love it, cant see why youd call it commercial though, I have yet to hear anything like this. Sure theres others which use similar bass structure, but so what? Mozart, Bach, Vivaldi, they all used the same instruments.

the same thing occured to me after posting that, I thought particularly of Faerie Dragon's compo Squeech. Seriously strange stuff, and yep, not always 4/4. And, if I remember correctly, which I may not, Bodhisattva 13:20 played a tune (live) which contained a section of a very odd timesig, and it sure was strange... but most of the song was 4/4.

Discovalley has a new release with another Candy Power track, dont know about an album though. Id love to hear it! Dominator's album is a good one as well, listening to it, then Candy Power, you really hear the Dominator influence. crazy stuff.

Thats what an opinion is. And seriously, come up with something better than "they destroy trance"... <_< <_< At least say why. and, see that button on the left side of the keyboard? The one under the tab (usually has 2 arrows pointing 2 ways), which is under the ~ button. It usually says "Caps Lock", and there is usually three little lights on the keyboard that light up. If, when you press the "Caps Lock" the light goes on, that means every letter you type will be CAPITALS. Press it again, if the light goes out, you are now in lowercase. Know it. Learn it. Live it. that is all.

Back in June 06, I got to see Jens and Ola down by LA, along with Alien Mental, Polyphonia, Horror Place, and Fractal Cowboys as well as others... Was going to be a bigger party but apparently it didnt work out that way. Still, the promoters did their damnedest! I wanted to give it the acid test as was mentioned, although it happened that the acid came by near the end of their set. They played a dawn set starting in the dark moving to the sunrise... Wonderful to see them do their thing. The acid started to kick in right as Derango was transitioning to Fractal Cowboys (who pass the acid test with an A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++!!!!!). I ended up in the tent completely out of myself. I couldnt even MOVE, the music was so trippy! danced longer that party than ever before. Looking back its defintely the best party Ive been to, best lineup IMO (I know the majority of psynews is averse to dark), most fun yet. This year, SoulSync 2, this time its gonna be a 2 nighter for sure!! Whoo hoo! 2007 will be a great year.

his earlier work was indeed much darker, check out the track "I Feel" on the Inti Raimy compo Theta Frequencies, definitely much darker. The album was a surprise for me after his older stuff, but IMO its a good one. And who cares about the name? At least hes not called "apsolute fullon killargh trance". As TranceChick said, "versatility is key!" Variety is the spice of life. Im sure even producers get tired of the same old sound sometimes.

I dont think he was trying to be commercial. I think he just wants to show us he can make other styles and still keep the oCeLoT sound! But, like Amphiton said, I havent listened to it much after I bought it. (I got it at a party in California, Aaron played a morning set but *&@(*Y$%@()*$ I was ASLEEP....)

And MAYBE YOU NEED TO STOP COMPARING IT TO STUFF FROM THE 90s!!! Thats like comparing a rowboat to a tank. End rant. My worst listen has to be the Enigmatic World Israel compo which Psyshop "Slipped" into one of my orders (see, they hate it too). Even that wasnt so bad. But, those releases from Gandhi back in the 40s were the apsolute KILLARRRKGH. Everything since then is jsut shite.
