  1. We do still have summer festivals, but a lot less so than a few years ago. In two weeks there's an outdoor festival in the weekend which has afgin, filteria, luminus and dimension5/hunab-ku/elektron wave: http://www.solariumfestival.be/ Sadly our government is making it very hard for organizers to get the green light for such festivals, which is why they are diminishing in number.
  2. You definitely should! You're always welcome Maybe you should consider coming over for Fractal Gate this year? It's end of October and the line-up is fantastic... E-Mantra, Tim Schuldt Old School, Cosmosis Old School and Nebula Meltdown.. All live
  3. I guess Belgium is a great Goa country... We have an old-school party at least once a month (most of the time there are several a month) and apart from that we have some full-on (which often gets mixed with old-school too, at least on the big ones), and then some forest (which gets mixed with old-school too a lot) and the occasional Dark party. I guess Dark and Progressive get played the least, although I could be wrong.
  4. Artist: Various Title: Blacklight Moments Label: Suntrip Date: June, 2013 1. Wake Up And Smell The Ashes - Daimon 2. These Talking Machines - K.O.B. 3. Black Sun - Psychic Voyag 4. Viral Breath - Cosmic Dimension 5. Aramean Dreams - Khetzal 6. Emotional Overload - Javi and Sko0ma 7. Beyond Lightspeed (E-Mantra rmx) - Artifact 303 8. Naltayada - Skarma 9. Depth Of Consciousness -Mindsphere 10. Cosmic Fusion - Uth So here we are, the much anticipated new Suntrip VA. This has everything a new goa trance compilation should have: a couple of well known artists with superb to very good productions, the return of a thought-to-be lost old favorite and some new talent showcasing that we will have good Goa Trance for years to come. Personally, I love the way the tracks are placed here. Gong from twisty tunes over to more melodic tracks and then blowing up right in your face with larger-than-life melodies before easing you down to earth. So great job on this. On to the tracks then: Daimon opens this VA with a fantastic sample after which the track gets going and subtly adds twisted elements before churning out some acid lines to conclude the track. It's a good opener in my opinion, and further increases my interest in his debut under the Daimon moniker. The thing I like so much about him is that he always takes his time to build up his tracks, which works in a rather hypnotizing way, good energy build-up tracks. KOB doesn't really do anything for me until now, although this tracks is growing on me. Groovy and twisted it continues the build-up effort of the previous track. I’ll probably need to hear this on a big soundsystem to truly start appreciating it. Psychic Voyag makes his debut with a an interesting track, a good effort. His soundspectrum still needs some tinkering though as it somehow sounds flat and all very focused on one point which also muddles some of the melodies. This makes it somewhat tiring to listen to on headphones. Cosmic Dimension... My oh my what can I say, this is such a nice discovery! Can’t wait to hear more from them! Very immersive old-schoolish sound with nice acid lines and FX. This is the sound I love. More! Khetzal delivers another fantastic compilation track. Like on Twist Dreams, this one packs a lot of energy. I’m sure it will destroy dancefloors all over the world. Oh how I long for a second album... Javi & Sko0ma surprised me. Very good track! I love the atmosphere, which is a bit darker combined with those melodies. Very energetic as well. Well produced! E-Mantra remixes one of my favorite newer goa tracks of all time and does this pretty well. He takes out two melodies and puts them in the spotlight. It’s a good choice because this sets the remix apart from the original in a very distinct way. That last climax is fantastic. Skarma seems to be on a roll. I’m curious to see where his AP sound will go in the future. Very good melodic track with high energy. Wish to hear more of this guy as well. Mindsphere doesn’t need to prove anything to me anymore. Great great track, his melodies just make me leave this world. Love the kick. Uth has the honor of closing this superb compilation and does this in great style and elegance. I have been a fan of his since his wonderful psybient EP on Neogoa and am very very pleased to hear a goa track from him. Mellow, floaty and very well produced. Couldn’t have wished for a better ending. All in all I feel that Suntrip has nailed this compilation. Shaltu was a good effort but nowhere near as good as this. The variation between the tracks and the composition of newer and older talents is just right. I guess it’s all about taste, but it’s the subtleties that really make a compilation stand out I think. On to the festivals to hear these tracks being played out loud in the open!
  5. Did he get banned for that? On Topic: Haven't checked out too many releases this year, but for now my absolute favorite is the double Dimension 5 release!
  6. Like a hot and lazy summer day where everything just comes together and you disappear into absolute bliss... Not that goa though, but it's vibrasphere, make an exception!
  7. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fXtbLomdwA The name, the melodies...
  8. Please define 'a normal Goatrance compilation'. I think it's great. Shaltu started out great, the two first tracks are so good but in my opinion got a bit weaker after them. This is more of a real voyage to me, there are a lot of nice tracks and the way the tracks are placed creates a nice trip. Will post a ,ore in-depth review later on though.
  9. Etnica is still producing full-on under their Etnica and Pleiadians monikers. Or was this a trick-question?
  10. I also lost some through lending... I never see the guy anymore... I got his Filteria - Daze Of Our Lives and some petty good Full-On Comps in return though so I'm not going to complain
  11. My first goa/psy record I ever bought was Psykovsky's Da Budet, as I was more into Dark back then. Next up followed Radical Distortion - Psychedelic Dreams, Fraggletrollet - Playground of Spirit and VA - Temple Of One from glowing flame records. This was to gauge what I would like best. It turned out to be Radical Distortion, and the rest is history Still adore Da Budet though!
  12. I have the very cheesy dream that once upon a time, my great great grandson will discover a huge record-collection in the attic and in this way gets enchanted by the music, has a blast and as such grows more intimate with a great great grandfather, he has never known in person but now knows through the music I collected.
  13. I know exactly what you mean! Most of my friends don't listen to psytrance, so when I'm with them we listen to grunge and other kinds of rock mostly. Sometimes I listen to stuff like Tool or alice in chains as well, but other kinds of music generally don't give me what psytrance gives me. I find this very hard to explain to other people. It's not that I dislike other genre's (well, at least not all of them )... I feel that some classical is the most related to true goa.
  14. Fuck yes! I've been waiting for this ever since Black Hole blew me off my socks (in fact burned the socks too) on dimensional gateway.
  15. Sometimes there are weeks where I listen to Goa less, but at those times I listen to other electronic psychedelic music like psybient or psy-chill... The music has become much more than music for me, probably my only healthy (physically at least, not financially ) addiction Although I wouldn't call it an addiction anymore, but an energy-scource. This might sound cliche, as it's approaching that 'Goa is a way of life'-thing, but I can only say it really works for me... I haven't been listening to any other music not related to the psytrance-tree in the past 4 years with the exception of a small dose of classical/jazz/electro swing and I don't see myself growing tired of it any time soon either.
  16. A newer track, but none-the-less one of the most beautiful goambient tracks ever in my opinion: And another one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTCEUizPS_k
  17. Anyone else out there really enjoying Blinded Moon? I LOVE the lead melody, textures and the 'Aliens' sample is so spot on Became one of my favorites of them for sure.
  18. Aaaaaand here we go again! Eargasms incomming!!! Thank you so much once again Federico!
