  1. Artist: Lunar Dawn Title: The Purge Label: Neogoa Records Date: July 31, 2022 Tracklist:- 1. Being Into The Trance 2. Divisive 3. Loose Me 4. Self Aligned 5. Liquefactive Neurosis 6. My Faith 7. Volatile 8. Being In A Trance 9. Out Of This Place Well Well Well. That didn't take long and I'm not surprised. Of course Neogoa came back, they had Lunar Dawn to release. It's essential and necessary and sometimes that means that you put your life aside for a moment for a higher purpose. . . Filthy Goa Trance The musical styling of this release was a surprise. The cover gives it away but still, when I think Lunar Dawn I think tribal Eastern European melodies n rhythms'. Well not no more, this sounds like the creation of hanging Lunar Dawn in a cage with UX over the volcanic pit of our past and our future for 3 years. That changes a man. As always, if you want people to keep making this music for our sweet little minds then giving them money for their work is a pretty good incentive. https://neogoarecords.bandcamp.com/album/the-purge
  2. Artist: Veasna Title: Energy Label: Neogoa Date: July, 2016 1. Pulsar (143 BPM) 2. You Have Rights (144 BPM) 3. Rubix (145 BPM) 4. Hex (147 BPM) 5. Godspeed (145 BPM) 6. Showdown! (145 BPM) 7. Three (147 BPM) 8. Termination Shock (147 BPM) 9. Ultraviolet (142 BPM) 10. The Essence of Energy (90 BPM) Dis guy? Ohhhhh.....Patrick Dinklage. Got my GOT dander up for nothing. I'm reading the fourth book right now so don't f*ck anything up for me. The Neogoa team keeps the assembly line humming with their latest free release. C'mon pay up you cheap bastards it's worth it. Quantum Connundrum from the Celestial Transvibrations album was the only thing he's released I believe and that was a pretty damn good track so hopes are high. As I await my order to arrive, I make good use of the provided download that comes with purchase. This is an album of tunes that he's made over the past three years. And like has been said it has a massive sound right out of the gate with the magnificent Pulsar and the 303 wielding Hex and Three. While Galactic Aviator was more bombastic there is more variety in sound to be found here. He doesn't forget the dance parts either as Godspeed had me hopping a bit. Ultraviolet is a very intelligent track that has groove, layers, and bouncy melodies. He ends the show with a mellow come-down track. Overall a very solid album that I am glad I purchased. P.S. There are a lot of great comments about this album, but man...why not put it in the review thread where more people might see it? And the artist and label would most assuredly appreciate it. 3. Hello, people of Goa. It is an honor to me to write this review of Proxeeus' debut album, entitled At the Mountains of Madness. It is an honor, because this release has a special meaning. First of all, it is released on July the 14th, which is the French National Day, comemorating the Storming of the Bastille. And it is no coincidence that NeoGoa has chosen this very day to spot a fair light on the Proxeeus project, which proudly represents France in the Goa scene. It is also an honor, because this very day is also the 5th birthday of the NeoGoa adventure. Introducing a new artist to celebrate this time of the year is definitely a great way to spread the Goa flag. Hence it is a good opportunity to recall that NeoGoa has been a brilliant label all over the years, constant in quality and innovation, and that had definitely left its print in this scene. I shall also add, as a personnal remark, that the very first full-lenghth Goa release that I ever listened to was Dimensional Gateway vol. III, and that from this day this label has been for me a criterion to determine the average quality of a newschool product. Henceforth, I say to you, NeoGoa : a big thank you, and a happy birthday. I wish you eternal glory. Now, let's talk music. Introduction Behind the Proxeeus projects is Jérôme Lesterps, a rising artist who has spent a whole year building himself a reputation in the realm of Goa Trance. One year ago, he was anonymous. But after much work he managed to participate to some releases : Stellar Discovery [Goa Galaxy] in summer 2014 Celestial Transvibrations [NeoGoa] in winter 2014 Psychedelicus [Goalogique], Floating Between the Moon and the Sun [Goa Madness] and Translinguistic Perceptions [Visionary Shamanics] in spring 2015 And now a full lenghth album released by a famous Goa label. This rapid evolution can be explain by the peculiarity of his sound. A sincere acidic sound inherited from the golden days, with an extra supplement of smoothness and a rusty groove. It is with this musical signature that Proxeeus made me like acidic Goa Trance. At first I found it to be bizarre, but I gradually got into it, even though his music offered many little imperfections. Sometimes a bit bland, sometimes too fluffy, or too confuse, and pretty repetitive from track to track. According to me, the biggest challenge that Proxeeus had to deal with with the Mountains of Madness was to overcome these many issues to produce a brighter sound. The concept At the Mountains of Madness The title of the album in itself conveys us to an unusual destination. But the promise is clear. The journey will take us to an ascending spiral of altered mental states, until we reach the top of psychedelicness. Madness will be explored in its utmost glory, as mountains tend to be associated with something dominant and transcendant. The style This is the hardest part of the review. Depicting sounds with words is not a natural thing, but it is important to put an impression on an artist's fragrance. First of all, Jérôme Proxeeus remains here truthful to his former tracks. The album is characterized by a very strong feeling of organic-ness. While many Goa artists tend to focus on a story-telling structure with narrative movements, and resort to mythological motives, Proxeeus prefers to brew a mixture of sounds, like a sorcerer making up a potion. Psychedelicness is attained through the unfolding of many textures, through the cooling and warming of the beverage, through the chemical reactions that occur between the many drooling, peeping, bubbling sounds of 303 sparks cooking up amidst the bassline cauldron. The music acts as a warm fluid, a psychedelic lava that progressively enters the