today i though that to properly enjoy that release you need to play it LOUD , and best of course would be night-time , even better somewhere outdoors ;)

A key release this year. Twisted dark forest madness that will make (almost) anyone freak out on psychedlics. For me it came at a crucial time because I was begining to lose faith in the montony of "modern" production techniques. After all its getting harder to tell one album from the next and one years' music from anothers. Its good when albums like this roll by and wake me up from the fog of blandness that's beginng to settle on the world of psy trance. Well done gents!

Final Verdict:9.5/10 (Absolutely Essential) B)

Finally got this CD..

As a melody lover I'm not that much into dark noisy psy,

but I have to say this is a belter...

They obviously know their shit, the production is really good,

the songs are all different and unique but it flows very well...

Listening to this on psychedelics would be one hell of a trip,

music designed to melt your brain.. great stuff

Oh yeah and to the guy who said the basslines sound like dry fuzz...

Open your ears.

A doctor flushed my ears recently so they should be just fine...

But really... taste is taste. I think when something is good it is exceptional... these basslines sounds just so typical imo. When you've heard psytrance over ten years it's inevitable that you become a little bit nitpicky about various details. Did I already say that taste is taste.

Well 'when you listen to it on monitors the basslines sound awesome.

Poisonous Square has one of the most gut wrenching basslines ive heard in a long time.

listen to the way the notes change.. its quite trippy.

but even the droning monotonous basslines i like because its

moody and dark and i can appreciate the effort that they put into their sound.

Derango mainly uses the kbbb kbbb formula on one key. Sure, it changes sometimes, but the main formula is this.

Who else uses that bass?

All full-on and darkpsy artists maybe?

Yeah maybe because ITS A CHARACTERISTIC OF TRANCE MUSIC??

You try to make some psychedelic without this kind of bass and send it to me please.Maybe you are a super talent and you dont know it yet.

I think the bassline in "The poisonous Square" is actually one of the best I've ever heard.

Other than that, this music is not really focused on the most innovative basslines, but thats completely okay, I think any other bassline wouldnt have suited the tracks anyway.

I've listened to it once so far, and I can't say I entirely understand it, but I trust that, like many people here have stated, it gets better with more listens.

I love this album, :D but ist not good for hang overs, but who cares :P

My favorit tracks could be All Chanels Open or Poisonous Square. Just blows me away!

And the basslines are hard and so are the beats, just accept it and enjoy!

I don't think someone was complaining that the basslines are hard. They were complaining that the basslines were very boring, and they are...

hard basslines can be interesting too you know ;)

The basslines of Derango fit perfectly in their style! They are sick and fast. Also most of them are in a low volume which is perfect for Derango's style. Remember it's Derango, not KinDzaDza. It's forest Psy, not hard Russian style. Their basslines are perfect for the ritual music they want to create.

I agree that the bassline is very fitting, but I don't agree that it's something 'special' and 'unique'.

Wow i cant believe people are still talking about the basslines.

It's probably the least important part of this release.. shows u how

many people actually "get" this kinda music.

to all the full on bunnies that say these basslines are boring, try finding

anything that sounds like Fnatt or Poisnonous Square.

and please don't listen to this album in your $2 car stereo and complain

that it sounds shit. you need a lot of power to process most of the

frequencies. poisonous square for example sounds like

shit on small systems. it sounds fucking ridiculous on mine though.

this is one of the most complex and well made psy albums i've ever heard

and it really sucks that people have bullshit complaints about the basslines.

I haven't made my mind up on this album yet. But I can say I find it VERY challenging to say the least.

Anyway, I just received Wizzy Noise Cybermancy form 2000. Had no idea some of their tunes back then sounded like forest trance. Not nearly as deranged as Derango, but still ... foresty elements. Funny, I think. Maybe the step I need to be able to get on the Derango wagon. Tumult surely is popular in here ...
