  1. oh no, this is sad. Psytrance is mine, it defines my coolness. Now that ministry is on psy and adverts on TV, my coolness dropped again to the level of regular minions. Time to get me something new...
  2. Yeah, i wouldn't like it either if someone knew my real name. Everybody calls me Daniel, WTF? I should have taken a more abstract nickname.
  3. can't wait either! probably it will sound modern, i don't think he's going to use old synths in 2008. The main reason why electronic music changes so quickly is because the technology behind it progresses at the same rate. But the music he makes with his hallucinogen alter ego needs to be simular to his old music, otherwise he'll have troubles doing a proper live act. 2 styles under 1 alter ego doesn't make any sense, that would be a worst case senario imo, cause he will have to split up his live acts into old style and new style. It's better to have 1 liveset with classics and new stuff that blends into each other perfectly, otherwise alot of people will be pissed off they payed an expensive ticket for a party without hearing any stuff from twisted or TLD. Whatever he does, i'm confident it will be interesting, it's not easy to connect to a typical 90's sound to today's sound. Let's hope he remixes his old tunes to modern soundquality too, he'll need it for a decent live act. Shakta has proven it is possible, i saw him live last september and he restyled his music, not into a different genre, but just modern soundquality. It was without a doubt one of the best livesets i have ever heard in my life. Posford is a very influential artist within this scene, where godford goes, others will follow. Maybe i need to reconcider the things i posted in the thread about psytrance in 5 years! I'm always hoping for a goatrance revival but i'm very pessimistic, there are alot of great newskool artists but none of them has the capability to become classic and break through to a bigger audience, today's goatrance is loved, made and bought by people from within this small subgenre. That's a situation that stagnates very easy. If Posford jumps on the train again, it will start moving alot faster, and other new goatrance artists will gain from it cause their genre is exposed to a bigger audience.
  4. I think he will stay loyal to the hallucinogen style. If he wants to do something new & original he would use another name, not hallucinogen.
  5. i have searched, and found: goa disks atuil12 is best one, click index and scroll down to SND for FT2 disks
  6. That looks suspicious indeed. I'm hoping she is real, and an ever greater plot will be revealed... Thomas Vitali = PSYNINA (after a sexchange)
  7. Anybody knows some good websites with Fasttracker project files for download? I heard from a friend who used FT since the early 90's that there are alot of classics that were never released, but had a glorious life within the community. He gave me a CD with milkytracker and a bunch of XM files and .... . i want MORE! MORE I TELL YOU! He even recommended me early Tiesto XM files(before he was a trance popstar sucker), those tracks were never released and i hope they still are somewhere on a website. Normally i would ignore someone who recommends me tiesto, but after hearing the XM files in fasttracker i really feel interested! I like this kind of open source creative communities, some of the tracks i heard are even better than anything that was considered commercial those days. pleeeeeeeeeeeease, show me the goodies. there is alot too explore! I explored goatrance, then trance, and feel like i've discovered all the best stuff. I'm always looking for that ultimate track that balances on the edge of trance/goa, produced in 94-98 SOme of my friends always accuse me i'm stuck in the 90's. Maybe i'm a conservative bitch when it comes to music, but i don't need to progress just because the trance genre progressed. fuck that, i have the right to like what i want. There is alot left to explore! And it just isn't fun to go to psyshop, search for 2 sec, and click "buy", that's too easy for me, i want to hunt my music down! Like a slow predator needs time to catch a antiloop. It makes the catch much better if it's a hidden secret. I've known about FT for years but i never looked into it seriously, early encounters with XM files were mostly a dissapointment. But now all area's on the trance map are explored, except this FT island. Time to set sail for the FT island captain!
  8. you confuse me... i thought 9 was X files.... Nova zembla was just a guess. but "people can fly, anything can happen" is Fox Mulder. not? you shocked my world...all those years....all those years i believed in a LIE!! A LIE!!!!
  9. these albums are the best CD's i have with dreamtrance Rave mission - the dream edition rave mission - the dream edition 2 after rave mission 5 it starts to go down, RM 6- ?? sucks. If you want the good stuff of dreamtrance, you'll have to buy EP's.
  10. most good stuff allready posted, so i'll just add some goodies: intrance - skytrip (track) state of house - unkown raver (album) state of house - pacific dance (album) formic acid (kai tracid) (artist) cosmic baby the commitment - X Transformation - Transform Drax Ltd. - L.S.G - Hidden Sun Of Venus Blue Alphabet - Quixotism (bonzai) Jones & stephenson - (bonzai) van basten - king of the deathposture (sounds bit like paragliders -paraglide) state of house is certainly in my top 5 all time fav's, way better than anything platipus ever released, sound quality ahead of it's time and perfect mix of genres, but trance is always the main influence. (pacific dream youtube link bad song though, unknown raver is WAY better!!!) Demonic Emotions - Stuck On A Spacetrip = best acidtrance track ever!
