  1. So what's your problem? If you can easily earn 5000 by just spending more time, this sound like a perfect situation. Go work like a moron for a month to get 5k, then meet chicks for the next 3 months until the 5k are spent, than switch to back to from party to $$$ refill mode. You won't have an issue as freelance if you can decide on your own how much work you want do / how much money you get. The only problem as freelance is, if you can't get as much work as you would like / need to have. If this is no issue for you, I don't get your problem at all. And about Hartz IV.. depends more on you than the persion that cares about you. Know ppl abusing it since years.. start a new job, quite after 1 day (just to make Hartz 4 ppl happy), do nothing for 2 months until they bring another job you also quite after 1 day.. accept some halftime, but your mother is seriously ill, sou can't do fulltime.. until they find out mother isn't.. than go accept yet another 1-day job.... .. they'r doing this bullshit since years w/o any real issue.
  2. 1) There is no way to make a living in Germany as a freelance with 500€ of revenue per month. You need to get a private health and pension insurance as a freelance. Maybe the "Künstler Sozialkasse" can help you a bit, if writing articles is rates as an art. But it will still eat almost all of your 500€ just for insurance and taxes. 2) A job doesn't mean you have to work 40h/week. The big advantage with having a job over being a freelancer is that you are part of the social security system. Your company pays a certain amount on the social insurances, instead of all left to you. You can get unemployment benefits ect. 3) If you don't want to work 40h, but way less, there is something called "Geringfügige Beschäftigung" in Germany. It basically means, that if you have a job, but your income is less than you would get via the social security system ('Hartz IV'), you can contact the social services department and get the difference from them. Yeah, I know, the system is ugly as hell, because all the tax-paying ppl are actually paying parts of your salary, just because your boss doesn't want to pay enough so that you can live from it... but as long is it still like that: go and use it..
  3. MO:DEM festival will be the only one for me this year I think, one week full of underground tunes.. no single cheesy pop-prog, blingbling fullon or oldshool bongo act on the line up... Yeah.. some might hate it for that, but I love it..
  4. ugly discussion... over and over and over again.. prog is no psy!! lacks psychedelic fx!! fullon is no psy!! no melody!! stuff from UK is no psy!! cuz it's from UK!! goa is no psy!! it's an indian state! dark is no psy!! just ugly ramdom noize! hightech is no psy!! it's intelligent, but no psy! .. go hold your breath until you turn blue to experience some real psy

  6. Really oldshool.. reminds me on the first raves parties.. back than when were still young The track was really nice back than.. but now it sounds kind of boring.. so 4/10 https://soundcloud.com/mfr/zero-point-module-smell-the-1
  7. You posted it already ^.^ cheapest energy supplier we have right now. If something would cost less you could be sure that we wouldn't drive pretolium-base vehicles anymore. The world is so damn simple.. it's all about the moneh
  8. I get your point radi Just think that we are more flexible than we think we are. 50 years ago it was absolutely ridiculous to travel to another continent for shopping or doing a business meeting for a couple of hours. Than there was phase were this was "bon ton" and you were a kind of a modest nobody if you didn't received your 1mio miles gift already. As of today in the world of skype and video conferences it starts to get ridiculous again. A crysis usually comes up if something unexpected happens, but the fact that we run out of petrolium is nothing unexpected. This is known since decades and will still have decades to address it. So I just don't think that we will sit there on 17.10.2113 20:00 and think "uuh?? damn!! they just told me that there is no more oil on my planet I can put into my car! o_O wtf?? so how shall I drive watching the football game tomorrow??? OHHH NOOO". Not everyone will be happy about that ofc, but I'm not seeing any big crysis coming because of this, simply because we still have a lot of time prepare - and we will be prepared for sure as there is just too much $$$ on that bizz to not take care off... companies will fight each other to push their solutions.
  9. Well.. I don't see this soo critical at all.. Personaly I try to minimize my waste of limited resources to a minimum anyhow. Sold my car about 1 year ago, first just out of interest to see if can life without. Found out that I can.. so I also won't buy a replacement that soon. Trying to only buy local stuff (yeah know.. not always possible) that hasn't been carried arround for 1000+km ect. So I'm pretty relaxed on that the oil-driven-world will come to an end soon.. already practice on how to life without And about the rest of world I'm also pretty optimistic. I mean.. we survived the ice age with no technology gimmicks at all.. I just don't beleve the oil-age comming to end will have any major impact to the human kind. We will transition into the next one, as we did with Muscle=>Horse=>Slave=>Carbon=>Oil=>?
  10. Think that isn't a big problem, average age of a car is around 10 years. Ofc you can't replace all petroleum cars with hydrogen within a year, but if this happens over 20-30 years no car-owner will have to do an extra invest as they would buy a new one anyhow. And about the industry/oil companies I'm even less worried. They're there to make $$$. That's the only reason why they are there. If they stick with petroleum while the sources dry up, they won't make any $$$ anymore. I'm 110% sure they will change their business model faster than you can think of if they run in danger of loosing money. Think the biggest hurdle to get over is to agree on what technology to use in the future. Hydrogen, hi tech-batteries, ammonia, any synthetic fuel? Or can you make that fusion reactor so small that it fits into a car? I think we will just see more diversity - where not all vehicles run with the same engine. Like the public transportation bus on batteries, the airplane on hydrogen, the personal car on ammonia and the container ship has a build-in fusion reactor... or something like that =)
  11. It's all just energy... Use your fusion power plant to produce hydrogen and put this into your tank instead of petroleum if you absolutely wanna stick to the car & gas station concept. Or run a moster-greenhouse aside with supper-fast growing plants (weed? ), 500MW of luminous power and you use the output to produce bio-fuel, or, or.. If you have access to a lot of cheap energy (like out of a fusion plant) it's no big deal to transform it - also if the efficiency factor is terrible low.. doesn't matter, the fusion plan will produces enough of it.
