  1. I'm gonna abuse it until an admin reads your request, also if i'm not interested on a contest Padmapani arp mod + sunray bass+drums: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/33192470/with%20basss.wav there are 8bars bass+drums and 8 bar bass only at the end, for the next one to copy&past into next buildup some fancy fx someone pls xD edit: bass is C (148bpm) as the inital arp was on C too.. Padmapani: don't ask me about the scale/chords, was played at studio on the other side of the alps.. no clue about that stuff.. i just love synth knobs
  2. Ok, than i missunderstood the whole idea^^. Thought it's about taking a sample and than get creative it, doesn't need to be the main focus, but can also extend it with something else. Less of a contest, more of building a track iteratively.. i give an arp, you do a bass, next does some drums, next cuts the arp appart and makes another flow, next adds some fancy FM shots.. It's acutally how we work on "Zero Point Module" tracks - we life ~500km away from each other, so creating a track like posted above is about bouncing samples back and forth and get creative with it... we call this technique "stückhackln" (you need to be german do understand what it means.. XD)
  3. > But it cant just be a stab or a note... then cut a signle note out of it if you don't like the chord progression... but ok gonna send you single 'bling' next time (was just copy&paste from https://soundcloud.com/mfr/2-zero-point-module-unknown/s-T1zuH didn't wanted to spend time on that because of the reason you mentioned.. if nobody likes that synth-shot, i spend time for nothing )
  4. here some spacey arp.. go ahead https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/33192470/0001%2011-Audio-1.wav
  5. Latest one (not mastered yet and will get some better mixing before release.. I'll post the download link after mastered ): https://soundcloud.com/mfr/elegy-paradise-purple-sunray
  6. Don't forget about Opus Audio.. not that popular like the names on your list, but my favorite in terms of audio quality .. would probably go with 2x (maybe 4x) T300 tops and a T115 Sub for this kind of event, if you can afford it
  7. I completely disagree with that. Ofc you need learn to how do it right, it's not like pushing the "make music" button on the synth. But it isn't difficult neither, especially if you skip the sound design/synthesize phase and stick with arranging WAVs' form the new OmgROFLMonsterPsy sample pack. But that was not my point.. my point was that about half of my current top 10 tracks are coming from guys that do it out of fun. They are not even interested on releasing something, so you won't find them on suntrip or some other lable. They create music to express themselves, have fun while doing it and maybe play it live on some local parties - but you won't be able to buy a CD or download an album. Completely different world / scene I'm taking about.. if you start digging into it you will notice soon that the difference between a popular artist and an underground-artist is not the higher level of creativity / quality.. but the only difference is that the first one is popular, while the second one gives a sh*t about becoming popular. The "underground" scene is growing dramatically since a couple of years because of that democratization ding, with amazing talents all over, which is completely ignored in this forums / your posts. That's why I'm "inactive".. cuz I'm bored reading about artist / styles I already know
  8. cuz it's boring to discuss same again and again and again. We live in what some call "the democratization of music production by technology".. everyone with a PC and some music background can produce it's own tracks today and as a result of that we a HUGE amount of artists, with an unbelievable amount of creative output.... ... but all you can read here is "Goa, Astral Projection, Hallucinogen and Filteria" .. BOOORING! I do not even open topics that contain certain keywords, already know that I already know what's posted there.
