  1. No matter how much do the news about a potential Flying Rhino Records come back overwhelm me with joy, I must say I just don't see them coming back to pursue the "old" sound. I would expect so much more from such a great label! They were known for ALWAYS pushing forward the envelope, they were amongst the first to bravely venture into experimenting with new sounds and ideas, and I just don't want their resurrection to be a re-acquirement of a sound they abbandoned 10 years ago. Steady moving forward and progression- that is what I wanna see! :posford: Go Go Go Go Go Flying Rhino :clapping: :clapping:
  2. I'm usually not a "record label" collector, if you follow me, I just wanna have a collection packed with great music, regardless of the bar code and the record label or/and distributor's name stamped on the back of my CD case... That said, I have most of Blue Room Released records, I have the key Flying Rhino Records releases (to be honest, I am having hell of a hard time finding and purchasing some of those older CD Maxis of theirs ), and of coarse, my wonderful, old collection of techno music: ALL the key releases from Tresor Records and Music Man Records! Oh yeah, Suntrip Records as well! :drama:
  3. I just finished listening to V/A Destination Goa- Best of (2XCD) (1999) (Why Not Records) where Hallucinogen's Space Pussy is to be found. Despite the somewhat inconvenient title, let alone irrelevant to the music, I just discovered how amazing this track actually is . It only took me around 5 years, but I got there. OK then, not to leave the impression that I'm on the guy's balls, I always thought of mr. Posford as being the psy trance version of Mick Jagger. He has got to be the most undeservably venerated producer this genre has ever gave birth to. Far from being the most talented or famous, he is the most long lasting, talked about and overrated persona on the stage for well over a decade now...
  4. I - N - C - R - E - D - I - B - L- E - ! - ! - ! I don' think the english vocabulary has any better terms to describe this album. At least my fat Webster lacks them... While to the vast majority the first association with the pioneering, ever changing trance duo X-Dream would be the more minimalist, technoid sound of "Radio" or "Irritant", to me Rough & Rush will always be all about '97's "We created our own happiness"! I reckon that no more than a dozen albums in my entire collection burst with so much talent, energy and beauty! Every milisecond of this gem oozes unsurpassed quality, not topped even by their later, more talked about work. Doing a track by track analysis would be pointless, instead, I'll take that time to listen through the album once again... My favorite tracks would however be the evergreen Our Own Happiness, with one of the wildest, grooviest and coolest bass lines evargh decorating a psy trance track, and the following track, Eleven, builds up soooooo nicely, with such an euphoric melody that I cannot but wonder why the sudden change in style after this release? An honorable mention goes to this album's perfect flow. It really does portray itself as an entity, consisting of eight separate musical masterpieces very smoothly mixed into each other- you'll feel like you're on a 74 minute journey to utopia... A true testament to the old school, X-Dream's farewell letter to goa trance, an undeniable classic, their magnum opus - whatever - call it what you want to, but do not be without it! It was re-released a few years back, and is super easy to find. Enjoy!
  5. That is like soooooooooooo off track, man! This lil' baby came out in '94, and somehow I reckon the author of the wiki text was refering to this one: http://www.discogs.com/release/118748
  6. I'll be checking this one out for sure. The last two installements of the series were not full blown masterpieces, but offered a few great tracks each, IMHO. I hope this third compilation keeps up the good vibe set by the previous two, and provides some dance floor killers. The track list is a mixed bag, as far as I am concerned, but I really hope that some of these artists will deliver nice tunes!
