  1. Lampé - Between The Worlds EP Catalogue: DigitalDiamonds059 Format: EP Released: January 2019 Master Lampé has come a long way, been traveling Between The Worlds, releasing on Soupherb and Phobos amongst other labels. His productions have hijacked many festival PAs last months, like Boom, Lost Theory or Wonderland and received massive support and feedback from DJs and dancers. So we at Digital Diamonds are very pleased to present you 2nd EP by Lampé on our label: Three progressive techno crackers that proof his sophisticated sound design and cinematic production skills. The cherry on the top is a crunching and stomping Joseph Disco remix of Crystal Cave, which is Joseph’s debut track on Digital Diamonds at the same time. All in all a dope EP - Listen and repeat! Get it: http://www.digital-diamonds.com/index.php?id=digitaldiamonds059
  2. Styles almost always circle back and are approached with new gear and sometimes married with other ones, so I was wondering if there's a shortage atm for these or i'm just not looking good enough. Ideas do grow stale so i'm prepared if these are not coming back Thanks in advance my fellow Goa-heads Twilight ala Twisted system or Phatmatix? Theres a wave of new night time coming form South America particularly Mexico but it's not like the good ol' twilight Progressive/minimal ala Beatbizarre Lewd or X-dream? Goa or psy breakbeat like Endora?

  7. Artist: Emmanuel Top Title: Asteroid Label: NovaMute Date: October, 1996 1. Asteroid 2. Industriel 3. Replay 4. Generation 5. Reflex 6. Introduction 7. Development 8. Conclusion Paper. Deceased intact frog primed for dissection. Honey Baked Ham. Delicious. None of these things could shake me from my catatonic state which was induced by listening to the first half of this album. Minimal techno that took forever to get nowhere. This was a ride on a merry go round at a blistering 2mph. And with the track lengths being what they are every revolution is greeted with a punch in the nuts by the weird looking ride operator. Up until Generation came on I wasn't sure this thing had a f*cking pulse. The highly detailed cover should be a heads up. And just cause I woke from my nap doesn't mean this all of a sudden became Hardfloor. Far from it. Noisy at times and sounding quite dated. Yes, worse than Delta Aquarids. Poking around the interwebs you would think this was Jesus Christ in techno form. Introduction? Maybe to some more shut eye. If you're a fan of dated minimalist techno then this will probably be perfect for you. Tastes vary in music of course, but I would be interested in hearing anyone justify having to listen to this again.

  13. Hi everyone, After having classified and listened quite "classic" Psytrance albums (old school), I perceived that I quite liked this particular sub-style. So my question is : is there still any "classic" Psytrance (with this fx driven Goa aesthetics) productions these days or is it a definitely dead style just as Proto-Goa ? For those wondering what it is => https://www.psynews.org/forums/topic/70402-the-psychedelic-trance-in-its-entirety Examples :
  14. Hello Everyone! I recently applied for a volunteer position as a radio DJ and got accepted. My show will be featuring mainly genres of underground and alternative trance! Unfortunately, due to broadcasting guidelines, I need a certain amount of Canadian music per episode in order to keep the show running. I'd like to give anyone who would like some radio play the opportunity to send me their work, so that I may be able to feature it on my show once I start broadcasting. I am not making any money off of this show; I just love trance, and I want others to enjoy it too. I will be putting up more information about my show as it becomes available, I am just in the beginning stages. Once I start to broadcast, you can hear the episodes online for free anywhere in the world! Please feel free to send any questions or suggestions! Thank you!
  15. This minimal style baseline + kick is very prog psy ish, what do you think? is the bass/kick the new trend?

Eight innovative tracks which will enable us to en- ter a univers as brutal as spiritual. Nemesis, Greek goddess of the divine vengeance, symbolizing this album, is promising a fair distribution between progressive beats and musical sonorities. Comah has teamed up with the minimal progressive movements leaders : Droplew & R3ckzet. 17. Artist: Ovnimoon Title: Camanchaca Label: Synergetic Records Date: March, 2006 1. Arcoirs 2. Viaje l sur 3. La India 4. Shamanic Dance on Ayahuaska 5. El arbol arauacano 6. Todos (ovnimoon vs Trancemission vs Mandulk) 7. I love you 8. High nrg (Divinidad rmx) 9. Camanchaca (Reike Pacha mama rmx) Hector's debut album is about as far as you could get from where he is now. His latest Trancemutation of the Mind is melodic and ever changing, but this effort is average at best in my opinion. It's a mixture of downtempo and minimalistic progressive that isn't very memorable. He maintains an air of mystery as well as a tribal feel, but with the exception of the last track it sounds as though he's trying to find a direction for his music. Mdk
  18. Artist: Perplex Title: Dynamic Label: MDMA Music Date: March, 2002 1. White Widow 2. Celebrytease 3. Flying V 4. Visual Perplex 5. Fast Moves 6. Dynamic 7. BBC 2002 8. When I'll Know 9. Last Call I'm perplexed because this isn't dynamic. Ronen Dahan at this time still had his feet stuck in the muck that was the minimal sounding boredom present at the beginning of the millennium. It's very boring without any surprises. Melodies are scarce, there is no power, and if you were driving with this in the deck you might be on the wrong side of a car accident. Imagine high speed drone. Hard to imagine that even in 2002 this was on the cutting edge, but there was a time and a place for everything I suppose. And now 12 years on, this has it's place in history like an extra has in Titanic. Mdk

