That Old Sorcery sounds like Jim Kirkwood in some parts ... and with Jim I had the feeling that it sounded like old Edgar Froese or Klaus Schulze ... so, yes, I absolutely agree with you Magnetrixx is a master of progressive ... his first album Trittschall and also the second were very good and with Wired, he helped shape the sound of psytrance back then. Wired was a seriously good album, in my opinion. I heard that story about the "melting vinyls", but I did not know the DJ that it was attribued to was Sven Väth ... interesting. I do believe it ... if you leave them in searing heat in the sun, I can imagine it will get pretty hot and that can be enough to distort the fine etchings or make the disc a little wobbly... I'll spread the word about my "vinyl project" if I have any word to spread ... I think I'm gonna make it fully transparent and not profit-oriented, then I may be able to pull it off to fund it together with other people and not worry about money much. First I need to get the tracks though...

I just realized: there is no thread. Anybody listens to this? Dungeon Synth / Dungeon Music, as it was called back in the days ... primarily it may be stuff that fits to dungeon expeditions in your imagination, that's most likely where it got the name from ... but it's more than that, I'd say. To me it's storytelling music that dwells in those canyons and cracks between Psybient, old Ambient, Black Metal and Folk... I am loving it since years. I am "on board" since old Mortiis releases: This stuff is where my love for Dungeon Synth comes from (I know he did Fodt Til A Herske before that, which is bloody awesome, but I find this is even better). Since then, there's been a lot of changes ... Mortiis has switched to Trent Reznor NIN style stuff, which is brilliant, but has no place in this thread ... but other artists were discovered. I dived down into the abyss that was Cold Meat Industry ... or rather, what this label had to offer. It was mostly dark Ambient and some Industrioal / Noise ... I found several artists I appreciated ... but also a few gems, that crossed the bridge over that abyss, connecting me back into fantasy territory. Arcana, for example: It's still good to this day. And with Arcana, I found my love of stuff like that, with vocals, choirs ... and this gothic atmosphere. Funnily, for me this was fairly recently ... such as two or so years ago. What intrigues me, is the similarity that it can have to old "general" Synth music ... like Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze ... Jim Kirkwood for example, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference if somebody told me that this was some unreleased old Edgar Froese: Anyway, there's so much more. Secret Stairways, Hole Dweller, Sequestered Keep ... I have checking out many. This channel, the Dungeon Synth Archives ... they are pretty much my library for Dungeon Synth: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChmm356a5qe1luUsoatAgjA and it'll be years until I will be through, there is so much... It's interesting though how many possibilities this genre has. I may wanna colclude this post with 'some of the better Dungeon Music stuff that I know to this day' ... it's far away from the dark cellars and rather settled in a colorful medieval world: I think that last record can easily serve as a comedown for a bad trip maybe? Or if you ever have enough of all the Psychedelia... cheers

This stuff interests me aswell ... and yes, 100% agree on the similar vibe of early electronic artists. But luck left us - he pretty much vanished and I can't contact him anymore (and I mean, I really tried, contacted his company and whatnot ... I guess if I do any more I become a stalker and that wouldn't be good) ... anyway, I'll still stick to that idea, I want an EP If you dig Finntroll, let me know ... I had a pretty in-depth expedition into metal to find similar stuff, I love the humppa vibe. Nothing comes close to them though. I am from Vienna. The lower mountains are just an hour's drive away though (well, maybe make it two hours if you stay legal) ... mountains are awesome ... and I like Austria a lot, it's a beautiful country, but the minds of people tend to be a bit narrow - and sometimes also simple - around here, if I wanna be honest. It is not necessarily always bad though, there is a connection to nature and the "old ways" present that can be healthy and even comforting or heartwarming - and fortunately that is the case sometimes. Lagavulin 16 is my favourite, although I am rather enjoying the cheaper ones for monetary reasons - Laphroaig mostly. I'm also an Ardbeg fan, I used to smuggle that stuff in on Goa parties and also on Metal concerts ... the taste reminds me of good times But Bunnahabhain is good aswell. I have not had any bad Islay'er yet. Even the cheaper stuff from there is top (Finlaggan for example). A nice day to you too!

Nice ... I'm a big fan of Summoning. I think the only one I like more are Finntroll -- different style, I know... Just curious ... do you have a connection to Austria? Because the two labels you mentioned are from there aswell ... as are Summoning... I do like vinyl a lot, but I am not buying metal records ... if I ever start with that, there won't be no end ... I am now in a phase where I rather tend to reduce my stash and although I'll keep my vinyl, I try to buy less. Of that "viking tribal stuff" (that's what I call it, the Heilung / Wardruna corner) I can also strongly recommend Danheim, Heldom and Skald and also Munknörr ... and if you go further down that road, you will eventually reach the borderline territory where it blends into folk with for example Ochelie Soroki and also such as Hedningarna ... but if you are after industrial vibes, that is completely the other end of the spectrum as I would say -- I think these bands don't even use synth anymore at all. That was pretty much my distilled version of a month-long expedition into these realms ... only thing that's left is I could recommend you more poppy stuff, but tell me if you'd like that... ...speaking of distilling ... where have you been hiding, I know pretty much nobody on here who ever used the word "sherry bomb" in a single posting ... nevertheless, my heart belongs to the Islay drams, the smokier the better

