  1. If you want technically accurate rips, be oldschool and use EAC http://filesharingtalk.com/threads/435208-Installing-configuring-and-ripping-with-Exact-Audio-Copy-(EAC) or XLD for Mac.
  2. I once wrote quite a harsh statement about new school goa trance, i think it's still on your discogs profile Joseph. It was the way i felt when i wrote it. By now the situation has changed in my opinion. Looking at the style from its beginning it's obvious that we have quite a lot of serious and good new school goa trance today. Excellent!
  3. For more organic/tribal/darkish progressive (similar to Zenon Records), i recommend to check Cosmic Conspiracy Records as well. Also other labels releasing this style are worth checking. Glitchy.Tonic, Melting Runes, NoQualms, Uroboros, Occulta, etc...

  6. Wow! Amazing how opinions differ to the extreme. I consider the 1st Shpongle album nothing less than a milestone in music history, including all ages, decades and genres. It's a pure vision made into sound. It's serious alien music for home listeners.
  7. Thanks Kris!! Exactly this. Also, in my opinion many tracks from famous and popular producers are just overproduced. This applies for Hallucinogen, Prana, Asia 2001, Dimension 5 (!!), doesn't apply for Etnica, Koxbox, Astral Projection, MFG. They have tracks that seem overproduced as well in some parts, but it somehow makes sense within the actual tracks. Anyway, of course this is very subjective.
  8. Well, 1st question here should/could be: Do these Hindu deities actually exist? Let's assume they exist. Obviously they don't really care about what's going on in this physical world. So maybe they just act as spirits, inspiring people to be creative and people place those religious pictures on their works without actually knowing why. Seems to be an explanation for me, as i don't believe in that hippie blabla that every human is a creator being. There's a huge difference between being creative and being an actual creator being... anybody understand what i'm talking about?
  9. 11. edit: my mistake anyway, some background info about the title: enitharmon is a major female character in william blake's mythology. she represents spiritual beauty and poetic inspiration. and btw, it's without a doupt the best oldschool goa set i recorded so far. enjoy the music!

  14. hey guys, some of you may know my oldschool goa and aussie prog mixes. i'm recently more on the chill side, never forgetting who i am of course, so give it a try if ya interested. including tracks by ott, carbon based lifeforms, shpongle, celtic cross, mystery of the yeti, tetrameth, bodh gaya, etnica, merkaba https://www.mixcloud.com/ake_melting_runes/the-paranoid-psychonaut-with-schizophrenic-tendencies/

    PSYchill?

ok by now i admit that ultimae stuff is at least serious trancey music in most cases, so it may be psychedelic for many people. and i like the 303 downtempo sound of CBL.

    PSYchill?

thanks a lot so far guys, lots of beautiful sounds to check. listening to Entheogenic - Spontaneous Illumination atm. quite shpongle indeed, makes me curious.
  17. i have a rather fresh one, mixed about a week ago: https://soundcloud.com/ake_gtr/derbesoundz

    PSYchill?

thanks so far guys! yeah of course i know about Posford/Ott, etc. and of course i always knew about Are You Shpongled and that it is considered to be a milestone, i just didn't look into it for some reason. i should give Seamoon a try for sure since Simon (real name) is somehow a member of Glitchytonic just like me. i checked Ott's Blumenkraft album but it became cheesy after a short while and i thought by me that Scientist did better dub music in the 80s. but i will listen to the other Ott stuff and also check out more Twisted stuff, thanks again!
  19. hey guys, feels a little weird to start a topic for this, but ok. this is about what you call psychill. so tbh, i completely ignored that subgenre until about 2 weeks ago. so i listened to the 1st shpongle album. yeah laugh at me, it's ok. anway, what a magic album! the term masterpiece is almost an understatement. then i checked TIP's downtempo album and also Mystery Of The Yeti, quite trippy as well, very good! so, what about today's "psychill"? i checked the stuff on Ultimae Records but i don't get it. i don't find much psychedelic elements in this music. it's well produced pleasant music but it's just Chillout, not Psychill for me. so is this Shpongle sound just dead? alien samples and shaman sounds, that's what i want when listening to psychedelic downtempo music.
  20. http://www.discogs.com/After-Sunset-Game-Over/release/682844 1st track is awesome, not crazy twisted psychedelic, rather hypnotic oldschool trance style.
  21. In Norse mythology, Vanaheimr is one of the Nine Worlds and home of the Vanir, a group of gods associated with fertility, wisdom, and the ability to see the future. On this compilation our focus lies on the smooth and funky side of psygressive music, while keeping a good balance between light and dark elements. Final tracklist: 01. Paracozm - Fractal Meltdown 02. Triptaktik - Natural Mineral 03. Reactant vs Malfunktion - Queries 04. Loagsta - Dissolve 05. Radioactive.Cake - Hangover Frequencies 06. Ellis Thomas - Missing Modula 07. Kromagon - Multiplex 08. Sporangia - Exploring The Unknown 09. Zeamoon - Silent Tones 10. BushMech - You Name It promomix: http://soundcloud.co...heimr-promo-mix
  22. it wasn't "party life" actually but it was "funny" indeed. we were high and drunk 24/7, also listening to gangsta rap and heavy metal music but mostly goa trance. no internet, no ipods and all that shit, just bongs, hash, beer and music. and oldschool video games. also lsd and coco now and then. we were really, really white trash, hahaha. and what's even more "funny", almost all people in our part of the city were like that, even those who looked like 100% geeks. i don't want to have all this today, but back then it was just wonderful. and most of today's goa trance doesn't sound like these "good old times", but The Inner Shift by Crossing Mind totally does which is great somehow!
  23. not trance music but THE BEST workout music track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Lb3MTlIrC4
  24. i want to say something about the album Crossing Mind - The Inner Shift. this is real goa trance! it's not "neo goa" or "new school goa", it's proper goa trance! congrats to Stephane Beze and Suntrip Records! quite some time ago i wrote: i didn't change my opinion on that at all. The great thing about The Inner Shift is not that all tracks on the album are perfect (they are not, at least not all of them), it's not the melodies, not the fx, not the ideas. it's simply the sound. hard to explain as i don't know anything about music production. for me it sounds like the producer installed a plugin or whatever to his production software that causes something like a dry, dusty sound. apart from that there are excellent tracks with great melodies and nice built ups of course but what makes this album so special for me is this specific sound that i tried to describe. i'm not saying that all the other newschool artists create bad music. all of them are certainly very talented, but The Inner Shift is the first modern goa trance album that really sounds like goa trance for me.
