i take everything back! i just came home form one of the worst psy parties i've ever been to. the music was 100% fullon with every third track a pop remix, every third track with IM style vocals and the rest 'generic', bearable fullon. no one tripping and drunk people falling all over the place. Bring on the darkpsy! i understand now the 'hate' towards fullon here on the forum the darkpsy crowd is loving and caring compared to that.

you're not alone. maybe you're also one of the D5>Pleiadians guys anyone who loves pleiadians will no doubt love this. it's good but not my style of goa trance.

wow, didn't see this one up to now. looking forward especially to the artha album and artifact303 ep. that artha liveset has been playing in my car for weeks

i did understand and agree with you, but was trying to funnily prove your point by mimicking the ingorant "obsessed with goa" guy

it doesn't matter how much they sell. it matters how much it is played at parties. over here they play progressive until like 4 or 5 people arrive at the party, then they switch to darkpsy. no change in music until the sun begins to rise - then they play even harder darkpsy (honestly WTF?!?). if it's an indoor party the venue closes at 6:00 or 7:00 while there's still darkpsy running. if it's an outdoor party they change to cheesy fullon at 7:00 and then to progressive at something like 8:00. at festivals i don't want to dance in the night anymore. how does that not kill the scene if there's some people who don't like dark? if it weren't for some good psychedelic progressive that's sometimes played instead of the housy stuff, i wouldn't bother going to festivals anymore. maybe it's different where you live. at a local darkpsy party you find 30-50% of people with camouflage baggypants and baseball caps, whereas at a progressive party the people look just like on the photo you posted. also the darkpsy parties are the ones where bags and clothes are stolen. doesn't happen at the (few! ) other parties. not if they whole psy scene from goa to progressive to darkpsy is only about 200 people where you live that example you have given is a weak one. that etnica track is rubbish compared to the marvellous pieces that are on Alien Protein or IFO. in respose to the original post: "Full On Basslines" agreed "Minimalism" yes and no. i like some laid back minimal progressive at daytime when it's too hot to be dancing, but still it has gone too far. "House, Progressive Techno, Tech House etc. influences Why?" agreed "No melodies in Darkpsy" agreed. there are some darkpsy tracks with nice melodies but i've never heard one of them at a party. Why everything must sound so earthly today?" yep. i don't like that ethno stuff. the dub stuff is nice though. the ideal combination is dub stuff with trancey spacey melodies like some ambient tracks from mwnn. i still like the non-dub stuff with spacey trancey stuff a lot. "Extreme bpm's 150 is good, 160 is good, 200 not like. The same with 120 bpm dance tracks. No thanks!" agreed. although i prefer 140-150. stomping is getting tiring with 160 "Obsession with Goa" no fucking way! +1; there is no better. Pharagonescia - Pharatropic is also a (lesser known, but) very good track with a lot of eastern influences. Shakta - Lepton Head (Deedrah Rmx), Crop Circles - Lunar Civilization and AP - Mahadeva also come to my mind, but i suspect you already know about those for fullon i recommend: Electric Universe - the Prayer; solid track with wonderful sanskrit chanting for darkpsy take: Psykovsky - Last Bus Madras

I love Prana - Cyclone and Pleiadians - I.F.O Dimension 5 - Second Phaze isn't bad either. but the cover is Dragon Tales is even better than these. so basicallly i like weird colorful art, preferably with fractals it's true that a lot of covers are of bad quality. astral projection's for example...

what's insane about that? 24 hours -8 hours of sleeping -2 hours of cooking and eating makes 14 hours of music whenever i have the time. obviously less when university starts again. i become insane when i cannot listen to good music for a day. i guess you could call me an addict

pleiadians is very good music with well constructed melodies that flow into each other. listening to the whole of IFO with headphones is a nice experience. but D5 on the other side is much more than that. take Transdimensional, put on your headphones and turn the volume up: after one or two tracks everything becomes soft and the sounds take on a three-dimensional quality, a sharpness and precision that IFO cannot deliver. the music almost begins to sound like if you're on acid. pleiadians may be nice to listen if you're on drugs, but with D5 you don't need drugs, the music itself gets you high. (i tried it yesterday, even second phaze can put you in a psychedelic state just like transdimensional) D5>Pleiadians! (listening to alien protein right now )

.rar -> having to use buggy third party tools .zip -> native support by the os for the codec i'd prefer apple lossless which of course isn't practicable here. i don't care if it's wav or flac. both lossless and and size difference is not that huge.

Dimension 5 - Transdimensional i always wonder why etnica/pleiandians get so much credit. it's really good music but to me it sounds a bit flat as if something was missing...

i do know some of that. have some sets by ekeaze and loved that stuff back when i was really into freetekno. but people say they go to a "acid party" even when you hear maybe 3 or 4 tracks with a 303 in one evening or even worse when they play (303-less) hardcore for the entire night.

when people say "acid" over here they usually mean freetekno, which rarely even has a 303 in it . how fucked up is that?

what is acid then by your definition? acid house, acid trance, acid techno, acid tekno, acidcore?