mind to make consciousness boil like a strange philtre. And this is precisely what I like about Proxeeus' sound : it's liquid, and it proceeds by waves. It has amplitude, regularity, roundness, just like water. Warm water. When I close my eyes while listening to this music, a biologic scenery unfolds in my mind. Many Goa artists tend to create a vast, cosmic sonic space, to fill it with energy, and to shake it with a sismic energy in order to create spacequakes, thanks to heavy basslines. Proxeeus does not. Instead, he occupies the space with a muffled bassline and dense textures that gives a feeling of an inner resonance. It's a bit of an underwater sensation that, combined with a organic input provided by the acid loops and the hot tempo, plunges your body in an amniotic bath. It is a carnal music, but in an intimate, cocooning sense. The heat of the music is the heat of a breath ; the pumping is a heartbeat ; the fluidity is like blood running. Adding up to this biologic theater, there is an underlying cyberpunk theme. Machines meet hot organic fluids. Living organs are connected to computers through wires. Sinister atmospheres of an uncanny laboratory go through the tracks. A mechanical menace is heard echoing. And accross the Galaxy, malevolent cyborg aboard their starships seek to rapture the living. The coldness of steel responds to the warm vividness of the body. And that is very interesting, because it highlights the relationships between the actual Jérôme Proxeeus, a being of flesh and bones, and the metallic instruments which he tries to make sing. But overall, it is an introvert music with a silky touch, a deep music aligned with the body's frequencies which uplifts organic memories from time to time, a shamanistic beverage with a retro sci-fi accent. The global mood of the track, with its deepening reverberations, put you in a stasis suitable to a psychedelic experience, and the constant buzzing of coloured spots all around the tracks puts the mind into a hallucinogenic state that soon becomes a form of enlightened madness. The plot The story takes place in a far future. Mankind is rotting in decay across the Galaxy. Machines are supreme and lead the Milky Way, while sloth and slunder have paralyzed most of humans. In the dark suburbs of one of the largest human colony, a rumor has spread. There is a new drug that circulates underground, an illegal substance with legendary properties that people struggle to obtain. Its name is ayahuasca, a synthetic product famous to awaken ancient memories from one's ancestors. But Proxeeus is a young hacker that isn't interested by drugs. One day, as he enters confidential files of the deep net, a mysterious entity appears within his occulus rift. It is a living hologram, a artificial intelligence made up of algorhythms who claim to be Hanuman, an ancient Hindu god. As Proxeeus talks to him, the divinity progressively takes possession of him. Hanuman's goal is to counter a conspiracy, machines plotting to enslave manking to a higher degree, a mechanical menace that threatens the colony and beyond. That's why he reveals to Proxeeus a code – the Vimana, to hack the machines, but his brain cannot handle it. To make his plan work, Hunaman sends the human to collect as much ayahuasca as possible, so that the god penetrates further into his mind, and expands it from the inside. As he is tripping high, Proxeeus deviates from his course, and enters a dimension against which the junkies warned him about : the Mountains of Madness, a range of hallucinogenic peaks against which consciousness is wrecked. As the hackers sinks into insanity, Hanuman seeks the cybernet for the help of another hologram : Chandra. The final track tells depicts the ruins scattered around the Sea of Tranquillity... The tracks 1. Across the Galaxy Dark, mysterious, stomping. A modern track with a bassline reminding me of Etnica – Intense Visitation, and cool electric FX. 08:36 is mind-opening. A- 2. Hanuman Deep. Twisted. Dedallic. A bit funky. Somehow recalls me of Miranda. A- 3. Vimanas I didn't expect this more full-onic bassline into Proxxeus' universe. Some metallic, scrapping sounds recall early psytrance. A slightly bit itchy for my taste. But I liked a lot the oriental climaxic melodies, which are very hypnotic. A 4. Mechanical Menace Very shamanic. Crazy and ritualistic. I would definitely dance to this one. A- 5. At the Mountains of Madness Some rare acid spirals in it. The bassline is awesome. Hard scratching acid. The climax is profound. A 6. Ayahuasca Classic acid trance, with some oriental highlights. B/B- 7. Chandra Knows A very futuristic track with a compelling cyberpunk atmosphere. A- 8. The Sea of Tranquillity You guys know that I don't like Goa downtempo. So, I won't rate this track :/ Overall : challenge succeeded. Proxeeus has refined his sound, and created an amazing album. He now stands as the new Semsis, even if he incorporates modern influences that recall early psytrance 1998 style (like X-Dream). Examples of Semsis : Planet, 1997 Pile, 1996 Artwork Not bad. The moon looked photoshopped. Overall it reminds me of a little something... Conclusion Cool music that is excellent to regulate your mental states. It's not surprizing that Jérôme Proxeeus found therapeutic virtues in this form of Goa Trance. GJ. DOWNLOAD FOR FREE
  4. Artist: Various Title: The World Beyond Label: Neogoa Date: March, 20 2015 01 - Chapter I: The Vision (Passing The Monolith Into The Throat Of Time) (120 BPM) 02 - Chapter II: The Journey (Across The Silver Sea Of Eternal Life) (100 BPM) 03 - Chapter III: The Gate (Facing The Keeper Below The Human-Form Mountain) (136 BPM) 04 - Chapter IV: The Sphere (Ascending Towards Star-Eaters To Become The One) (146 BPM) "Hear ye hear ye! By decree of the order of goa trance purists we decree that the final two tracks on this compilation performed by heretofore unknown artisans are perfect in every aspect that can be measured by our mortal systems of worth. Furthermore it shall be exalted to the highest plane, be it physical, mental, or spiritual and will forever be the standard by which all further attempts at goa awesomeness shall be judged!" Bravo Neogoa. Bravo. You've really done it this time. As a netlabel you've been dedicated to keeping the spirit and vibe of goa trance