Looking for info on the debut albums from these artists
Trance2MoveU replied to Penzoline's topic in General Psytrance
So...an album by Liquid Flow is just around the corner, and Artha as well? Delicious! Mdk -
As a SA psytrance blind buyer, Artifakt was one artist that I couldn't get into. The music is too harsh and atonal for me. Also, I find it grating on the ears at times. Mdk

CELL [ Hanging Masses ]
Trance2MoveU replied to Drosophila's topic in Artist News and Labels announcements
This is great news. It will be interesting to see what direction his musical style goes with a release on Ultimae. I hope there will be a little goa influenced melodies. Mdk -
While tastes differ (you and I seem to have very similar musical likes) I have to disagree with you here. This is another deep gem that only gets better with repeated listens. Try it again in the late afternoon when you want to relax. If you still find it empty, no biggie. There is always other music! Mdk

I was listening to this while I took my infant son for a stroll. The weather was sunny and a nice breeze was blowing. The temperature was about 65F and I go into this music. This music inspires deep thought. It took me to a whole new level. Thank you E-mantra! Mdk

+100 One of the best released! That album is so deep... Mdk

I think it's funny that you said this: 0.00-ground shaking beat.you can feel the vibration of planet X. 1.25-amazing synth and 303.aliens secretly talking to the listener.patiently waiting for the speech! 1.48-this is psychedelic and substantial! 3.20-what a twist. Really simple and effective buildup! 6.40-amazing melody! Well,I don’t like much of this track. Mdk

The title says it all, but I wanted to create a thread expressing how impressed I am with this label's incredible production. In a time when CD sales are in the toilet and everything seems to find its way onto the net, these guys continue to release top notch material. As you know they started back in 2004 with Filteria's groundbreaking Sky Input and haven't looked back. I missed the goa revolution when it first came around so when "nu-school" goa made the scene I was eager to jump aboard. Of course credit should go to the artists primarily because it is their visionary music that transports the mind, but Suntrip has shown other labels how it should be done. The quality has been so consistent that they merit a blind buy from me every time. I would say that they are responsible in no small part for the huge amount of Goa being released today. Just look at what they released in 2009 alone: All of them superb (waiting for the E-mantra disc, but no doubt it will be stellar.) I hope that you will continue to release quality goa trance as I will be in line everytime with money to throw at you. BTW, I don't want to offend any of the other labels as it isn't my intention. As a pioneering label in the genre of goa trance, I believe that other labels have benefited from their lead. There has been so many awesome compilations with such great artists that I feel like the kid in a my signature. Thanks for all that. Mdk

Infected Mushroom - Legend Of The Black Shawarma
Trance2MoveU replied to Melancholyman's topic in 2009
Wow, this is...ummm. You know, I don't know what this is....but I kind of like it. IMO it seems that people hate IM because of their new or lack of direction, the guitars which are abrasive and unimaginative, and of course Dudev's singing. While I don't think this is groundbreaking or essential, you can tell that these guys still have talent, musically and production-wise. I appreciate that they are trying something new and trying to mix a whole bunch of genre's together, albeit with very mixed results. Bottom line, if you are looking for 4 on the floor psy with no singing or guitars then keep on walking. I would file this under something different, akin to a guilty pleasure. Mdk -
Not bad! I prefer Liquid Freedom to the first track. This is a good start. Congrats! Mdk
-
This album needs to get more notice as it is just fantastic. Smooth, crystal clear, and a wonderful listening experience! Mdk
-
What needs to happen here is that Shift and the Timecode crew should stage an intervention with Penta and set him on the right track. If your not going to do Dakpsy, but still want to keep your dark vibe, get a little South African in you. Mdk

Good luck to you in whatever you do. All I know is that you made some of the best goatrance I have ever heard. The Sita label seems to be crackling with great promise if the first release is any indication. One last thing, and if this is rude I apologize as it isn't my intention. Do you have any unreleased goa tracks that you would think about putting out as a release? Mdk

If I had to sum this up in two words...random; harsh. I don't really hear many melodies and it seems the compositions are all over the place. Also, it tends to be atonal, dissonant. Abasio was right when he said this was cold. I had to put on a jacket. There is no warmth here at all. This disc is not for me. But the cover kicks ass. Mdk

Wow, what a mish mash of styles. Middle Eastern, Tribal, Breakbeat... A very nice journey through worldly music. THis is a perfect album to chill to. Mdk

