I know every DJ set will be unique (and it better be like that, because the uniqueness is good!), but you can't deny you have a style, a general vague prediction what kind of music style the audience can expect when you make a set. For example I doubt that DJ Slater from Tribal Vision will suddenly come up with killargh Skazi fullon blast when he normally spins totally different stuff And you might be right, the main problem probably lies more in this "same formula" thing of the music, which basic elements are easy to copy for wannabes...
  18. Argh ... Ritual Om, you bastard! Yes I've heard of a Twisted party but didn't check out the lineup (why should I bother when I can't go to London anyway) ... now thanks to you I did and now I envy all that go there and hate myself for not living there. That's probably the last chance to see the legends and I can't Thanks for making me want to jump out of the window today, Ritual (just kidding, mate ... but I now really pity not being able to be there...)
  19. no... no, seriously... I hate that track You know what I think is a good fullon track? Space Buddha - Acid Prophecy. Kicks. seriously
  20. this is Psynews, my friend (almost) fullon-free territory
  21. I don't know who it was, but I definitely saw once such a laptop guy. Came on the stage, plugged his laptop in, logged on, pressed a few keys and that was it. Music was playing and tracks were mixing, he didn't do jack shit. Was just standing there, almost dancing. It was just boring. And the music was fullon ... lame, cheesy and overplayed. This was the worst DJ gig I ever saw. To avoid this in the future I since try to come to the parties shortly before the liveacts start to play and leave immediately afterwards. Don't care about the DJs anymore unless I know their peculiar sound and go there because I want to hear their sets (and then I don't even mind if he just plays it from the lappie, I wanna hear the music and am curious for what new tracks he will spin)... And Krell, you're right, the software makes things easy and lets room for the DJs to focus on other things and be more creative and make even richer sets. All good, really, but on the other hand it also opens the gates wide for posers who don't have a clue and litterally can only press a button and let the software do the rest and try to be cool when they in fact can do nothing (and even then they make mistakes like they press a wrong button and the sound suddenly is gone and they just can shrug their shoulders ... not very impressive) - and this is something I clearly do not want.
  22. Sounds interesting. You will make big list will ya? you like Ulver so much that you keep it? You should buy one of those:
  23. nice I don't think they can sue you for copyrights - as long as you don't openly sell them at least. If they're just for you I wouldn't worry
  24. Ask them if they know about the sniffing proggie Ethereal
  25. Absolutely seconded And I would add Tegma - Around The World In 80 Minutes (Tribal Vision) to the list too! Well, these three. Those are my best of 2006 of now. Nothing more. And as S-Range's new piece will most likely wait for a release forever I don't think anything will be added until the end of the year either. Case closed for me
