Hallucinogen deranger/fluoro neuro style track
RTP replied to radi6404's topic in Free Music Promotion
I don't know anything about mastering, so I will not say anything whether the mastering of this one is good or bad (but I must agree that it is kinda strange why you suddenly got such an outburst up there, Radi? And totally unmotivated as it appears to me...). Anyway, to the track ... I really didn't expect you to be that skilled with synths, Radi. Respect for the synthesizers. I could not do that, no way. It's even quite good despite this is not the type of psychedelic trance I love. If you want constructive critics, then I'd recommend you to improve the kick as somebody said earlier. It's so soft that it's hardly audible. A more powerful kick wouldn't do bad. And the same with the bassline too - I can hardly hear it. And yes, it's kinda monotonous too ... you should bring in another melody somehow, a change in the track ... whatever, it's up to you. But first improve bass and kick please... Apart from that I like it. And respect to the synth work again, I really didn't expect this -
Matenda - Bonaca Artist: Matenda Title: Bonaca Label: Spirit Zone Recordings Catalog#: Spirit Zone 091 Format: Vinyl, 12" Released: 2001 Track listing: logo side {A}: Bonaca info side {B}: Mission Impossible Review: I can't help myself, but I love this record. I just have it since a bit more than one week and it's already the most often played vinyl I own Although this record has been released in the same year as Matendas debut album "Energy Loader" the sound on it is a bit different to what the listener would expect when having heard the former. The sound on here is not so floating and scando-trancy but rather stomping and progressive. The track "Bonaca" on the A side is the a bit calmer one of the two and starts off somewhat floating with a sample about "being in the fields of vibration", but the floatingness is soon forgotten once the kick and bassline - which is by the way quite original - come in. What follows then is a progressive cocktail very suitable for continuously shaking one's ass to it. No major buildups, breaks or melodies here, just plain good old un-stressy feet stomping with a bit of synth elements here and there in the background. I like it quite a lot because of the bassline, it makes this one a real "stomper" if I may say so. On the B side we have "Mission Impossible". This one is darker and faster (not that much bpm-wise, but because of a completely different bassline) than "Bonaca" and it also has more going on synth-wise. A sharper and darker sound altogether, with a less stomping, but more pushing atmosphere. There's tension, progression, rhythm, samples in between and it also gets more intense towards the end and gains tension with even another synth layer ... this track has quite some dancing off potential! I really like it very much - in fact this track was the reason why I decided to get this vinyl, because I only could listen to a sample of that tack, but I liked it so much I decided to buy the piece! Well, that was it about the tracks. But the thing that I really like on this EP is the sound itself! It's a pretty uniquely rich and deep and clear sound ... one that is not present elsewhere, for example on Matenda's Energy Loader release, which I own too. I can't really describe it better, but that is the reason I truly love it. Every oscillation fits here and the tension and progression and the rich sound makes it very enjoyable to listen to! A quite good and suggestable release and an especially interesting one for those who only know the melodic and floating side of Matenda and would like to hear something different from him

No, to be honest, I wouldn't like to see any of them on TV. I think that would only further foster commercialisation and the "star hype complex" that has brought the scene so much negative things already...

*downloading* hey, that's 20 minutes of music ... cool finally some serious album preview, not such a shortie as the teaser on their site ... when hearing this one can definitely gain some good impression of the new album. hmmm ... what can I say ... to me it sounds somewhat a bit more polished than their first album ... but fortunately the acidness of their sound isn't gone, you can still recognize that it's Carbon Based Lifeforms, with their typical calm organic and even a bit melancholic floating scandinavian ambient thanks a lot for the link EDIT: HEY, now I know it where I know that melody! The calm background synth melody in the first track - this quiet ascending "daaaaa-daaaaa-daaaaa" (beginning at 1:24 of the file) - it's EXACTLY the same tones as they are in Arcana's song "The Last Embrace"! Or isn't it?

indeed ... I'll watch out for this guy
-
no, I think I'd keep it...

