  1. I agree, fuck iTunes. I just use winamp... works fine. Still, it sucks to have to change EQ every time for every single album, especially when there's plenty of times I can't even find one EQ setting that satisfies me. What about reggae? Dub? Or whatever... even with the supposedly 'right' settings it just doesn't sound right to me. But I'm sorry, this is not an iPod whining topic... I just came to say I wouldn't recommend it. Also: maybe it's different with different iPods? I gots me the 1G Nano oldschool one. 2nd gen, I believe.
  2. That doesn't make sense to me.
  3. That was one massive gig. Wonder if it's as good on cd as it was live.
  4. I have an iPod (which I won) and wouldn't recommend you buy one. I just H A T E the Equalizer on the thing, even on good headphones I never seem to be able to get the damn thing right. Damn that shit.
  5. Nois (: Didn't dig that Bombaman mix... the Liquid Stranger mix has some really fucking funky basses in it though. And the Excision mix also did its job. I was never too into Dubstep, until I heard it at a party on a good soundsystem (I think last Burning Man). And now I'm sitting at "home" with the basses all the way up, nodding my head like a fool... good stuff. :drama:
  6. Exactly what I thought.
  7. What he said. I was just about to post this, but the above words render my comment useless. Disregard what I said. Oh wait, don't do that, add a PLUS1 to Seraph's word. Also, hi Seraph.
  8. Ah yes, that was the first time I saw Infected. Bloody embarassing! I remember laughing and booing because I couldn't believe my ears, and there was this old English dude that caught my eye, and he told me 'if I wanted to see a good rock show, I'd go and see Metallica, but this is just bad!' And he was right. Bashing IM does get old, but why attempt to sing when you know you can't sing? And it appears that it's not even the right music for the wrong crowd ... I always felt like a minority disliking IM's liveact. Same can be said about 1200 Mics, which was probably the worst show I've ever seen, but the whole crowd (and I mean E V E R Y B O D Y ! ) loved it. Incredible.
  9. Personal favorites in no particular order: (just five, cause I wouldn't be able to think of ten really good ones, hehe) Scorb - Scorb Eat Static - Abduction Logic Bomb - Unlimited Hux Flux - Cryptic Crunch Infected Mushroom - Classical Mushroom
  10. Yes. But this festival being in Greece, a hammock might suffice.
  11. Actually, neither ... The "real deal" being wavs, and crappy mp3's being anything under 192k/s, these are as close to the real deal as it gets. 320 k/s !! And good music too!
  12. From their myspace: To receive a free copy of the Abakus EP please enter your details below to join the Abakus Mailing List Do it NOW! I really like it!
  13. Again. It's nice and dreamy and sweet and I like it!
  14. New ABAKUS EP !!!! :clapping: Oh yeah !!!
  15. I agree. The Orb haven't moved forwards, but instead it feels like they moved backwards... this album could've been made somewhere in the nineties and isn't that much worse for it either. Which is kind of a suprise, even to myself, because in most cases I would have hated it. Favorite tracks right now are actually the most poppy ones... never could've imagined that! Vuja De, A Beautiful Day and Mother Nature all have similar vocals (same singer?) but I still like them. High Noon is a good dubby oldschool Orb track, and Orbisonia is nice and spun out, reminiscent of U.F.Orb. Dirty Disco Dub I don't dig at all. And yes, that sample from The Truth Is... is the same on as on Blue Room. Track is still quite ok, I think. Anyway, there might be a few too many vocals in this album, and a little bit overusage of the same old samples, but I still dig this. It's nice and positive, and although not too in-depth, I feel it's quite an okay effort. It won't end up as one of my favorite Orb albums, but won't end up in my worst pile either.
  16. El Brujo is right. Although I REALLY CAN'T stand the search engine, cause I know for a fact that there have been several topics like this one before, with A LOT of good recommendations. Damn that shit.
  17. Unreleased Shpongle remixes could indeed be interesting. Listening to Brothomstates right now ...
  18. Know what? As I see this thread, I realize I dreamt about this album last night. I have the re-release (I think?!) and I dreamt that the original was twice as long, which I hadn't realized until then, and that there were ten extra tracks on that album that I didn't know of. Damn it. Damn it all to hell. Anyway, I find it really hard to recommend something in the vein of Children of the Bong. Don't think that Puff Dragon really fits the bill either. Maybe try Capsula? It's not totally similar, but you might still like it.
  19. Me too. And there I was thinking had no sense of humor (which they don't). j/k, don't get mad.
  20. You were here for two weeks and didn't decide to pay us a visit? Shame on you!
  21. Coming from the Neverlands ... flying from NYC to SF on the 20th of August, then renting a car in SF and driving to Burning Man probably on the 25th. Not sure exactly, but we're picking up the car on the 23rd if all goes well, so we'll have at least a whole day for shopping. Any essentials I shouldn't forget? What did you regret not bringing last year, SkeletonMan? We're probably not camping with a Theme Camp... what camp are you staying with?
  22. Anyone else going this year? :posford: As Skeleton Dude said: can't wait !!! Aaargh !! If all goes according to plan: look for a Bjorn Borg look alike and come and say high. I might even give you some water.
  23. My favorite Squarepusher track, pure awesomenesssssss to the bone Anstromm-Feck 4 YEAH YEAH YEAH !!
