  1. Artist: Various Title: Analogue Label: One Foot Groove Date: 2007 1. Artifakt - Baal 2. Electric Mirror - Play It From Your Heart 3. Hydraglyph - Totalled 4. Atyss - Atomik Circus 5. Rabdom L - Fire Bird 6. Zion Linguist - Twisted Radio 7. Kut 'N' Paste - Red Dragon Correkt 8. Noise Anomalie - Virus 9. S.C.A.M. - Dirty Trancin' 10. Konchord - Bounty Hunter "Them Illegals took ur jobs!" A redneck can be blissfully ignorant about a lot of things but guns, poor hygiene, and f*cking his sister probably aren't one of them. But hey I ain't mad atcha Cleetus, nobody's perfect. I am ignorant about a lot of things too. Middle East politics. Surgery. What I can and can't wear after Labor Day...Just sayin' nobody knows it all. Take this label for instance. They're from South Africa (which is already good enough for me) and I have only been acquainted with two of their releases. But holy sh*t they were monsters. If you like the night time psytrance you typically get from South Africa do yourself a favor and check out the only album from Kut 'N' Paste and Replenishing Roots from Tryambaka. Scorchers, but finding a copy of the former can be difficult as they went full-on Yabai on a brother. So this compilation mastered by The Artifakt showcases lots of dark night time goodness. The mood is heavy and the bass lines rumble. It's a solid bit of dark-themed night music and has aged well. I would say there isn't much filler and would be a solid purchase. Who knows if the label is still active cause I've come to realize you cannot rely on Discogs. Kinda like wikipedia a bit. But this label was definitely heading in the right direction. Beatspace
  2. Artist: Han Solo Title: Hyper Reality Label: AP Records Date: October, 2008 1. Numbers 2. Delysid 3. Mutants 4. Hyper Reality 5. Lamat - Fenix (Han Solo Remix) 6. Infrasound 7. Smoke It 8. Wild Humans "One of the things you learn after years of dealing with drug people...is that you can turn your back on a person. But never...turn your back on a drug." What about a person on drugs? I ain't turnin' my back on this guy either. Hey wait a minute! I know this guy. Man he hasn't aged a day! He actually looks younger! Weird Science...classic 80s movie. In the spirit of the sh*t sandwich that was the new Star Wars movie I decided to tackle the album from a much younger and more Mexican Han Solo. I mean did you see Harrison Ford limping about on the set? I think they CGI'ed his walker out of the shot. Anyway this is Jose Mauricio Fernandez Galvez whose parents were apparently afraid all the good names would be taken so they loaded him up. Well all his names created a pretty good full-on album. Now I know it hasn't been cool to like full-on since 2002 and I've even piled on like the rest of you. And let's face it the genre has deserved it. But with this album there's a lot of development. Whether that translates into the "good" type of full-on I'll leave up to you, but I sure enjoyed it. It's not just straight ahead stuff (other than the machine gun bass line), but the kind of up-tempo cheese that is light hearted. There are samples in every track (many of them drug related) and if you're on the hunt for some darkness, turn away. This sh*t burns vampires. But it's supposed to, and it fulfills its mission of good time music. Layers abound and the whole production is very shiny. I will say that listening to this all the way through was exhausting. But I suppose if you ate like a fat f*ck over the holidays you need to have this on repeat. If that wasn't enough to satisfy your guilty pleasure you filthy animal, it asks the important questions. "Are there a lot of Dutch people in Amsterdam?" I dunno dude. I dunno. Beatspace Psyshop

  5. Wow, what a year! I stopped DJing last year at this time to focus on my life and get some things done. Since then, I got engaged, bought a house, got married, and switched jobs. Much like a planetary alignment phenomenon, all my planets have aligned and I'm happier than ever with my new life. I doubt I will have the same volume of output from a music standpoint, but I am back, and I'll put out some more mixes as the mood strikes me. Vandeta - Machine with Emotion [solar Tech] Flexus - Magnetic Field (Opposite8 Remix) [iono] Alter Nature - Dawnbreak [spin Twist] Egorythmia & Dual Resonance - Cosmic Transition [iono] TOT - Dreams of Dreams (Pointfield Remix) [iNTrance] E-Clip - Chandra (Ovnimoon Remix) [Power House] Asya - Blind Colors [Goa Crops] Egorythmia & E-Clip - Time Travellers [iono] Kid Vicio & Ultrajett - Space Station [Fresh Frequencies] Lyctum - Experience [Magnitud] Planet DIsconnect & Seven Ways - Kepler (Magnus Remix) [Pharmacy] Sixsense - Over Site [Power House] Attik - Travel [Expo] Side Winder - Faith (Electit Remix) [Power House] Kingpink - Destiny (Micky Noise Remix) [Phoenix Groove] Indecent Noise - Warsaw 2.0 [Mental Asylum] Chris Voro & Bl1tz - Space Race (Magnus Remix) [blacked Out] Soundcloud Link: (left-click to download) Ziptnf - Planetary Alignment (1:33:45) 226MB ~320kbps Image credit to daelly. 