  1. I am very happy you are receiving a warm welcome in the world of record production and I think it is truly brave to venture into it, with the love of music you are showing, all will be well, I am sure. You have my support and look forward to owning this great pack for my collection too.. I am very curious to see the solutions you are finding for all your cool ideas
  2. Well here it comes, the newly produced digital album by the Buddhas. 1. The Cupboard - Easy Listening remix 07:50 2. Bodyhit - Light Cycle remix 09:05 3. We See 10:55 4. We Know 10:14 5. Time - Extendend above and beyond to the left of Infinity remix 17:48 6. Time - Ka-SoL remix 07:40 7. Bodyhit - Funky Dead Badger remix 08:59 8. True Hope - Comfy Slippers remix 09:38 1 The album starts off with a storming fast track, which i really like. The melodies are there swirling out and about while the kick has a very cool oldschool feeling, being kept in the basement, and not straight up there in your face bouncing roundly as it often happens in modern productions. The sampled voices are subtle but very enjoyable. A great opener this Cupboard Remix. Not sure why easy listening but maybe it is because it is not a very loud goa track (which is good). The track is clearly psytrance but with a huge retro feeling to it. And also ... what if there is no tomorrow? I agree let's enjoy today. 2 The second track has similar style to the opener and it takes you to a higher level of consciousness with its deep layered patterns and the haunting galloping rhythm. The female voice all of a sudden gives it a magic touch, love it. A killer remix, not much more to be said other than: enjoy it, I sure did. Deep stuff. 3 Track III continues in consistency and goes even deeper, the Buddhas are really making it worth listening, a very enjoyable track, and the ghastly effect going around in circles works perfectly. "We have to see, we have to know" I certainly agree. The samples are used wisely but that ghastly pang inducing effect really works much on me. Watch Out for the mega ending.. Certainly one of the best tracks of the album. 4 This track is in classic Buddhas style, reminding me of their early creations and is a bit slower than the others, at least it feels this way. It starts softly but builds up. The sample sound from the same movie or at least the same voice from the previous track but this time is a little boring, at least until you realize it shifts from "See" to "Know". The track gets much nicer after that and I like the melody in the middle going on in the background + the sampled trumpet part that can be heard subtly. The whole track somehow has a disco feeling to it, so I guess you need to consider it in its own, a mature production but not easily understandable, it needs to grow on you. 5 What do we have here? A Magnus opus remix of almost 18 minutes? That's really cool and not common at all. It starts as such a long track should, in a very minimalist way, just the kick and a few elements. There are swirling sounds slowly appearing and creating a path, there are bees around you and haunting voices, classix forest style and it makes me feel I am walking in the woods while listening to this track, as if i were going on and on, step after step. "Time wouldn't exist?" perhaps. But surprises aren't finished, in the middle something unexpected happens and the track changes style, I feel I am in an Arab or Indian country and the percussion used in this part is really spot on. I might even call it a Shpongle on forest moment, very interesting. You'd need balls to play this at a party but I think it might be a surprising experience for the unaware listeners. The track comes back to its original rhythm as a circle indeed, as our life and time. The track is very experimental but I loved it. Will generate mixed feelings for sure. 6 The Ka-Sol remix of Time is easier to approach, it has very good elements and that classic groove that Ka-Sol always has. This is a killer remix, it has all the elements of the previous track, a toned down version but that would work very well on the dancefloor. The track before this one is mystical and magnificent but I think I’d rather play this one in a set, to make it easier for the listeners. At home though, I'd skip it as it's indeed simpler, so you have 2 remixes on this album but very different one another, excellent choice. 7 Bodyhit (Remix) is a damn sweet track, I really like it! Bouncing, heavy, psychedelic, cool effects. It’s another favourite and has splendid production. I feel there are even owl’s sounds in the background, but maybe it’s just an imaginary sound… 8 The final remix, True Hope, is a mid-tempo track. It starts very atmospheric and continues like a very deep trip, perfect to close this storming album. I have to yet listen the original versions of these tracks but I am pretty pleased with my purchase, 80 minutes of forest mixed with goa vibes all blended together and ready to be played at home or parties, as you see fit. Please support the hard work of the band and get your own legit download here: http://battlebuddhas.bandcamp.com/ as I did
  3. woah thanks Fabien, your photos are killers too! and some shots I have never seen with me. @Richpa, trust me we ageeeed ahahahah , but man what a blast
  4. Yes I was supposed to make this post, but you are right, I forgot and anyway you wrote much more info! I'll post here the link to see my photos from this party ... Enjoy ! http://s103.photobucket.com/user/draeke/library/TWISTED?sort=3&page=1 I also met 303 and Sen0byte (from discogs) I think that both have an account on psynews too but not sure, one from Madrid the other from London, both collectors and great guys! Highlights of the night the mega swirling awesome real live Green Nuns set and the Hallucinogen set, those two blew away everything else, but Tristan had a cool outfit, I'll give that. I don't remember if Total Eclipse set was good, but he was there too. I think the Nuns ex two members never performed anywhere beside this unique event, am I wrong? Dick wasn't even there! The sole big disappointment of the party was that we were promised every set to be recorded in full and later released on the DVD, and If I remember well they probably filmed 15 minutes of the Nuns... that was disappointing, If I had known I would have filmed the set myself. But the party in itself, was awesome.
