I don't know if this has been said here, but probably the best synth for a solid deep bass is Muon Tau2. With a little more practice and EQ you can get a perfect range of 303 sounds and plucky synth leads. And its hardly what you'd call an expensive synth z3ta offers some good plugins for basses and with some knowledge of what you are doing you can tweak those to make alot of other good bass patches. After that comes Sytrus, know what you are doing and how to use it and you can get good bass from that too. Infact, it already has a preset for a standard psy bass, you just need to know what you are doing (and play it at 2 octaves down)

Thank you (Firebloom was 90% my production) Upon hearing the mix I had an uneasy feeling...my track sounds too different and out of place...its its own story separate from the other tracks...you can tell because of the 3 themes firebloom goes through (it blooms from dark to light) Somewhat expiramental... I'm glad you enjoyed, I'm very uneasy since there are parts that weren't done well and its just something different and expiramental, I don't know how people would respond. To those insulting lost buddha's quality...just wait for Ataraxia That should be the biggest thing to hit goa since a long time. Nice accomplishment, but it sounds abit amateur, its not completely mindblowing. Here are some mistakes I notice: 1) Your bass has chorus and a phaser, this spreads the sound...there are different ways to make the bass fat without using these. Its incorrect to use these on bass or (I notice the kickdrum too) percussions because those should be in mono. If you still want to keep those effects in and make the signal mono, you can pan the FX channel entirely to the left, then send it to another FX channel and pan it 63% (your value may be different) to the right until it uses both left and right channels evenly, then set your synths on that FX. By keeping bass and percussions in mono, you center the sound and give the synths and other effects something to pan around. Centering theb ass and percussions give your other synths more room use for stereo separation. 3:25 - Did hallucinogen inspire this rythm change? 3:40 - Nice but some 16th hats and full percussions would make this build more effect since you have a breakdown shortly before this. Overall this track is well composed, what you can improve from most is developing a structure/formula that works best for you (or if you are serious about making psytrance...you have to copy someone else's formula ) This will make your composition flow better and be more interesting to listen if you can learn the slow art of buildup/build down structure formulas. 7:00 sounds great, but the incorrectly used bass stands out very sorely. Melodies are great but that highpass synth lacks "umph", it is your lead but you make it sound like a background. Your song and melodies are better than normal, but what you will benefit most from is spending more time on the build up and build down structure, being organized and having meaningul transitions (instead of random melodies that just work, this part is very hard), and better synth setups. Trust your ears, I am hearing the same thing that your ears hear and both of us know what is good and what isn't.

:lol: Maybe the name "Helicopter 20x6 (year2599 mix)" is more suitable? The imitation darkpsy bass you use sounds kind of alot like a hellicopter.

Thats actually really cool you think like that not cheesy at all. The recent music you've been making is really creative and innovative IMO...some seriously awesome sounds. Neuromancer...I listened to that and some other tracks on acid because the occasion cropped up... it was amazing. Neuromancer left me speechless, the part at the end...I don't even know how to describe how that surprised me...the stutters you made.

Regardless of what people are saying, a ram upgrade will make your computer faster in terms of load times and load capacity. If you have many different synths open it is incorrect that they don't use ram. I've gotten FL's memory usage up to 300MB before, the majority of which is plugins and FX that are loaded into the memory. If you are experiencing short freezes the problem is memory. Having more ram availible also seems to ease the CPU load. I've noticed this since myself and a friend have the same processor, but I have 512MB ram and he has 2GB. A song that uses 70% CPU for me uses only 40% for him. After RAM, a processor upgrade will make the most difference. If you get a newer 3ghz + processor your CPU usage will go down by half and that can help alot. Remember to also set the buffer length higher and that will reduce CPU load and clipping. FL will trade responsiveness time with processing time, the sound will not clip but FL will be slower to respond to your commands. Its not a big deal.

I blame your fruity FX plugins Its mainly the fruity parametric EQ...you'd be surprised how much of a difference missing .5 DB or 50hz can make. You'r getting better though, and remember its not like you'll ever get worse at doing something. Time always brings better things

nice direction and composition, but I hope you don't mind, I think the synths are very cheesed out, too much reverb and way too loud to make this an enjoyable listen. Track definately needs better mixing and cleaner. Becareful with Vanguard, it can turn out to be very cheesy if you overkill it with effects. IMO the synths were too hard to establish a mellow feeling that this track seems to lead on