6. Artist: Dickster Title: Inebriatti Label: Nano Records Date: June, 2015 1. Bumbling Loons - Shimmer 2. Dickster & Hopi - Freeze the Cheese 3. Dickster & Master Blasters - Rawcous 4. AMD - For Those About To... 5. Dickster - Caffeinator 6. Dickster & Nigel - Psylonius Funk 7. Dickster & Earthling - Keep It Surreal 8. Dickster & Darshan - Decoder 9. Circuit Breakers - Nighty Night 10. Dickster & Space Tribe - Hack A Haka I know I pick on how bad Psyshop written promos can be, but c'mon man...you gotta do better than this. "Nano Records and Psyshop Music Distribution presents... a fantastic trance album from master class Artist 'Dickster'." That's it? That's not a promo it's a f*cking editorial. And a weak one at that. And what the hell happened to Nano Records? They used to be money, but nowadays it seems like their stuck in a f*cked up audio version of Groundhog day. It started with the subpar Laughing Buddha album and then continued with the been there done that Tristan Way of Life disc. This is an album of Dick Trevor's side projects, a compilation if you will, but he's involved in all the tracks. Let's see if it's three strikes and you're out. Yeah I like where this is going...Is what I said after the opening progressive trance track. It had all the elements to bring a smile to my face. But what began as a playful game of cat and mouse ended with a full-on nut punch. There is nothing here that we haven't heard a million times before. Like three day old birthday cake it's as stale as it could be. From Beavis and Butthead samples to the New Zealand All Blacks (I think that's what it is) chant this sh*t is tired. Doing the same thing over and over is the definition of insanity so ya'll must be crazy. Which is an insult to crazy people cause at least they're unpredictable. Sorry Nano...you out. Psyshop

  8. Artist: Various Title: The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life Label: Sangoma Records Date: November, 2013 1. Entropy - Hamakor 2. Parus - Vremia 3. Antagon Vs. Ectogasmics - Degradation 4. Sunchild - Think In Tongues 5. Dragon - Flower of Life 6. Mubali - Entering the Neuron Community 7. Fractal Cowboys - Fluid of Life 8. Arjuna Vs. Deepbrianfrombosis - Fractacality 9. Primordial - Time Lord 10. We Are Noise - Acid Milk For All 11. Neesha - Great Ride "There are certain things we can do to become super human." The sexy lady tree will tell you the secret is all in the hips. Anyone else think this gif is a little...sinister? Sangoma is like the foresty darkpsy little brother of the older and well established Timecode Records. I absolutely loved almost everything that Timecode released so I'm hoping that Sangoma will continue the tradition. My first experience with them however was with Gaspard's ode to naptime Seems Legit. It wasn't legit. So not legit that I quit. Hammer shoutout! But hey that's why pencils have erasers right? This compilation is my second go round with Sangoma and I have to tell you...bring a f*cking flashlight. This is dark. Seriously so. Thumping bass lines and kicks rumble menacingly below swampy bubbling. If you're a fan of the Timecode sound this may take some getting used to. While the night time psy from Timecode was also dark there were always melodies that would carry you above the fray. This sound is more psychedelic forest and aggressive. Perhaps it's the logical evolution of darkpsy. It's a hallucinatory journey where sounds are stacked like dead bodies and the mood is decidedly...evil. Metallic leads sound like the dragging of relics across concrete. It's loud and a lush cacophony of sound that requires multiple listens to truly appreciate. Some tracks are horror movie ready and most are a twisting concourse into the mouth of madness. Heavy stuff if you decide to listen in one go. I'm not sure where I stand yet, but I certainly cannot stop listening to it. Sangoma Bandcamp Psyshop Beatspace
  9. Artist: Prosper Title: The Speed of Sound Label: Joof Recordings Date: October, 2007 1. Atlantis 2. Falls & Rises 3. Future Perfect 4. Nights of Belgra 5. None of Those 6. On The Run 7. On Wheels 8. Purple Fish 9. Untitled Dreams 10. Zero Tolerance Merry Christmas b*tches. Man I wanted to dump all over this thing. So badly. Jokes were coming to me while I wasn't even thinking about music. But I couldn't. Well...maybe a little. First off this is the third album from Serbian Nikola Vujnovic and it is a digital release. How to describe...a mix of progressive and psy with a little euphoria sprinkled over the top like the sweet confection it is. Think of full-on crack. There is nothing psychedelic about this. You'll find more psychedelia in a Teletubbies episode. It's commercial sounding and cheesy at times. When f*cknut said he was going for the music I almost lost it. Of course you are dinkus, we all are. We just don't feel the need to say it. You're play by play was wholly unnecessary. That said you will find some ass wiggling tracks here. It's fairly strong on groove. Also some of the tracks began as simple full-on yet continued to develop. This is music that you listen to at the club when you're smashed out of your gourd and think it's the most awesome music that you have ever heard. Loud and shiny you never want the night to end. But then comes the hangover and you can't believe you did that last night. Beatport
