  1. I love how every topic in the anouncements forum that has the word "goa" in it gets 10-20 more page views and posts than any other kind of topic Will grab this as soon as I get home. Thanks for putting this together Filipe, hey keep in touch man - bobby
  2. Aeros

    Ticon - 2AM

This shouldn't be at all the grounds on which we listen to an artist... "atleast they are not infected mushroom / skazi"
  3. I like how this thread has turned out We need to promote the good music out there, make people aware of it, it gets so overshadowed by the other music.
  4. I'm actually fairly optimistic, happy even that this low quality music is dieing out, we can only listen to this same bassline for so long afterall. I think we'll finally see a rift in the scene. It can't possibly go on longer, the israeli scene and those who copy it will follow skazi and infected mushroom and dali and the others doing their nu rap metal europop, and maybe finally we can get some good and inspired music again not this horrible flood of low quality and average music that all sounds the same. The styles will split and us psychedelic crowd will rebound into the next sound that appeals to our palette. I think we'll see a new age of diversity and inspiration, with more varied styles being played and more expiramentation on less commercial sounds. so long as all the DJs don't burn out...but then maybe they should, maybe its time for a fresh generation to decide what is good music since alot of the djs and producers really have been failing at that. I also think the Vb-1 bassline synth should be boycotted from psytrance, how about we go back to the days of having to actually program your own bassline on a track to track basis - a world of possibility explodes from there. I really think the VB-1 "full-on" bassline has killed psychedelic music. This thing literally makes one sound and its been overused 10 times more than even I thought it could go on for. I'm going to be really happy when its gone! Prog is doing it right, and currently some of the best music is in the prog scene right now. It is good but it is not the reason we party... I'm very optimistic about the future, maybe in part because I have the ability to make my own tracks if I get fed up with whats out there. Actually this was the very reason I started producing. I had finally made it around to my first party only to discover that the original sound that got me into the music (goa) was completely missing. Thats fucked up, someone has to do something about it I thought. So why don't we? What are we waiting on?
  5. I mean it better matter if you can drop 100k on a studio like that. I guess I just see it like...okay say you're building birdhouses, but instead of actually building them you spend all your time putting new tools in your shed, occasionally taking pictures to show to people how you've got a better tool shed than they do. Theres also no way you can master and learn to program all of those synths, but then I guess to some these are toys rather than instruments. Fair enough It can be pretty fun, I just seem to associate them with making music more than playing with knobs.
  6. But the real question is, doe she actually make any music in that room?
  7. Ah, if only it was in english Afgin I really appreciate what you are doing, keep at it! We'll create our own happyness.
  8. Total dancefloor devastation. A sonic nuke, absolutely killarg
  9. Beautiful track Afgin
  10. Great interview alot of cool information, always nice to see what those guys think.
  11. Beautiful artwork for the cover! I love the style suntrip does for their compilations.
  12. Yes. And Raja Ram was on the flute again... ...for 5 tracks
  13. Again, yeah
  14. Looks like both those men fiddle more than just a violin...
  15. Yeah milkdrop just got to version 2 and has an all new engine, mindblowing effects even on the simple ones. Its one of the only visualizers to use your 3d graphics hardware, so thats one reason why its so smooth and complex.
  16. Try encoding in vbr (variable bitrate), and say like minimum 64 maximum 256 (or 320) or something. Should average out at like 200kbs yet sound like 320. Most things that can play mp3 have no problem with vbr. Winamp can encode in vbr so use that to rip.
  17. Your music is good Cosmo Circle and I want to hear more Take my comments with a pinch of salt as they're only opinions, to which I'm entitled to and so are you Well if you look at this way, if you have fun doing this, and you always strive to make a good track its actually inevitable that you'll become pro. One never gets worse the more they do something, they can only get better. I didn't mean for my comments to sound harsh or condescending, I guess what I'm saying is I look forward more to hearing new kinds of music rather than what's been heard and done by so many people already.
  18. Just wondering, has anyone figured out what the samples say in leap of faith? I'm not going to tell you... but i'm curious none the less =)
  19. The end of Return sounds promising, i'd take off on that direction - more emphasis on the melodies rather than letting the bass be the only one driving the track. Cyan has a good feeling too, my favorite of the two. I do have one big problem with your music though, and that is the bassline. Call me opinionated but how much longer do people think they can ride this full-on bass? Its been 5 years now and some 5,000 tracks with exactly the same VB-1 bassline, no I don't care that you raise the 3/4 and 4/4 note up to the next octave, or virtually anything you can do like that has already been done a million times, unless you have 16 note long sequences with very complicated rythms. Set yourself free Expirament, find inspiration and let it flow through. What fun is it making sounds that are like all the rest? The bassline is the rythm of the music, the heart of it, if you will. Now this is my opinion, please don't get offended. You've succeeded in making good to decent tracks in the psytrance / full on formula. My problem is that its 2008 and that we've heard it already a million times, and I believe you can bring something new and wonderful to the game. Surprise us. You want to make unique music right? You are doing it already, except that you feel you need to make your bassline like everyone else's in order for it to sound like full on. I'm going to be a dick by saying this but I barely hear the goa influence you claim. I know why too...its because you haven't set yourself free in thinking what you "need" to do to make a psychedelic trance track. Truth is, nowhere does it say that you "need" certain elements to make it a psytrance track. If I remember correctly the original glamor of this genre was exactly that it is unpredictable and freeforming. GMS killed all that though, and the hundreds that started copying. I'm seriously going to start a petition one of these days to get people to stop using VB-1 in psytrance.. Good luck with the music man

  21. Holly hell, el brujo, I'm jealous of that setup Its so hard to find a sturdy long desk too
  22. Winrar? http://www.rarlab.com/ Will listen to this soon Jikkenteki
  23. And now for some recent work. Aerosis - Desert Metaphor - 10:15 - 144 bpm Desert Metaphor is a night style track, it progresses very slowly and tells a long and twisted tale. At times dark, at times mystic, and all done with a modern approach and influence. People who liked Contorsion should be happy with this one. Check it out at Beatbiz.net
  24. No its not... but okay thats my opinion now
  25. I know what you mean When the beat drops and then suddenly there is a sample that is extremely clever or relevent to whats going on in the dancefloor or your mind. Tough to really get a good one though - far too many are too in your face or say extremely generic shit about the DJ droppin da bass or where are you DJ kind of shit that makes my ears vomit a little... I don't have a reportior of tracks doing this I can start naming off though, since these moments are just a passing smile or two, though some of them out there have been really profound and send a chill down your spine. I know there are some great ones in shpongle and mystery of the yeti, 12 moons, and a small cache of other artists. Usually its always best when its subtle, and not some epic story or someone shouting generic house kind of stuff, or the obligatory sci-fi movie quote. Or matrix stuff.
