I haven't heard the first one, fingers crossed on the reissue but this one for me is a nice package but I find that it doesn't captivate my attention as much as other old Goa/ Psy. I find I tune out to this and it becomes more background music. A great release but from what I gather the first volume would be more my style. Intrigued to see where a third will go as well. I do wish for some of the really darker side of the old scene like Schuldt, Xenomorph, Cydonia, (later) Psychaos & Sandman to get reissued more than what Anjuna Records are doing.

Taking a break from the craziness in life for this post. Anyway yeah when I lived in the city center here I always used to give some spare money to this homeless bloke. He never spoke except to whisper a thanks & his begging style was very shy n' unobtrusive unlike many others. A few years back I asked to interview him for a community radio show I was doing on homeless ppl. I took him for lunch in a park, he had many problems from mental health to abuse as a child but he said some wonderful things about the beauty and magic of life as well. I got his permission and used to use those parts in my house/breaks/Chillout/IDM dj sets for segues that didn't mix well otherwise. I also got him in touch with a good psychologist friend who saw him for about a year weekly for free. Not sure what happened to him in the end as he disappeared but best sampling I had. Out of respect when I lost contact I don't use the samples anymore. Sampling live sources of sound for me is very fun but also tidying it up even on solid equipment gets tiring & frustrating so now if I can find an already mastered sample that I have in mind I just buy it or the pack. The Omnisphere program I've used at a friends place is a pretty amazing vsti for strange and experimental sounds. IMO though no software is worth $500 unless it's a pack of some kind.

Psy is the artist name, it has nothing to do with the genre. The "Happy" track is for the kids movie Despicable Me 2. Pahrrel didn't write it, some other peeps did and after some dude passed in it Pharrel nabbed it as he was going through a period of severe depression at the time and the song was a bit of therapy. Personally I find so much more offensive pop music out there. From the soft porn of R&B/Hip Hop to the cheesy One Direction rubbish. I only know of this music as my wife listen to the radio in the car. Generally I still listen to psy trance, Steve Roach & the mind bogglingly amazing tribute to Pete Namlook album (I've got the 9 CD box set I bought last year on the way finally). Generally for my son I like to have jazz & classic rock on. He digs it even at 2. As for psy trance, he complains no matter what sub genre and asks for me to "turn it off Daddy, shhhh!" Although he doesn't mind a bit of house music I've got on old mix CDs.

If enjoyed that then you should wait for the new Tantrumm Records compilation that's about to come out.

What's the signature hihat you speak of? Is it the one that simply sounds like it's been run through the a MS-20 filter? It's not hard to replicate. And seriously, it's just a hihat. lol. The term "signature hihat" is hilarious.

How much you pay? I accept no less than $600USD per track before I snake final product, plus I need a 3 year touring country all expenses paid to biggest European festivals inc. flights, premium accomadation and an unlimited credit for shopping. Also lots of hot 20 years old chicas oiled and awaiting my pleasure in each hotel.

So I've beenistenjng to all my tunes from Active Meditation label this week & I'm currently on Mindwar 2. Now this one is mastered by label own himsel Mr Demoniac Insomniac. I'm not sure what he did but the volum is a lot lower & the music seems to really breathe and us the space compared to the earlier releases which seem in comparison obnoxiously load and too in your face. It's exactly what if find to be the problem in most modern psy. I guess it's because most are produced for party situations and not to listen at home but I have to say I really enjoy Mr Insomniacs efforts to make the music breathe. It's fresh sounding.

Cheese may be wrong word, it's more like an old school Dutch rave sound to me than Goa or Psy. I never followed Nitzho before Sita so I dunno if it's like old Nitzho sound either. I did actually use the track at a "retro" rave last weekend here and it fit quite well with other old early 90's rave sounds when mixed properly.

I can promise that I'd be buying at least 3 copies of the reissue. One for me, my goa loving nephew and one for my bro-in-law as well. It'd be great if the charity could have a digital version, but I also knew it was funds management that is questionable, as well as I know from other sources in the industry that once a product goes digital piracy rate is higher than just physical copies (Gio Makyo and I discussed this with his Purnima album). It's something called personal taste & experience. Whilstm opinion may not be the same as yours i stick by it. it's no means a bad track or anything, this is the reviews section and a review contains opion and that is what I gave. I make no apologies if this confuses or upsets you, I"m perfectly happy to agree to disagree on this.

Yo so what is going on? I know Draeke is busy with other stuff but seriously I can only find rubbish low grade mp3 online & I'm not gonna bother the bandwith. Is there anyway I can get wav files of this & make a $30USD donation to the original charity? I felt so bad for downloading the mp3 I made a $20USD donation the charity as I've never downloaded illegaly before, but I'd happily give a further $30USD for wav's?

I'd add some kinda dark hi-tech. Not on sale at psyshop but the double CD Universus A-Um on Kamino Records is really nice.

As much as I dislike then and now the religious iconography I've actually found some artists do follow the belief systems and therefore it's IMO ok to use the symbolism, but if it's for marketing then yeah that's kinda wrong but hasn't western civilization always stolen from other cultures and used this for their own benefits? Either way I always preferred alien imagery or futuristic robot/city type images as this is how the music has always felt for me.

Sorry. Very well said Radi. Look I'll say this, my view on the subject of poverty and disability is blacn and white and my wife finds this humorus as life is not black and white. My wife is proof that education & health if provided and adminstered correctly can allow both the poor and disabled to achieve more than what society currentyl assumes they can. My wife's father was told she would never walk let alone talk, eat by herself or drive. Let aone give birth twice with a man who loves her and his kids so much he'd happily give his life for them without a thought. Her father persevered beyond all odds to give her what he could because she lost her mother at birth as well. He actually had to take physio's & doctors to court to get them to agree to provided her with service to improve her mobility & speech. Sure she didn't walk until she was about 7 years old but because he persisted she did. From his influence and persistents she was able to become independent and achieve a lot more than anyone else I know. Sure, they fled the country for 5 years because the government agencies wanted to remove her an place her in one of th emost notrious institutions of the time (imagine a cute Asian disabled girl in a place now heavily associated with the rape & physical abuseof minors). Anyway, Bill Gates and some of the others get the idea and his philantrhopy work is amazing but just the start. Bill Hicks said it best. You can find part of the sample in some psy track by Oood and recordings. Bottom line from my years of working in disability is that if you give these peopl half the chance they will prove to work harder and perform better than your average Joe. Good luck Radi, i had no idea about your eye condition but I can tell you that if you keep trying life will repay you. My only real complaint is spinal athritis but for some reason it isn't recognized as a disability here despite the fact that I pop discs more often than a dj.

and to clarify she has never accesed any government or charitable funding, she has done everything on her. Even thought her mother was killed by medical malpractice during her birth and her father died in a drowning accident in Thailand in 2007 leaving her with no family.

My wife has Cerebral Palsy. It was caused by medical malpractice, as it mostly is, and is the most common disability in the world. She can do anything you can. She drives a car, she has a masters degree at one of the top universities in Australia. She has given birth to 1 perfectly healthy child and is carrying our second. She is the sole breadwinner in our family. She also built us a $4million AUD house. She funds my music ventures, and she also will pay for our children to have excellent education and life opportunities. So any of you cunts that think people with disability should be denied the right to life should go and fucking hang your useless selves. It's a shame your mothers bothered pushing you out of their dirty cunts. Society is the reason people with disabilities and people liviing in poverty have no opportunity to contribute positively in this world of ours. Yes education and health is important, because if you give people with disabilites and poverty the chance to be educated and to be healthy they will contribute more than you lazy fucks.
