  1. Love it. it sounds like it's straight out from the 90's. Sounds like ppl just having fun making th emusic without aiming to make it for the dancefloor or to be overly commercial. Got this one to give it a try but will definitely be purchasing all their works for sure. Really fun music for a change.
  2. I do think a big problem with this scene and elecetronic music in general now is that labels market it for DJs more than listening, so you lose the unique sound of the artist because it's aimed more for the big sound system. I was at a mate's warehouse last night and played some old Goa vs newer Goa on his outdoor PA system. The older stuff didn't sound great on the system but of course the newer stuff sounded amazing. Yet when I listen to older Goa on my headphones or car stereo it sounds great, where as I find a lot of the newer stuff intolerable on headphones. Interesting how the sound design has changed to fit with the market.

    Heavy metal.

Not sure but you mike enjoy Blotted Science http://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Blotted_Science/94384 You should also check out some technical death metal. Obscura for exampl have the most amazing guitar I've ever heard ut it's kinda heavier than prog metal. anyway just some thoughts.
  4. Ages ago Hallucinogen was performing for the first time ever in Melbourne, early-mid 90's. Anyway I never knew what he looked like but before his set I was dancing next to this pasty British dude & chatting about how awesome seeing Hallucinogen on next was. This dude was so down to earth & also seemed super excited for Hallucinogen. Then next thing I know he's walking on stage to perform. He was f#cking Simon Posford . Was funny at the time. Also met Infected Mushroom around '98. Super nice guys. Especially Erez. Then I met Astral on their Amen tour, ok guys, nothin special or real PLUR. Also met Alien Project around that time, came across as an absolute w*nker sorry. Really arrogant & self centered.
  5. Artist album or compilation? Can't wait! Mine arrived finally a week ago and is fine. No complaints. Was worth spending the cash via bandcamp and having the download to listen to.'
  6. Gotta say that Colin Oood's remastering work has done wonders on class tracks compared to the work Tim Schuldt has done for reissues on Suntrip. All the Dimension 5 reissues sadly just sound flat & boring when I compare them to the original releases. I don't understand it either as Schuldt remastered some DAT stuff as well as Anjuna Records and it sounds amazin. I really love & respect what Suntrip do but the work Schuldt does is not up to standard IMO compared to his work elsewhere. Another album that falls flat for me & I think it's mastering is X-Dream's We Interface. It has some amazing tracks to use in crossover sets for techno/tech-electro but I find I spend way to much time having to adjus them to get good sound. I've spent some time mastering at one of the top studios here in Australia as part of my studies & realize that so often what the artist or labels wants clashes with what the engineer thinks should happen, and more and more one finding it's better to let the engineer doing the mastering/remastering to have his way.

    V/A - Abracadabra

Still my fav H&H release. Lots of good stuff for dj'ing & works well in both the psychedelic and techno community. Good mix of groove & percussive elements. Miss this label & Boshke Beats on CD.

    Heavy metal.