  10. Artist: Sulima Title: Mechanoid Label: Timecode Records Date: August, 2015 1. In 2. R2D9 3. Vs117sv 4. Interlock 5. Mechanoid 6. Voksillator 7. Kriotron 8. Polar 9. Astra 10. Out I always like to check in on Timecode Records and see what they're up to. There was a time when I was completely enamored with this label. The glory days when it seemed that every single release they threw out there was better than the next. Originators of that South African sound that skillfully melded dark atmosphere with melody and power. Times change and artists move on yet this label still has designs to be a force in psytrance. Sulima is a Russian artist who I have limited experience with and I suppose his style could be a cross between darkpsy and night time psytrance music if that makes it any less clear. Never heard his album Time Shift, but I was eager to see what he was cooking up. This is a fairly solid album (digital only), dark and thumping. He uses a lot of similar sounds so it can be a little difficult to avoid sounding samey. That said he's also pretty good at layering and creating a futuristic atmosphere. There are 8 full tracks as well as an intro and an outro providing that aforementioned eerie future feel. There are a few standouts like Interlock and Astra which seem to hit that sweet spot between rich darkness and attainable melody, but the album as a whole falls a little short of greatness. However if you like your night time psytrance a little on the dark side without being mindless, then this is for you. Good job Timecode. Timecode Bandcamp Psyshop

  12. Dear people! Let me show you my recently finished night fullon-ish song called 'Weaving the Stream'. https://soundcloud.com/leonard-back-1/weaving-the-stream I hope, you gonna like it! [and I'm quiet excited about it for sure ] It's downloadable, if you happen to enjoy it. Also, check out my soundcloud profile, you'll find another track called 'Catacosmos', but its mastering is far from what I call a quality product. Best regards, have an awesome day!
  13. Artist: Bliss Title: The Rhythmus Gene Label: Phantasm Records Date: December, 2005 1. The Love Hack 2. No Gravity 3. Upside Down 4. The Rhythmus Gene 5. Dirty Boy 6. Pause 7. Tidal Waves 8. Monitor Access 9. Miracle Whip 10. Spaceless "Things don't always go the way we expect." Yonatan Marcow. Yonatan? Sounds like a Indian with a lisp. But yes Yonatan Marcow is the mind behind one of the fluffiiest, dare I say cavity causing, cotton candy, multicolored unicorn rainbow sh*tting albums ever made. He seems Israeli, but I suspect that this was made in Cloud Cuckoo Land under the watchful eye of Unikitty. "More melodies f*cker! Stay positive, more f*cking positivity!!" So...how to tackle this. Here's what you do. Find the largest black man you can find and just call him the n word. Right to his face. If you somehow survived this encounter what will undoubtedly have happened is multiple blows from his fists will have connected with your face and promptly removed a vast majority of your teeth. This is of course a more extreme method of reaching the same conclusion, but on the positive side I have saved you almost 80 minutes of your time. Time is money and you will now need said saved money for the extensive dental reconstruction. You're welcome. But seriously... Nope, nothing serious about this. This is eating a whole bakers dozen of Krispy Kremes by yourself. It felt good going down, but now you feel sick and have explosive diarrhea. It's full-on to it's very, very, sweet core right from the first B-52's sample and after finishing it there will be shame. Perhaps you'll go for a long walk in the rain because you think that that is what you deserve. Alone, to gather your thoughts and breakaway from this destructive shame spiral. But the shame is thick, make no mistake you will wallow in it. And there will be self loathing. And then shame again. Sure you'll throw on some intelligent music. Maybe some Hallucinogen in an attempt to wash off the stink. But you know what? I'll do it all over again. This is my secret, guilty pleasure. When I'm with my friends (please, I don't have any friends) I'll chuckle along with them and make fun of this. Then when I get home I'll lock my door, turn it up and let it howl. The sound is excellent with lasers, acid, and pounding bass lines on full display. The melodies are highly euphoric with multiple layers. Halfway through, I shame regurgitate in my mouth, but I will see this through. I will not let that shame define me. I shall wallow in it and make it my own. Delicious, delicious shame and self-loathing.

