  1. House Of Pain- top o' the morning to ya
  2. Same thing I heard. Only I heard the tracks were unreleased studio outtakes and all...? But I'm unsure too, cannot confirm or deny. Although over the years I've heard quite a few times that "Update files" was not a proper and planned album, and that it was never supposed to be released as such. Maybe someone who is familiar with the label/artist could shed some light on the matter?
  3. Gotta check it out for sure. As soon as possible too. Demon Tea is quality for sure. Last year's triple CD "Tea chairs" release still gets regular playing time in my CD player :posford:
  4. I exclusively listen to smilargh trance.
  5. YES! YES! YES! YES! 6D-Soundz are back with another release!!! :posford: This is such an instant buy... I soooooo love this label! But yeah, when was (if it was) vol. 2 released? If it was ever released, it was not by the dudes over at 6D, right?
  6. my answers: 1) YES - objectively speaking, Mindsphere's album is good enough to merit a proper CD release. It fairs well enough in comparison to other modern goa trance outputs, and thus I see no particular reason for it not to eventually recieve a physical release. 2) NO - since I never considered myself an expert in sound engeneering/post production sound/production vaults/whatever, mastering and sound quality was never an issue I payed attention to. Music is NOT an art of perfecting a billion technical flaws and details. Music is not physics and methamatics: the album sounds as it sounds. Period. No point in further discussions IMHO. 3) NO- Now that I have it in WAV format, now that I know what it sounds like, I would not buy a proper CD release. WAVs do it more than fine for me, plus there are numerous other releases I'd buy before this one. One other thing is that I, with all fairness and honesty + all due respect to the artist, don't find this album a masterpiece some hail it as.
  7. House Of Pagan Christians Pigs In Space Psyko Disko
  8. Please Jannis, take it very nice, slow and easy with the K.O.B. debut. After you reckon everything is all set and done, think things over, and when you have thought and arranged it all in your head, think it all over again before releasing anything. My expectations are really high for that project. The samples on your web page + the track off V/A Twist Dreams were really impressive. It better be an album loaded with some high octane fury :posford: Filteria's third output I wanna hear as well, but I kind of already got an idea of what that side of your musical output is all about, that is unless you have some new, yet unheard trick up your sleeve to show us. Good luck with it all
  9. Virgil Enzinger- Lost souls German hard techno anno 2005 that actually stays away from the entire schranz plague, and heavily resembles the golden era of C.L.R. :posford: Oh yeah! More pleeze!
  10. Man, I don't know, not that I have high hopes or anything, Total Eclipse are former masters of the genre, but like with so many old school acts, I eventually moved on and lost interest in their music. And no, the album won't be goa trance or anything similar, as virtually those few post Y2K tracks of theirs I heard were everything but, so... Eternal respect for their first three albums
  11. Some old Pascal F.E.O.S. DJ set recording, and just check the classics he drops under the needle...: Sign's "The norm", R. Villallobos "Heike", the timeless "Protein" by Tata Box Inhibitors, Pascal's remix of "Transmission from Istanbul"...
  12. No arguing about the money issue and all the wonderful things it can bring into one's life, YES arguing about your artist pick, as GMS and X-Dream, just to make two more than obvious examples, have throughout their careers earned more than Etnica/Pleiadians and especially Crop Circles :drama:
  13. 1) Outolintu- Odd man out (Faerie Dragon Records) (2007) 2) Tea Chairs- Tea chairs (Demon Tea Recordings) (2007) 3) Goasia- From other spaces (Suntrip Records) (2007) 4) Gus Till- Best of the Rhino Years vol. 2 (Sonic Dragon Records) (2007) 5) Transwave- Backfire (3D Vision) (2007) *post edited, since I am NO fan of downtempo/ambient music, I have not bought a single release that would fit in that category during 2007.
