    Va - 303 Syndroms

Artist: Various Title: 303 Syndrom Label: Mamomam Records Date: 10/10/2018 1. Hypnoxock - Heaven Can't Wait 2. Clementz - Medistajon 3. Median Project -Â Space Monkeys 4. Goad - Entranced 5. Jaraluca - The Ektoplazm 6. Omneon -Â Power of the Ori 7. Artha - Hall-Lux 8. Proxeeus - Suydam 9. Toxeed - Milky Way (Bonus Track) What a month for music. We've been blessed and cursed with a great set of October releases. Blessed because they all rock. Cursed because we must not only buy them all, but find the time to listen to this sweet sweet music coming our way. But I'm on holiday, so I have time and will I use it constructively? Learn a new skill, read a book, write a resume so I can apply for a job? That would be great, but you know whats better than all that? You do, I know you do, 9 Blistering tracks compiled by Mr Jaraluca. If that's not enough to stir up the hornet's nest within then just take a second look at that artwork. Still not cracking a woody? Surely that line up is all you need. Heaven Can't Wait - It can't, or maybe it can. I mean I thought I couldn't wait when i saw Hypnoxock opening this comp, but here I am. Wait I did and boy am i glad about that. An ominous intro leads quickly into a melody and some vocals then woah holy heck this becomes a great track. I still think that most tracks from Eurythmia are better than his singles but that probably has more to do with it being a masterpiece than anything. Still a good track. Medistajon - No autocorrect there, we aren't trying to spell meditation. Clementz is here with fat kicks and melodies that take you higher and higher. Balancing between light and dark for the duration of a track ain't always easy, but you wouldn't know it here. Space monkeys - Whether that's a kookaburra or a monkey really isn't important here. Median has done the usual and come in hot. That explosion after the breakbeat is incredible. This track takes you and Cappuccino the Capuchin directly through nebulas. Entranced - Goad takes us into cosmic space land which really is the most wonderful place to get Entranced. But with under 8 minutes and no real climax I feel like I just got dropped off at the edge of space and left there. The Ektoplazm - Jaraluca picks up where he left off with his last album. Only he got a little wilder, a lil more cray with the same Jaraluca full flavored spice. Very nice track. Power of the Ori - A nice spacetime banger that really take off at the 5 minute point. Man I love that moment. Raw leads and acid take center stage as Omneon marches us into battle with the full power of the Ori behind us. Hall-Lux - Did he just? Is this song the? How did he? ARTHA IS BAAAACK!! What ever he has been up to its well worth the wait. I'm saying my favourite track of the year so far. Clean screeching leads, melodies and perfect direction changes. A little bit of classic Artha dancing around a modern new sound Artha. Every element of this track is done to absolute perfection. I can only say nice pretty things. Suydam - After his track on the Va - Lotus, I really can't do anything to contain my excitement by seeing his name on a lineup. I don't need a reminder why but if I did this track would be it. While I'd probably dislocate my shoulder trying to keep up with this. Milky way (bonus track) - Do you like digital album bonus tracks? As some one who only buys digital it never really feels like a bonus track, feels more like, a track. But I'm not complaining. Another track! The comps not over! And boy am I happy about that. Toxeed comes in fast and hard with some great story telling and really cool melodies. Now I have to go and listen to his older works, I've been turnt. I'd absolutely lose my marbles if I heard this on a dancefloor. More bonus tracks! What a goshdang goddang ride. There are so many good tracks on this compilation that every time I think I have a favourite another comes along and steals my attention. While 604 Syndroms felt more dance floor friendly and spacious, 303’s is mostly space fuelled and a great homage to the instrument that made this genre what it is. I'm hoping more people purchase this to encourage more Goa comps from Mamomam. Well done to all the artists, Jaraluca and Mamomam records on what will probably be the 1st or 2nd best comp of the year. https://mamomamrecords.bandcamp.com/album/va-303-syndroms

    Psychowave - Chronicles Ep

Artist: Psychowave Title: Chronicles ep Label: Spacedock Records Date: July 27, 2018 1. Elephants In Pocitos 2. Fight Like A Woman 3. Life Waves Psychowave has produced two tracks which have found their way into my favourite list. His ear for melody and production technique is a treat and sends me into euphoria every time I listen. The new ep comes complete with some pretty artwork done by Natan himself and 3 tracks containing plenty of funk. Elephants In Pocitos - Not as many elephant sounds as I was expecting but still a well produced song thats got a fat baseline and trip atmospheres abound. Fight Like A Woman - Yea declare a never ending battle that you can escape from at any moment but subject your enemy to at any moment at your discretion. Yea that’ll do it. Great trippy song with good development and huge drums pounding away. Life Waves - A quick lesson on waves and a great collection of melodies intertwined with one another. My favourite of the three but just by a hair. This aint no Sunshine Reborn, but a less melodic more psychedelic trippier blast into happy land. Well done to SpaceDock for their continued support of a great artist, who has managed to avoid the norm of the Brazilian psytrance scene and produce Goa blasters. The title of the album suggests more eps to come in the same vein, I'm looking forward to those insta-buys. https://spacedockrecords.bandcamp.com/album/sddg014-psychowave-chronicles-ep