alive; constantly and consistently pushing the music to shatter boundaries and preconceived notions of what it can be. Accompanied by stunning artwork the music is always freely given and with this release a new standard has been set. Though only 4 tracks the journey is a full albums length, beginning slowly before shattering expectations in a nuclear crescendo of goa trance wizardry. This is a concept release made by eight artists all of whom have previously appeared on releases from the label. Embedded within the artwork one will find hints of connection to previous Neogoa releases, particularly the Dimensional Gateway series and Celestial Transvibrations. We often talk in terms of releases not breaking any new ground, but this one does. Chapter I: The Vision (Passing The Monolith Into The Throat Of Time) I realize that every journey begins somewhere and to get to the World Beyond, this is the first step. But to me this is 17 (yep 17) minutes of stumbling around in an attic like the ghosts in Scooby Doo. Dark ambient when done well captures a feeling and propels the listener where the artist wants he or she to go. This sounds like a collection of noises that I skip every time. Perhaps it will appeal to some and that's good. No big deal, I don't get opera either and people love that sh*t. Chapter II: The Journey (Across The Silver Sea Of Eternal Life) is the bridge between the opening track and the outright earthquake that is to come. Like the others it's dark ambient opening sets the tone before it glides into a mid-tempo march. Goa sounds and effects ricochet off the walls as it prepares you for the oncoming train. It's mellow yet entrancing in it's own right and then changes tempo and adds a tribal aspect to its arsenal. Not devastating like the next two, but it's not supposed to be. The journey and understanding...take time. Chapter III: The Gate (Facing The Keeper Below The Human-Form Mountain) is the precursor to the blistering final chapter, but is a stomper in its own right. It also allows the dark tension to build before bouncing into another old school feel. The bounce on this one is infectious instantly morphing the worst dancers into a rhythmic Shiva where colors flow from magical fingertips in an elaborate tapestry of mystical dance. The vocal tacet seals the deal and I've just punched my ticket to Nirvana. Excuse me whilst I get down. Chapter IV: The Sphere (Ascending Towards Star-Eaters To Become The One). This track is an acidic napalm blast peering through darkness at the outset. Growling 303's are readily apparent and it sends electrical shivers through the atmosphere. 23 minutes of hurtling through the cosmos, top down system up! A perfect blend of old school rawness with modern sound and production. I believe all the old masters who delivered subpar post goa releases (looking right at you MFG and Pleiadians) should listen to this and learn how beautiful and raw goa trance can be today. A third of the way through and I already think this is one of the greatest goa tracks ever produced. The intensity is maintained as is the atmosphere and I realize I am in the presence of greatness. The break is palpable, a thing alive. Perfect. Sublime. Ruthless. Mystical. You heard Homer. I'll be honest with you. I don't have the patience to figure out the riddle. I've got kids and I had to take one of them to the emergency room on Friday. So I'll leave the mystery solving to Scoob, Shags, and you guys. But whomever was responsible for the energy, the journey, take a bow. The final two tracks for me are the most potent one-two punch I've experienced in recent memory. Ivan you once again have guided the music to a world beyond, with awesome sound, breathtaking presentation, and reassurance that just when you think you've gone as far as you can go the horizon is within reach. 5. Artist: GoaTree Title: Akasha Connection Label: Neogoa Date: September, 2015 1 - Aura 2 - Neural Oscillation 3 - Akasha Connection 4 - Don't You 5 - Oblivion Planet (vs Somnesia) 6 - Invisible People 7 - Weekly Drive (GoaTree Remix) 8 - Order To My Chaos 9 - Artificial Intelligence "You know I love you don't you?" "What the f*ck are they doing up there?" "Promoter said showers are mandatory for party entrance. So they all jumped up there and won't come down." "Damn shame what the fat one is doing to that tree. Just a damn shame." And this is how GoaTrees were born. Probably. I guess...I wasn't really that attentive in botany class. And how could I be when there were so many hot chicks looking for that easy A? GoaTree is Lukas Bartosek from Slovakia which is somewhere near India I think (geography class had even more honeys in it). This is his debut album presented for free on the Neogoa netlabel (although not only net anymore, eh?) with artwork by the one and only Richpa. And it begins with a thumping good goa track (Aura) that I was rockin' whilst mowing the lawn. Good lawn mowing music for sure. Dats my whip! Straight gangsta! Husqvarna fo' life! Yeah, I'm 44 years old. I don't speak that way. Forgive my momentary lapse. The next couple of tracks bounce along nicely with some catchy melodies and I liked the breakbeat in Akasha Connection. Don't You has a repetitive chant (African I believe, but as I told you I was looking at the ladies so I could be wrong) that doesn't thrill me. So...do I? No I don't. Oblivion Planet wasn't anything special and Invisible People comes off as simple filler, limping along. Weekly Drive had a grand beat during the break which changed things up a little before it rocketed back into a hyper 4/4. Not bad. Order to My Chaos ups the BPM's to 160 for a high intensity workout and he closes with the downtempo/midtempo Artificial Intelligence. Is that a f*cking shanai? Again like a lot if the tracks on this album I'm filled with a large load of meh. What the hell happened? I've found his compilation tracks much more detailed and enjoyable than a good portion of this album. It's not bad at all, but he himself has set the bar high so expectations of course rise with it. Perhaps this could've been another EP release instead of an album where he branches out and flirts with different styles. The sound is great and listening to Aura tells me that he has the ability to deliver the goods. He just didn't seem to do it here. Free at Ektoplazm!
