Vibrasphere is one of my favorite progressive acts, their music is so laid back, really llke a warm blanket. Love this one too, the build-up is incredible and it's really chilled out. Great track, 8,5/10. (the track is hi-lari-ous to listen to while watching your signature btw )

It doesn't make any sense. Goa is Goa is Goa. You can argue that much goa trance made in the last few years of the nineties already showcased the trend of more mechanical/technical sounds and minimalism, which it would then morph into. But that's it really. If you try to effectively define the substyles of old-school goa trance you will end up with a different substyle for each artist (because every artist has his own sound, especially the old-school masters). To a certain degree I am definitely a supporter of the classification into different subgenre's, but to put a different pronoun before goa trance for every substyle it has is stupid. For me, genuine goa trance is as much Astral Projection's "Utopia" as is Hallucinogen's "Gamma Goblins" as is The Green Nuns of the Revolution's "Klunk" as is UX's "Dominion" as is BPC's "Crystal". Sure you can say about Crystal that it sounds much lighter and floatier than Dominion, but it's both genuine Goa Trance in my book.

One of my absolute favorites from Aes Dana. Monumental track with an unbelievable atmosphere... I was once listening to this album when it was raining like hell and there was a thunderstorm brewing. Right when Lysistrata began, the first thunder and lightning struck... It was magical! I know the name is from Greek mythology and it's aptly named because then it felt like I was at an epic Greek mythological battle. The chants are hauntingly beautiful, the drive feels very earthly. Great track, 9/10.

Hmmm, it's not a bad track, but I think the mixing could've been done a bit better, sounds really muddy. Maybe that was the intention. Melodies are pretty solid but the sample is rather cheesy, albeit cool-sounding. I'll give it a 6/10... There are better tracks... but also worse ones ^^ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOV6_CTtV-g

Just out of curiosity (because I own a copy so I'm not interested in getting another one): what happened to those? Were there that much contributors, or did everyone get 2-3 copies? Or did everyone get more copies to sell themselves, or maybe give away?

I wouldn't say that... FIlteria playing on Boom means quite a lot. I would say that especially Suntrip is pretty well known around the world.

Actually, I think that one of the most interesting features about this whole electronic psychedelic music is that it seems to be assimilating a lot of different genre's and add that 'psychedelic'-prefix to it. What that concretely means, nobody can really say I guess. It's the same with defining the word 'psychedelic', but I think it's exactly that kind of 'ineffability' concerning the nature of the music which sets psytrance (as the metagenre) apart from the rest of electronic dance music. -

To me they definitely are, there's enough psychedelic full-on and dark/forest. Especially forest like Derango is trippy as hell. I'm a supporter of the view that trance which is psychedelic in nature started with proto and early goa but then evolved to encompass a lot of different genre's all springing more or less from the same source. The logical next step is to call the metagenre psytrance and the rest full-on, dark, forest, suomi, goa, etc... Create a sort of umbrella-structure so to speak. -
Always fun to see how he takes subjective feelings granted as facts isn't it? OT.: What do you think of the Antares track I posted earlier radi, does that fit your taste of light goa?