  16. Artist: Various Title: Mideranged Label: Furtive Records Date: 1999 1. Midrange Freedom Fighters - Death Rattle 2. Parasyke - Tick 3. Midrange Freedom Fighters - Subspace Distortion 4. Airborn Virus - Alien Babewatch 5. Midrange Freedom Fighters - Dark City Slicker 6. Midrange Freedom Fighters - God Complex 7. Splonge - Space Junkie What the f*ck, man? Who thought this would be a good idea? Pubic hair sprinkles, nice touch you sicko, there is no way that I... Oh it's chocolate? F*ck it, gimme two dozen. If you sell cupcakes (not that sick sh*t above) and decide to open a business to sell your cupcakes and then decide once you've made those cupcakes and sold a bunch that on that same day you're going to close your business, well...I'd say that's not really a good business model. I don't care if they're the greatest cupcakes in the world you're still going to take a bath on that venture. But that's what happened here. Furtive Records is a one off label, just a bunch of buddies getting together just to release this CD. Clearly they weren't in it for the long haul or take make sacks of cash. Maybe they make cupcakes and one day after an intensive bong session they said, "F*ck it let's make up a label and release an album and then shut it down. It'll be the most bad ass thing ever! And then we'll just give it away! Hells yeah!" After many bags of Doritos and a bunch of naps that's just what they did. The artists are all the same guys. They did the art, the mastering...everything. And what they came up with was some twisted, psychedelic stuff. Music for the time where goa was well on the way out and psytrance was foraging an experimental new path. You've got swampy forest sounds, tribal percussion, and some groovy bass lines. The uh, moaning on Alien Babewatch...yeah I can't confirm that they didn't lift that from the Tommy Lee Pamela Anderson sex video. But if they did that's pretty good work for an album that is now licensed to drive in all 50 states. It's not the best album you'll ever hear, but for a one and done it will get you there psychedelically speaking. So they built a "label" released one album, and waited for cult status to roll in. Last time this thing sold on Discogs was 6 years ago. Mission accomplished gentlemen. Who wants more cupcakes?
  17. Artist: Tryon Title: The Twilight Solution Label: Hypergate Records Date: September, 2008 1. Frame Intro 2. Skyline 3. Reward of Mind 4. Freak Stuff 5. Magic Cooler 6. Out of Time 7. Paranormal 8. Twilight Solution 9. Sidhartha - The Sleepwalker (Tryon remix) 10. Atmos On Fire Ah it's that time of year again here in the states, where we consume more food in a day than most families in the third world get in a month. Obscene really. Our national holiday celebrates the extermination of a native people and outright theft of their land. What better way to commemorate that by doing what we here do best. Overeating. We actually shove a chicken inside a duck and then shove that inside a turkey and cook it. That's actually a thing. Bow down to the Turducken! So much food I wouldn't normally eat, but how do you say no to carmelized pecan and marshmallow sweet potatoes? You don't. You just become their b*tch and welcome them as your new starchy overlords. And as gluttonous as this sounds (and it is) this all day foodguzzle is just a tolerated evil so the retailers can shove a commercial Christmas up or ass. What are you laughing at Halloween? Don't think they wouldn't f*ck you and start celebrating Christmas in July. Syrian refugees are fleeing for their lives and we're doing carnal things to birds. Welcome to the United States. Now...since you'll be issued a firearm (welcome to Murrica!) and the requisite 15 lbs of added weight if you're lucky enough to emigrate here you will need some high tempo night time music to help melt away the flab. Tryon is our good friend tickle me Telmo and he lays a brutal acid smack down with his debut. High speed dance music with dark atmospheres that also incorporate a little forest growl. The bass lines are out of control and he uses acid as his weapon of choice. This isn't pseudo twilight music. It's four on the floor controlled chaos that makes no apologies. Does it sound the same? Sure, but acid doesn't care who it burns. Very good stuff. Now could you pass me some more gravy, I seemed to have gotten my second wind. Psyshop

