Took me many years to understand the ring there, it's in fact a chillum from upside angle. (LOL, I didn't have the original and thus didn't check the back cover... )

I will be attending and playing in Solar Systo Festival near St. Petersburg this year, in the beginning of may. Probably that's it.

How old were you when you started listening to goa/psytrance?
Oopie replied to XoArK's topic in General Psytrance
Must've been 11-12 when I first heard proper goa trance. Got full into it at 13 years of age. -
Which VST do you use for GATE?
Oopie replied to Arronax's topic in Music Making and Production/Industry
Very decent tool, I often use it as well. -
Yes nice stuff Antic! I know you're a busy guy but if you feel like it I definitely encourage you to do more music.

Remixes that sound completelly different that the original tracks

All the three of them are absolutely top shelf material! TIT being in my humble, objective, perfect opinion slightly above the other two containing only brilliant tracks. I can honestly say to agree with the discogs ratings on this one: Another World Avg Rating: 4.49 / 5 Ratings: 451 Dancing Galaxy Avg Rating: 4.55 / 5 Ratings: 479 TIT Avg Rating: 4.67 / 5 Ratings: 450 Ok, time to stop derailing this topic.

That's their best. Good job.

Why isn't this guy ever getting any attention? He's been posting good stuff here for a year or two now. His style is a bit homogeneous, forest psytrance with good twist. Reminds me of earlier Hux Flux. Check it out he's giving it out for free.

Excellent!

Planet BEN & Climax Absolüte (forgot which tracks) "We live double lives with insects and beautiful women" Green Nuns - Ring Of Fire (?) "OK Space Cadets, prepare to hurtle thru the cosmos!"
-
The best one is the digital only "remixed & unreleased". It has a couple very nice moments.
-
Space Dwarfs is the one for me. Also the Space Tribe rmx of it (SD) is very decent, in case you haven't heard it.

I'd certainly like to believe this is not the case. I do have to agree about the point about stagnation though. I don't personally like almost anything that's coming out these days. I'm often asking to myself is it the music or just me? Would I put on some old school record and I realize that there's still deeply rooted love for goa trance, just the modern aesthetic of it I'm somewhat tired of. What's missing a lot of times: 1) Proper build-ups/story 2) Melodic ear 3) Proper mix of effect sounds and melodies (like Hux Flux - Time Slices, Psychopod - Dreampod) I'm soon releasing my 2nd album, there's a bit of goa there too. I've really put a lot of work into it, trying in my own way to say how goa trance could be these days. But more later about that...

Well, it was the last vinyl only from Doof (the same goes for Cosmosis, DE, Ushuaya, Hiscore & Gangguru) so it be a closure of some kind. Yes the track is very repetitive, but in my books a fantastic one with a clear motive to hypnotize the dancer. Very glad myself it was included and enjoy 19/20 tracks on this compilation so yeah need to agree; it's probably the best in the series so far!

Oh yes. Good memory! Definitely one of my favourite tracks.

Each to their own of course! Depends of one's motives to make music in the first place. But let's say you're a producer who is in it for creative purposes, then I'd say do all kinds of weird s*** as long as you can, as it develops the talent for broader composition skills in the end. After making music for a year or a couple, anyone's bound to find their signature sound and tracks would automatically start to sound a tad more homogenic in nature.

I mix spontaneously these days, maybe there's a track or two I've got in mind but other than that I'll just see what happens. I used to prepare the tracklist like a week in advance, oh the madness. Hah, you know, me + Paul Eye and a friend of ours we organised a retro goa party last summer, lasting for two days. We played on both nights. I remember there might've been like 1-2 tracks I played both times (Subcouds - On Red (1999 pHlatline Mix), Logic Bomb - Neighbour of The Beast??) so I don't really stress about it any longer.

Not an expert on the subject, but I did have 'Seance' and remember thinking, it's good for what it is - although I'm not a darkpsy guy. Recently I bumped into an artist with a similar, thoughtful style. You might like this: https://www.discogs.com/Kala-Cosmic-Caravan/release/7981628

UX – Audissey (Live & Beyond) - Anjuna Records
Oopie replied to Anoebis's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
Not be be a review section of course, but it's a highly musical album that, I suppose, would satisfy any UX fan. I enjoyed listening to it throughout.