  5. Hello Taika-Tim, yes he has been making music in recent years, however he has not released much of that. I particularly like also his downtempo/ambient project. Will ask about Sacred Tree Portal @Psychannel, yes it is basically just a promo cd-r he burned in around 100 copies, so no wonder, in my book that was just a promo, and the tracks were never properly released and spread around. Now they will!
  6. Thanks for the video 94to97, that's a very early project by Olivier, the tracks on the album are a bit newer and sound more powerful and psychedelic, but he was indeed making music since the early days
  7. @SixZeroFou4 mastering is being finalized so the cd has not been pressed yet, hang on, i am doing my best to have it out for Xmas, but anything earlier it is now impossible, but i am pressuring so to have it out as soon as possible. Artwork is 100% finished and that's a good thing as sometimes that delays all too
  8. I am always flattered by your kind words!! Thanks So Much In any case, you are right the videos here sound nothing like the real deal, but I have shared them for some who really wanted to hear something from Virtuart from this release. Oh and the Orojuna track has never been released on CD from DAT source, the version published on the other limited cdr by mk-ultra is a vinyl rip with cracks and pops...
  9. Well thanks so much for all the nice vibes, I am positive you know at least a few of the tracks. The release was ridiculously limited but some track can be found on Youtube, with the old mastering. I think I should share two here: Mind you these are the old versions, not remastered, but can give an idea of the kind of goa to expect from this release To answer to technosomy, well he cooperated with other musicians for all the tracks of volume one, that is why "Virtuart & Friends" because each track was a co-production. On the volume, most of the tracks were cooperation but a few are his solo works.
  10. This is such an incredible upgrade to his style and technique, I am really impressed, it's like Crossing Mind^3 , very good production, clever ideas and mad skills. I am so happy the way things went with this artist and congrats with this new album !
  11. Manitu is active on facebook, if someone still searching for him and indeed, he is a good DJ.
  12. Hello everyone, it's with pleasure that I can finally announce the upcoming release of the Virtuart album. It has been a while since I discovered about the existence of a second part of the mythical and ridiculously limited Virtuart & Friends album. I have been chasing the original first volume for years until I've got a copy sometimes around 2002. I came in touch with Olivier sometimes around then and we have been speaking for long about releasing his wonderful psychedelic music. And now it's the time.... so with no further delays, let's announce this wonderful double album: Virtuart - Virtuart & Friends [2CD] CD1 1 Virtuart & Chronomyst - Vashisht 2 Virtuart & Franky - Wakatoom On The Road 3 Virtuart & Kshoo - Esprit Libre 4 Virtuart & Chronomyst - Sacred Drop 5 Virtuart & Nagar Bhatti - 2068 6 Virtuart & Kshoo - N2 O 7 Virtuart & Maël - Neverending Party 8 Virtuart & Manitù - Red Spirit CD2 1 Virtuart & Chronomyst - Prospector M 2 Virtuart - Light Lifter 3 Virtuart & Chronomyst - L'Karnaj 4 Virtuart & Manitù - Indian Summer 5 Virtuart & Nagar Bhatti - Svadeshi 6 Underhead - Orejuna 7 Virtuart - La Sorcière Des Sables & L'Homme Libre (Sandoz Mix) 8 Virtuart - L'Annee Des 13 Lunes (Galactic Time Mix) The tracklist of Virtuart & Friends 2 was changed a little because Zanchin and Madagascar have both been released, plus Olivier himself wanted to properly compile the second album (rightfully). There are a few more unreleased tracks by Virtuart that will see the light of the day later on. Furthermore I want to also stress out how the mixes on the first CD are the best he has done, as for each of the track, there were many takes and back when he was burning the copies of V&F and sending them around, he used different versions of them, so not all the copies out there have the same version of the tracks, but here and for the first time we gathered all the final and best versions of the tracks that were never properly pressed on a CD before. Mastering will be courtesy of Jaro @ Analog Dimension and Artwork by the amazing Miro Moric, who re-interpreted the original art that was made by Olivier in '98. Cheers!
