  1. Soooo I've got some really I think funky forst atmospheric tracks down (not mixed right by the base is there). Now I've got a load of old PC games from the 90's that have great sample in 'em. I've got no idea on sampling such things. Any tips?
  2. Getting the MPK2 49 midi controller from akai today. Also got a Good offer on a paid of Adam F7 monitors. Can't say no to those two new for a thousand bucks!
  3. The samples from Dungeon Keeper are from the Mentor. It was a great little dark humour game back some time ago. I loved the game series and enjoy the track immensely. http://dungeonkeeper.wikia.com/wiki/Mentor
  4. Yeah the Pro 2 looks like it'll be a really nice synth even though it's a bit pricey. Running that with 9u of Intellijel & Make Noise modules, plus later a full system of all The Harvestman will set me up nicely as well as 1 or 2 X0XB0X. Drum wise I just use samples for now but will eventually get the Roland TR-8 and like the Roland system-1 as a live synth. Sofy synth wise I only have Omnisphere for now. It keeps me entertained but I find it boring. Just realised Akai are putting out anew 61 keys MPK midi which I will get instead of M-Audio. It looks really good.
  5. and for 909 madness http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKeVmmfeSPI
  6. Ableton for all me EDM including psy & ambient projects. Pro Tools for any live instruments & vocal tracking that I do. Would def. use FLStudio if it was released as a OSx native program, so simple and fun to make tunes on but yeah I'm 100% Apple so no go. Curious to know peeps fav midi controller? Currently I use Ableton Push but I hate it. Find it hampers my work flow heaps. Selling it with my Moog & getting the M-Audio Axiom Pro AIR 61 keyboard instead. Will use software until I have enough saved fro the new DSI Pro 2 synth. Even thought it's got digital oscilators it's and absolute beast as the mothership synth for a studio. Especially if you're heading in to the world of modular.
  7. Tickets to The Wiggles concert in November this year. Our second child will have arrived and I want my son to have a special time with his Dad because I'm sure he will struggle a bit losing some attention. Also bought him The Wiggles set of 6 books & a Thomas The Tank Engine book. I bought some meat n veg for dinner tonight. Steak, mashed spuds & stir fried veg. My wife needs more red meat. Expensive but her doctor said is needed for the pregnancy.
  8. Australia sucks right now and I think the current government is making things much harder for low to middle income earners. Is say in australia if you're single you'd wanna be on $60-70K per year to be ok. $80-100K to be comfortable. My bro in law is a partner at a top law firm and with 4 kids plus wife working part time is really struggling to make ends meet.
  9. Thanks Janet, will try. Today I was kinda interrogated by my sons daycare. He fell at the park on Sunday and has a black eye with bruising going down his cheek. It looks horrible. Anyway I guess because I got my Mohawk shaved again to the skin on the sides and I dress kinda alternative they asked me loads of questions about what happened. At first I was out off by this but then I realize if they don't check it out properly who looks out for the possibly abused kids? It makes me happy they do this because there are sometime cases where they don't ask and the child is worse off for it. Currently chilling out to Sundrops compilation from Suntrip
  10. Great stuff and thanks to all for replying. Really excited for this. Am currently listening to all the Suntrip compilations in chronological order. Enjoying the a lot more than I remember I did last time.
  11. Yes I got a T-shirt for Lucid Flux. It looked ok but after one wash it ripped a huge hole when I put it on. I was annoyed but hey it's the consumer beware side of things. I will buy their releases but not the clothing.
  12. Actually Radi it is more likely that those are the ppl who donate the most. The wealthy ones. You know why ? Because in most countries they will get the donations back through their tax cuts/tax return. I know because my sister-in-law used to work for one of the biggest philanthropy organizations in Australia. Ppl I thought were a$$holes in personality would donate hundred of thousands if not a million or two anonymously for the tax breaks. It's works well . It means the charities get their cash and the rich get a tax benefit. The average low-middle class person doesn't not donate much at all because their daily costs are too high, plus the tax breaks are not so great when your income is average.
  13. Keen to get this but kinda holding out as they said on Isratrance there will be a limited CD run later this year.
  14. Top work. For me Tribal Encore is still their milestone. That CD just blows my mind whereas Lucid Flux and this one come in at being gear but not amazing. Very keen to see what they pull for Tribal Encore Deux.
  15. For sci fi am reading this authors Humanity Fire series http://www.michaelcobley.com/books/ Also reading Stephen King's new detective book Mr Mercedes which is pretty generic but I enjoy his style of writing. I have never watched game of thrones but am thinking of reading some of the books.
  16. It's what you make of the place, situation and experience Radi, not what it makes of you. You can choose to no enjoy a place because you think it doesn't not for want of a better word resonate with you, but why not take control and resonate with the place instead? I don't like the new house my wife and I built much at all. We only are keeping it because it's good place for our kids to grow up in and also she inherited it half done, and by age of retirement it will be worth a lot more. But after 6 months of battling with the house and the area I have decided to use my positive sides to change it to a house and area I enjoy. I have new friends now, even some are ppl I would not normally be friendly with and also taken a room in the house to shape as my own. I feel more comfortable and happy. So take control and stop moving. You'll never find perfection. Also accept any issues like camera flashes etc. because we all have physical and mental aspects of ourselves that can be used to stop us from enjoying life. Just accept these issues and get out and experience life. It's not easy to start doing but FFS just do it! If we all lived in our self made safety bubbles life would be so boring. I for one would not know what it is to stand at the top of the Anapurna Circuit in Nepal. I could have easing pulled out of that monstrous trek as I'd been horribly I'll the week leading up to it with gastro. But I made myself do it and depspite days of crying and extreme physical and mental pain I reached the top and every bit of it was worth it for those few hours. Just get outside and experience everything life had to offer!!
  17. Yes it's a very nice compilation, a massive step up from the first one where many tracks I don't enjoy. The Talpa track IMO always is my fav here. The old school rave style piano roll just tugs and my old raver heart strings. Despite that I've never bought any other tracks of his but definitely enjoy this little gem.
  18. I missed this Janet so thank you for your kind words. It was exhaustion & low BP but sorted out now. Right now I'm just hanging at a cafe where you pay for them to mind your kid. Getting some weird states from other parents as I got my Mohawk re-shaved to the skin on the sides last night and probably not considered appropriate for a Dad by conservative folk (most of Australia ). Am drinking some Chai and trying to get my anxiety under control. I'm so weird. Saw two ants in my house last night and it just triggers a bad episode of anxiety. Ants ffs!
  19. Sounds nice. Keen to get some Neogoa label in my collection. Not being a big fan of digital only this looks like it'll be a nice addition. Hope it's available via Bandcamp for download as well as CD
  20. Really quite nice but I find the Dragun track heads a little bit too much in the direction of cheese. The lead at parts is very much like the early happy hardcore hoover sound from the Dutch scene and it's weird hearing it in a goa style context. Other than that it's a nice compilation but not as good as the first or the third. Looking to get some of the albums from this label next.
  21. Science Of Acid is awesome. I saw The Geezer live around '98-'99. A big mixing console, a 909 & 808, 2x303's and a sampler was all he had. About 2 hours of solid hanging minimal techno until the last 30 minutes of roaring 303 madness. How he was able to program on the fly like that I'll never understand.