  6. Artist: Perfect Blind Title: Wanderers Label: Neogoa Date: April, 2016 1. Passing the Veil 2. Floating Spheres 3. Outerland 4. Syncope 2015 5. Lunar Dawn - Blessings From Irij (Remix) 6. Edge of Solitude 7. Sabled Sun (with Subscale) 8. March of the Dragonflies 9. Nephilim' Dance (With Psilocybian) 10. Wanderers Bonus Tracks: 1. Sudden Clarity (Feat. CUBErt) 2. Outerland (Downtempo Mix) Igor Ceranic from Croatia may not be a household name, but he should be. If you're a fan of modern day goa trance you have certainly heard his work. All those physical CDs you've got stored in cardboard boxes until Ikea gets their sh*t together and makes a great CD rack are probably mastered by him. He's produced under the name Dual Barrel , Deimos , Perfect Blind...even as part of the metal band Subscale. This is his latest effort, a downtempo album that is filled with industrial sounds and atmosphere. That's kind of his thing and if you heard We Have Forgotten under his Deimos moniker you would already know that. This is not Solar Fields or Aes Dana so if you're looking to take a nap then this ain't the vehicle. Calling this chill is a stretch. His sounds are dark and the themes are as well. It's immersive and layered with Matrix-esque futuristic overtones. He told me once that he tries to go lighter sometimes, but it usually ends up in a dark place. The album is a solid experience with industrial ambient powerhouse Edge of Solitude and the engaging Sabled Sun. Usually when guitars make an appearance it has a tendency to become a sh*tshow, but it was well done here. His take on Lunar Dawn's Blessing's From Irij (released on Blessings From Irij Remixes) is still a slowed down goa treat. Unfortunately I felt that March of the Dragonflies and his contribution with psytrance genius Psilocybian didn't really go anywhere. Missed opportunity. That said, I liked this album, but I think he's just scratched the surface of his talent. Personally I would love an even darker industrial goa album. His sound is so lush and he layers so well. Because I think he has the potential to be the next UX or Syb Unity Nettwerk. When you buy his album from his Bandcamp page you also get two downloadable bonus tracks. Now you can download it for free from Ektoplazm, but if you buy it from his bandcamp you can also bundle it with the Deimos album and that is highly recommended. Plus you get to help the artist and that's never a bad thing. Perfect Blind Bandcamp Ektoplazm
  7. So I thought it would be interesting to compile a list with links to the labels on Bandcamp, that are either focused on retro-goa/neo-goa, or which release that as well in addition to other styles. There seems to be a new golden age for discovering both old and new goa on the Bandcamp platform. I'm just recently starting to see what a nice platform it is, it reminds me a lot of mp3.com. I stumbled upon Avatar Records, out of curiousity while reading a review of the Asia 2001 album Amnesia. I was suprised to see that they are still active, and released some old school goa trance compilations last year. Not sure if it's re-released compilations, but it doesn't mather, it's goa. Their bandcamp is full with what seems to be their entire catalog, so plenty of goa trance there. Which other labels are there today in 2020 who one should keep an eye on? Let's compile a complete list. https://avatarmusic.bandcamp.com https://cronomi.bandcamp.com https://classicgoatrax.bandcamp.com https://datrecords.bandcamp.com https://dragonflyrecordsuk.bandcamp.com https://ektoplazm.com https://ektoplazm.bandcamp.com Not sure if there is any goa on the Ektoplazm bandcamp, but there sure is on the main site. https://goamadnessrecordsofficial.bandcamp.com https://globalsect.bandcamp.com https://mamomamrecords.bandcamp.com https://matsuridigital.bandcamp.com https://melusinerecords.bandcamp.com https://neogoarecords.bandcamp.com/ https://novatekk.bandcamp.com The parent-label behind the Goa-Head compilations. Not much more needs to be said, stuff of legends. https://spacedockrecords.bandcamp.com http://spiraltrax.bandcamp.com/ https://suntriprecords.bandcamp.com https://subterraneanrecords.bandcamp.com Not sure how active Sub Terranean are with regards to new releases, but I definitely think they count because they re-released what seems to be their entire epic catalog on bandcamp. Both goa and acid/acid trance, in addition to other styles. Acid Flash anyone? https://unreleasedgoarecords.bandcamp.com https://timewarprecords.bandcamp.com https://zion604records.bandcamp.com

  9. It's big, it's beautiful, it's Median Project - Constellation Artist: Median project Album: Constellation Label: Suntrip Records Release: May 20, 2019 Tracklist:- 1. Antidote 2. Mission Adept 3. It Is Not Possible 4. Infinite Space 5. On The Edge 6. Pandora's Box 7. Sand Of Time 8. Sunrise 9. The Constellation Of Aries This review is about what is in my opinion one of the most extraordinary release of modern Goa to date. An Album that encapsulates the cosmic tone of the genre in it's own unique and captivating way. Personally I can honestly say that only 3 or 4 other albums have ever granted me this much excitement, and none of those have been been in this style and this style is by far my favourite. This album is not another level, it is the level. If your brain converts sound into colours and shapes then this is going be one vibrant journey of electricity. The album art by ShivaOMArt really says it all as far as the spectrum of colours that you are going to be blasted through goes. You're going to experience warm rust pyramids filled with gold, strokes of amber splashed across azure temples and gas giants of cerulean creating reactions with scarlets. You might even spot some periwinkle In the distance. 