MPRCD03 - VA - Human Hyperactivation
Aeros replied to Metapsychic_Records's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
Yes, and I agree with him. There is virtually no difference between VBR mp3 and wav. Technically yes, virtually no. The fidelity of your speakers will make a far far FAR greater difference in quality than the difference in quality high quality mp3 vs wav does. MP3 works by dithering out the very high frequencies (between 16khz and 22khz) - these are frequencies that most people cannot even hear with their own ears - frequencies that most sound systems (that you can fit in a building) cannot even render. VBR or 320kb Mp3 however, does not dither until about 20khz - the result as said many times is the difference is so small its not discernable to people outside of studio mastering environments. Similarly so with the 5-10hz bass - that tone is too low to hear and is not a range present in psytrance or any music, no matter how bass intensive. Additionally most psytrance producers will actually cutoff frequencies below 62hz, (except for the kick) as that will sharpen the bass and clarify the kick. In short, this is what mars is saying -
Learn to make trance like ethnoscope using only bongo drums and a long rubber band stretched over a 2x4. It's rather impressive. No but seriously, if you spent maybe half the time you were posting here, and spent it on some studio software instead, you would get good in no time (about a year or two before you sound decent, this is the rule for anyone despite the software they use.) I recommend FL, it gives good results very quickly for those who know how to use it. (Those who don't will say it sucks). Elitists will tell you to use Cubase, Alternatives and mac users will say Ableton or Logic. It does not matter, so long as it has VSTi support and a comfortable mixer. For FL the massive "Getting Started" tutorial availible on the site will introduce you to the program and the general workflow for production. When I first got a hold of it I remember I stayed up until 4AM 3 nights in a row because it was so exciting. Then went through the entire tutorial again. No one can tell you how to produce, you must be self taught - its the only way you'll develop style. (most fullon production is "shared" between elitist israeli DJs, the skills passed from one friend to another- no one was self taught there and thats why there is little style in the music. Stop using VB1 for the bass you coons, Explore a little!) If you aren't prepared to spend 1-2 years making tracks that absolutely blow ass, then music production is not for you. It takes time to learn exactly what you need to do to translate what booms inside your head so that it can boom inside your speakers. The other thing thatsgood to know is that you will never be worse - you can only get better with time. Its impossible to suck more than your first tracks. Even nhjo has shown a few ounces of improvement over the years.

You idiot, do you know that any artist who's name has shown up out there has spent so much more money himself so that HE can make music for YOU, and you think they don't desirve anything back? Filipe, just like anyone else who is esteemed with good music has spent thousands of dollars on equipment to enable him to make music - which even legitimate CD sales or live acts in this shallow scene won't be able to pay back for years. And you think you're the one getting jipped?? Trying to make money out of goa is probably the stupidest idea to make money but that doesn't mean we all can start walking all over the artists and taking things for granted. -

The person behind the metapsychic official name is someone who's been a long time forumer here, we are all community. I agree Artifact303's track is something pleasant and new, where did this guy come from? Any info/background/myspace? I wonder what his other music sounds like. As for the Mp3 vs CD peeps - between 320kb and wav you're talking about loosing maybe 1-5hz range and dampening 16kz-20khz - ranges that most people can't even HEAR even if they could affort the expensive setup to play those frequencies in their proper fidelity. There is a practicality behind an mp3 release, and Metapsychic honored the wav requests within a day so there is no reason to argue that. A CD release would infact kick ass, but metapsychic just pulled together its resources and just started up - no one said CD releases are out of the question and the guys will do it if they had the funds, unfortunately these things need a solid investment to get going, an investment needs to be fronted thats usually alot more than 1 person or even a small group can come up with in short notice. For the time being I think this is an interesting trial on behalf of Metapsychic to see if people out there can respect the artists - they love and support the free music but when it comes time to show the artists some modest support, we'll know how much of a family the goa community really can be. I've known many of these artists for a long time and despite having many of these tracks simply out of friendly relations, I still went and bought the actual copies, its the least I could do for the music these guys have been giving us all these years. I'm not buying the music, I'm thanking the artist and doing my part, my link of the chain, to make this long broken system work of rewarding the things that deserve reward. -

Are you saying you're actually upset another goa label has showed up and is releasing music legitimately for their artists? 2 Euros for something someone spent countless (and I mean countless, like 30-60 hours hours of work) squeezing off as much magic as they can between their full time work and the 5 hours of sleep a night is something I would call a bargain -

I've been a fan of cybernetika since his first promo albums (how many has it been man ) around late 2004. I agree with the others, this is among one of the best I've heard from you and the style blend is absolutely apparent yet still more cybernetika dancefloor style than anything. The other thing is I'm exremely impressed that you managed to pull off a 15 minute dancefloor track flawlessly - it works and I've never seen a climactic track done like that wihtout getting borring. Flow is a great accomplishment. To agree with others - Im a big fan of the dark psychedelic style you produce, but you've shown hints of making explosively wonderful dancefloor music and mixing it with the sci-fi and industrial style of your own. This is shown in this track, and I am in the same boat with the others saying if this were persued into an album I'm willing to drop money on it right now! Hints of goa melody in fast dancefloor psy music travelling through sci-fi and dark psychedelic soundscapes will stand my hair on end - I would have found my new love The bassline is smooth and irresistable, the melodies ecstatic, and the FX crunchy and atmospheric. I say show us what you've got! - Bobby -

Where was this sent to? Can you use aerosis@gmail.com? Thanks Nuxx, great to hear from you too In all honesty, your track Arkhimedes from 2004 was one of the tracks that made a big impact on me convincing me to start searching for new goa vibes on my own, much the way you've been doing. Much respect for your legacy

Well, don't be surprised, who was the person who said there was an age requirement in place to enjoy art and music Trance leaves no rules

Tsk tsk lars you keep giving away good music for free, how do you expect the labels to sell your album now, eh? ehhh??? Downloading this now, can't wait to hear what you've got for us - the WIP version of Valkyrie blows me away, finally I can hear the finished version -

Hey woah wow wow hold on. When were samples ever cool? Even on the dancefloor?? Thats one of the things that annoys me most about this music. You don't need some bullshit quote to spice up your breakdown, how about some musical talent. Seriously, who ever decided it was cool to do stuff like this? ALL sample quotes are lame. Even the random ethnic vocals that are chopped and overused to hell in the dub/chillout albums.

I'm going to bump this thread because I'd like more people to notice this music - this is a very high quality artist and sounds like it'll be a very good goa album, diverse and flavorful the way we like it. -
Suntrip Records Presents: Twist Dreams!
Aeros replied to Anoebis's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
If people buy directly from suntrip, do all the profits go to you? How much profits go to you from retailers like psyshop, or what is the wholesale on it... Because if people buy direct from you and then all the money goes straight to the suntrip fund (instead of only 25% of it or something), then wouldn't that be a really really awesome way of supporting the new goa scene by making you more money allowing you to invest in more compilations and artists? Thats right guys you heard it here first. Buy Twist Dreams directly from Suntrip records and support new goa. -
Any progress?

Actually, I saw your mix on a radio streamand thought that Tellurium was a familiar name. A quick search pointed me here, and then to your site where i downloaded your 20-11-06 mix. Man, I really love those first couple of progressive tracks, they bring back some good memories of an outdoor party I went to not too long ago.... Tracklist please? Technically your mix has really good sound quality and you do a great job with track selection and transitions.