Well, I think I have been driving enough (I mean IRL) to have a vague opinion about what music I would like to hear when racing... ...I'm just gonna make a straight shot. This one would feel nice I guess: ..."Space" atmosphere is in my opinion a great point to start, because in this field there are usually high velocities present, which go well with the feeling of "racing" ... but it really depends on what atmosphere you try to create with your game ... here is a rather psybient one: ... but maybe I am on the wrong train altogether ... do you wanna rather have a pixel-shaded wet track, riddled with particle effects created by the puddles of water or whatever substance that the contestants race through...? Then this might be an inspiration: But above all I confess: at my personal best I am when it comes to synthwave: If you manage to pull it off to combine psytrance with synthwave, I will be interested for the soundtrack alone. To me, the combination of styles is the future! In any way, I'd be glad if I can be of service. Just tell me more what stuff you like and what not - or what atmosphere you are aiming for.

From 2oo2... ...to 2o22. Wild ride, I gotta say. Any predicitons for the next x years? I am first. I predict (and hope for) more liquid dnb remixes of psytrance-ish tracks. Like this I's not been released in 2o22, it's 3 days early ... but boy. This blew me away. I thought psytrance'd be kinda 'clinically ill', never coming out of that hole anymore that it dug itself into with cheap indian samples paired with horrible break-ish (as in: lots of breaks) "myocarditis fullon"... ...but hey, I was very wrong! Some kind souls have come for our rescue and lead us into different territory, where the grass is still green, the sound still fresh, the swing still there and the air still clean. So clean! Who would have thought that I now play Banco De gaia on repeat again, only for it to be a remix of Framewerk ... damn these guys are good. There's more Obsidian remixes, by the way... Welcome to 2o22 ... the last year with a beautifully symmetric number that I will live in ... can't wait for "22.2.22" (the 22nd of Febuary...)

I admit, I am a little bit disappointed that you took the original down - because I admit, I had spent not a totally un-significant amount of real money into casually shilling it ... if you paid attention, it should be noted that the viewer count slowly but steadily creeped upwards... ...but thanks to another thread on here I congratulate you to your first album on Cronomi ... I am not gonna shill it though... I meanwhile do have a totally different approach into shilling a video though ... it is a fully organic approach ... and it involves a cryptocurrency and a brilliantly active community of good people around it ... not gonna say too much though, will save that for a bigger post ... I am serious about it though.

nice one this is exactly what I like ... first, I celebrate that there are no breaks other than gentle ones, where the progression is not chopped off, but gently lead on like long strokes of a paintbrush ... and then I like that there are these 303ish patterns, but underneath them there's this nice ambient synth "carpet melody" as I call it, which sorta grounds the whole thing and makes it a joy for me to listen to it, on and on ... in the latter part this gets lost a tiny bit, but it's still very fine ... like this recommendation a lot and I thank you for it

Hi ... um ... as a person who had Covid, I can tell you it's pretty nasty shit and I can understand China, that they have these strict rules, because China is crammed with people; if they get a serious spread there it's gonna be apocalypse... The restrictions hit me aswell because I want to go to China again for a bit of travelling, but at the moment they don't let any tourists in, I was told ... and even if they do, as you say there is 28 days quarantine - I can only take a few weeks off work, so that's not an option. I have heard though, once through the quarantine, you are a free person in China 28 days later and can do EVERYTHING there ... and that means much, I tell you, because here in Austria the ECUs are full and we are lockdowned again and well, even if some people do party illegally in private, I do not condone it and I absolutely don't go there, because as said, I know what Covid feels like to me and I really don't want to catch it again and we have enough cases here meanwhile absoutely everywhere As for that "cabal of tyrants" ... nah, I tell you, the only thing that is, is that some humans out there are gigantically stupid ... and while that is a problem, it also prevents such "big conspiracies" from happening, believe me, people are just too stupid for it to pull it off ... and even if you contradict me on that and say that these do exist, I am slowly leaning towards acceptance, because if people are clever enough to pull this off, in this world of immense stupidity and selfishness, they deserve it almost a little. Ahhhh I understand, they just quoted his "goodbye" message... ...I assume he knew little about how long he'll still be talked about that's unfortunate ... and yes it seems that this is the case... ...however, if it really way a justified and properly executed "Insolvenz" of the company, these artists and labels can pose as individual parties which Psyshop owes money and who also will get some, if the company is disbanded ... it won't be the full sum, but it should not be nothing either as there should be stocks left and stuff that was company property ... however, I could not find anything in the german directory of these defunct businesses, maybe somebody who's among the people whom Psyshop owes money has the position to inquire further?