  7. for the first part of the quote! My bad, it seems I really did get you wrong, I hope you took no offence (not too much that is)... My apologies to you! But, it is the second part of your post that I quoted, and I tend to disagree with you here. Why? Mainly because to my humble knowledge, the music we refer to as goa trance today, was purely made to make people dance, slap a smile on their face and let them have a good time. No deeper goal as far as the music is concerned. What happened later, that is a whole new story. But in its essence, just like techno, goa trance is pure and uncut party music, with no complex messages. Or am I wrong? As for the drug-psychedelic relationship, I must admit that I have never in my life been a consumer of any illegal substance, and I don't think that makes me less conscious of the beauty of this music than some "shiva shanti" acid freak fool. Or does it? I don't think the adjective psychedelic should be strictly tied to drugs, or else we risk into falling in a trap, where goa/psy trance will be regarded as music for wasted monkeys. Drugs are an optional luxury, and as far as I am concerned, the difference between an "E" popping raver and an so called "enlightened" acid eating hippie is NONE. That's right, both of 'em are more or less on the same level, for what I might care. Drugs are drugs, and my viewpoint of them is pretty rigid, so I won't even try to understand why does an acid trippin' dude come across as more self aware than some extasy munching party animal... And as for the music, well psytones, that is what ALWAYS happens when something finally breaks into the daylight, and when people realize its full potential. Hip hop went from its humble beginnings in Brooklyn and Queensbridge some thirty years ago, and now it's a musical genre covering an entire globe, churning out thousands of releases each year! Techno, being a branch of electronic music itself, went from Detroit's damp warehouses to modernly equipped clubs on Ibiza, enormous festivals, producing house hold DJ names, stars, and hundreds of highly prolific produxers. So why shoud goa trance be an exception? From its humble roots to its present state of being. Once its potential was realized, it was only natural that the music should spread around, slowly from country to country, and gain popularity. I figure it must be something like an unwritten law or something... It was only a matter of time before goa trance gets exploited and full blown. That is just the way things are. You may disagree, and I never said I don't, but there isn't me or you can do here...
  8. Are you saying that because somebody does not have a PHD, is not highly educated and did not go to university cannot or could not have liked goa trance back in the ninetees? I cannot consider myself a fan of an entire music genre because I didn't read enough? Hell, I was nowhere to be seen in school and I was dying for new releases... Intellectual people? I used to unload construction material off trucks and not read books, and was still crazy about goa trance. What the fuck are you saying? And what the fuck does it have to do with Suzuki's pointless statement? The way you make it sound seems as if though people whose inner self is not sophisticated enough (and all that bla bla bla crap) cannot enjoy a branch of electronic music, originally concieved for dancing, and not some shitty intellectual discussions...

  11. Blue Planet Corporation (Gabriel Masurel & Christophe Lebras) + Khetzal (Matthieu Chamoux) + June Rashava (she would do the vocals)
  12. I myself am a Destination Goa freak all the way. The Goa Head series never really did it for me as I quickly realized that I own most of its tracks on proper artist albums and label compilations... Distance To Goa has some gems, yeah, and those DJ mixes were cool, while the Tantrance series contained some tunes which would wound up shaping my future taste in music. I eventually got turned away from that series as most of those Tantrance V.A.s contained famous tracks I already owned on other releases, prior to buying the afore mentioned compilations.
  13. Seraph must be my twin or something... + 1000000 Actually, I find Radio, Freak and Psychomachine to be the tracks to make "Radio" the album it is today. As for the rest of the quoted tracks, ALL are A+ material.
  14. Honestly, I always considered Boris Blenn to be a mediocre artist with some jaw dropping classic tunes tucked under his belt buckle... I find, like so many others, Paradise Connection to be his finest work, but as far as the best tracks he's ever done, in my ears One Love and Out Of Time from his "One love" album were not topped. Not ever. Spectral Blue comes in close with one of the greatest bulid ups I have ever come across in psy trance. Sweeeeeet!!!
  15. Etnica sucks. The Pleiadians do even more. Their music is a cheese superstardom. :drama: I'm not always like this. Only when I get back home from work. Fuck, even this slice of (usually delicious) pizza sucks right now!
  16. I'm with Nemo here. If they can make me dust off my Dopplereffekt albums, I'll acknowledge their change in sound. If not, no big loss... :drama: Joke. I kind of gradually lost interest in the whole electro scene, especially today, when acts such as the Berlin based duo Electrixx is considered top notch music... I guess I'll just wait and see, there's plenty of other music floating around until this drops!
