Klaus Schulze isn´t ´the´ pioneer... there isn´t such a thing.

It´s hard to mention just a few, but I´ll try...

There are many artists who made one or a couple of great ambient/chill/whatever albums that I like.

But I don´t rate any of those higher than (only equal to) the best music by

Klaus Schulze

Pete Namlook

Steve Roach

And because they are the ones who have made so much music that I like (also quite a lot that I don´t like btw), they deserve to be mentioned first.

In this list I chose Deep Dive Corporation, I think they are very underrated and their first album is a masterpiece, but equally first is Shpongle of course :) And well, Asura - Code Eternity is great too but not really chill/Ambient imo :)

The best chill (without rhytm) is Hesius Dome - Farewell Waltz imo (just released on psy harmonics) and I also want to mention Amaruvision, their album was very good too imo

Klaus Schulze IS the Pioneer of modern AmbIent Music. I was surprise lately (and still) to ear the track Totem from 1973 and think that It could easily be a track from Nowadays. There is no electronic artist from this period able to concentrate such a technic and such a structure at the same time. Even Tangerine Dream sound outdating versus Klaus, though he has been member of the band in the very beginning, in 1969.

I always have a really hard time to choose ´best ever´ artists...

vibrasphere chill tracks are absolutely amazing

sandspider is very good stuff too

nada (and abakus) have really gotten to me too...

ott rocks too!

angel tears, inspite of the damn ugly covers have amazing music...

and promising debut artists: kaya project, androcell, bluetech and kukan dub lagan

for sure more that I forgot but these I mentioned are very good and I´ve listened many many times without getting bored =)

oh yeah and a few days ago I saw a live from ooze, and was stunned... I mean, I was on acid, which made me notice some little details and layers in different ways, hehe.. but it was incredible, very very nice build-ups, amazing visuals (I specially remember some underwater sounds mixed with flying metallic birds haha)
