  1. This is also where I started! The late-night goa mixes by a DJ called Max on France's Fun Radio around 1996-1997. At the time I was more into the uplifting commercial trance like the stuff they played a the street parades in Germany and Switzerland. Then I picked up Hallucinogen's LSD in a shop..... and got immediately hooked. It sounded so much deeper than anything else I'd listened to before. I found it incredible that I could listen several times and find new stuff each time. Also, I'd never had much of an appetiter for dancing (except as a child), but trance was very very different in that respect!! For 2-3 years, I was the only one of my friends who liked electronic music, but I steadily increased my friends' love of trance and finally got them going to parties, in the UK at first, and then internationally (Boom, Samothraki, etc..). Commercial trance - Hallucinogen - Pleidians - Total Eclipse - Logic Bomb - and on chill-out Shpongle and Liquid Sound Design - (zoom to the present) Khetzal, Artifact 303
  2. What a cracking album. Pops your ears open with waves of positivity. I haven't posted here for years, but I felt that I just had to praise this one - almost a democratic obligation given the number of people searching erringly for decent goa
  3. a melancholic chill-out track: Doof - The dark secret of the manky fudge pocket
  4. "Lurker" sounds pretty negative to describe people who like to listen/read but either don't have the time, don't want to or can't (lack of confidence in English) make a response of their own. I don't like that word. PS: I was a "lurker" until recently, and proud of it.
  5. Doof - The dark secret of the manky fudge
  6. OTT Future Sound Of London Shpongle Youth and compilashions: Liquid Sound Design: Mana Medicine, Wider Horizons, etc... Oh, and Mystery of the Yeti 1,2.

(=$100 or £50) for 9 hours of trance (and that's if you get there early!) I guess trance artists have to make their money somewhere, but his is extreeeme., even for big guns like Mr Posford and GMS. grrrr! boycotting them

  11. Oh no... bad news... I'm going on a 3-4 month tour of india, after which I'm going to try and settle in Paris, with little money and no job. that sounded ok, but without trance parties, no way!
  12. I'm moving to Paris soon. Is there a rave scene there? I particularly love outdoor forest parties. Are there any nice ones organised around Paris in the summer? (like London's ID-spirla/liquid connective) Have you ever been to a French rave? I'm desperate, tell me about it!
  13. Going to India too (Late Jan - April/May?) Rajasthan - Dehli - Agra - Darjeeling - Calcutta - Pondicherry - Kerala - Goa - Mumbai - Manali. Are any of these places (except for goa) likely to have some open-air parties? Can you recommend any area in particular? I'm looking for a natural, hippy/happy vibe. Also, do you know what my chances are of getting caught smoking dope out there? And is it widely available for purchase generally speaking? (You see, I've been living in Japan for 2 years, cannabis being so expensive here, I feel an urge to make up for my loss somehow )