  11. well, there has been alot of speculation. The location was also used by alot of big organisations (non psy) that have alot of sponsors and lawyers. THe firefighters of Antwerp were never happy that it was used for such big parties. (some +5000) And then kairoo wanted to throw a party there , and the politicians saw an easy victim (without sponsors and lawyers) to settle it once and for all. close this party = send a message to bigger orginasations this location is permanetly closed. The politician that pushed the mayor to organise the raid was an ex-district commander in antwerp. Now he's part of the right nationalists. He hates everything that smells left winged. He beated up his wife, got sewed, insulted immigrants as a cop, got sewed again. He's seriously fucked up! Funny thing to mention is: a month earlier the same cops and politicians tolerated a neo-nazi party (blood & honour) near antwerp. I geuss it's the contradiction of goa. We want to break with everything commercial, do it our way, but don't realise we're easy victims then. Maybe a party like this in a city centre just needs big multinationals like coca cola just for protection. Goa peeps don't tolerate any form of commercialising and controle. Police doesn't tolerate any party this big, completely disconnected from the commercial stuff, without any controle on it. and they are both right! That's about it. IMO
  12. Yes, first springtime days are perfect for some good goatrance. I always find myself listening to more goa when the sun appears after the cold winter. I make better music during the summer too. All my best tracks were made between march and october.
  13. You are one funny bastard.. :D

  14. noted. I tried to find a sample on the net but couldn't find any. But i trust your musictaste enough to know this will be awesome, so i'll buy it the moment i find it. I saw it was released on bonzai!! you recommending me bonzai stuff? i have a recommendation for you too: youtube sample edit: my bad! wrong song, i've been looking for 2 hours for the correct version. here's the one and only (BooOOOooonzaaaaiiii tatata taaaaaa) Thunderball -bonzai channel one everybody used too laugh with this track when it was released. BUt now it's an icon. You scream "BONZAI" at any party in belgium, any genre, and everybody will do TATATA TAAAA. I'm certain about that.

  17. by real criminals i mean people selling copied CD's and making money with it. They are out there too you know!! And the evolution of the last 10 years made it much more difficult to determine who is a real criminal! I have read articles about kids that had to pay thousands of euro's because of mp3's. THat's BS!! THat's a waste of time, and while that time is wasted, real pirates are harder to track and more active then ever. You never saw those goofy russian sites selling mp3's??? With a system like i suggested, there would be no reason to bully kids, cause it would be clear who is a threat to copyright and who isn't. ok, but there is always the danger, some day, some goofy multimillionaire gets the idea in his head to force a law or something and log all th IP's of the users and starts lawsuits everywhere he finds an mp3. It is very unlikely, but there is a possibilty that one day, the music industry will do some crazy stuff. Not everybody will experience this, but it allready happened that a 9 year old had to pay an insane amount of money because he downloaded some mp3's. YOU could be next!!! People who claim they are downloaders & buyers will be secured from this, and they should embrace a system like this cause nothing will change for them, they only gain from it. They will move out of the "illegal piracy" that surround them now. So if you use this system, you can download mp3's, smoke a spliff and you won't get paranoid the feds are going to bust into your house.
  18. I found it! I found the solution to piracy! Note this day, cause it will go into history, once again, i secured my place in the history books! well, here it is: Labels should set up a peer-to-peer system that only allows the artist to choose in which quality the mp3 is spread, and the only way you can subscribe to the network is by buying CD's or mp3's. When the app is first opened it will ask for a code. Every new CD in stores, or mp3 bought on the net, gives you a code which adds download points you can use in the network. People who download AND buy will be secured cause they are pretty fair and support the artists. Nothing will change for them. The more CD's you buy, the more you can download! This rewarding system will even encourage musiclovers to buy more CD's! But people who ONLY download cannot use this system, and because this system is legal, without spam or viruses, it would be a HUGE succes and other peer-to-peer networks would all die because of the overwhelming succes and secure, reliable, fast service. People who buy, but don't download, will try the new system because the CD's they bought is advertising it. They will discover new music which will lead to more sales!!! which leads to more income, better studio's, better quality, EVERYBODY HAPPY!! YEAH! The real criminals can be seperated from the musiclovers and this will result in better reactions from the anti piracy agencies. You see!!! things could be so beautifull & simple! It's a win-win situation. I will send this idea to some major labels, i hope they will call it the DICK network (Daniel Is Cool Karma)
  19. I can allready see the future of psytrance...
  20. very difficult question. As far as i can remember, i listened alot of electronic music like westbam & dune in the early 90's. But i didn't consider myself to be deep in to electronic music back then. Back in those days trance & rave was top 50 material on the radio, so i enjoyed them, but no more or less than i enjoyed other genres. If there is one track that made me an electronic music lover it's probably underworld - born slippy. I checked my CD collection and this is one of the oldest songs that is still in it. I had alot of other CD's but they all vanished. Like i said, i didn't consider myself a die hard electronic music lover, but that changed when i started to go out. I witnessed the death of the rave era (my first party was a candy rave reunion, told my parent i would visit a friend and go to a concert ) Afterwards i went to techno parties (Dj Rush & Marco Remus kind of stuff), sometimes a Drum & bass party. But when Clearchannel took over the belgian techno parties with their exclusivity contracts and tried to build a monoply all those parties dissapeard and were replaced by moneymaking popparties. It still feels the techno core in Belgium was hijacked over night by some greedy americans. Those who bowed to clearchannel survived, those who refused dissapeared. We had sooooo many great parties & festivals. Then i discovered the less commercial goascene with it's "do it yourself" attitude. House Torhout, Techno nation, seat (axion) beack rock, all destroyed by Clearchannel . It's sad.... beh, thinking about the past makes me sad today. THANKS ALOT, whoever started this thread