  12. alternatives aren't epensive... oil is just too cheap.. we don't need f*cking morons flying over half the globe, to make a 1/2h meeting talking about that deal to carry our food just arround the other half
  13. check out Klopfgeister and Day.Din (!!!!), from spintwist too or look for Ave Ventura, Captain Hook, Liquid Soul, Phaxe, Atmos, Flowjob, Gaudium ... omg there are sooo many.. (look for iboga records, they'r release really a lot of such sounds)
  14. wow, thanks for sharing. Just out of interest: are you running an booking agency / own event promotion too? Know a lot if labels that started hosting their own festivals/party's and also provide artist promotion/booking services. Just wondering is this "secondary activities" bring any noticeably revenue or if it just to bring more attention to the label and artists itself to push music sales on the other side.
  15. www.psytube.at - less electronic genres covered than on DI, but more focused on the psychedelic genres. Like it more than DI.fm as on DI you can basically select between goa and prog. Difficult to impossible to listen to some forest, hi-tech ect. there while on psytube they have dedicated channels for.
  16. @domot Fully agree. That's the DRM mess I mentioned before.. you get an MP3, but to play it you need to get a license, you are not allowed to burn or copy, if you move to your mobile you can't play it on the PC anymore, if the DRM server is down you can't play it at all and so on.. I would never ever buy something with such restrictions applied. The reason I bought it was mainly to support the artist and it's way easier to click buy on beatport than finding the artist contact infos and writing him to ask for payment details to donate.. especially for VA collections ;D There are some ppl moving in this direction already. Electrypnose for example offers an "Electroypnose membership" where you pay a yearly fee to get free access to all tracks he ever made + all new stuff made during that year. Don't know if how well this works out for him at the end, but nice a idea to bypass a lable, apple, paypal and all the others that take their share if you click on 'buy'
  17. Think I bought my last CD 10 years back, if not more.. maybe that's the reason why I don't understand this persistency-discussion at all. What stops you from burning your digital purchase onto a CD if you'r concerned about that it gets lost on your hard-drive? Or uploading it to a couple of online services, which usually don't lose it if it is on the server once. (DRM protected files are excluded ofc - I wouldn't buy that constrained sh*t anyhow).
  18. +1 Yeah.. it's bad for all who want to make money/their living out of that stuff.. but IHMO it's good for the music. The tracks I love most aren't any professional-productions released on a big label.. but some underground guys spending months, if not years to perfect that 7 minutes of music, not caring at all about any release schedules, labels or what price they can put for it on beatport.
  19. hmm.. not really an artist actually releasing stuff... but I can undestand why some don't give it for free. Free is for promo, but than I rather give it to any netlable for free, they for sure have more downloads than you sell CDs. If you sell the CDs the artists probably just want to get their share... as throwing out their tracks for free to get listeners, is way more effective online, they don't need you for that
  20. yeah, but the thread was about techno, not house (there are very few good house acts in germany, same as for techno in the us)
  21. For the "classic" electronic stuff like tech-house, techno & co this true here too. Was a hype some years ago, but since than it's declining - even hard to find a mainstream club that only plays this pure electronic stuff whole night on a specific day (yes there are 'electro'-clubs around, but I don't rate em mainstream as it's the same audience you can meet there on any event since years.. ) What's played a lot however is this electro-/pop-house stuff. Don't really know what's it name. Still electronic beats, but it's very close the MTV-like-pop. There are lyrics, tracks only last 3min, no spicy themes that cloud upset someone and low bpm. This kind of sounds seems to fit quite good for the Rihanna, Justin Bieber & co listeners.
  22. yeah.. know that kind of party.. and also hate it^^ really like it when they start at 135 and than it move to up 180 until sun come up and evrything breaks down but for me a party isn't only about music.. mean if the right people are there you can have your'r fun nevertheless. My tip: try smaller parties, even free entry stuff if there anything arround on your area. Think the reason why they only play one singe style of music, is to get house full.. sad but true most people stick to one and only one flavor of music. They don't like progg and dark or goa and hitech.. <select any combo> So they rather try to not annoy anyone and write "fullon party" onto the flyer and play the sane 10 tracks by different DJs in a loop.. > Same goes for the prog room or the "dark" room or the "hi tech" room.. Well if you are on a party with different floors.. try making your own story by simply chaning the room
  23. com'on.. i moved over from italy.. there nobody cares if you put your washing or a dish aeria onto the balcony, here it needs about 5min until the first one will show up to explain you where to find the "Hausordung" XD ok.. think the southern piece of germany is even more special on such kind of things..
