  1. i won't stop pointing this out: Symphonix, Neelix and similar artists do NOT produce psychedelic music and i think most of them don't even claim to do so. they produce quality trance music, progressive trance if you like. artists releasing psychedelic progressive trance today are Merkaba, Tetrameth, Slytrance, Radioactive.Cake, Grouch and so on. please stop calling everything psychedelic or i will start calling 2 Unlimited psychedelic!
  2. there are many labels releasing progressive you might enjoy. even if some were already mentioned here, i list them all together now with special hints if necessary: Zenon Records Cosmic Conspiracy Records Glitchy.Tonic.Records Uroboros Records Another Psyde Records No Qualms Records Electric Power Pole Records Soundkraft Records (-> VA - Spun Cycle) UP Records (-> Grouch album) Occulta Records Selknam Records Ovnimoon Records (-> VA - The Young Man On Acid) Jaira Records
  3. some released and upcoming music from 2012, all the same style more or less but hopefully some people here dig it: Dharana - The Other Side Merkaba - Ancient Relics Tetrameth - Suburban Sorcerer VA - Low Bass Within VA - Psychoactive World VA - Restekpa VA - The Flip Side VA - The Young Man On Acid Zeamoon - Sawtooth Surgery check em out!

  8. well, my point, totally "my point" about this is: look at those tracks, they are Goa Trance, rather non melodic, spooky, dark, whatever you like to call it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFLKvNh2T4w http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m03gv2jppRc and for me there is a certain connection between this style and recently called "zenonesque" music, i.e. Tetrameth, Shadow Fx, Grouch, Merkaba, also Sensient, Cujorius One, HypoGeo, Minimal Criminal, Reactant, Radioactive.Cake, Kained & Able, Zartrox, Onionbrain, Bufo, etc... actually i never understood why only hyper melodic trance is called "New School Goa", and other styles are called Progressive, Tech Trance, Dark, Suomi, etc. so, my recommendation is: check out the artists i mentioned above. some sound dark indeed, others sound more organic and funky. all are non melodic in comparison to New School Goa, and all these artists are very talented for sure. maybe you like some of their music.

    Discussing sports.

of course, as long as the current team of Spain remains more or less unchanged, and especially as long as Xavi and Iniesta are in the team, they are untouchable. unless they don't put 100% effort into the matches, in that case Germany or Netherlands might have a chance. but England!? LOL, the current british team couldn't even beat a well organized team of amateurs.
  10. * Title: 5-methoxy-dimethylrhythmine * Date: July 2011 * Genre: psygressive * Length: 73 minutes * Format: MP3 (V0) * File size: 132 MB * Equipment used: pioneer CDJ-350s/DJM-350 listen and download this is sort of a remix of a previous set, tracklist/track order slightly different. tracks by Merkaba, Tetrameth, Moses, BrothersDarkness, Shadow Fx, Minimal Criminal, Grouch. labels: Zenon Records, Crotus Records, noQualms Records, Cosmic Conspiracy Records. all respect goes to the artists and lables. peace!
  11. no, in fact it can be fun. fun, and that's it. it's not great music for me in a serious way.
  12. as i see it, IM took the style of AP, MFG, Indoor, also Nervasystem, Slide and others, and then simply added some sort of pop music approach. and voila, there you have the unique IM sound. btw, i'm not saying it's impossible to enjoy their music. earlier today i listened to Dracul (on Classical Mushroom) because of this discussion here. and right after that i listened to Muse Breaks Rmx, and then Fast - Transmission, Binary Finary - 1998, RMB - Spring (Vocal Mix)... it was not a coincidence that i picked those tracks after listening to IM
  13. i would like to know since when IM fans are listening to goa/psytrance. my impression is that most of them were actually introduced to goa/psytrance by IM and then also listened to older stuff. am i wrong?
  14. don't know man. maybe i'm just ignorant and stubborn. i just can't take the music seriously. maybe it is amazing and psychedelic in certain moods. for example i'm able to enjoy Gigi D'Agostino in certain moods, but i would never take him seriously as an artist.
  15. it's ridiculous really. taking IM seriously in a goa/psytrance context (from the beginning) is like taking Will Smith seriously in a Hip Hop context or taking Rick Astley seriously in a Synth Pop context. and this is not about matter of taste, it's simply about realizing obvious facts.
  16. hmmm, interesting topic. don't wanna ba a smartass, but what does 'Progressive' mean here? is it about progressive psytrance, or progressive trance in general, psy and/or not psy? 1-2 years ago i changed my definitions about what people call psyprog or psygressive. for me it's the australian style (not necessarily aussie labels/artists only) that is progressive psytrance, simply because for me it's psychedelic. i mean labels like Zenon, CCR, etc and artists like Tetrameth, Grouch, etc. Most artists/releases listed here are not progrssive psytrance for me, rather progressive trance or progressive techno with a little psy influence maybe. and that doesn't mean it's bad music. it's just not what i call psychedelic. ok, i will list 2 Top 5s: Top 5 progressive psytrance releases (no particular order): Shadow Fx - Direct Influence Tetrameth - Psychological Pyrotechnics Tetrameth - The Eclectic Benevolence Grouch - Further (album) Merkaba - Awaken Top 5 progressive trance releases (no particular order): Various - Tshitraka Project - Festival Compilation Vol. 4 Bitmonx & DJ Fabio - Plugged Zolarium - Prototype Subsistence - The Condition Of Existence Various - Straight Forward

  20. yeah i actually mean every 16th note bass, i don't like this at all. it's ok and even can do the trick if it's for a short part of the track like 30-60 seconds or so. but having this through a complete track makes no sense at all imo, unless it sounds so "far away" that you don't really notice it.
  21. checked some talpa tracks, not bad indeed. it's quite in ya face trancey progressive style, not very twisted or deep imo, but certainly not bad party music. anyway, interesting that it obviously isn't that easy to give recommendations that meet my wishes. that probably means that my impression about that machine gun bassline being almost everywhere in modern psytrance is correct. maybe that could be a major problem of today's psytrance. in the 90s when psychedelic trance was more popular than today you had more variety i guess.
  22. yes, i know this album. it's not bad. i also liked the Headroom album from 2008. it had some machine gun basslines, but not that dominant. and just for the case i didn't make this clear: i'm not looking for progressive psy. i like that style (if it's good), so i have a good overview on it already. not referring to you Insejn, the Loud album is a little proggy but i wouldn't call it progressive psy, just psy
  23. already ordered, Zenon is one of my favorite labels anyway. that's why i was asking for regular psytrance that meets the mentioned requirements. thanks though
