  1. Not really but it had been a while since I went out and mingled with the insane people and so maybe that was what surprised me.
  2. That meme was funny until I spotted the ancient aliens dvd on the front shelf in a big box retail store and realized the number of mind numbing idiots who bought it just to see that guy. The implication being that lots of people still enjoy seeing others make asses of themselves so much so that it's mass produced for everyone's viewing pleasures. Then it stopped being funny.
  3. The Great Tracks Altair Return To The Source -> Best track on the album even though it seems like it may have been incomplete? Caprica Alpha Particles Deep Space 5D (Thai Remix) The Not So Great Tracks Zarkon Strange Phenomena Symphonic Switch -> Awkward chord progression in the main section This is not to say any track on here is bad. They are all well thought out. Some lack refinement and detail while others could easily have fit on Transdimensional or Second Phaze. The same general Dimension 5 sound is here. The leads, the kicks, the super bright snares, the bass lines. I can't see how anyone who likes Dimension 5 could be disappointed in this treat. Thanks suntrip and to whoever found the hidden vault full of these songs.
  4. Oh yea sorry no. Haha. I was listening to it on Ultimae's bandcamp page. http://ultimae.bandcamp.com/album/extended
  5. So I have been listening to this album a lot lately after a short visit to Shpongleland last week with Ineffable Mysteries and have been trying to figure out why I never took as much interest in it as the other Shpongle albums. This is by far the most wild, imaginative and intricate album Si and Raj have made. Nothing Lasts... sounds digital, glitchy, and yet vibrant with nature and full of geometric imagery. There is a somewhat desperate sound in the Nothing Lasts trio of songs but yet a calming nature to some of the later tracks like Connoisseur of Hallucinations. I think this album is very close to nature, moreso than other Shpongle albums, and inspired by cultures of the world that are close to nature as well. It's as if this album is like the soundtrack to movies like Baraka and Samsara. With that said there are a number of not so great songs on here like When Shall I Be Free - The Stamen of the Shamen and then the album kind of suffers some pacing issues with dull sections like Invocation and Exhalation sandwiched between already short songs lacking in composition. If Ineffable Mysteries is like a fantasy dream world, Nothing Lasts... is the real world in all its beauty, terrifying complexity, and the human expression trying to explain it all.
  6. I personally don't buy digital downloads any more. I had once bought Merr0w and Radical Distortion's albums through digital downloads but my hard drive died and now I would have to illegally download both albums somewhere to get them back. It's been plastic discs ever since then. God bless suntrip for continuing to release cd copies of their albums. Besides, have you seen some of the artwork in them? That's worth holding in your hands.
  7. Is this the name of the joint project between Mindsphere and Innerspace or is that Mindspace I'm thinking of? I'll buy 10 copies of that please.
  8. I am curious about what you mean by remastered. This is purely my own opinion but I feel of all the Filteria albums, Sky Input is the most balanced and well mixed.
  9. Oh each track easily has its own identity. In fact sometimes I feel like they don't even belong together on the album, but that's not really a problem when they are all so good. If I had one criticism of this album it's the mix which kind of lacks well designed soundforms. Spirits of Devotion is easily the best mix on here and not just because of the kick, but the whole package of leads blending well together.
  10. Still raises the hair on my back years later.
  11. Like around here? I don't mean to say every American is like that, just most of them, more than I'd like to believe exist. Of course I doubt it's just an American thing. The world in general is moving into uncharted territory that we humans cannot even begin to comprehend.
  12. Well I guess I will finally chime in on this thread seeing as how I am in the United States. People in America are dumb, I mean really dumb. They will not enjoy something unless they've been told to enjoy it. They are very empty people slowly going insane in a society driven by numbers and statistics, quotas and categories. Many lack simple basic humanity because we are a country owned and run by corporations and too many people are too ignorant to realize it. Worse are the people who realize it but are too apathetic or afraid to care. And so Americans are incredibly closed minded despite my belief that we are generally a socially liberal country. It's not just goa trance, it's anything that isn't safe, easy, consumable, and approved of by others. It's as if people are too afraid to take control of their own lives and strive to find a deeper meaning in anything. Sorry, I'm getting off topic. Please don't delete this thread!
  13. Definitely a very fresh style. I was actually thinking exactly what you are thinking Padmapani. It has energy, but it's not super groovy or anything.
  14. I've decided this album is vastly superior to Transdimensional. It's so much more involved, complex, cinematic and emotional. The production is miles ahead of its predecessor. It's really not even close, and I say that with the utmost respect for Transdimensional.
  15. MWNN is a great choice. Maybe try Solar Field's Earthshine for some proggy stuff.
  16. I heard that mix a few years ago during the summer solstice event. Good stuff. That is definitely the style that I fell in love with and will always be close to my heart. I feel like there can be a common middle ground between faster, aggressive full on with lots of energy, and the trancey stuff from back then. Mindsphere's album comes kind of close, but I think the idea is to slowly build and evolve the melodies which is not a very easy thing to do.