VA - Shambhala [Global Sect Music]

Title: Shambhala Label: Global Sect Music Date: October 2018 Format : CD and Digital Tracklist: 1. Fiery Dawn - Magic Mirror 07:31 2. Skarma - Cianendeon ( Median Project Remix ) 08:53 3. Goasia - Hidden Waves 06:46 4. Median Project - Heaven and Earth (Omneon rmx) 08:10 5. Zopmanika - Namaskara Mantra II 08:58 6. Сentavra Project - Shambhala 09:18 7. Median Project - Scarab 07:26 8. Mindsphere - Floating in a Widescreen 12:11 9. Astrancer - Neighbor 10:14 DJ Adept's latest offering from Russia. Here we GO! For those who follow Global Sect music, you know what to expect. And they deliver more than that. Shambala is the bulls eye shot of Goa anno 2018. Opener is a down to mid-tempo track by Fiery Dawn. It has a nice groove, but I find it out of place on a compilation that is otherwise filled with space fuel. But ok, it gets you in the mood slowly. And then we're off for a goa rollercoaster without any disappointing tracks. Really, they are all fantastic! Median Project is back with a stunning remix of Skarma to crack the goa case open. Sweet melodies! Goasia in full force with a rolling bassline without pauses. Omneon takes on a remix of Median Project. Heaven and Earth gets a more acidic and raw facelift. Dance muttha's! I took an aromatic bath while listening to Zopmanika's belter Namaskara Mantra II. Good lord, kamasutra, India, spiritual lifting, and all that! It does it so well. Then we're off to space with Centavra's title track Shambhala. What great mixing in this track. Wonderful goa. Up and down we modulate. This disc is unstoppable, man. Median Project slams with his very own Scarab. This man only produces quality tracks nowadays. Scorching acid and goa synths flowing around from left to right. Amazing. And then, Mindsphere! Mindsphere treats us with a 12min(!) long goa odyssey. The lengths fits the quality. It's so good. A pleasure for the ears. His arpeggio's are back, and they are hot! And look who's back? Astrancer! Astrancer blesses us with the last track. He takes down the energy from the cd a notch, so we can all have a smooth comeback to earth in style. Great melodic easy listener. Conclusion: Don't hesitate to get this one! From start to finish this is what modern Goa is all about. Talented artists with a wealth of inspiration and skills. Goa lives!! 5. Hi all, Perhaps this question has been asked a while ago, but I can't find it. I'm interested in a statistic of you guys/girls frequenting goa parties. Here in Belgium there are parties every weekend (it seems), but I go to 1-2 parties per year (I'm 42 btw)? I have to say that the more I go, the more I love goa and its scene. The vibe is so great at parties. So I do intend to go more and more. I'm still a newbie. :-) How often do you go? You like small parties or big festivals? Can you describe the atmosphere? A.
  6. Progressive Anarchists

