  1. Don't bother searching for good trance released after 2002, imo, it completely broke down from 99 till 2002. Still a few good released in that period. BUt System F - out of the blue was the last highlight of the era. I have the 6 first releases from platipus, for years i always said they were the best the scene had to offer but later on i discovered there is WAY better then this. Or myabe i jsut grew tired of platipus. The soundquality is pretty mediocre on the first releases, and platipus 5 is allready 99 i think. I'd say, if you really want to buy a CD that won't disappoint you, go fo the ealy Humate albums and state of house. I have all albums of those 2 artists and they are better then any platipus release imo. you want me to spam a list???? you name it!! i spam it!!! Got alot of hardtrance too you know. or hardcore??(early stuff, ravy happy euphoria ) or rave???
  2. Asia 2001 rereleased a best of compilation in 2005 named ASIA2001- amnesia. It shouldn't be too hard too find i think. Check out Ebay. Top CD, it's my fav. goa trance CD. Don't buy his old albums, they are alot more expensive nowadays, and the quality + composition is not as good as on amnesia. ASia2001 not only rereleased his music, but also rearranged the composition, deleted bad sounds and replaced them with new synths. I don't know if you ever heard of the art of trance - octopus and the man with no name remix. It's a simular difference. another good goatrance CD, i think released in 2001, is RA- to sirius, it's a personal project of a member from Dimension5. you poor soul.... here are a few tips:(here we go again, i think i've posted these 20 times the past 3 years) (these are not commercial trance artist, and their sound is more like goatrance then like +2000 trance) art of trance Cosmic baby Future sound of london Rabbit in the moon ( ) Humate paragliders Union Jack cactus State of house P.O.S terra ferma lost tribe (gamemaster really good track westbam ( Jam & spoon visions of shiva ( Paul van Dyk & Cosmic baby) Emmanuel Top Salt tank ascension dance 2 trance Banco de gaia Drax Tld. II Three Drives Solar Quest Chi A.D. ( oh a goatrance artist???? yes and no, i have 4 tracks of chi ad on trance labels, even some of his CD's are more trance then goa)
  3. If anybody is interested i found some Live mixtapes from mayday 1992 till 2006. Some mixes suck, some of them are classic. Gives you a good view of the evolution of electronic music in Europe imo. For those who don't know mayday, it is an indoor mass event of +40000 people in Berlin, and later on Dortmund i think. I listenend to about half of them and personally i prefer the 94 and 95 mixes. 92 is still too much acidhouse, which is pretty boring. BUt in 94 the euphoria and ravey acidfrenzy takes over. Good days. now listening to hardsequencer. genlog in 95 sounded pretty good too, too bad there was an annoying MC ruining trance... oh, here's the link :mayday mixes
  4. You're all a bunch of pussies. crying over songs.
  5. check out Milky tracker. These .xm files were used by trackers in the MS-DOS & amiga days. .Xm is something like a .mid file. It can save samples & sequences. Milkytracker is a port of probably, the most used tracker Fasttracker2 to all current OS. WinXp, mac, linux, even handheld OS( win CE), so you can carry it on the bus and make music :posford: . and milkytracker really has that Fast tracker2 feeling, still same layout, same options, but no driver conflicts etc etc. like you have when trying to run FT on WinXp.
  6. I might sound old, but.... They don't make music like that anymore. aaah, ze zweet 90z.... DRAX ltd - amphetamine
  7. I have hacked the matrix. Sometimes pienews is a bit slow, and sometimes i'm a bit impatient. that's a dangerous combination. I type my funny posts and then click reply......click reply again.....and again..... SLAMS KEYBOARD....AGAIN... sometimes pienews is reallllyyyy slow and i start clicking reply and back like a maniac. Then i get 4 posts..... while i was only typing one.
  8. lol? you never heard this track??? I didn't knew people like you still existed. other "overlooked" songs with great influence(IMO): Rabbit In The Moon aka T.confusius & monk ( ) FSOL - papua new guinea ( the aztex mystic 5DJ rolando) - knight of the jaguar youtube Humate - love simulation( dance 2 trance -We came in peace (1990!!!) couldn't find original but here is remix (youtube) etc etc i'm bored of searching....too bad i can't just post my CD collection, those names are a few of my babies. and youtube soundquality sucks. They deserve better. oh yeah, a REALLY overlooked but great artist is State of house. History just ingored them while their quality and songs are pretty good for 1993. discogs link No youtube video , such great music, nobody knows it.... it's weird....

  10. .
  11. overlooked? what are you talking about? THis tune was one of the first major trance hits that could be heard on every radio, TV, cassetteplayer etc etc in the 90's. I think i have the original twice, one single release and one on a compilation. ANd maybe 6-7 remixes on other CD's. and that's only in my CD collection. so..... overlooked?