'Yea yea, it sounds amazing but it's not a game changer' 'Sorry huh? What did you just? Not a game changer for whom good sir & madam?' It is certainly a game changer for Sergey who has advanced his skill to another level. The layers are as balanced as a spirit level placed by Vladimir Shukhov himself, the leads rip through the other sounds and at times dance around in prisms of energy above your head while at other times zip through your head taking you to star nebula's. Vocal samples nestle themselves neatly into tracks where they are placed, but it's really the other elements that make these tracks stand out. The dial tone in Mission Adept, the boombastic roar in It Is Not Possible & the unforgettable screeches for the first 4 minutes of Sand Of Time, my god even a 4 second sample of that track gives my brain dopamine thrush. The melody of Sunrise & The Constellation Of Aries make me drive exactly 4 kilometres over the speed limit with a huge smile on my face. It's all cosmic Goa, but not like you have heard before. Median Project has placed more emphasis on the moments that really make a track stand out, the introductions and outro's have been given more detail, the tracks have been filled with 'Bigger' sounds and more effort has been placed into introducing periphery sounds that make every listen unique. I have had this album since it's release, so I have had plenty of time to listen to it, the honeymoon period is over and I can with all certainty say that this production of art is up there with the greats of the genre and the broader spectrum of Psytrance. What Median Project has done is find a way to take cosmic goa up to the next stage of its evolution, I can consider this album an advancement towards the style that others (Hopefully) will build on. It does have all the NeoGoa elements that some people (Not Tsotsi) often find tiresome but the arrangements are what keep this exciting. For those of you that think that this genre has nothing new to add, crank this up when the sun goes down and prepare yourself for a visit to solar systems far away. As always I would like to thank Sergey for taking the time to deliver this masterpiece to us and making the world that much more colourful for it. His hard work really does pay off. Thanks to all others involved in the project including Suntrip for an interstellar addition to their catalogue. One Final word. The description of the album calls this Astral Projection meets Mindsphere, but I think we can surely agree that from now on this is pure Median Project an artist unto himself. https://suntriprecords.bandcamp.com/album/median-project-constellation
  10. OUT NOW! https://bit.ly/FloralCortex After short break we're back again with another psychedelic Goa trance gem from the northern Europe entitled Floral Cortex. It's a debut album of Frode Ungar, a talented producer and musician from Maan project, which we already introduced on our Dimensional Gateway 5 compilation, back in 2017. The name (Maan) is derived from a special location in the south-west of Norway called Mån, a place where creativity and inspiration evaporates through the very pores of nature. With Floral Cortex, three years after the release of Field Quanta track, Maan is ready to take us on his journey once again, but this time through the deep & foresty atmospheres of biomechanical worlds where artificial creativity exists. As his music progresses, you will feel the connection between the organic and mechanical sounds, the neverending loop which greatly represents the extensive influences and styles found on the Floral Cortex ranging from ritualistic tribal and even norse pagan atmospheres towards more progressive and metalic Goa trance vibes, spiced up with forest and techno influences. Floral Cortex is scheduled to come out on 31st of May 2020 in digital and limited CDr format Pre-order at Bandcamp: https://bit.ly/FloralCortex Artist: Maan Album: Floral Cortex Label: Neogoa Records Release date: 31st May, 2020. 12. Neogoa Records is proud to present the final release for 2019 - the long-awaited new Goa trance album entitled 'Hypnotic Mirage' by Danish music producer and artist Anders Munk, better known as GoaD. In summer 2016, GoaD stunned the Goa trance scene with his debut album 'Galactic Aviator' (released by Neogoa Records via Ektoplazm platform) and introduced his high-octane and acidic Goa trance compositions influenced by old-school juggernauts such as The Overlords, Transwave, Man With No Name, and Astral Projection, but with signature GoaD vibe. Led by positive buzz and feedback, Anders worked very hard in his home-studio last two years crafting new materials for Hypnotic Mirage album. Earlier this year new music was finally completed and the idea to rehaul the Galactic Aviator album with new mix and mastering was born. This Christmas you will have a chance to enjoy in over 140 minutes of top notch Goa trance music (in both digital and physical formats) with 22 tracks by GoaD (11 tracks from Hypnotic Mirage + 11 remastered tracks from Galactic Aviator). 13. First release from the new founded label moontrip records. Luna Nova, or new moon, predisposes us for a dark approach as the inspiring beautiful cover art, expressing effectively the mystic essence of psychedelic trance. ------------------------------------------------- The first track starts dark and monotonous, with a midtempo rhythm, simple but effective. An indian like melody gets in, in a dark perspective. It continues in this way with ethereal effects coming in and out. It reminds me a bit of Twin Sharkfins mixture of hindu spirit in compositions along with a spacey perspective. Great track, midtempo but effective, makes you get in it, very psychedelic. Second track. Starts with celestial atmospheres, making it sentimental, and that's its direction, melodies and lines in trance style with a nostalgic sound. The atmosphere is wonderfull, great lines and buildings. At the final part, a melody gets in which sounds energetic in the beginning but has also some nitzhogoa influences, good and interesting along with other lines chord. The track closes with a bassline diversity and it's atmosphere. Third