  1. just checked samples. don't like BOTFB & Ka-Sol-Masters of the Outhouse at all, too heavy and loud for my taste. Mojo and Loopus In Fabula sound generally interesting, but it's not what i look for, seems a little too experimental. thanks anyway Ormion!
  2. hey the title basically says it. atm i'm just listening to oldschool goa and good psygressive, mainly aussie style. but i like to expand my horizon. so, what i'm looking for is psytrance without that boring typical machine gun bassline that you have here for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgeNJXy-XE0 my impression is that this is almost everywhere in the psytrance genre, hopefully i'm wrong. to sum it up, please recommend good psytrance that: - is from 2010/2011. - doesn't have the mentioned machine gun bassline all over it. - isn't newschool goa or dark psy. - is psychedelic but not too stressfull. maybe i already posted a similar thread a few years ago, don't remember. thanks for your help!
  3. http://www.ektoplazm.com/2011/brujos-bowl-900 also coming very soon hopefully: VA - Phobophobia by Cosmic Conspiracy Records. includes this track: http://soundcloud.com/slytrance/slytrance-optophobia-sample EDIT: noQualms records is another very interesting label. they already released one great compilation, quite underground though. it's definitely a label to look out for!
  4. oh, waiting for many CDs: Grouch album (Zenon Records) OneTastyMorsel album (Zenon Records) Deep Inside compiled by Ego T (Zenon Records) Low Frequency Oscillators compiled by Nolan Shmolan (Arkona Creation) Javanese Peacock compiled by Zooch (Arkona Creation) VA-Phobophobia (Cosmic Conspiracy Records) ... maybe i should also check some other styles again...
  5. i also have Asus Xonar Essence ST soundcard for PC, and AKG K-271 MKII headphones. for that price range you have a very good sound. BUT: if you listen to oldschool goa trance a lot and don't want to face the poor production on many tracks, it's advisable to play those on an ordinary laptop/portable player with Koss PortaPro or Koss the Plug headphones. that's what i do when listening to oldschool goa. well, actually i do this most of the time with any music as i don't want to sit in front of the PC all the time.
  6. yes. for example: Merkaba - Epic Life (listen on bandcamp) Merkaba - Visionary (listen on beatport or saikosounds) Merkaba - Hooked On Jungle (listen on beatport or saikosounds) Reactant - Cultivated Abductee (free DL on ektoplazm) Tetrameth feat. Shadow Fx - A Slippery Lynx (listen on beatport or saikosounds) ..stuff like that. i still think it's not what you are looking for but in my opinion this is deep trippy not too fast "non melodic" trance.
  7. well, progressive artists like Merkaba, Tetrameth, Reactant, etc certainly produce deep trippy not too fast "non melodic" trance, but i guess that's also not what you're looking for.
  8. i recommend After Sunset – Game Over track A. i can send you an MP3 file if you want to check. EDIT: also quite trancey even if labeled as Techno, Tech House: Mod.Civil – Einfachheit Gewinnt track A.
  9. hehe, i was annoyed by the name goa-getter after 4 years. it's so constricting. LvB is short for Lee van Beat (somehow inspired by Lee van Cleef). a friend of mine said it's a cheesy sounding name. i said yes, it's cheesy, but that's rather good than bad
  10. would like to have my username changed to LvB please. already PMed Ormion but no reply yet. ok yes, i'm an impatient pussy!
  11. * Title: Fox Mulder On Ecstasy * Date: 24 May 2011 * Genre: Goa Trance, Trance, Acid, Techno * Length: 70 minutes * Format: MP3 (V0) * File size: 127 MB * Equipment used: Traktor * Tracklist: 01. 12. i was expecting you to say that. well, it's cool and generous to offer WAVs for free. and i understand your point about this being a release. but you also know many people do put crappy low quality files on soundcloud, which is also ok because it's mainly for giving people an idea of the music i guess. i'm really wondering where to draw the line here. i also have a mixed set of aussie style prog on soundcloud, download enabled. i just recorded that set for my own pleasure and share it with people who are interested. does that make me an artist, a DJ and compiler? i don't think so, but according to your logic it does.
  13. heh, sounds quite strange to me. so actually we can take all full tracks, DJ sets, etc that are available for download and add them to discogs as proper releases. suddenly there will be lots of "new artists".
  14. oh yes? so a crappy 128 kbps MP3 file uploaded to soundcloud counts as proper release now? weird, really.
  15. as long as a track isn't available in different formats (MP3, FLAC, etc), it has not been released imo. EDIT: youtube, soundcloud, etc... no no no, that's not "releasing something". it's for giving people an idea about the tracks. digital online stores, also bandcamp, this is releasing something.
  16. Ake

    Good TV Series? Any?

Twin Peaks kicks ass for sure. The Wire and Rubicon are quite outstanding too. Also The Sopranos, but that's very old news i guess. Most funny show atm is certainly Family Guy.
  17. The point is that real oldschool goa trance from the 90s has a dirty and grimy undertone. it sounds like dirty bong water, like drinking canned beer in the morning, like smoking pot in public transit and not giving a shit about other passengers, like getting a blowjob while sitting drunk at the beach. "Neogoa" might be nice trance music, but it doesn't sound like all this. it rather sounds like non smoking flights, clean hotel rooms, diet coke and sex with condoms. that's why many people including me don't like it at all.

  19. so are we generally allowed to ask for vinyl rips here if the label doesn't exist anymore? seems like a change of psynews politics.

  21. released so far in 2011: Grouch - Further - tracks 1-3 are dub/downtempo, 4-10 are finest progressive psytrance. Merkaba - Rediscovery Reactant – Initial State Various - Perun Various – Spun Cycle upcoming in 2011 (hopefully): Pick - The 8th Wonder Of The World EP Various - Mechanics Of Awakening Pspiralife - Self Similar Various - Technoid Vision Various - Javanese Peacock Various - Low Frequency Oscillators OneTastyMorsel - Distorted Perception Of Sound Solar Records debut compilation of course there are also labels like Spintwist Records, Blue Tunes Recordings, Iono Music, etc, but i don't consider these as psytrance labels, even if their releases are often tagged as "progressive psytrance". and btw, buying releases from Wirikuta seems to be a risk these days: http://forum.isratrance.com/wirikuta-distribution/ greetings