  13. Rik, some troubles with your site, i registered 4 hours ago but didn't recieve a confirmationmail yet.
  14. no ASIA2001 no Dimension5 AStral projection is good but they don't deserve 7 places in top 20. hallucinogen, astral & infected dominate top 20. There are lots more great artists then these.
  15. meh, i will never buy MP3's. it's just a bunch of bites... It's like buying the holes in a peice of cheese. Doesn't make any sense. You can loose an mp3 very easily and a CD-R breaks faster than a CD. The problem with these kind of fuck up situations like chi-ad experienced is not the way it's sold. It's the general mentality of the people (in this scene and more general, the fucked world). no respect, hippie shit, I don't want these hippies to start up internet stores, no thanks, i can see where that's going, ever more fraud, it's even easier to sell downloaded MP3's in crappy quality.
  16. new track :clapping: aquanomaly - octopus listen-download
  17. nice, thanks for the free tracks. Too bad it's in pretty low kps. I heard your live set last weekend in sishu, when i saw the line up first time i thought: wtf? nolaxx, never heard of him. BUt i won't forget the neame now :clapping: keep up the good work.
  18. ASIA 2001 - vertige (goa gill burning man remix) This track can't get enough appreciation. I will never get tired of it but unfortunatly it's been a while since i last heard it at a party. While it was rereleased in 2005. If you don't know it, click & listen (saikosounds preview link) click at own risk, you might get obsessed and start worshipping it. It's hard to give one " all time fav" but this is definitely one of those song i will play when i'm 70 and feel like stretchin my legs on some good ol' psy.
  19. She loves old skool and hates dark psy. perfect match for me.
  20. I have 3 personal projects. music, painting and VJ/video,film at the start i never planned any succes with any of them, but to be honest, they all changed my life in a positive way. I used my paintings at alot of parties. I think between 100 and 150 times in 3 or 4 years. But in the end, i felt i reached a limit, every weekend completely exhausted, and alot of damaged, stolen paintings made me realise it wouldn't get any better anymore and it's best to fade away without stopping the other people in the team. to be honest, i never really liked the quality of my work, and i never will. I did 1 year of filmschool, but it sucked. old gear, too much creative gibberish, etc etc i really hated it, one of the worst periods of my life, alot of doubts and completely disorientated, i was expecting alot and i got bullshit. Around the same time i started making music, about 5 years ago. Then i started doing courses, some public and some private. avid Xpress, video, cubase, protools, photography, light for film, audio engineering, etc etc It costed a fortune, but was very specific and modern, for the last 4 years i only invested in those courses. I barely had any money left to do something else. The people i met during those months brought me to the current situation. The first people i worked with are my last teachers. But without the music i wouldn't have accomplished anything probably. at the moment i'm a sound technician, i'm working for one of the youngest but fastes growing TV producers of Belgium. My current boss started videohouse, one of europe's biggest sport&entertainment TV producers, but his brother now runs it after they broke cooperation. So 3 years ago he started Talent & vision. In the future, probably as big as videohouse but talent & vision is specialised in reality, documentaries and news. The irony is that because i started using fruityloops years ago, all the professional people i met during the courses immediately send me in the direction of audio. I had a small background, but that ment i could ask specific questions and learn really fast. While my interest goes far beyond audio but i could specialise really fast, so i took my shot. Yesterday i went live for 1 million people for the first time, and i remember thinking during the commercial break about the day i first opened fruityloops, and i probably wouldn't be standing there without it. well, if it wasn't fruityloops it would have been reason probably. In my free time i make music and sound FX for a few semiprofi film/documentarymakers that also became good friends. One of them used to be a teacher of me and now pays me monthly to make all music for his work. This kind of replaced the party decoration but i'm planning to renew the party decoration also and build a decent VJ studio, my days are completely packed, i work approx. 9 to 14 hours a day, nights, weekends, very flexible. and i spend approx. 5 hours a day on my personal projects, even when i have a break i start my laptop and make some 3D animations or music. After the summer i'm planning to start a 3D animation course and maybe in the future the BBC TV course.
  21. maybe you have corrupt VST software or a demoVST that blocks the sound... All Vst's work in fruity but in my experience, don't overuse them, and only install the most necessary.
  22. some tips: link all sounds to a Db meter and try to get close to 0. 0db to -4db is good sound. 0db to -10db is acceptable. +0db is bad. mastering at -6db is perfect imo. you can use compressors and equalisers to adjust your sound. equalisers adjust the frequencies of the sound. this is the big puzzle, you sound needs a good audio temperature and fit together. In my experience it's best to listen and try different EQ's for good temperature while monitoring your DB meters. Compressors limit the dynamic range of your audio signal. This is important for the master level, if you have a multiband compressor on the master you can adjust loudness without creating overmodulation.
  23. you have 2 daddies? cool! that's so new school!

  25. I've been using fruityloops for 5 years and Cubase SX for 2 years. Cubase pwns fruity bigtime in every aspect. It's workflow is just as easy as fruity is you are used to it, it even is more accurate, better for fine tuning and has got a better sound engine. Cubase has endless options and after 10 years i probably will still be discovering new stuff i didn't know of. Fruity is good for electronic music but cubase can do anything. I haven't find any option in fruity that is better then cubase, and i've been working with it for 5 years. I loved fruity and always protected it as the holy underdog until i finally started using cubase in a serious way. The major flaw in fruity is the CPU usage and lack of real time display. Fruity drains my memory and the CPU starts flipping, I hear all weird noises i shouldn't hear. In cubase i can edit and hear exactly what the song will be like after render. In all graphics or music production software real time has got to be the core element of the software. Complexity or simpel user interface are no arguments to decide if it's good software or not. You'll just have to learn how to use it.