  21. Artist: Flicker Light Title: Shamanic Journey EP Label: Maia Brasil Records Date: March, 2013 1 - Who Use This Drugs (128 BPM) 2 - Glandula Pineal (134 BPM) 3 - Mental Evolution (135 BPM) 4 - Shamanic Journey (133 BPM) If you mix minimal + progressive trance + darkpsy you get this. Well...not much progressive trance. They were not kidding when they said this had heavy basses. Sh*t will knock you over. While I liked the dark atmosphere and the nosebleed inducing bass you gotta give me more if you're going to assault me with your extended track times. The galloping bass and darkpsy noise gets to be monotonous and it just devolves into 39 minutes of the same thumping bass sounds rumbling in the night time. Love the cover though. 22. Xnorophis - Eyes Album: Eyes Artist: Xnorophis Genre: Tribal, Progressive Size: 185MB License: CC Price: Free and Donations Track List: 01 - Multi-Coloured Angles 02 - Jungle Paradise 03 - Seeds 04 - Step Inside 05 - Organic Saints 06 - Fabel Keepers 07 - Violet Tower 08 - Ganga Sparkle 09 - Oblong Roads 10 - Torpedo 11 - Cilandra's Test Take a seat inside an intergalactic time machine and get ready to be taken back in time in this percussion driven tribal elemental. Starting with a very minimal tone, the simplistic hand-crafted loops are placed neatly together side by side to form an African-like soundscape. Interesting enough, the composition takes place in Canada, yet nothing in this piece reminds me of Canadian styles. As neat as all this may sound, the minimal style in the beginning is, well, very minimal. The first six songs progress with small percussion and bass loops switching off and on rather than melody, layering synths, or pads carrying layers to create a musical body. The first half of the album should be left out, in my opinion, because each song is more of a backbone to a bigger, broader idea. There is no meat to them, no intricacy, no unexpected visions, and they just are not all that interesting. There is a lot of room left to grow and a lot more expected. Don’t let that fool you from giving this album a try, however. At track 7, Violet Tower gives us that body we have been craving. Vocals are added, pads begin to carry the vision further into broader horizons, and arping melodies similar to the Goa roots of Psytrance are brought forth to put together a final frontier of passion the artist begs to express. A true tribal experience, however, should let me close my eyes and imagine an organic landscape full of sun and open fields. I want to imagine wonderfully painted patterns on the faces of distant cultures, people dancing around large bon fires as the smoke climbs towards the white dotted sky, the moon screaming a blanket of twinkling blue light into the hearts of the earth, and I want it to sound amazing. This album doesn’t do that, but the last few tracks certainly get closer to that accomplishment of pure tribal engulfment. The tracks Violet Tower, Oblong Roads, Ganga Sparkle, and Torpedo are the definitions of this album. They combine the ideas and techniques from every other track and turn a small idea in a better experience. The tippety tappety of the small drums, the Goa bass line, the progressive style, the hint of vocals, and an additional trance melody with more layers of instruments make these tracks great. To the artist, I think if you were to simply take out everything else and leave these in, it would make the album better. Quality over quantity my friend. My advice would be to take a look at these creations and form your future projects based on what you have learned from them. Try to examine different drum lines, instrument programming, and tribal atmospheres to take advantage of our minds and run them through an organic soundscape. Right now, a large portion of the album is generic. Focus on expansiveness, yearning to create a land that only you know into pure sound where we can escape and relax. Keep it up man!! If you want some inspiration, listen to the Steve Roach album “Strata”. The first few tracks are largely tribal ambient, taking your percussion inspirations you love and adding astounding atmospheric explosions of euphoria. I can see you taking a faster pace than this without the ambient style, adding intricacy to your work. 7/10 Download here on Ektoplazm (MP3, FLAC, WAV) - Review by FatKidWitaJetPak (Nick Sumbles) - Special Thank to Ektoplazm for the download bandwidth.

This was a nice surprise. Think of it as darkpsy atmosphere with minimal structures and some techno sensibilities. All the tracks are moody with a simplistic kick and loaded with effects. The sounds of alien creatures can be heard constantly with lots of bubbling and electronic wheezes. Sometimes it can get very lush and descriptive and sometimes it can go on way too long. I like effects tumbling over the kick, but when there is not a lot else it can get tiring to listen to. My favorite was Techno Trousers by Brujo's Bowl. Get it free at Ektoplazm Mdk

  25. Artist: Tijah Title: Nocturnal Mind Tweaking EP Label: Mind Tweakers Records Date: January, 2012 1 - Tijah - Seed Drop (139 BPM) 2 - Tijah vs Interferenz - Sunset Machine (138 BPM) 3 - Onionbrain - Wormhole (Tijah Remix) (137 BPM) 4 - Tijah - Talking Machines (135 BPM) 5 - Disfunction - 11:11 (Tijah & Diza Remix) (136 BPM) Yeah! Ummm..... I'm with fat Cuba Gooding Jr. on this one. 92% positive vote on Ekto? Well, I've never had a problem going against the grain so permit me to be the light amidst a sea of darkness. What do you get when you add 1 kick with a monotonous grumbling bass line sprinkled with random dark noises. Me moving past this snore fest faster than my son downs apple juice. It is billed as dark progressive, but I think it's closer to annoying as sh*t minimal. This isn't progressive trance. Know why? It doesn't progress. This is regressive trance. How are you going to make the same track 5 times and give it different names? Boring as it could be without a lick of storytelling atmosphere. And then as a final kick in the nuts, you get the last track which comes in at just a c*nt hair above 11 minutes of the same sh*t. Of course you should judge for yourself, but I found this as enjoyable as watching an unplugged television. ZZZZzzzzz....... Mdk