Progressive Anarchists - La Laguna Negra

Just finished. Musical influence: Juno Reactor, Ozric Tentacles, California Sunshine This is a free soundcloud release yet but maybe we will increase and remaster a few of our most recent songs to release an EP because our album release was more than one year ago now.
  7. Artist: Fiery Dawn Title: Trip To The UnderWorld Label: Self Release Date: September 8, 2018 3 more tracks and you coulda had an album. No matter. Fiery dawn is at a sweet spot in his production. Not only is his output just ridiculous, with a 2018 album, another Ep, tracks on various comps, a bunch of down tempo while maintaining what I can only assume is some semblance of a life. I have a life too, it revolves around listening to banger after banger of Fiery D and others output. This ep takes a couple of tippie toes away from the space trance that Dawn is well known for. Trip To The Underworld is the most unique. Coming at you without a distinct melody you know you'll need something else to keep your attention. Fiery know's too, he doesn't fail and has me hooked from that wonderful intro all the way to the end. It certainly is a track that'll take you to the underworld. Next up we got Phantasmagoria. Acid riffs, hard kicks, a squelch or two and a solid baseline are here to carry us away to trance land. Other than a few key changes (which are starting to irk me) the track is absolutely wonderful and full of funk. Even on bandcamp I missed the change between this and the next track. The flow is unreal. But we aren't off the hook yet. Goblins and Trolls comes in even hotter and crazier. Fiery D has either expanded his sound box or developed his repertoire, or both. Either way he is putting it to good use here. The track gets real wild just after the 3 minute mark and it doesn't let up. My favourite here. A straight arm flailing stomper. Temple of Warriors Is a nice little downtempo closer that Fiery D does so well. The Ep is awesome, with a unique first track and two flaming tracks following it up I would recommend getting this on your hard drives. transfer it to your phones, mp3's, listen on the band camp app, what ever you want. I'll be bumping this for a while as I feel like you can hear a strong development in his production and ideas. Good work I do need to ask what the idea behind key changes are? Can I get some artistic input. My position is it disrupts many a good moment in a track making it feel like an unnatural direction change. That being said I get over it pretty quickly and do understand that some notes need a different key to work. But I do know that I've never listened to a track and thought 'This needs to change key right about now'. Grumblings of a guy on a forum. https://fierydawn.bandcamp.com/album/trip-to-underworld
  8. Artist: Ufomatka Title: Off The Beaten Track Of The Universe Label: Cronomi Records Date: June 29, 2018 1. Transition To Hyperspace 2. The City Of Acid Trips 3. Sliders 4. Space Chronicles 5. USS Enterprise 6. Nebula 7. Drifting Across The Universe 8. Voyager-1 (Leaving The Solar System) This is the first album from Ufomatka aka Alexandr Yemelyanov from Ukraine. I am not familiar with his EP's or his tracks from compilations, so I had no idea what to expect with this album. The sound here can be described as cybernetic/dark psytrance, similar to artists like UX, Cydonia, Portamento, MFG Genesis era, etc. 1. Transition To Hyperspace: Starts off with a nice memorable bassline, slowly and methodically building upto 2:26, where the song starts taking off. I really like the second half of the song from 4:31 where the layers keep piling up till the outro. 2. The City Of Acid Trips: City? Song title feels out of place compared to the rest of the album. Anyway, we get a nice goa melody in the intro, then around 1:00 the song takes off, no slow building this time. I love the rapid, fast paced sounds here: the percussion, the synths, make it seem like the song is about to erupt. There are a lot of different psychedelic sound effects and subtle melodies on top of a steady rhythm. At 5:22, the song changes up and introduces a melody which could be considered the climax. This song is more aggressive than the previous one. 3. Sliders: I love the electric intro here, probably my favorite on the album. We get a simple, growly lead at 1:58, with other layers and melodies complementing it nicely. At 3:32, the simplistic growly lead takes a backseat, but I find it overstayed it's welcome. At 5:30, the song recovers itself when the climactic melody of the song appears, and then a few complementary melodies. 4. Space Chronicles: This song is similar to the previous one in that there is a simple, repetitive, techno-ish rhythm that overstays its welcome, but the layers and melodies keep it very interesting. I love the progression in this one, and it's subtleness, especially the cool background synth from 3:25-3:38. The climactic melody at 5:36 is fantastic as well. Overall, this song is packed with tons of ideas. 5. USS Enterprise: This one is a midtempo, journey-esque, laidback song, and it is perfection. There really isn't a climax in this song, but things are constantly changing, shifting, evolving with layers coming in and out gently. My favorite track on the album, and the longest song so far (but felt the shortest). 6. Nebula: Another midtempo song, similar to the previous one. Very atmospheric intro, but then it kinda becomes generic goa trance. Things get interesting and less generic at 4:35, and it fully redeems itself in the second half. I like the electric melody at 7:18, reminds me of UX. I felt like this song didn't need to be this long, he could have easily trimmed the first 4 mins. 7. Drifting Across The Universe: Intro really does make it seem like you're drifting. I love the creativity in this one, especially the synth from 2:25-3:18 and 6:16-6:45 which feel funky and free-styli. The dark, gravy boiling sounds at 4:50 reminds me of something from Growly Family GMS. Another great mid-tempo song. 8. Voyager-1 (Leaving The Solar System): A sample about Voyager, and an uplifting intro. Not a fan personally of the first 3 mins. But the song recovers quickly after that. The rest of the song has so much class, so much swagger, and you just don't hear this kind of style and fashion in Goa trance often. Does this guy play saxophone in his spare time? I thoroughly enjoyed this album from start to finish. The production is great, and I've always preferred this style of cybernetic goa trance over the traditional style. I also like how few samples are present in this album, they are quiet and non intrusive. The one complaint I have about this album is the lack of variation: similar to MFG's Project Genesis, the album really likes to repeat synths for extended periods of time, which is I guess what the artist wanted based on the promo "His musical flow follows the tradition of the avant garde and psychedelic trance/techno movement". Now I need to listen to his EP's. 4.5/5 https://cronomi.bandcamp.com/album/ufomatka-off-the-beaten-track-of-the-universe

