That made exactly as much sense in Dutch as it did in English.

Hehehe... I hadn't seen that episode in ages, and with a stroke of coincidence it was on telly last night. Funny stuff!
-
Yeah. And very visually descriptive as well; I mean, they fit the story perfectly. But I'm even more amazed about the melodies ... classic stuff! And I agree the melodic part is too short. I want more, damnit!

What music are you listening to right now?
Snapinho replied to Sputum Rotgut's topic in General Psytrance
Bit Meddler - Shitmix2000 I recommend everyone who likes 80's music to listen to this. -
Hehe... unless you're being sarcastic I disagree a bit. It's just that the term 'psychill' originated in the psytrance scene (afaik) and that it refers to a certain type of music, which is kind of hard to define. Because, all things considered, the downtempo that Electrypnose (who is a psytrance artist) made is much more related to IDM[bient] than to psychill ... But for me, I don't find it hard to classify one form of chillout as psychill and the other as something else. The more warm, ethnic, dubby kind of chillout (just check out the recommendations in this thread) would be seen as 'psychill' (at least by me) and other things as something else. Well... genres. For me it's just a way of reminding me of the direction the music goes (useful when dj-ing), it's not something fixed in concrete.

The thing is, what the topicstarter was looking for, is music that fits the term 'psychill' as elaborated by DaZeD. So well, if we start putting everything that's chill and psychedelic under 'psychill', that would become the all-inclusive term for all psychedelic downtempo music... It's just that I've really come to despise the term (because of all the ethnic shanti shanti bullcrap), but I do nevertheless agree with DaZeD's interpretation.
-
I didn't include the likes of the Orb, Aphex Twin and FSOL, simply because they don't fit under the "psychill" banner, even though they might be psychedelic and chill ... Otherwise I would've made different recommendations.

Best albums of all time? That's a bit hard to say now ... but some of my favorite psychillalbums include the following Bluetech - Elementary Particles / Prima Materia (I know it's actually two albums, but they're still teh major rocks!) Ooze - Where The Fields Never End Abakus - That Much Closer To The Sun Carbon Based Lifeforms - Hydroponic Garden Some of the best compilations, according to me: VA - Downbeat Liquid vol. 1 VA - Dissolving Clouds VA - Wider Horizons

I think that's pretty ok, to be honest.
-
I think I disagree with myself. Pharoah, Lo Ride Sloucher and Epoch Calypso have been in my head permanently lately. Great fucking tracks! And I just got an email from Amazon telling me the preorder is delayed AGAIN. Fuck that.
-
I also have the unofficial release, and I preordered two albums off of Amazon in the hope that it would get here before the festivals, but alas, tis been postponed again. But I think I have to agree that so far there's no extremely brilliant tracks to be found...

What a beautiful track!
-
Fuck. This is simply beautiful. What a great ride... intricate melodies, complex and (perhaps a little too often) changing rhythms, but filled with an indescribable atmosphere, which could just as well have been outer space as under the ocean. Goddamnit, this is exactly the stuff I like playing in chillouts. Very emotional and moving idmbient this is: pure class man. Imminent favorite! Are you planning on releasing this, and if so, where? And if not: is there any way I could purchase a .wav file off you? You definitely deserve something in return for this! Really, really nice job dude. [on repeat!] [e] Know what I just realized? From around 3:00 there's this tingly melody that reminds me a lot of a Scorb track, which - can't be a coincidence - is called The Aquarium. Very fitting. Dude, I'll say it again, most excellent track you created here!
-
Wow, really? After Bicycles & Tricycles I think it's their worst effort ... maybe I need to give it a relisten, but I remember really disliking it.
-
Hey, at least it's live!

So, why not move topics like these to the right section?

No clue, but I preordered it on Amazon.co.uk, and if all goes well, it will be shipped on the 4th of July.
-
Wow. For me it works the other way around. Can't take people/artists that take 'emselves too seriously. I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but for me Astroschnautzer is a fucking brilliant artistname. Wish I had it. Also, to release your record on Spaceboogie, as Astroschnautzer, is too funny for words, I think. Very nice sense of humor.

No DJ Snapinho?