Awesome goa. Another home run for the "Trip!" Mdk

Ovnimoon- Geometric Poetry Iono Music August 2009 1. Ovnimoon- Sacred Earth (8:49) 2. Ovnimoon- Gathering Of Angels (8:51) 3. Ovnimoon- Close Your Eyes (7:50) 4. Ovnimoon- Kundalini Of The Andes (Open Your Mind) (8:38) 5. Ovnimoon- Vibration Of Peace (7:47) 6. Ovnimoon- Mystical Technology (7:53) 7. Ovnimoon- The Arrival Of Love (8:30) 8. Ovnimoon With Via Axis And ItomLab- Galactic Mantra (9:56) 9. Ovnimoon- 2 Guys Together (8:32) This is Hector Stuardo Marileo with his fourth studio album. Someone on this forum I believe coined the term "Psygressive" and I think this would be an accurate description of his music. The beats are heavy but the music soothes. I am not going to go through track by track as it is time consuming, but rather describe the music as a whole. Melodies dominate and there is a flow to this album that carries you right to the end. There are elements of progressive architecture as well as psytrance boldness. Rich, elaborate melodies are accompanied by perfectly placed effects that create a dreamlike atmosphere. There is no wasted space here. This is not cut and paste trance sequenced on repeat. Each track begins sparsely and evolves until it is dripping with thick layers. After listening to this album, I went back and thoroughly enjoyed his earlier work which was in the same vein. If nothing else, this artist is consistent, as the tracks fly by. If you like your progressive with aggressive undertones and psychedelic soundscapes, than this album is for you. To put it in perspective, I haven't heard such inspired and passionate compositions since the Freaked Frequency disc. Get it. Mdk

I found the Goa taste in New Horizon delicious and Silver Liners brought the goodness. Acid head for me though was one of the better tracks. Way better than average, but Laserflip is right, the other tracks could've been stronger. Like the God Save the Queen comp. Mdk

1. Brain Hunters- Solar Frequency 2. Brainwash- The Storm 3. Earworm- Extensive Damage 4. Ignition- Can You Feel It 5. Ex-Gen- Bankai 6. Speedball- Terror Step's 7. Sinful Reactions- Rythm Control 8. Delysid- Heart Beat V2 9. d.N.i.- Space Trip 10.Shri Yantra- Insane Mind Control (d.N.i. Edit) What do you know, another label based in Portugal. Must be something in the water over there that makes them pump out awesome music. This disc will continue the trend with Earworm leading the way. "Extensive Damage" twists and turns with its glorious acidic deliciousness. "Bankai" erupts from the depths with a generous helping of groove and lasers. The bass line in "Solar Frequency" rumbles as synths stab from on high. "The Storm" is so delightfully twisted. This is the definition of a consistent effort. I didn't find any weak tracks here, just good, driving psytrance. If you like acid, heavy kicks and a pile of groove, this will not disappoint. Recommended. Just look at the little guy in my signature. Mdk

VA- Twisted Insight Spectral Records July 2009 1. Outer Signal- Absolute Cut (7:24) 2. Rabdom L- Psykodeliak (7:42) 3. Menog vs. Absolum- Basic Survival Instinct (Menog Remix) (10:34) 4. EarWorm- Mad As A Hatter (7:49) 5. Khopat- Kobalt (7:29) 6. Azax Syndrom- Live Or Die (8:25) 7. Brain Hunters- Immortal Species (8:24) 8. Fiuzz & Hunters- Battle Sounds (7:40) 9. Ignition- Last Person (6:58) Hell yes, more night-psy!!! This was put out by Menog's label Spectral Records and their specialty is groovy, acid ridden psytrance. And let me tell you there are some real movers in here. Looking at the tracklist you might be able to guess who came with the weakest effort. If you said Azax Syndrom....ding ding, you guessed it! What happened to him? I'm sure I am not alone in wishing he would find his roots again. That aside, the Menog remix of he and Absolum's "Basic Survival Instinct" is over 10 and a half minutes long! And it's worth it. The angry bass line, the acidic washes...it all fits. The story of the track evolves giving a little more as it unwinds amidst great effects and samples. It didn't feel like over 10 minutes. Coming in 2nd is Earworm's "Mad As A Hatter." I'm serious when I say I haven't heard a bad track from him. Eerie synths, plenty of acid and awesome effects. I cannot wait for his album Honorable mention goes to Brain Hunters for their very strong synth work on "Immortal Species." This is a very take no prisoners track, that hits with the force of a truck. No question this is worth a listen. Night-psy is my favorite (right behind Goa) and this one delivers in spades. Get it. Artist: Various Title: Tzolkin Label: Tzolkin Productions Date: August 2009 1. Mithology- Delsyd & Brain Hunters 2. Wicked Syntony- Brain Hunters 3. Global Killer- Outer Signal 4. Funny Dark- Brave 5. Lucky One- Orca 6. Frame of Mind- Frozen Ghost 7. Tonight's Entertainment- Kode Six 8. El Ejercito de la Muerte- Shadow & TDR 9. Existence Problems- Speedball The fabulous track list prompted me to order this beast. Tzolkin is the oldest Mayan calendar with no beginning and no end according to wikipedia. This is the first release of the label and I hope the artists make it special. Nightpsy is the order of the day with some of my favorite artists represented. If you buy this CD you will be rewarded with some sinister melodic night music. Thumping bass drums and that molasses sticky acid clings to everything. It seems that every track has that rampaging bass line. A few notes: I was surprised by the relative weakness of the Outer Signal effort. Orca brings the high energy with night-time madness. Really ominous track. The lead in the Frozen Ghost track is really chaotic good! Kode Six (I reviewed their debut album here) bring a delightful break with a Batman sample in an otherwise noisy track. Speedball delivers an absolute blister of a track with Nicholas Cage sample lurking underneath in a monotone soliloquy. All in all this was a pretty good CD. If you like night-time psy don't hesitate to pick this one up. I didn't. Mdk