  22. Artist: Gaspard Title: Seems Legit Label: Sangoma Records Date: May, 2014 1. Spaced 2. Cannalize Legabis 3. Falaweeda Galacia 4. Royal With Cheese 5. Free Candy 6. DNA 7. Bamboclot 8. Little Switch 9. Riding The Rooster "There is more to reality than meets a normal eye." Covers work people, so fire up that MS Paint and take it seriously if you wanna catch eyes. That's why I gave this a few spins. Gaspard is Gaspard Besson who is half of Yab-Yum and a driving force behind Peak Records according to Psyshop's little blurb. Based solely on the cover I would have to assume this is not a Taylor Swift side project discussing how her last boyfriend is gonna regret cheating on her. And it isn't. One day you'll find the right guy Taylor. One day. Crazy thought, what if the right guy is really the right girl and you've been wasting time barking up the wrong tree? But back on topic this is music for the night. His debut is kinda in between dark psy and night time full-on. The bass line is the star of the show here with plenty of noises chirping from the darkness. Melodies? Maybe a few, but don't expect to be carried away on a cloud by gay angels. More like shoved into a dark forest by a troll wielding a 7 inch blade. At least that's what its intent sounded like. To be honest it bored the sh*t outta me. The days of making scary sounds as the monotonous bass line rambles on forever...I thought that f*cking ship sailed already. I could not differentiate track one from track...whatever. Since Sangoma is a sub-label of Timecode I expected more. A lot more. So...what this is is basically an eye catching cover with a sleeping pill inside. Night night. Psyshop

  24. Title : VA – Twilight Core Vol. 2 Label : Phonix Records Cat no. : PHODIGI015 Format : Digital download Release Date: (BeatPort 2 Week Exclusive) World Wide Release: 4th December, 2015 Mastered by Dale Byl @ db Mastering Studios, South Africa Artwork by Ishikawa and Omega Flight We at Phonix Records firmly believe in the saying of one good turn deserving another. And with that thought in mind, for our next adventure, Ishikawa chose to revisit an old chapter... And so after almost 2 years - it was time to resurrect the nexus which encompasses many of the secrets that gave birth to the Phonix Laboratories- the Twilight Core is back and ready for action! On initiating the core, a surge of power sweeps the scene leaving behind Omega Flight (UK) and newcomer Aquedeux (ZA) leading the way forward with the "Order of Chaos"... A sinister story full of inky darkness, it slowly creeps its way forth from the minds of these two sonic alchemists. Following suite, a new face of the Twilight Core emerges – the new deeper and darker side project of Phonix boss Etnarama - NNP (PT/UK). Stretching the human consciousness to the very edge, this delicious concoction will drive some listeners "Insane" with its relentless beats and haunting melodies. Now left to contend with the energy center of the Twilight Core, here Mexican manipulator Roby presents his powerful retelling of X-Side's menacing "Dominate". Roby's unique take on this classic leaves no doubt as to why it was picked as a runner up winner of the Dominate Remixes competition hosted jointly by X-Side (Mexico) and Phonix Records. Not to be outdone, Spanish beat hacking duo – Psycho System – return with their single minded dedication to the transmutation of sonic waves resulting in the "Revival of Energy". An awesome story with melodies that resonate strongly with the will of the Twilight Core! And so as the resonance reaches a frantic crescendo, listeners are treated to an intense and deep understanding of the inner workings of the Twilight Core. It’s a place for introspection where one can retreat unto themselves only to discover with the help of Aquedeux - the mysteries of "Subconscious Telepathy". A marvelous yet haunting experience which couples lush soundscapes with powerful rhythms. To end things, sonic wizard Zabot (PT) leads the way into the realms of the "Golden Age". A goa inspired epic where one understands the nature of the Twilight Core and its mysterious purpose in modern human society. With this, the 15th release from Phonix Records, we are proud to continue supporting the music and the artists we believe in! The Twilight Core not only represents the many forms and shapes the music we love takes, but it is also our way of thanking the fellow aliens and friends who identify and continue to support our mission. Now is not the time for any further words, now is the time for the Twilight Core. TRACKLIST: 1.
