  1. Got this last week: Nice Radical Distortion track and because of the Zirrex track today arrived... Holy shit what an album!! Never heard anything by him before but this is awesome music!!!!
  2. Yeah, I think it is almost impossible to give an exhaustive list of all the influences
  3. That's not even all of the influences early Goa was born out of. The whole genesis of the genre is much more rhizomatic (as in there are many musical crossroads that themselves interjected to form trance as it was played in Goa). I think about Italo-disco, early EBM like the belgian Front 242, etc... Very nice text Richpa! Maybe everyone here can read it, post their comments on it and then you can upload the final version on wikipedia? I have long dreaded the explanation of the genre on there atm so I think it's a very good idea to replace it with our combined knowledge.
  4. Saafi Brothers - Mystic Cigarettes (I'm actually not sure if this qualifies but IMHO it does.)
  5. Very good documentary!! Never seen it before either... Are there more of these underground documentaries besides this one and karahana? (I remember there being another one but I forgot it's name, also about the trance scene in Israel and Japan)
  6. Are we really comparing Goa Trance to Rammstein now?
  7. This is a set I've been planning for some weeks now. It's all mid to late nineties darker melodic Goa Trance. This is my first recorded set. I used 2 pioneer cdj 100-s and a behringer Noxx 202 mix desk. Tracklist: 1. Pigs In Space - Invisible Contact [Phonokol] 2. Psychaos - Return Voyage [DAT Mafia Recordings] 3. UX - Dominion [Dragonfly Records] 4. Cydonia - Screaming Darkness [blue Room Released] 5. Front Line Assembly - Columbian Necktie (GOArge Mix by Tim Schuldt) [sub Terranean] 6. Transwave - The Rezwalker (Black Thunder Mix) [Matsuri Productions] 7. SYB Unity Nettwerk - Sun Invaders [substance] 8. Cosmosis - Howling At The Moon [Transient Records] 9. SLUG - Slugfest [Matsuri Productions] The transition from The Rezwalker to Sun Invaders is rather shaggy and I'm not pleased with it at all, but the rest of the transitions kinda make up for it so I hope it won't be too big of a distraction. Feedback is more than welcome ^^ Enjoy! http://soundcloud.co...heory-of-motion
  8. I don't think so. He NEEDS to make money to keep his label alive (and himself). That's another thing entirely.
  9. The guy may do as he pleases as far as I'm concerned. If he makes another one I'm definitely interested but if he doesn't... I won't mind either. Frankly, all speculation about seasoned veterans of the scene returning with a 100% goa album is becoming become more and more ridiculous considering past experiences. I just don't count on it.
  10. Fantastic stuff... I was interested in this album before but somehow never gave the samples a good listen. I wonder if this is the point in history where Dark actually is evolving into something new. This is high-tech strangely melodic fast psytrance the likes I've only encountered with crazy astronaut until now. But somehow I knew that kindzadza would evolve his sound as well into something like this. Also from production standpoint this is so incredibly well produced, with enormous love for the details. Impressive!
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hF0-NrEIJMI&feature=player_detailpage I just LOVE this track by Astrancer, has a really Indian vibe to it as well... He's good at that, so check some other things by him as well ^^
  12. Kafka on the Shore is indeed a fantastic book and you're in for a treat with A Song of Fire and Ice!
  13. Awesome, thanks for sharing the info!
  14. I like it as well, sounds very powerful or at least way more powerful than their last album Second Phaze. Don't know how I feel about those basslines yet, but I think I'll grow to like them.
  15. Ah come on, by now everyone knows that radi's easily annoyed, just let him. I don't pay attention to it. As far as OTT's concerned: I LOVE smoked glass and chrome and Queen of All Everything!! Probably two of my favorite chill-out tracks ^^ But indeed, Androcell is quite good too... Especially fond of his Neurosomatic Circuit, it just gets me going every time ^^ Globular is really nice too! Will have to check out the other artists mentioned in this thread as well! I love psydub ^^
  16. Like I said before in the promotional topic, I am more than willing to translate the booklet if scans somehow come my way ^^ I would buy the album myself - nay, I NEED to buy that piece of art myself, but alas for the moment my cash flow is severely inhibited
  17. I will keep it local and attend Nova's Incident... It's a small festival that only lasts two days in the Belgian 'mountains'. It's also probably the only festival in Europe where Tsuyoshi Suzuki will play a retro-set
  18. Looking very good indeed, I like it!
  19. Stocking up on some newer Goa ^^
  20. And today's arrivals are some very long overdue purchases! (So far, so awesome ^^) (Still the most hideous cover ever) (Definitely one of the most underrated classics out there!)
  21. I mostly experience the same thing Rotwang mentioned. I generally invest some time into researching what album I want to buy and with the samples available and my experience (this relates to labels but also individual artists) I can mostly buy an album that is exactly to my tastes. If I review at all, it's to share my great experiences with an album I love.
  22. I'm going to buy it myself probably, but if you can scan the pages I'll translate it to English!
  23. What, already? I hope there's more cuz I was going to order my copy next week...