  14. Infected Mushroom- I won't comment upon them, I will leave it to those who actually have the nerves and the patience to listen to either one of their albums front to back. While they are unquestionably influential and their imprint on the scene cannot be merely dissmissed, I still can't be bothered to listen to their music. There is just too much excellent stuff out there to focus on; no time for mediocrity. For what it may matter to anybody, I try to appreciate (from a fair distance) the allegedly landmark releases they've done. I respect 'em for the credits fans give them. But I don't like them, never have and the way things are going, most probably I never will. Crop Circles/Pleiadians- What's up with the thread title? Isn't Crop Circles supposed to be a name composed of two separate words? My two all time favorite projects, not necessarily the best or the most talented, but without a doubt my personal pick(s) for the #1 act. What they have produced back in the day, to these present times has legendary status in the hearts of many old school lovers. No need to further reflect upon their past output, as most are familiar with it. However, on today's scene, these projects have barely any relevence, they are living on their past glory, and it makes me aggrivated. Unlike mars, I disagree Max & Mauri have a future in the mid-full-on/mid-prog supersweet stuff, as for many years now I have been eagerly expecting an electro-dub album from them. Tracks in the same vein as those from the second disc off V/A South Africa 2000 or some of the downtempo tracks off Nitrox should be just what it needs to regain their credibility. One thing you can never take away from them though, no matter how much you may despise their production, is the phenomenal ability they have to read the crowd and move the massess. Both Maurizio and Max, along with maybe half a dozen other live acts, are capable of hitting it on the nail with every performance, regardless of who they play for or what is coming out of the speakers. In their own right, they are one of the greatest live acts I have ever had the honor to listen to. Hell, even the often critisized stuff from "Chrome" made sense when properly introduced during a live set. In that sense, even today, anno 2008, Etnica/Pleiadians stand as Goliath like giants of the scene. But, to ironically quote one of their own track titles, I am the shadow of myself... I tend to agree more with Basilisk's opinion, their recent production lacks consistency, their albums are patchy at best, and they just don't make themselves recognizible enough any longer to make me put them anywhere near the top of the heap. They fail time after time to distinguish themselves from numerous other acts, and unlike before, their music sounds like something any amount of "XYZ" producers could have pulled off. If clocks had stopped running back in the summer of 1998, I can hardly believe anyone could or would have ever had a chance to out do what these guys have crafted. Pure sonic wizardry. Astral Projection- Goa trance superstars! Hard to say anything against them as they were one of the first acts I ever heard. However, objectively speaking, AP lost it a fairly long time ago. Whether they are cheesy or not is a matter of subjective judgement, but a fact remains: Astral Projection made highly enjoyable, danceable, happy, uplifting and positively charged music that stamped smiles on people's faces world wide. And yeah, they do deserve more than a tiny bit of respect for that! After all, they did not become stars by churning out filler material. They have a good amount of classic singles to flash off, and their debut album is a milestone in the genre. The traces they left on the scene are impossible not to notice, let alone acknowledging their effort in bringing the entire genre much colser to the attention of the public eye. More than a question of their importance on today's scene, I'll be honest and say that as far as I am concerned, my interest in this duo diminished quite a few years down the lane. In fact, I could care less about their forthcoming album... Back when they were the name to look out for, I would have killed to hear new material by the former masters, but today? Naaaaaaaah! They should have retired when it was time to, and history would have cemmented their names as the greatest musicians the genre ever had. Again, because of someone's taste, maybe not the most talented and all, but certainly the most prominent. Simon Posford- Along with X-Dream (and it beats me how IM got into this thread rather than two true pioneers such as Rough & Rush), IMHO he's the only heavy weight veteran still doing this thing like God himself commands. While I'm pretty far from all the "godfordy" fans this forum has, I can hardly deny the creative genius of this man: from Hallucinogen to the marvellous, truly beautiful Shpongle, to Younger Brother's jaw dropping debut, "A flock of bleeps", to a number of scattered classics under monikers like Infernal Machine, North Central Positronics, Anubis, Binah and who knows what not, Simon Posford has most probably been around a whole lot more than I know and his Twisted Records label is one of the few ones out there still pushing some interesting and psychedelic music out on the market. While the new YB was in my ears everything but impressive, that can only be percieved as a minor stain on an impeccable record. Out of all the acts mentioned by the thread starter, I honestly think Simon Posford is the only one left who really has it inside himself to reinvent the wheel once again, so to speak, to really bring to the table something potent, vigorous, life altering and what not. More than once has he already showed that he's everything but a one trick pony. He refuses to blend in, he never waits to cash in on a lucrative formula, despite the fact he was in a position to do so many, many years ago. Not all his work is classic, far from it, but he's a somewhat consistent producer, who has done uncountable remixes, collaborations and his far reaching influence can be felt in the most obscure realms of the dusty old school records to modern, state of the art psy trance production. He has a loyal and fairly big fan base, which I am deeply convinced about, especially after attending the fantastic Twsited Records label party in London last year.