ask if you can transfer the money directly to their bank account could work in many cases, I'm sure about that just ask
-
I know your pain, I don't have creditcard either! right, Wirikuta offer Cash On Delivery Saikosounds don't offer it when you're first time customer (which you are, Radi, I know) ... but they have a feature that you can transfer money directly to one of their bank accounts - and one of them is in London, so it should work with this inner-EU-moneytransfer thing? I am planning to make a purchase from Saiko. I let you know...

oh yeah, me too

At most I get progressive stuff ... ranging from trancy up to housy progressive. Artists like S-Range, Matenda, Noma, Son Kite, Vibrasphere, Atmos, Antix, Magnetrixx, Tegma, Sonic Cube, new Feuerhake, SBK ... you know, I love them! I also get twisted Koxbox/Saiko-Pod musical style ... and I like it. Also some other psychedelic trance such as Dimension 5 (I like a lot!) or most Hallucinogen or Man With No Name. And also Astral Projection stuff - the old and the new one! The "freeform" style of psychedelic music (so I call it) with artists like Klangstrahler Projekt and old Feuerhake I get too. Also the minimal music as Shiva Chandra and Auricular make it. And also some (good) fullon such as Silicon Sound or newest S-Range. Banco De Gaia stuff too ... also some Eat Static (some other not though )... All ambient/chill EXCEPT SHULMAN/SHPONGLE style... And last I also "get" more darker and pushing stuff ranging from Zerotonine up to Penta...
-
I'd pay 5 Euros for it... or wait, for Dimension 5 I guess I'd double the amount. or wait again, I triple it. 15 Euro I'll pay for this thing. My last words. Who wants to sell? (I'm serious!)

Another successful trade here. Everything went smooth and the records are in very good condition just like the first time. I, again, totally recommend this guy

Psy that I don't get: - JUNO REACTOR - some Oldschool - Texas Faggot - Parasense - Organic Noise (The Vacuum is an incredibly great track though!) - some Eat Static (some other Eat Static are very good stuff though ... weird) - TEH UBER CHEESY SCOOTER FULLON OF NOW now you know why I like teh finnish Humppa Metal so much

Jean Michel was already making marvellous electronic music before you were born If you like good old ambient or synth music then you will not be disappointed by his early stuff. Oxygene and Equinoxe ... all good old-fashioned but very nice sounding. I like them. And finally this could be a point where you start buying albums, Radi: I found the above mentioned albums on vinyl for just 2 Euros each. They're so old they often get found in attic cleanups and then sold on flea markets for a ridiculously low price - and the same is valid for the record player itself (record player, no direct drive technics turntable, you hear me?). Go for it

heeey, cool, didn't think there were so many

Kaklakariada = a song from Attwenger (my favourite austrian band). It is austrian dialect for "kein Kleinkarierter", which means "no small minded/narrowminded/pettifogging dude" ("kleinkariert" means much...) Kaklakariada, Kaklakariada konn da irgendwos dazöhn wos stimmt, Kaklakariada, der die Hosn ned glei voi hot, wenn irgendwos passiert is, wos a söba ned vasteht.

what would you have said if somebody would have told you this exact thing in the past ... I'm just thinking about that right now... adapt this exact issue with past and now to everything you are thinking and saying now aswell - it should be a lesson to you!
-
the reason why nobody in the psy scene does release albums in Dolby 5.1: the average hippie can't afford a Dolby 5.1 sound system and CDJs don't play it I think Jean Michel Jarre did it with his album "Aero" though ... just to mention it.

Which tracks that you know have samples from Computergames? I'd like to know some more cool ones. I know the following: Silicon Sound - Shodan: sample from the "System Shock" series. Silicon Sound - Jupiter 8: samples from "Unreal II: The Awakening" ("Remember now: search and rescue. No rough stuff!" - "Eat that, space monkey!", "Die you monkey freaks!" ... all from the first mission in the game).
-
London, eh? If I can score an one Euro flight there and back (no joke, airport taxes not included though, but it will still be hella cheap!), then I even think about going!
-
I absolutely agree on that. The track is quite good despite I generally don't like Shpongle so much anyway, but when the samba starts I just wanna puke...

New years eve, where is the best party gonna be?