track. An simple acid line ends in a massive and deep start. The track continues alike with a mid tempo and with accompanying chords to the main melody theme. In the final part, it gets again and even more massive creating depth, feeling and nrg. Nice track. Although it has an oriental texture a bit too open for my taste, i think it's soberness, keeps it in a goa way. Fourth track. Start with an egyptian atmosphere and weird liquid effects. The rhythmical effects are bit too playful and try to give nrg, but the massive melody and its chord inspire us of nostalgia. Great floating lines and chords of a background melody that gives the feeling to the rest. This synthesis has a rich atmosphere creating depth and floatation. At the final part, after an atmospheric and simple passage, a magic melody sends us out of this world. I only didn't like too much the rhythmical playful effects in the most parts, but i might get used to it. Fifth track opens with a dark enviroment. It starts very good with great lines and sounds, a dark take-off in a midtempo pace. The building creates depth and a interest to follow, but the addition (from 2:07 until 2:34 and main melody 3:16 to 4:25) of this kind of oriental melodies, of a Bollywood style, it's quite foreign for my goa standards and taste, afterwhich a deep rich texture initiate us into mystical paths, a very nice passage leading to the atmospheric end. It is an attemp of the synthesis to mix dark goa with oriental trance. Sixth track, begins with an acid strong line. The track doesn't delay to reveal its essense and classification. It's nitzhonot / oriental trance. It's a wellmade composition for the followers of this style, full of variation, but not for my cup of tea. Seventh track. A more fast paced strong beat accompanied by drums fades in a brief intriguing intro. It is a more minimal composition with the exception of a nice melody making it's appearence at the half of the track and the final part, in which alot more is happening though managing to keep its line and itself in the theme. Very nice track. Eighth track commences with a full-on tribal beat from the beginning along with lounge sounding samples and sweet lines. I think its a more club approach. There is some goa influences at some passages, mainly around the half and an oriental turn at the final part. The track is ending in it's lounge tribal full-on beating. Again, not my cup of tea. Final track. A slower mid tempo under a continuous atmosphere. Nice acid lines and a mesmerising build up along with the atmosphere creating a more deep enviroment. The addition of a lounge-style line makes the track more mellow, but not annoying. This chill-out atmosphere returns after a passage of samples and builds-up. Nice track. ------------------------------------------------- All in all, a compilation that some of its parts focus to a more dark goa approach, while some others please more oriental or mellow affinities. I find myself in the first direction along with the mellow tracks, which do not differentiate from the authentic spirit. Personaly, i prefer mostly, compilations of certain direction. moontrip records, here in its first release, presented to us, in many parts, a new appearance of good goa trance creations trying to take a distance from the plasticity of the new school sound. That is very promising, and as a mystic and a follower of this sound, i am waiting from moontrip to extend in this direction.

By the end of 2019 we have had a huge amount of quality goa releases. Suntrip, Goa Madness, Global Sect, ... they all delivered big time. I'm still in the process of listening and eh well... processing what the talented goa artists gave us this year. Reviews will be added to the threads shortly. Yet an unexpected appearance in 2019's goa catalog made me write a (short) review so you are sure not to miss it. And buy it! Neogoa records sometimes shoots a limited CD release to us and this time its GoaD's Hypnotic Mirage. Immediately when I heard the samples I felt this was an outsider amidst all the goa violence we got this year. Danish Anders Munk manages to melt old school sounds with a warm and thick hypnotic spectrum of sounds. And "hypnotic" is the key word here. Every track is submerged in hypnotic acid bubbles that go on and on until your brain is addicted to it. So beautiful. The mastering is super so your ears can have a break while listening to this masterpiece. Modern goa that doesn't follow any formula, but sticks to a warm hypnotizing feeling. There is not one single filler track. The second part of the release is a remastered version of his previous album Galactic Aviator. Reviews can be found HERE. The progress between the two albums is very noticeable. Hypnotic Mirage sounds much more modern and full to me. GoaD is steadily improving his sounds and production skills. This album is a topper already and I'm sure he will deliver much more in the future. What a surprise! Just ordered the limited CDR. What other choice do I have? 15. Artist: Various Title: Dimensional Gateway III Label: Neogoa Date: December, 2012 1. PharaOm - Space Outpost Titan V [142 BPM] (07:40) 2. Trinodia - 7th Ace [139 BPM] (09:02) 3. Screw Loose - So Much To See [145 BPM] (08:10) 4. Astrancer - Fenomena [146 BPM] (09:41) 5. Decadent Sympozium - Lux Invictus [144 BPM] (08:20) 6. Nova Fractal - Redemption [146 BPM] (10:08) 7. Lunar Dawn - Future Of Mankind (Waiting The Dark Years) [147 BPM] (09:22) 8. BlackStarrFinale - Sagittarius A* [145 BPM] (10:59) 9. Menkalian & GoaHuman - Spirit Of Life [120 BPM] (06:34) Creator of the Neogoa label (and now Graviton Records head) Ivan Richpa presents the third installment of the phenomenally successful Dimensional Gateway series. Not only did he compile all the tracks (which I can only assume meant going door to door with the requisite begging and threatening) but he's also responsible for the impressive artwork. A gateway should be ornate, impressive...making you feel like you are about to enter something substantial. To what dimension does this lead? Richard Gere's hamster could not be reached for comment. Gateway drug? I don't think so...unless it's a gateway to laughter and a bag of Doritos. 