  10. Label: Timewarp Records Date: August 2018 Format: Digital 1. JaraLuca - Evolving Forces 07:27 2. Fiery Dawn - Alien Planet 08:08 3. Clementz - Seduced By Stars 09:41 4. InnerZone & NervaSystem - Ribos (InnerZone Remix) 09:24 5. Mania - Ingenious Neomorph 09:25 6. Proxeeus - Cthulhu Lives 10:44 7. MeloDeep - Spirit Of The God 09:19 8. Clementz - Ae Re Stu 06:03 9. Atlantis - Crystal Sphere 09:40 10. Spectrum, Ion Vader - Freedom or Death 08:04 Timewarps latest goa compilation, including a DJ Mix. Let's gooooo!!! Jaraluca: What an opener of this fine compilation. Jaraluca presents a goa monster with a deep bassline and fantastic synth lines. Gradually the track intensifies as the synths go crazy. The synths carry the track. It is so cleverly made. Real climactic goa trance with a hypnotic feel to it. Love it! Boy, would I love to hear it at a party. Jos? Fiery Dawn: Fiery Dawn's contribution is a slow starter and a rather linear track. Although it gets a bit more interesting after the 6 min mark, it's not a (big) climax. It's an easier track to rest a bit. I was hoping for some surprises, but I'm left hungry. Clementz: Hints of acid hypnotically injecting your brain. This sounds good! Gradually the track goes into melodic style while keeping the acid lines in the background. Quite a relaxing and pleasant morning track here, but when played out loud could cause some damage in the final run where everything comes together. Nervasystem: Shit, this is a demonous track. Slowly it grabs you, hypnotizes you. There are pads, acid blips, whatever you want. But they're connected in such a way that a hypnotizing track is made. One hypnotizing section after another. Not sure why the voice is talking about some molecule called ribos instead of ecstacy. Ha! Wonderful blistering finale where synths meet pads meet acid! Mania: Shit, why does this have to sound like it's 1996? I mean, the ingredients are there. Spiralling synths, a rolling bassline... But the kick is so dry and pale. There is not enough thickness in the track for me to really enjoy it. Guess that's the oldschool vs newschool thingie. I miss the deeeeep bass. Not bad, but not my style. Proxeeus: Yes, fucking yes. We have reached the 10 min long holy grail of this compilation. Ladies and chaps, Proxeeus is here! Where on his 2 albums he mainly explores (successfully) 303 sounds, this track has it all. Dancefloor madness it is. Right from the first second I am immersed in overwhelming sounds. Then the bassline crushes my skull. The goa train has left the station! Lots of laser sounds and lovable melodic synths is what this track is all about. The personality of this track is immense. It's like Proxeeus had a vision, a thought, and melted it into music. Only the truly blessed can do this. Oh yes, and there is acid 303 madness too. Lots of them. Jos! Play this shit at OiG XXII. Omg I die. Melodeep: A sweet oriental-influenced goa number surrounded by acid. Makes me think of Antares or Ra 9th Style. Very sweet on the ears and definitely on repeat here. Lots of details in the background if you listen carefully. The melody comes into play at certain points in the track and give it a very personal feel. I catch myself humming it after a while. Likey! Clementz: Clementz hits hard with this track from the start. Hardly no intro, just cuts right to the chase. Fantastic goa synths are all over the place, carried by deep basswork. I would go nuts on the dancefloor! Aqueous sounds and acid blips push the track forward into the next mayhem. Yep, dance material here. Ace! Atlantis: I'm gonna admit it right away. I'm in love with this track. It doesn't go crazy with loud chaotic sounds. No, it exists and intrigues purely because of its hypnotising ability. The bassline is very addictive and always present. My head is nodding up and down because of it. The bassline is surrounded by acid and bubbles and this for more than 9 minutes. It's an unstoppable bulldozer. Grooovy! Spectrum, Ion Vader: A pussy would end an uptempo compilation with a downtempo track. But DJ Lurfilur is not a pussy. No sir. Another uptempo goa track to finish the album. Perhaps it is the madness of the former tracks that leaves me unimpressed with this last track. Very instrumental, sterile and linear. Not strong, but good for winding down from what we've heard before. DJ MIX A a bonus, we get a DJ Mix by DJ Lurfilur, who mixes all these tracks together for a good hour of non stop goa madness. And a well crafted mix it has become. Congrats man! Conclusion: A must have compilation. Timewarp is sometimes hit and miss, but this is a hit. And DJ Lurfilur has proven to be a connoisseur of compiling goa albums. Hail! Buy links: Bandcamp Beatport Psyshop
  11. https://www.mixcloud.com/Psyt3k/psytek-lost-in-summer-time-2018-goa/ This is the set I played at the Lost in Summer Time 2018 festival in Belgium. I played from 9AM - 11AM after Charris who played an incredible raw and abstract early Psytrance / Forest set. I wanted to bring a selection of tracks that are both abstract and melodic, with both morning melodies and edgy psychedelic parts. Most tracks are oldskool '90s, but I also included a lot of newer tracks. Some unreleased stuff too. The Lepton Head Remix by Adrenalin Run (M-Run + Steve-O) is one of my favorite tracks ever. Enjoy!! Feedback welcome!

