  1. man, this stuff is so cult, NHYO, you are my fav underdog artist. keep em coming.
  2. That's damn good! I want to hear more. I've been waiting for years for a psy & breakbeat (or IDM) mixed genre. This one is going on a CD, right into my stereo. keep em coming! You want to lsiten to some of my experiments? I'm trying to do the same thing. It's more IDM then psy though. And all of them are unfinished tracks. link 1 link 2
  3. I made an example with a vocoder. 1 lame voice sample 1 VST 1 vocoder FX 2 delay FX 1 compressor FX 1 flanger FX that's all I needed. done in 1min 30 sec. vocoder example EDIT: here's a link of a clip where I turn off the vocoder so you can hear clearly what it's doing with the VST and sound file. vocoder example 2
  4. Ever tried a vocoder? You can do amazing things with it. It's basically an FX that links a sounds file to a VST. So you can take a static voice and make it "sing" the sound and notes of the VST. Or you can experiment with it to get crazy FX.
  5. etnica - triptonite (fractal glider rmx)
  6. Vibe tribe - Melodrama
  7. I listened to the track. I'm a big IDM fan, i make alot myself. I make background music for DVD menu's & shortfilms of friends. Back in school they always saw me playin around with fruityloops but they didn't like my psy, so one guy forced me to do some IDM by offering some money and after a few months I became their personal jukebox and till this day I often make some music for them. but, honestly, i wasn't pleased with what i heard, i'm not talking about the mastering though, it all sounds relatively good except the lack of bass sounds. It's a chilled song so I think bass should be all over it, as deep as possible. But see that's as just a tip. Anyway, I couldn't listen to the entire song without falling asleep. no, offence, but i can understand people talking constructive to each other on a forum. I wouldn't be saying it this way if the artist of this song was on psynews... It was nothing compared to your track. I liked your track alot more, also not perfect but a really good start. You're like the opposite of me. Always talking to people how good your work is. I always complain to people how bad i think my music is. I'm never satisfied. how do you do it man...
  8. just of th record, psytrance mastering and IDM mastering is a completely different thing. IDM can sound really good without mastering cause it's a genre without any rules, psytrance and goatrance only sound "right" when you follow certain mastering rules. Actually psytrance, maybe even every trance subgenre, is one of the most difficult genres to master.
  9. true suomi isn't anything near smooth dark trance actually. It can have dark, goa or even full on elements but most typical is the crazy composition. Best example is Mandalavandalz.
  10. the recent past showed us that if you want alot of comments you're thread should be named: "Freq style track" or maybe i'm even better anyway, nice song, i like the beat beat beat vocal sample

  12. Goddamn Radi, you gotta stay off those pills. anyway, You seem to be a real pro So please tell me and my fellow minions how to master like a pro cause I don't know shit about mastering and i would like to learn a bit. Some tips for a professional mastering? no man it's not agression, it's entertainement.
  13. lollers, i was drinking a nice beer when reading this and now my keyboard and screen are all wet. I bursted in laughter.
  14. So this should sound like "Mr. Godford"? well, i'll say a few words and then run away ... The percussion stays almost the same the whole song. It really brakes down the entire song. percussion can add alot in a song. Melodies are important but it's the percussion & breaks that build the drive in a song. I like the acid sounds and melodies, but there is not enough diversity in it. It feels like the same patterns are repeated over & over again the entire song. The quality and choice of your VST sounds however is very good but you should work more on the structure of the song. But this is the first song i hear from you and i never expected it to be this "good" so keep up the good work. hey Radi, you wanna listen to some tracks i made now and tell me how bad they are? clicky clicky
  15. Is your weenie so small it can fit into the hole of a CD?
  16. well, you have a point there, but i'm in the middle. Can't know for sure. We could say peer to peer isn't destroying psytrance at all and is just functioning as a modern radio and free promotion. Buying MP3's on the net however is a great alternative to boxed CD's. Off course if it's cheaper, faster and doesn't come from russian sites. And the only cost the label has is the server. I think it would be very successfull in this scene where most of the CD's are sold online.
  17. It's a big risk for a label to release a CD. How much does it cost for 1000 copies to get released these days? 6000-7000 €? In such a small scene, with so much other labels, and with low sale rates (mp3?) labels are forced to attract names that will sell. After a few successfull CD's they can start thinking about taking a leap into the unknown and release an album by a new artist. Yes, label care for the money, cause they don't wat to go bankrupt after the first release. But i think most labels are happy when they can reach a break even. I know in the movie industry producers are aiming at the people who don't download, but have the money to watch and buy movies often. After a big investigation they concuded it were 12-16 year old kid's, can't download from daddy's computer and mommy buys the DVD's as a present, whole family goes to cinema often. CGI Animation studio's & movies are popping up like mushrooms and 3 year old studios are allready making more profit then Disney did in their entire history. wanna be filthy rich? Start an animation studio. You can't go wrong if it's on a professional level. maybe psy labels are doing the same, without knowing it, skazi killarg-h full on could be the most successfull because it has the lowest download rates compared to sale rates. Probably in general, kiddo's that need idols to look up to buy the most CD's. Actually i would love to read a simular investigation on psy releases-downloads. I always wondered if the movie download is simular to music download.
  18. What a heated topic for a joke the same people who used to post anti skazi threads almost every day are now the electronic knights of moral and defending diversity of musical taste. make a joke about goa trance any day and i'll laugh with it. it's a joke people and this is psynews now laugh or be banned
  19. mixing 5.1 in crazy man!! I had to edit a promotional DVD for a musical and they wanted it in 5.1. I said it wouldn't be any problem but GODDAMN, i hate mixing 5.1. I even had to download an illegal copy of AVID and install it over my current legal copy because it didn't support 5.1 yet, while it was only 1 year old. Otherwise i had to edit the video and audio in different applications. I probably would not have survived that. I had lots of problems. It is very complicated if you have about 400 audio tracks and you have to send them to 5 speakers while you can't test it properly cause my speakers were too close to my computers. Some sounds had to be dynamic and travel from front left to back right. A small mistake makes a huge difference. Imagine an actor walking into the crowd from front left to back right and his footstep going from right to back left.
