Jim Morrison's posthumous spoken word album, An AMerican Prayer. A great piece of work with music by the Doors, first released in 1978. http://www.discogs.com/release/692394 If you've ever seen the Doors movie, you've heard some of the stuff on there. The song at the end, when its panning all thru the Pere Lachaise cemetary, thats the title track "An American Prayer." I grew up on the DOors. Love LOVE love it! Morrison was disillusioned, because as the Doors singer, everyone expected him to be the Lizard King, wasted all the time. He wanted to be accepted as a real poet, but no one took him seriously during his life. Ive only had one encounter with a party full of idiots, which was Tshitraka Project 2005, but it sure didnt stop me from having a blast! In the US the only time I saw the "idiots' come out of the woodwork was Symbiosis, which is a mutligenre festival. Hippies and breakbeat-elite... But EVERY psytrance party Ive been to around here was good. No elitism at all!

I always think, when someone is saying how stupid or lame another is for liking certain music, that I am the only one who gets to tell me what I do and don't like. If you dont liek it, COOL! Go find something you DO like. I like Derango. Im not an idiot. And I can hear melodic elements in their music.

Some of the voice samples (Lester Grinspoon? someone talking about cannabis... )sounded to me like they said "psychosensory manifold", so thats what I called it. Heh, I always feel compelled to mention how I feel about Vegetal: He felt like he wanted to have politically charged samples in his music. So he did. I can dig it, for one, I was once one of the RATM listening, Fuck-the-pigs yelling sign-carriers, so I can relate to the things said. He felt like those were good things for people to hear. Personally it never bothers me so much! Personally I agree all those, "lets get wasted" type samples are pretty over and done with. One that always gets me (and apparently they didnt know who it was when they included it in their tune) is the N-sync or who the hell ever in Xtra Unit-Mutant Rebellion, right in the middle of the break.... Yechhh. I never want to play that song at a party because of that. Dont want anyone to get the wrong idea. Which sucks because its a good song otherwise!

well if it makes you so uncomfortable to listen to it, why do you listen to it? I would recommend anyone serious about discovering something new, to listen to this album, and listen WITHOUT EXPECTATION. As if you had never heard anything remotely close ever. Its not Derango's fault if you dont liek it. And your dislike does not make it truth! If you cant listen to it without thinking, "This isnt like this other song" or something like that give Derango the professional courtesy of NOT listening to their stuff, and basically ignore it. "It hurts when I do this!!" Well I think you know what the Doc would say. YOU Cant understand. ok. Well. Results speak for themselves. When I saw Derango the dancefloor was mroe packed than at any time in the night. Thats no measure, though, as you know theres a ton of wankers out there who will dance to anything. Tumult has sold quite a few copies. Also no measure of how good an act is. But Derango has presented something new. If you cant hear that maybe you should (Seriously) get your hearing checked. If "stupid" sound fx get so on your nerves what are you doing listening to psytrance? I could say that theres pretty much NO psytrance which is actually psychedelic, that has no sound fx. This one will be forever in my heart! Lovely, strange, and (unless you have hearing deficiencies) wierdly melodic.

like the sounds! Bass sounds nice and clean! percussion could stand out a bit more but I think its fine like it is. Keep going!

nice track! One suggestion of mine would be to maybe eq the percussion a bit? It seems to blend together a bit in there. Could just be my computer however! Good one though! Nice and full of power.