2. 2 bags of Doritos. And some funions. Crackers. Ritz crackers with some cream cheese. And do you still have those pork rinds? "I tell you B...why doesn't he get some help? Why? I'm tired of tip-toeing around this, he has to know he sounds like this. It's been over 70 years and I still can't understand a f*cking thing Donald says!" So here we go on the journey through the 3rd and presumably final gateway with the usual cast of characters as well as a couple of fresh faces. Space Outpost Titan V- I don't like it. I'm sorry I don't. Oswald Pfeiffer recently released his debut Tesseract (for free) and I found it to be a great album, but this sounds nothing like it. The problem I have with it is that it relies too heavily on samples. In fact it sounds as if the track was built around them instead of using them as an enhancement. It also doesn't help that the samples themselves are quite cheesy. But one thing I did like was that he experimented with a different style. While I might not like it, I definitely respect it. 7th Ace- Daniel Eldström is no stranger to the scene having released Human History (also for free) and Stargazing on Ovnimoon Records. This one is a combination of spiritual goa meets outer space goa. Twirling melodies as you would expect, but when that 303 growls to the surface I take notice like teenager at a Hooters. You can tell he is a storyteller as his break is vast and the launching pad for more snakey leads and a nice full climax. And I think that a nice full climax is something we can all agree on. So Much Too See- "This is one corner...of one country on one continent on one planet that's a corner of a galaxy that is a corner of a universe that is forever growing, shrinking, creating, destroying, never remaining the same for a single milisecond and there is so much, so much to see." Yeah...take it all in. So. Much. To. See. Proof that the Balkans not only dominate progressive trance they have goa trance square in their sights and Sasa Dukic lays a rumbly goa smack down on you. That 303 bounces like it's dancing on a hot stove and did you check the way he slid that sample in there without giving you a chance to catch your breath? It catches you up without strangling you with melody, but you don't have to ponder whether it's goa as he layers nicely. Great track. Fenomena- Like a lot of you Bruno first came to my attention with the Dzog Chen track on the Pyramidal Trancendence comp back in 2006 and it's been high expectations ever since. I mean how do you top that? Well he didn't do it here, but he nonetheless made a ok track. It has power, but not much evolution. Even with that shortcoming it still sounded full and very spacey to my ears. Lux Invictus- Here is the first of the fresh faces with a very shiny and shimmery lead melody line. It's another track that smacks you right in the beginning without many twists and turns, but it's still good. Methinks Ivan may have stumbled upon a gem here. It will be interesting to hear more stuff from this project. Redemption- we all have all done things that we weren't proud of or maybe wish we could've done better. "Ok, so you missed the question on the contents of a twinkie, I dunno I thought you were gonna nail that one, but, but let's move forward. All you gotta do is get clear of this last test and we win the million dollars. You can do it, redeem yourself. That's it, wait for it wait for it...Oh c'mon!! Damnit, you had this!" More Croatian dominance as Renato Brnić delivers another long goa tale. The beginning and break resembles Filteria's Filtertraces and he has a great Shawshank sample with Morgan Freeman speaking about...you guessed it redemption. That guy's voice is legendary. I'd be riveted listening to him read the terms of my mortgage. Besides Morgan's awesomeness it's a goa track that doesn't sound like a goa track. Sure the elements are there, but none of the cliche stuff that some are sick of hearing. Great track. Future Of Mankind (Waiting The Dark Years)- Lunar Dawn owns the Chuck Norris of tracks on this compilation. Overtly aggressive with searing leads and 1970's power. I really don't know what that last part means. "B*tch, don't touch Chuck Norris's steering wheel!" With a nice calm before the storm intro you can tell right away this isn't your daddy's buddhist monk goa trance. He layers sounds like my kid stacks leggos. Which reminds me: When Chuck Norris steps on leggos, leggos cry. The pace is brisk with only short breaks and it travels like a tsunami adding to it's destruction total. One if my favorites surely! Sagittarius A- Luis Pabon seems to believe that you have nothing better to do with your time because he offers an 11 minute track. AND YOU WILL LISTEN TO IT! It's got lasers in it. You like lasers. And that lead that sounds like the one in Blade when they walked into the "club" and the showers came on. Only it wasn't water. Oh no it was blood. That's how you do a vampire movie Twilight b*tches. Powerrrrrr. Sorry about that I was leaning on the r. Spirit of Life- And to close things out we get some fresh blood here with a downtempo-ish type track. I like that it's not a true downtempo track. After the previous tracks that would be like going through the windshield at 65 miles an hour. I think that's like 476 kilometers for the Euros. But you might want to check my math. The sound of this one is more melancholy and Lord of the Rings than Event Horizon if you get my meaning. Still nicely drifting and a great way to close it out. So there you have it. Ivan has done it again with the 3 volume of this series. Plenty of goa with a heavy dose of psychedelia to see you through. As with the previous albums this one is also free and I think will be available December 1st. Congratulations to him and all the artists that continue to make this series something to look forward to. Coming Very. Very. Very. Soon. Mdk
