Yaaaaaay! I got approved by Psynews Dinosaurs! I feel so accepted.

The most psychedelic chillout act out there, that's not ethnic and still very fucking trippy, is Future Sound of London. Check out the following albums: Lifeforms, Dead Cities, ISDN (not necessarily in that order, but it helps). Also very psychedelic, but not necessarily chillout: Monolake. Sometimes more like minimal slow techno (although not Minimal in the usual sense at all!) but definitely electronic and definitely psychedelic. Look out for e.g. Cinemascope. Also, look out for The Orb (my usual recommendation along with FSOL) Personally I would find Solar Fields, Carbonbased Lifeforms and the like psychedelic. Very much so! Some more electronic chillout albums that I would say are quite psychedelic (just some random ones) Electrypnose - Subliminal Melancholies (a bit more sad, much more idm-ish, but a lot of really good stuff musicwise) VA - Left Coast Liquid vol. 1 (great selection of more idmbient like chillout tracks) Ooze - Where the Fields Never End (deep, moving, chilled out bliss) Pole - 3 (you've got to like this kind of music, it's minimal clickhopped dubby music, but imo also quite psychedelic!) Telefon Tel Aviv - Fahrenheit Fair Enough (not very chilled, but truly psychedelic in a beat-warping way of speaking... original stuff right there!) Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85-92 (master at work, not great productionwise, but this is pure gold, as far as I'm concerned) Higher Intelligence Agency - Freefloater (Kickass act from back in the day. You're gonna love it) VA - Bioluminescence (quite new compilation with a lof of more glitchy, idm-ish tracks. I like it a lot, and it's not ethinc at all. What more could you ask for? ) Boards of Canada - Music Has The Right To Children (MHTRTC) or Geogaddi (sad, melancholic, but also quite trippy and original, groundbreaking albums I'd say) Well, that's just a few albums off the top of my head. I have grown quite the disliking to anything ethnic in chillout, and really can't stand hearing it anymore either. I'm curious what you would think of my recommendations... keep us posted, and enjoy. Oh come on, that's just childish. I think it's cool for a 13 year old to join the fun. Feel welcome! (: -
Was that around the end of december roughly 2000 years ago?
-
I have heard it recently as well... like, really recently. Maybe it was the Mr. Rogers - Ooze System album? It's on the tip of my tongue or something.

Instead of copy-pasting (at work and lazy) have a look at some of the worst covers of all time here and here.

Astroschnautzer on Space Boogie records. Doesn't get much better than that, imo.

I like the Fluffer's cmt ...

All nice ones! Just wanted to add... Squarepusher (who doesn't want to push squares?) Bentley Rhythm Ace The Rip Off Artist (gotta love it - brilliant! wish I'd thought of it) Eat Static (pretty cool command, isn't it? Go eat static, you!) Stress Assassin (S's galore!) Ozric Tentacles D'Arcangelo (too funny) Duran Duran Duran (even funnier! ) [wow, way to dig up ancient threads, I thought there was a more recent one on great artist names... oh well.]

I always feel just a tiny bit disappointed that I see those discs for sale EVERYWHERE for like 5 or 6 euros each. There must've been such a lot of presses back in the day. Maybe I should just get two of each.
-
That's pretty cool! And maybe also a tad disappointing that he didn't know OOOD? Did you talk about him leaving Eat Static or wasn't there any time? And did he always drive a cab? Funny to know somehow, I'd always figured they could easily live off their music...

Good choice, Towelez. np Velvet Underground - Heroin -
Don't know if anyone's posted this already, but I saw it in Basilisk's list of quality psytrance, and really liked it.

Hmm... I'd really only be interested in Dreamfish, so if no one takes the lot, can I do a proposal of sorts? (:
-
Really? Never knew that... care to elaborate? (:

Koop - Koop Islands friend of mine recommended this, it sounds like movie music... loungey, jazzey, smokey bars, that kinda deal. But I like it! (: -
Really? I hate that sample.

I agree. Not much to add, this is a near-perfect compilation. Favorite of mine! : )
