  1. Stress is not the right word, it's called suspense. Suspense is what keeps many people watching because it appeals to very basic emotions. People also like interesting stories, where it's not entirely clear how the thing is going to end. If there's no suspense, most people won't even bother. I agree that in many cases it's too gimmicky and especially in most blockbusters it comes down to a lot of cheaply made suspense, but suspense pulled off the right way can be a formidable motivator to keep watching/reading/listening to something. Even in music, suspense plays a very important role in keeping you interested. So basically, I don't really get what you are trying to say... These movies/series do not generate stress in people (or for some, they do but certainly not for everyone), they create suspense. Semantically these are two very different things. If you do not like suspense, I'd say don't watch suspenseful movies/series or do not read that kind of books or don't listen to that kind of music. However, I think you can learn to appreciate that kind of feeling for what it is. For me I can only say that I enjoy good suspense, in the same way I enjoy an emotional melody, or a good lovestory. Not the entire time, because that would get boring, but as a part of a spectrum of emotions that tells me I am human. Variety is the key to a fulfilled and happy life I think, not only in what you do, but also in what you consume (I know 'consume' has a very bad ring to it, but in essence it's what we humans do, all the time). As for your question: I do not think that extreme suspense and a good story are mutually exclusive. I will even go as far as to say that to me, the ultimate movie/series/novel/musical composition/telltale-story is one with formidable suspense and a great story. There, I made an honest effort to provide constructive commentary
  2. I completely agree with these three descriptions. Three astounding tracks with Life Never Sleeps being one of the best tracks of the genre. Instant-classic. I must admit that I had grown a bit tired of filteria as I listened so much to his stuff in the beginning when I had just discovered goa. But every time he releases a new album he just blows me straight out of the water again each and every time. I love how your sound has grown more acidic and twisted Jannis, it really shows that you know how to give your music that psychedelic edge. Reinventing your sound without losing your integrity is a hard thing to do these days it seems, but you seem to pull it off time and time again. 4 albums and a remix-and-unreleaseds compilation... An impressive feat for a new-school goa trance producer. So this to me is Filteria more mature, and with more edge, rawer but at the same time more elegant than Sky Input, and especially more acidic. Crazy climax driven, ultra-psychedelic high octane goa trance that's going to be a very strong contender for album of the year for me. A must.
  3. Good debut that really took me by surprise. Nebula Meltdown has a very unique style, but I love how he uses melody. Favorites are 1,2,6,7 and 8. Especially Alnitak Sunrise... Damn what a track!! Great job The ambient is pretty too.
  4. Xibalba desperately needs a release... As does one of the GoaTree tracks... Argh I can't wait
  5. I agree with Joske. The new Filteria is really cool (especially Life Never Sleeps), and Akshan is nice too (both albums actually, his debut was quite strong as well). If you haven't already checked Connect.Ohm then you're in for a treat! Ow and don't forget VA - Phoenix from Zion604, definitely one of the best comps of this year!
  6. God I love this track... Skreno has been my favorite Ka-Sol track for a long time, but Schlumpen eventually got the better hand. I guess Skreno for me was a bit of a one-trick pony with the very good key-change somewhere at the end of the track, but later I just began loving the sounds of schlumpen that much more, so aggressive!
  7. I just love how uncompromisingly positive but still in-your-face Goa can be... It's almost as if it has this mental pull on me that guides me through every episode, be it good or bad, of my life and always reassures me that what I am doing is right, that I can do it, that I can take it, that I can be a better person... I guess this goes a little deeper than the purely musical analysis but that's what Goa does for me, and I am eternally grateful for that. On a more musical note I love the 'avalanche of melodies' the different layers create, which can put me in a very hypnotic/trancey/euphoric state. Man, I still remember the KICK I got out of listening to Filteria the first times!! My mind just soars to this music. Melody + Psychedelicness + 4/4 Kickdrum = WIN
  8. Another 5 of my absolute favorite newschool tracks: Mindsphere - To Infinity http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Se6e1uaoirw Filteria - Total Planetary Being Khetzal - Trancefuzion RA - Transcendent Artha - Controlled
  9. This is hard. Here are 5 of my favorite newschool tracks, in no particular order: E-Mantra - Voyager II Artifact303 - Beyond Lightspeed M-Run - Goat Man Lapsus - Year Zero Crossing Mind - Elastic Harmonies http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=6cO4Jet80_I But there's so much more tracks I enjoy....
  10. Very good example indeed. Superb track!
  11. Cool Idea! I'll be following your blog
  12. As far as aggressive goes, I'd really recommend to check out the first VA from Anjuna Records, Tribal Encore. It has some mad acidic unreleased oldschool stompers. http://www.discogs.com/Various-Tribal-Encore/release/4633647 As far as newer Psytrance goes, I'd recommend the third album by Psilocybian, Dreamtime. http://www.discogs.com/Psilocybian-Dreamtime/release/5005176 Concerning the Chill-Out, Globular's latest is a great free album, as well as E-Mantra's third Psychill album: http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/globular-magnitudes-of-order http://www.discogs.com/E-Mantra-The-Hermits-Sanctuary/release/4486183 Good to have you back Abasio
  13. I rest my case. You pull almost everything I said out of context.
  14. No. You do what you want and I do what I want. Which is not react to most things you post. I just don't like you the way I know you on this forum. That is my right, as it is your right to question this, get upset about it, start a new goa trance site, ride a horse, bake some cake, take a shower, etc. My point is: you put me off. Time and time again. I've read so much shit you post that I honestly have grown tired to even open a thread in which I see your name. But I have also learned that that is just the way you are. Maybe some people like you and want to talk to you about Goa Trance, but not me. This is the reason for what I stated above, that I don't want to react to your posts. Besides that, I often have the feeling that you and I experience Goa in a very profound but different way. Most of the time I just don't understand what you are trying to say.
  15. To be honest Radi, you're the main reason there's a lot of topics I don't want to comment in because: You can not argue. Everything is written in stone for you. It's fine by me if people behave like that, I'm just not going to interact with them. You keep hammering about the same 5 artists. I know they're good, I love them too, I have many albums of them but I come here to discover new things, not beat dead ponies. You take offense like a 6-year old. I like to laugh with people, not taking everything serious. It takes all the fun out of interaction. For me, you take all the fun out of interaction. You always complain about people not taking anything serious you say. I wouldn't take anything serious you say either, so I choose not to react to you. You do not learn. Your behaviour is always the same. That's boring.
  16. Solar Resonance! A track that really deserves to be released Very curious about the rest, cover as always fantastic.
  17. I know, I already heard the album this summer, but the samples blow me away yet again. Can-not-wait. His masterpiece!
  18. I highly recommend this! Defibnitely one of my favorite early trance albums!