Right now I'm going through a big Opeth spree. Really like their last album even though it's prog rock not really metal
  9. and made out. Sorry. It just seemed the logic fantasy outcome. Anyway so jealous. Winter is starting here in Australia & no festivals. One day I hope these festivals will still be going & although I'll be entering Raja Ram's age range I'd like to attend a few. 55 year olds would be welcome at such gigs yeah?
  10. Actually being a child of the 80's I don't mind Alien Jesus. I just don't consider it to be psy or goa. It's just pretty average vocal EDM but there's much worse vocal EDM out there. For me the worst so far would be anything from Neelix or his cohorts. I was lent a whole heap by a mate who dj's that rubbish to try & convince me it was good but it just gives me a feeling of nausea. Horribly predictable, nothing remotely interesting sound wise & yeah well you get the idea.
  11. Old track. Was a classic in the days I spent in England in their London acid scene. Not as good as tracks like London Acid City or Mad Cows On Acid. I knew many punters, producer & promoters back the and now that have that attitude towards this scene. Especially the harder acid side of things that attracted a lot of the punk movement and it's attitude. If your looking to expand your acid techno collection I'd recommend hunting for the Acid Flash & Acid Traxx series. All styles & sounds. Quality stuff.
  12. I've found Tim Schuldt's mastering is always quiet flat. It just sounds boring IMO. It's why I find so much of Suntrip's work pre 2012 hard to sit through. Actually only since Blacklight Moments have they taken off. As far as the new generation of Goa trance goes it's Timewarp Records that have blown me away with the quality of the final product in terms of sound. It just seems to catch the energy so well. Actually Tim Schuldt seems to excel at mastering darker stuff, all of his work on Anjuna Records has been amazing. Maybe because his background is more the darker industrial style. I am thinking Suntrip probably has a good deal price wise with him now that makes switching to someone else unaffordable.
  13. Life's a tought one isn't it? Especially when you live in constant fear & anxiety due to a psychological disorder. I was doing alright really, but it started to unwind last Saturday when I found some dead ants in the kitchen. I had the house externally sprayed by a pro for bugs & this just really annoyed me. It set off my anxiety disorder & so I had a big fight with my wife. Then it was settling again & I met her for lunch on Monday and had a wonderful time in the park with our 2 year old lad. And the universe decided to completly f#ck with me. 2 years ago when we were in our apartment we had a German cockroach infestation. I mean they were crawling out of the kitchen cupboards, crawling down the walls & out of our aircon unit. It took a lot of effort by the extermination to get rid of them but he eventually did. These buggers were actually what set my anxiety disorder completly off the wall. And so after such a nice day with my wife & son I took him home for his nap and low and behold inside the front door I find a f%cking German roach on it's back. Yeah it was dying. No my search of the house has not turned up any eveidence of anymore, the pest bloke I called had a chuckle and said it had probably wandered in off the street or from a neighbour and was dying from the spray barrier he'd done early on. But today my anxiety when I work! I could hardly think straight, my hear felt like it was going to explode with pain. I cried and cried & begged my wife to take a sick day. She couldn't but luckily my psychologist has a free appointment at 5pm tonight & my wife can come home in time to look after our son so I can go. It's just such a hard condition to live with. To know that a freaking bug can cause me such angst & suffering. Anyway I just needed to get it out. I'm just feeling soooo miserable
  14. Elie IMO is def. the best track on here. Closely followed by the E-Rection remix which gives such a different vibe to the X-Dream remix. Great y'all!
  15. I think it's just that AP's remix album hurt a lot of long time fans. Personally their actual releases the last decade though few and far between have been IMO top notch full on with a Goa vibe. I'd love for a proper remix album on CD by them. Also hoping that as Sandman is still listing himself as part of the TIP roster they might put out a new album of his, IMO this scene could do with a new dose of hard industrial style psy trance. Even some of his classics remastered or remixed. Anyway off topic there. I just hope TIP don't jerk is around.
  16. An official 2xcd release? Sounds awesome. Why out it on a Ektoplazm when his CDs on Ovnimoon/Timewarp sell?
  17. Anyone else here a big fan? Back when I was travelling around SE Asia, Nepal & India heaps his music was just the best stuff for long journeys on rickety buses & trains. Also great for chilling on the beach watching hot babes or being with mine I remember laying some laid back afternoon sets on the beach in Thailand in the late 90's/early 00's of mostly his tunes. Went well with whiskey on the rock & a smoke up. My fav track of his is actually a dusty sounding remix that always takes me straight back to the wild market places of India. It is the first track on Lulse 11. Blame C. - Nightmarket (Gabriel Le Mar Remix). Such a perfect name for this track. No one makes this dusty style any more IMO.
  18. No I feel that I wasted a lot of my early life & could've become more than what I am now. Now I am more stuck in an for of disappointment & am trying hard to dig out of it but when you have a young family, a mortgage etc. it's hard to follow dreams. I really do sometims find it sad how excited I get over the prospect that my drive way is finally going to get paved. It makes me wonder when I became a suburban Dad instead of a fun loving Goa-head. *sigh*
  19. Yeah have listened through only once but I'm currently not as blown away as I expected, and sadly IMO there's way too much of Crossing Mind wen if two tracks have been remixed. I'm sure it'll be great overtime but I much preferred Blacklight Moments from the first listen. Hopefully this grows.
  20. Well we only married in 2010 but had been together since 1998 (met in final year of high school). Don't get me wrong we have our moments. She sees the world in grey & I"m a black n white kind of guy. Also I'm very passionate i guess, & stubborn. We don't fight as much now about things simply because of our little boy. But I can tell you a few plates & phones have met an untimely demise over the years . Pluse being married to a person with a mild mental illness (me) is not easy at the best of times so i am grateful to have found somebody who will alway be with me through the good & the bad. Back on topic: Radi my other advice is if you feel like this & go to a gig avoid drugs. When I was in the throes of depression in the early 2000's a friend convinced me to try LSD at a gigs as he was sure it would enlighten me and help me escape my despair. It only made things much worse. So be careful. IMO natural remedies & good therapy are the only real good ways to solve this.
  21. Really want this but also need the second Filteria album. Why isn't it available via bandcamp? I much prefer to get the download after paying for CD.
  22. Sounds like depression to me. I've dealt with mine for decades. My tips? Stay off medication, do some kind of regular exercise even for half an hour every few days, avoid drugs & moderate alcohol and caffeine, do some activities that involve other ppl. At worst just to your local library or cafe and read a book there instead of home. Also remember that these states usually are transient & will come and go. Also, it's important to remember that you can have great friends & even love without sharing anything in common. My wife can't stand my music choices, my reading (sci-fi, fantasy & true crime) and she doesn't like my movie choices (horror & sci-fi). Yet we share other common interest like eating out & travelling, as well as politics and other stuff. I've been with her for 16 years now and we always wonder why we stuck it out as we're such opposites. Also, remember that it's ok to feel however you feel. If you feel depressed, sad or angry that's ok. These feelings are what make us human and though they can be hard to deal with at times they also are transient. Don't beat up on yourself, you are awesome for just being who you are & don't let any other person tell you otherwise. I was severely bullied physical & mentally for 10 years of high school, to the point I nearly killed myself over it. So I know how sh#t this work can seem, but there's plenty more that's good.
  23. http://www.discogs.com/Various-So-Far-So-Good-So-What/release/5174370 Some industrial type techno from Nachtstrom Schallplatten. 47 track "best of" digital compilation. If you liked the third a The Delta album you should enjoy this.
  24. Amoro Montenegro It's a nice break from single malt scotch. On ice with a slice of lemon, in front of the fireplace as winter has started to kick in here. With some chilled tunes playing. Baby in bed. Makes for nice nights.
  25. The scene was divided over a decade ago. Why not be open minded and let ppl call it whatever they want?