    Jayex - Soul Echoes

Artist: Jayex Album: Soul Echoes Label: Surface Tension Records Release date: July 29, 2018 1.Intro 2. Tribal Shot 3. Hypnotized 4. Spiral Attack 5. Trancedance Mission 6. Soul Echoes 7. No Matter How 8. Switch On The Night 9. Cybrain Worms 10. Beyond Psychedelic Breaks and goa. Is there anything better? Is there? The innocence of childhood? New love? Friendship? All inclusive cruise ships through the Caribbean? Nope to heck with it all. I got what I need right here. So who is jayex? I haven't heard the name, a little digging got me a killer track on 'art from the heart chapter 2' great album BTW. Heřman Hasík is Jayex's real name, if it sounds like it's a name from the dark forests of the Bouzov Micro-region of the Czech Republic to you that is because you have an eye for the truth. Other alias is Smoke Visions. This albums boasts breakbeat goa and psychedelia. Does it deliver? Oh yea, but let's get to that now. Intro: Straight electricity entering the airwaves. Jayex let's us have a very little taste of what's to come. As always it could be longer but does the trick anyway. Tribal Shot: a hot track that gets better and better the deeper in you go. Vocals sit delicately on top of baselines and synths. At 135bpm I'd be happy to play this in a trance or techno set. Although the goa is distinct. Hypnotized: Jayex slows it down another notch with a heavy psychedelic number. Every aspect is super groovy and comes in and out at just the right time. The little offbeat\breakbeat part at the end of each break is really cool too. Love it. Spiral Attack: Sweet sweet intro, better than honey in my morning tea. And then BOOM! Didn't see that coming. At first wasn't a fan. But weird kicks always take me a little time to get used to. Sure enough by the time we reach the main break I'm well adjusted. 4 listens in I love it. Trancedance Mission: In it now with the Goa, or is it Proto? I Don't know I'm 25, which is still old enough to call something good, which this track certainly is. I normally don't go crazy for key changes but here it's not so bad. The song constantly changes direction and intensity with expert fashion, another great track. Soul Echoes: What does the title track have to offer us? How does a slow build into a climax of breakbeat sound to you? Sounds sort of good to me. A shorter track than the others, and honestly I was expecting something to happen after the breakbeat. You can't let the little things bring you down though, still a decent track. No Matter How: Some ocean sounds and spooky synths open the track up for us. Followed by another unexpected track. I thought the bass could have been jacked up a bunch in this track, instead it feels like something other than a track that belongs on this album. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy it, but you know, context. Switch On The Night: Another techno'y track which is easy to stomp your feet too. The baseline is super freaky and soon has you lost in it. fairly minimal but what he Jayex uses he uses well. The outro is neat too. Cybrain Worms: The track title is actually pretty apt, this song is the closest representation I can find to cybrain worms. The breakbeat with that heavy baseline and the chanting in the background is just too hot. One of my favourite tracks. Beyond: Time to close the album and what better way to do it than a full Goa trance track. The baseline is funky, the synths are sweet and the overall vibe is just great. On a few extra listens this track and the intro seem to fit together well. Another favourite of mine. Overall I like the album a lot. The ingredients that Jayex uses to create each track he uses just the right amount of, a little paprika here, a little oregano there. The Breakbeat Goa combination is really hot and the slower tracks are anything but boring. I honestly look forward to hearing more from Jayex and think that this album is a blast. I thought the production of tracks 2 and 3 stood out as particularly good. Here is a link. Oh and you can pay as you please. https://surf10rec.bandcamp.com/album/soul-echoes
