Hey, I want to agree to those, faze & seraph!
-
^well, no, not really, cause you are selling the avatar re-release...

Great flowery shirt!

Yesterday's and today's track is ... Pink Floyd - Echoes
-
Nope. I download too much, and I have too many old albums that require extra listening. I don't have the time, and I like to have a certain order in what I'm listening to.

What music are you listening to right now?

The things that annoy you the most about parties nowadays!

Hell yeah. Some organisors just do a half-arsed chillout because they think it's something obligatory at a party... Which of course it is, but then please make it something special, and ffs, stop using the crappiest soundsystem available. (more of a personal annoyance, hehe). Chillouts don't need a loud system, but good sound can do wonders. I think I dj a lot better when I can actually hear nuances in my tracks. -
Ontopic: nice artwork too!

What the fuck. This album hadn't been reviewed until now? What a shame. This shit is the fucking shit. Really though, can't find anything uninteresting on this album. Every single track (but Aquarius, and even that is a sweet little piece of cuteness) gets me bouncing like mad. This is proper diehard psychedelic trance; crunchy, freaky, growly, bouncing and very psychedelic, if you ask me. Just brilliant.

That's one succulent review, but well, it's Damion so whaddayaxpect. I loved Scorb first album to death, one of my alltime favorites. Gonna check this out as soon as it's available someplace. And yeah, I'm not sure you should copypaste his review here... if he wanted to, he would've done it himself. But well, I don't get his emails anymore, so at least I'll keep up to date this way. Cool beans.

Indeed, since when are women a race? Oh wait, maybe they are too. That would explain everything and make this whole discussion redundant. Maybe it's simply a coincidence we can crossbreed. Jeez, God works in mysterious ways... I don't agree totally with Ormion, because the fact that there are less famous female artists doesn't necessarily have to do with them having less imagination or something. Maybe it's because women always had to clean the house and take care of the kids, while the men could roam freely?

Hahaha, you indeed misinterpreted what I meant, but I didn't put it very well. I mean that some of my friends- who are also lamed out by boring parties - are the ones that make an effort to organize original and new things. And I wish that other people who have been going to parties for years would evolve like that as well: i.e. instead of doing the same thing over and over, try something new and different. -
Sendspace doesn't allow me to download this... [e]Finally, here it is. Did you use analog synths for the crunchy sounds? It does sound like it, which is a good thing. The beats are really fucked up and I dig it. It makes me fidgetty, like the beats are just a little bit too fast for the track, it's kinda nervous-making. Well done. That's the feeling I get from this track in general by the way, I don't know how to describe it better than that, but it gets on my nerves, hehe. I agree that the production is a bit too 'bright' ... but besides that I like the track. Hard to define too, which means it's original. And not gay at all, I'm a bit disappointed.

Wow, this is releasable stuff right there. Great 'psychill' (sorry for that word), and I love the glitchy 8bit-ish sounds. Nice dubby beats, but the best thing about this is the combination of idm-ish breaks in between and the melodies. Very impressive. Don't know if I agree on the mix of adventure and tragedy, though. What are you going to do with this? This could fit right on a Native State VA or on one of the latest Aleph Zero compilations, I think. [e]Second listen. Damn, this is actually really good. I do get the idea that productionwise it could be somewhat clearer, i.e. it's a bit fuzzy and not crystal clear altogether, but that's just nitpicking. Very impressed indeed.

Hahaha, this topic is becoming something completely different. Ok, while we're at it: Aphex Twin please be added! -

The Orb - The Dream ... doesn't sound like the orb from the good ol' days anymore... but this is only the first listen. -

Yup, couldn't agree more. But I think it's really inevitable, I have a lot of friends with the same problems. I wish everybody evolved like that, but there's plenty of "old" party organisers that still organise parties as if they were 18 and everything were still new to them. By the way, I am very glad that fluoro is "out". That shit really started to get to me as well. Hahahaha, yeah probably.... NOT! -
Aaaaaaaaaaaah, so vinyl is like the oldschool version of mycel??

"Everyone's a DJ, the real heroes are the shitpit-diggers." (someone told me that was the motto of some Ozzie festival... I think it's brilliant and very spot on) But my biggest frustration is myself. I can't seem to just enjoy music anymore, I always hear bad mixes, cheesy tracks, lame buildups, notice bad soundsystems or bad setups, lame digital-fluoro-mandala decor, candy ravers. I'm getting a bit old, or something. I think the longer you go to parties, the more critical you become, especially if you dj as well... it's a curse, I tell ya. The drugtaking has been there since the beginning, and doesn't really bother me that much, but I admit I did get annoyed by all these E-tards for a while... but you get over it. Oh, and yeah, I think there's a lot of fakeness in the 'goa'-scene. People who think they're so PLUR and fucking hippie, but all they really care about is belonging to a group of people who wear the same fluo clothes as they do, take the same drugs and are all very openminded, but at monday they just go to their 9-5 jobs and fit in perfectly. Now, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but pretending to be higher and mightier than the next person really gets to me. Fuck the fuck off, you fake-ass hippie you!! Sorry for the swearing, I guess that's what bothers me most. Fake-ass hippies... Just be yourself, goddamnit. The only indoor parties that can get me interested these days, is where they do something different. Like bringing Ozrics and Eat Static to Paradiso, or having a cool location, or mixing different styles of music. The nextdoor full on laptop act won't get me out of my house anymore. Sad but true. God I sound cynical. Here's a smiley to counterbalance all that. -

I'm here too... Never really listened to Juno Reacter, but then again, I'm not a goa man... But Eat Static and FSOL = HELL YEAHS! And while I'm here anyway, couldn't we just add The Orb and Orbital to the topic title as well? -
Man, is Classical Mushroom a piece of psychedelic music or what? I love that shit... thanks to this thread I pulled it out again... it was the first psy cd I bought, ever, and it still totally kicks ass. It's so musical, different, mindwarpingly brilliant. I've seen IM live two times, in 2004 and 2005 and man did they suck balls. Really, I can't understand why people who go to psytrance festivals dig it. I wouldn't call it psychedelic, or trance, and nothing in between either. I mean, it can debated whether IM were ever psytrance, but at least they were good and original. Is it original, the stuff they release nowadays? Is it? I can't see it... Dude, if you want to see a rockshow go see Metallica or something. I would kill for an oldschool Infected Mushroom liveset..

Aphex Twin - Heliosphan, off Selected Ambient Works 85-92 Such a cute, moving track.

I can dig that completely. I have made up my mind to come and look up Evan Bluetech some time and tell him how much his music has helped me have brilliant trips. I used to play his first two albums a lot when tripping on (5-MeO-)DMT and I only have superpositive feelings when I listen to it. Very good stuff indeed.
