  1. Fantastic album indeed. I listened to his first downtempo album again yesterday and it's good to see he made a lot of progress in the storytelling-aspect over the entire album. Very cinematic! I agree with Penzo, I would love to have more of those beatless tunes from E-Mantra. Favorites until now are 1, 2 and 5, although the album in it's entirety is a great story
  2. Out of context this sounds really funny ^^ SOrry for OT. Radi, take it slow dude!
  3. This is my favorite Total Eclipse track by far... So intense!
  4. The Etnica morning remix of time dilation is one of my favorite tracks (of all time) as well, pure beauty! When they started their set with it last year in october I went bonkers! Other favorites include shadow dance, microdrive, floating universe and vimana but the track that really hit me the hardest in the past months is definitely Blinded Moon... Such utterly Alienesque atmosphere and melodies, just great! Aliens! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TFPgHnxRe0
  5. I am sorry I have offended you by posting my favorite goa leads. I thought this was a forum I could just voice my opinion on. I never meant to be aggressive or disrespect radi's post(s), not in this thread nor in any other thread. I'm just contributing. I still don't get why you called me out on this even though I wasn't the first one to post tracks with another kind of sound for lead as the ones radi mentioned OT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bldHTBq77ts That acid lead....
  6. MFG too has some leads that characterize goa very well: From 2:20 onwards... That lead-melody/synth is so awesome! And this starts pretty much right away... Classic!
  7. The topic title says: those tracks with the ultimate goa lead. Electra to me has the ultimate goa lead. I rest my case.
  8. Seriously? Starting at 5:58 and then again at 6:30!! There are more than 1 lead playing, all of them coming together to form that awesome electra climax and then erupting again at 7:30. This is one of my all-time favorites. together with this: 3:56.... But then again, if you truly want to enjoy a lead you have to look at the whole, a lead without anything else is nothing and in goa it is often the accompanying melodies/leads and soundeffects that truly make the main melody shine.
  9. I hink there's a lot of 'areas' one can be innovative in, and that there are also boundaries in that if in certain aspects (like composition for example) one is too creative, one crosses borders into other genre's. Yet there are also areas one can be creative in while comfortably residing inside a certain genre. A good example of this is soundsculpting, and I think the most innovative artists in this come out of the forest subgenre... a gazillion sounds all working together to create that hyperpsychedelic but also trancy feel.
  10. Most of the time I feel I can't fully enjoy music, and especially really psychedelic music when in company (other than at a party). Deep listening sessions to really grasp the music I still prefer to conduct completely alone. It is in this moments that the music really takes me away, without someone's irritant babbling in between I feel my taste has evolved as well, but is still very much centered of what I liked when I first heard psychedelic trance... Trippy, darker but also euphoric and downtempo stuff.
  11. This! One of the reasons I fell in love with oldschool goa... But they have so many awesome tracks... Cycles Of Life for example, or Malaka Dance...
  12. Sounds interesting enough to warrant a buy I think who knows, maybe we'll be positively surprised!
  13. In my opinion, Goa has to be experienced, not only heard, and the best way to do this is to dance to it, with a lot of people on a gigantic soundsystem! For me those are the absolute best moments with the music and hence I encourage anyone who likes the music to just try it! You won't know what hit you, I promise Lost Theory was great indeed! Pity we didn't meet Shpongled... Ah well, there'll always be a next time I guess ^^ GNOTR Retro and Koxbox Retro blew my mind!
  14. You're more than welcome I was blown away completely when I first listened to it! And how could I forget Koxbox' Forever After!! Probably my favorite album on Matsuri Records along with Prana's Geomantik.
  15. Not to forget these VA's... VA - The Truth Of Communication VA - Abstract Phaze VA - Resonance Mood Especially the latter is one of my favorite oldschool comps of all time. Very gritty, raw sound!
  16. The Time-table looks really good 7 more days!!
  17. In no particular order: Suntrip Lost Theory Cronomi Sanaton Ovnimoon Neogoa DAT Zion 604 Ultimae Altar

    Sci-Fi Movies

Just saw Pacific Rim last week.... Awesome movie! Really a little boy's dream come true ^^
  19. I'm an on-and-off collector really. I need to always be collecting something because I guess that makes me feel more involved and gives me a sense of accomplishment. Now I'm collecting psytrance and ambient... I used to collect different things, I still have about 4000 magic: the gathering cards
  20. I still think Psycho and Where is S? are some of their best tracks, and pretty good psytrance stuff as well... Cities of the future has indeed degraded to shit in my eyes And then a friend said I should listen to this:
  21. They should make a Dune remake, and let someone like Nolan direct it...