  9. https://soundcloud.com/mfr/mini-night-psy-set-35min-147 But can't use it anymore... played to often already.. although still my personal favorite. ... and I will never play infront of 10k ppl, so no isue anyhow
  10. Phobos & Fog. Don't know anyone else that can catch up with those guys... love their sets.. full of unknown/unreleased sounds you have never heart before and you probably won't heart it again (but not just for the sake of playing unreleased stuff, high quality tracks only). Also the sets don't sound like 10 mixed tracks, but one 60min track.. very sophisticated style of mixing and track selection.. keeping the flow up all the way from min 0 to the end. Only bad thing is that you can't really listen to their sets other than joining an event, they don't put it online :/
  11. You are worried about the iPhone flashlights, but not about the 2000mW laser above the stage and the x KW spotlights left and right? Think you will be safe, there so no danger to notice a single iPhone flash inside this sea of lights
  12. are you kidding? those big festivals are more like living inside an iPhone while someone tries to shot you with a laserpointer
  13. That's what I love too. They replace about 70% of their lineup every year, always trying to bring fresh new stuff and the artists they come up are just awsome usually
  14. cya there and there isn't much forest on MODEM - some single acts, but it's mainly underground fullon, night- and darkpsy
  15. "Progressive" just describes the structure of the song, it's used on a lot of other genres too (progressive house, progressive techno ect.). The difference, technically speaking, is: if do you a 'normal' tack, you create a drum loop repeating during a bar. Now you take this loop and build your track around. Doesn't necessarily need to have any defined structure. If you do it 'progressive' this is not the case anymore, here you absolutely need to follow a certain structure. Progressive means 'ongoing' or 'evolving', so you do "Into - Buildup - Climax - Break - Buildup - Climax - Outro". All "Progressive" tracks have this, and exactly this structure.
  16. goa = progressive trance for most ppl <20. Especially here in Germany. Electro house (hyped couple of years ago) is almost gone, and has been replace by progressive trance (missed the "psychedelic" intentionally). So almost all young clubing folks know this genre, or better they think they know it - they talk about Tezla and Neelix while you talk about Filteria and Electric Univerese. Welcome neighbor..
  17. Sonic Core Modular from what i have heart/seen so far.. but nobody can't effort that $h!t if you don't run a studio..
  18. Use http://sourceforge.net/projects/steemsse/ to get that cubase running if you'r on windows, for mac I if have no clue^^
  19. +1 Also don't really understand this "to get released" mentality.. this always ends up same, either ppl spent time on something they shouldn't cuz they suck in it and blame others for blaming them. Or they copy from someone that has already been released and we end up the "all the same" issue, nobody trying something new because they all want to release. I probably have around 30 tracks I have made over the last years and released 2, not being happy at all about (those tracks could have been way way better). I just always ask myself "If I would be a label owner, would I put this on my hottest release?" Answer is no obviously.. so I just continue learning until I can honestly answer "yes" ... and than I start looking for getting released..
  20. Com'on.. you'r listening to psy, not death metal. Hippy folks usually have no problem to establish contacts, quite the opposite.. Don't know where you'r living, but just look for a nice park, walk around at a sunny day, watch for dreadlocks, fancy cloths and/or or weed smell and soon as found.. go there and say "Hey nice group, can I join you for a while?" .. they won't say "no". And don't tell me that doesn't exist in your city.. hippies are around everywhere, you just need to find them
  21. Think best idea is to just forget about to try categorizing tracks into sub-genres. Most shops, web-radios, or other portals have "Downtempo" for chill/dub, "Progressive Trance" where all the stuff <140bpm belongs to and "Psychedelic Trance" where everything else goes into. Maybe add "Dark Psychedelic Trance" for >160bpm, but just don't try to add categories like "Psyprog", "Suomi", "Fullon", "Melodic Morning", "Nightpsy", "Forest", "Hightech", "Psycore", .... bla Nobody that is not already familiar with the genre can do something with that names, and you will have track that fit into multiple, or none of the categories... so just keep it generic, especially since the page is not about trance only. So might look strange if you have 2 house, 2 dub, 2 trance and 99 psytrance genres..
  22. you'r welcome =) if you tell me the synth you are using, maybe I can design a preset and send it you so that you can see how it's done (if I have that synth). Did such 'scratchy' sounds countless times on various synths.. and it's pretty easy if you once you understood the basic synth setup.
  23. think it's a saw, fm modulated or strongly distored/shaped, playing a ryhtm loop with a highpass filter moving up and down