  17. It may not happen that often, but when reger has a point, it is fucking hard not to give it to him! Spot on, mr. smiley! When I pay for my music, and subsequently do not like it, I could give two shits about what the artist was trying to say? Should I? No. Who do I think I am? A consumer. That is right! A consumer, who willingly spends his own money in order to support a certain artist. Does that mean I have to know what the mentioned artist was trying to say? It certainly does not. And frankly, I do not care- if I do not like a certain melody or sound, I just don't like it... And the "who the fuck do you think you are?" attitude is soooooooo out of place here... Or maybe it isn't? Why don't we all just quit buying music, quit listening to it, and therefore stop writting reviews and expressing opinions? Bottom line is: who the fuck are we to say what is good and what isn't? Right?

    Pleiadians - IFO

Somebody's getting sooooooooooooooooooooo removed from my stentorian MSN contact list... :drama:
  19. Argh, you are sooooooooooooo teasing me!!! In fact, I was thinking of bringing you over to play in Croatia the next time I rob my local bank... Thanks for another amazing video, keep the good vibes coming, and naturally, do not stop the music flow! Go go go go :clapping: Damn, you + Filteria = a full blown sonic warfare :posford:
  20. Hello Suntrip people! As far as an interesting CD booklet goes, one that comes into my mind is the booklet from the V.A. The History Of Goa Trance (2005) (Yellow Sunshine Explosion) ( http://www.discogs.com/release/427745 )... If you don't own this compilation, I strongly suggest you borrow it from somebody, and take a look at how they formulated the 12 page booklet with interesting detail. I would also like a nice, brief (with some interesting details though) history of Suntrip Records; and I am not talking about the three line summary on discogs... I would also like to know about the good and the bad, the highs and the lows, the trials and tribulations, and maybe some good to know particulars about the artists, such as: where do they get their inspiration from, what are their musical heroes and stuff like that... Don't get me wrong- I don't want essays, but some info on how does Suntrip Records incorporate its artist roster in today's scene, where do you think you stand today, some flashbacks, some plans or hints of what is to come... Make us read the booklet! Spice it up! Don't make a 24 page objective resume of what we already know; give us something more! :posford: Give us something that will make us want to keep on supporting and listening to your music!!! Hope that helps...
  21. Hey man, isn't this pacman #2 for you, as I seem to recollect your recent encounter with a "pacmaned" version of Doof's debut? Anyways, that sucks. Nothing more to add.
  22. It is incredible how smart you are reger: I am arrogant, I do consider my musical preferences to be on a whole new and higher level compared to yours, even though I do not know them. I do not care to know them. But what I do know is that my musical tastes are superior to yours. They just are, no matter what kind of music do you listen to. Am I arrogant? Yeah. Hell yeah. And I couldn't care less. Anyways, I wrote that by not posting in this topic, you obviously don't like music- and since you did reply, well... Go figure... Anyways, back on topic: KoxBox are the gods of psy trance. Period.
  23. By not posting in the official KoxBox appreciation topic, you are most probably making it official that you do not like music. As far as their career peak goes, I would have a seriously hard time saying they ever outdid "Forever after" or any of the tracks from 1996' uber classic "Stratosfear EP" (CD Maxi)! But yeah, "The great unknown" comes in as a close second places, a silver medal. Tracks like The Great Unknown, Lunar Bin and Geomancer are divine. Meaning my, or anybody else's, words do not and cannot do them justice. And let us not be ignorant and not mention those two marvellous EP's they released as Psychopod! Koxbox is one of my all time top three psy trance projects. A very justified official appreciation topic, there ought to be one every two months. That is how good KoxBox are. I know, I know how hard it is to pour your feelings and thoughts into words. It must be very hard to apply modern linguistical structures to describe God's work... Just open this thread and write a simple thank you... That should do.
  24. A marvellous compilation, and one of the first releases I ever bought; first time on vynil, then came the Matsuri Productions original CD, then came the polish SPV release, then... IMO all the tracks are awesome! Oh, so it's already out? Gotta get it too, asap! :posford:
  25. I'm already having fun with this. Take your wildest guess, and try to draw a supposition about the quality of my unreleased MP3s? :pissed: To think positive: at least with headphones on they sound nice... Relatively nice.