  15. So far I have done three extremely successfull deals with the guys over @ Kagdila Records, and I have nothing but kind words for them! Fast, quality and reliable shipping, with items being in absolute mint condition, very well packed. Nothing to worry about, every detail of our deal went by just fine. Highly recommended!
  16. Nice thread & a tough and interesting question After giving it some more thought, I'll post a constructive, honest and insightful answer As for your question, without taking it too personally as I really have nothing against you, I find it awkward you asking that after starting XY pointless threads in the off-topic section...
  17. Mr. abasio, you made my cold winter day with this one What have you been taking lately? I want some of it too!!! You wrote more great reviews during the past few weeks than the rest of forum users have written throughout this whole year, and now this... Great stuff, man. The mix is just great. It's actually my first encounter with the newer Solar Fields material, as I must be the only loser not to have heard the album yet
  18. Cosmosis- Synergy (1998) (Transient Records) Cosmosis- Akashic (2005) (Holophonic Records) Prana- Geomantik (reissue) (2004) (Avatar Records)
  19. I'm one of those uncreative Levi's + an ordinary t-shirt/sweat shirt + a pair of standard sneakers + any other ordinary piece of clothing you may know... I usually never judge people by what they wear, like, dislike, listen or don't listen to. It's probably because I look so ordinary I don't need people around me looking like Christmas trees.

    Etnica - Starship 101

The proper, full side vinyl mastering for the Full On track still does its thing. In the same vein as Mind Altering Drugs, the difference in sound quality between any given CD version of either one of these tracks and the 12" versions are very audiable. The long lasting, deep, magnificently produced sound brought on this classic vinyl still kills it, at least in my living room. While the A side, Starship 101, does not bounce off that much from the "Alien protein" version, sound wise that is, the flip is a real treat. A full side of a slab, with every note and groove carefully engraved into the vinyl for your maximal listening experience. A true classic, and to make things even more interesting, the only place you can hear Full On in its full, unmixed and unedited beauty is this superb 12" release from 1996! Get it, do not hesitate- just go! Along with the 1999 "Polar EP", the "Starship 101/Full On 12"" is, in terms of sound quality and detail, the finest vinyl release courtesy of Etnica I own. Both are great releases in their own right and in their own historical context.
  21. Overseas shipping is, simply put, expensive. It happenned only a few times, but when I ordered lots off saikosounds, I bought 3 CDs and payed for 5... You see, the example you made of O.O.O.D.'s newset album going for 10.00 quids is relatively expensive, but the deal is: an album is worth only the amount you are willing to pay for it. You think it's overpriced? You thinks it costs too much? Well, don't buy it then I mean, you have people giving over 100 euros for used, alleged must own rarities, and not complaining about getting ripped off. Maybe the expensive, or exaggerated shipping prices have something to do with you living in the US? Maybe the shipping policy for America demands you to spend more? I don't know... As for psyshop's SALE BIN, I think this is the wrong place to ask that question. I think you should send a mail directly to the source, their customer service. I rarely order from saikosounds, as the shipping prices are blown out of proportion, and I never end up closing a good deal when buying from them. Psyshop has always been a huge no-no in my book as they still don't deliver to Croatia, so I gave up on that sorry ass shop years ago. Beatspace is my #1 choice, but I wouldn't recommend it to you, since you live in the US, and you'd still be complaining about shipping prices
  22. Nah, rarely do I bash music and say it purely "sucks", I rather subdue those differences in opinions to that matter of taste factor. As far as my taste goes, Space Cat's "Beam me up" is the holy grail of cheesiness those knights of the round table were spending an infinity to find... I found it, and faster than them too!!!
  23. Are you kidding, or did you really own these 12" not knowing they were rare? I find that not only hard, but utterly impossible to believe
  24. Can't be bothered to vote in this poll... IMHO mr. Algranati is mediocre at the heighth of his powers. I find that the Indoor album had only 2-3 stand out tracks (The Key, Shiva, Mad Horizon), and the rest was naaaaah... I actually think those few tracks recorded as Inscape kick the hell outta anything the trio has recorded as Indoor. Phreaky is amazing, those tracks are superb, no doubt about it, but it's like an all star collaboration, so saying it's mainly Avi's merit would be unjust, I say. As for Space Cat's albums? Out of sheer respect for quite a few people who seem to dig his debut, I'll hold myself back from further commenting upon those releases.