  13. This one at home on my wireless connection, but it should be 10 times that the download... I can see Sweden has the best speeds so far followed by UK universities
  14. The second season is interesting however it becomes all like an hallucination, you have no clue at some point what is real and what is not (on purpose). However, they still have to explain a lot of things at the end of the second season (I have watched both entirely) and it is becoming boring to wait for the answer to a few key questions, but i suppose if they did tell you what was what the show would just end. It's a nice series overall and it has some real hacking things into it.
  15. well the tracks seems to have been all IDed now, good job
  16. I think Void Mantra would love to buy all albums in digital format only, but it's impossible to buy most of the released done from 1990-2000 as the digital version did not exist back then. I suppose what was advised about, i.e. to contact either Jaia or Daikini about it, could be a solution. I am pretty sure they might help with the files in exchange of a fee and you'll feel you have paid for the music properly
  17. So many legendary acts i could not see live but others that I could, luckily and guys, I have seen Doof perform in 2000, i feel *so* lucky because of that, so many years before we properly met and had a chat and so long before releasing his legendary album again. So for that i'll be forever grateful as it happened in London when he was still active. I can also share a bit of light on why he has not been answering anyone about bookings. As far as I could understand from his words (Nick I hope you'll excuse me if I cannot rephrase exactly what you said!): He lived that era with a true spirit, he loved it and experienced it to the maximum bur right now he is focusing on other things, and he is into a different style of music, the concept it's much deeper but i cannot really express it with the right words. I feel that maybe someday he might return to the source (again just my idea) but when we spoke about it, last year in ibiza, he told me he was flattered but that it was no more his vibe and wouldn't be true to himself performing. And since he loves to do things with a soul he cannot accept. And I think it's the best explanation ever and so honest. But back to the topic and speaking of acts I'd love to see: Chi-AD, as everyone of course, and that would be a dream come true. Green Nuns again as I have seen them live as a duo in 2006 at Twisted, tweaking their hits like crazy on a MS20 and a Moog, it was incredible really, so I would love to see that again! Asia 2001. I know Gilbert has been playing in Israel sometimes but I have not had the luck to be there, and I regret it, as it really was one of the pioneers Total Eclipse, well the best would be to experience a liveset in full formation and with synths but since I cannot turn back time also a new liveset could do Transwave. A great duo performance and possible a retro live set would be amazing. Miranda/Ominus. Classical vibes, lovely tunes and a must, so I want to experience a liveset of her, someday. Dimension 5. I have never seen them live and therefore would love to Power Source. It would be really amazing to see him live, possibly tweaking over synths and with a real keyboard. GangGuru. They guys made some killer tunes but well, they performed last in the 90s I believe. Toi Doi. Gilles is really a genious, I would love to see a liveset of his, I know some of you did, but again, was not there when happened. so many to list but that is the core
  18. I am having some chinese democracy moment as there are some last minute pssible changes on the tracklist of CD2, that is why the thread has not appeared (of V&F) however, the artwork is finished and it will be posted as soon as Olivier makes a final decision. Mastering is in progress as we wanted to alter it a bit to make it sound as good as possible with no compression (or very little) and no maximisation of frequencies in favour of a more relaxing listening experience. As soon as it's ready the thread will immediately appear. I know a lot of people want to know. In other news I went today to the vinyl pressing plant and they showed me the progresses, the artwork material has arrived and they will start pressing the vinyl very soon. I will visit again soon to chose colours. Bare with me and I will give updates ASAP.
  19. I think I would enjoy chatting more about martial arts and safe combat if we ever get to meet in the USA and good job in protecting your family and friends and only to defend youself seems to me to be the best way. Thanks for the nice words and keep it up, I'd be happy to see more videos as others would as well, I am sure
  20. Very cool! It's very nice to see someone training hard, congrats and I am sure your friends are happy when u go clubbing with them, no worries about any possible fight as clearly you'll win in all cases.
  21. Very interesting party and congratulations for the hard work, it looks like it was a great experience minus some details that can be fixed for next time.
  22. i will ask mauri
  23. I understand completely Joske but I think your friends should find a way to resolve the issue and talking about it in public may actually be worst than better, maybe he'll reschedule when all is OK? I know it has been a rough period of time for Elysium, but anyway, let's keep on talking about the amazing album that I am sure will be a great release when out I keep positive vibes always.
  24. I agree with Paul here, the bookings are not related to the album release which I hope will be finalized sometimes this or next year. I do believe Kristian to be a great musician and will support his music always, as it's between the best ever made in this genre.
  25. I am a backer to the campaign for the CD and the Tshirt, I sure hope it will come out at some point. Anyone heard anything?
