  1. I dont really buy stuff just to show support unless I actually like the music. Though I do feel I should buy American trance just because theres not too much of it and a lot of what is out there (Mubali, Xyla, Ghreg, Bluetech, Chromatone, etc) is really good IMO.
  2. Antix-Twin Coast Discovery track 7-QUiet is the New Loud just watched their video for Le Lascard on their site. Funny to see lipsyncing to trance vocals...
  3. Orestis is good as usual, the Dark Elf track reminds me of some kind of psy-jungle or something, I like it. Jellyheadz always make it insane, MDS has another nice one here! Nice compo indeed.
  4. has anyone actually discovered any psychedelic electro-trance? I mean not just influenced.
  5. I have a Korg MicroKONTROL, it works for me, it has 8 faders, 8 dials, and 16 buttons on a pad. The problem is the tiny keys. Though I usually dont use it to play, just sequence. The 16 button pad is handy for triggering loops in Ableton, though I havent used it much in Renoise, which is what Ive been using. The faders and dials can be set up in 128 different presets, ie one for each softsynth, then one for the master mixing board, etc. I havent had the chance to use it to its fullest yet.
  6. YOU LOOK GREAT TODAY, tracklist! Nice tunes! Many of my favorites up there. will DL when not at work:)!
  7. I have 2 mixes uploaded to Mixupload. I think mixupload requires login info, however. They're both full power psychedelic ("Dark"). Go to www.mixupload.com look about halfway down the front page, on the left, find the psytrance link. A list of mixes comes up, my mixes are; Endoscopy Flying Backwards My name is Mudpeople. Tracklists accompany the mixes! Flying backwards made it onto Triplag's rotation, thanks to FungusOK for pointing out where I needed improvement! more mixes will be rotated in, I only have 200mb of space. These are already somewhat outdated, Ive practiced hard and long since then. Will post more links here!
  8. No trance in OH? One of my favorite producers, Xyla, just moved to Cleveland! Check forum.isratrance.com, in the north american section. For some reason Isra seems to be where most people post party info. Dont have any suggestions not already listed.
  9. that NHJO quote might as well be a rap.
  10. check these labels: Aleph Zero Ajana Ultimae Chillcode Celestial Dragon most of these label's releases are really nice. (www.psyshop.com if you didnt know already)
  11. not bad, not too great. I think Shulman, Bluetech, even OTT is better. Thats just IMO.
  12. do you know of any examples? Id like some electrotrance.
  13. yeah. But is it possible, at all, to make electro-trance?
  14. Behind Blue Eyes-As Sugar Dissolves (Iboga) Progressive psychedelic This is my best example of groovy, deep progressive. At times the sounds remind me of darkpsy sounds, though subdued and minimal. I get tired of prog that moves so far away from the rest of psytrance that its not really psychedelic anymore. BBE sure know how to keep it trippy as hell, without resorting to full-powered mayhem. Reminds me of Osiris Indriya's set at Symbiosis (hes a label rep for Iboga, so, yeah...). Nice stuff to dance lazily in the midday.
  15. Ticon's latest has some real electro influences. Not just the bass. Shit reminds me of commercials from childhood in the 80s, b-boys in their jumpsuits with the three stripes breakin it down on a piece of cardboard taped to the sidewalk. Ahhhh, youth.
  16. we usually call them losers, or posers, here. Or shmosers, nosers, blosers, snosers, etc. (not really) Ghetto wannabes. The line, at least where Im from, between ravers, chavs, and the whole hiphop thing is kinda blurry. Raving chavs on way too many pills, the mainstay of the Reno Nevada EDM scene. Ask them if they like the music, they say, "Yeah, I love techno!" Its all tech to them. Hardhouse tech. Psytrance tech. Breakbeat tech. Etc. tech. chavs.... thats the best term for them. I cant think of what we in the US would call them, though Im sure someone out there knows a term. Chavs they will be, to me. My brother once had a chav roommate. Always talking about how much grafitti he wrote. Always talking about how "hard" he was, and "You dont know me, Im crazy, motherfucker!" and the ever-clever, "What!?" Couldnt chill at that place, Chavboy would be asking for a smoke or a few bucks for a beer. Dole scum, his mom had it worked so he got money for being "crazy", State Subsidized Income. Half of that went into his mom's pocket, the rest went into Chav's stomach or nose. ended up splitting on my brother, leaving him to pay the full rent, with a bunch of garbage in the house. Fucking chav, if I see him Im gonna bust him right in the teeth. Although, Ive heard he got caught doing graffiti and should be on his way to prison. He got CAUGHT, like serious, a detective came to my brother's and demanded all of Chavboy's notebooks, markers and paint. Seeya in hell chav fucker.
  17. Id have to say Brethren are taking it up a notch. Clean production, melodies, stomping bass. But Im not so up-to-date on SA stuff.
  18. i havent heard too much hydraglyph but what I have heard i like, so another +1 for them. Id also like to nominate DMMT. I like the nice grooving feel of their stuff. And, Im a Doors fan since I was 13, their remix of Break on Thru is nice.
  19. Xtra Unit is Phatmatix and Triskell This was my favorite track at one point, though the backstreet sample always gets to me, and its right before the song really starts to rip, with the metallic "tunnel thru space" sound right after that break. It sounds like a clip from a movie, where one character is messing with the radio in a car, "I dont like uncomfortable silences..." Its hard to listen to that track, whenever I play it I have to cut the mids or mess with the wah FX on the cdj at that point. Its almost embarassing to hear that crap in a trance song.
  20. Tegma-50,000 watts (LimeLight 2-Tribal Vision) Love Tegma, such a warm sound, makes me feel all cozy and warm on a cold November day. Sorta electro-ish as well.
  21. Antix-Twin Coast Discovery Nice morning progressive. Ive been developing quite a taste for Iboga records.
  22. Whats wrong with liking full power as well as progressive? I play both. Im not kosher though. Cloven hooves.