  16. Initial autumn of 2019 marks the return of legendary Ukrainian artist, compiler, DJ and Goa trance juggernaut Sky Technology. Man behind the project Dmitriy Kolosovskiy on his new 4th studio album entitled ”Rainbow Spirit” presents nine acidic compositions carefully crafted during the last three years in his home music studio in Kiev, as well as the stellar remix of Katedra’s ”Collision Course” track. The name Rainbow Spirit stands for pure emotion, raw energy and spectrum of colorful sounds Goa music brings upon it’s passionate following and Sky Technology as the vital part and a true fan of the genre knows how to invoke thoose feelings, especially on the new album where he brought additional level of details and crazy melodies perfect for any dancefloor. 17. Title: Astronauts In Space Artist: VA Label: Global Sect Date: September 9, 2019 1. Rayavarna - Countdown To Ascension: 2. JIS - Mercury 3. Median Project - Venus 4. Ypsilon 5 - Terra Firma 5. Skarma - Mars 6. Mindsphere - Spectacular Purity 7. Triquetra - Chronos 8. Tomocomo - Warp To Uranus 9. Ephedra - Saturn 10. Proxeeus - Pluto 1. Countdown To Ascension - A proper stormer that starts this comp off in a very positive direction. A seriously enjoyable melody and fantastic premise maintained all the way to the end. I couldn't imagine a crowd that wouldn't get their socks off to this track. 2. Mercury - A faster pace and low roars help you continue your way around our suns closest planet. Carrying you on lovely waves of sonic wonder & melodies of ecstatic apprehension ,JIS travels us around the extremes of our star and the light shines bright and wonderful. 3. Venus - At first I wasn't captivated. I think I was expecting Constellations and got In The Depth Of Space That's the thing about releasing an extraordinary album. But there was nothing I didn't enjoy about Depths Of Space And hardly I think I don't mind about this track. Some of the moments might have went for a few phases too long not allowing the final act to gain real momentum and release. But once the final act does come, it hardly matters what comes before. 4. Terra Firma - Despite my love for the other artists on the album Ypsilon 5's track was the one that I was most interested in. Paranormal is one of my all time tracks, there is never a moment where I don't want to listen to it. Well Terra Firma has undoubtedly been created on a modern strain of inspiration, but Ypsilon 5's sound and style hasn't been lost an iota. At times floaty, exciting and bouncy. That final act is a real treat too, an obvious master at his craft and a favourite from the comp. 5. Mars - First listen I was definitely into it straight away, since then I have only enjoyed it more even thinking that it's one of the stand outs from the compilation. The way the layers intersect and meld together to wrap the track into webs of enjoyment is testament to the Skill we get so often from Skarma. There'll be an album one day yea? 6. Spectacular Purity - It's not the Mindsphere style I have listened to on other comps, this makes it all the more thrilling, in fact it's like every track I here from Ali is unique and thrilling. The second listen I was definitely more into it and now I think it's one of the stand out display of Mindspheres talent 7. Chronos - I have a rule, if you're gonna call a track Chronos, then smash that shit. In my car where I listen to most my music now days I didn't think they had quite done it, felt like random parts thrown in without a connecting flow. On a proper set up this track comes to life. The moments all subtly connect while the energy gets thrown at you over and over after psychedelic breaks flip your brain. 8. Warp To Uranus - I'm not going to pretend like it's not brave to put a track with 'Uranus' in the title on the internet. What does have that got to do with the track however? Hardly much. The song starts with a cool premise that cruises along with bongos until about the 2:50 mark where it begins to take off. Despite the smooth rhythms it doesn't hit the excitement sweet spot. 9. Saturn - Ephedra's name is always nice to see come up. Like Imba you know you're going to get something at the very least enjoyable, and at the most a standout performance. In this instance its a standout performance. The Huge climax and ethereal undertones work wonders on the ears, 10. Pluto - When Proxeeus goes big he really nails it. A perfect example of that here, like Me, Myself and a Gnop-keh Pluto, blasts ahead with a track that starts sounding more galactic than we normally get from our Lovecraftian thaumaturge. That pretence disappears as the leads storm in creating melodies spinning through mind altering psychedelia. A favourite from the artist and the compilation. Overall it doesn't feel like Global Sect's strongest release. On closer inspection it's hard to see why. All the tracks are there, many are amazing and Global Sect offer some styles that we aren't used to hearing from them. I suppose Terraformer was a gargantuan step in the promotion of galactic goa and despite the good tracks this doesn't feel as incredible overall. Perhaps it's unfair to benchmark against Terraformer, after all I am much happier with this album in my life than not. It's great to see Ypsilon 5 back in the game producing high quality music, Skarma sparkled bright, Ephedra & Proxeeus both deliver standing ovations and arm flailings, Rayavarna & JIS bring melody and funk to the table. So yea, I do recommend checking it out. An album that is certainly going to age well and get better with time. Awesome Album artwork. Looking at the labels releases in succession offers a nice panel of colours. https://globalsect.bandcamp.com/album/va-astronauts-in-the-solar-system

Artifact303 - Delirium (Downward Spiral) 07:37 I owe it to Global Sect to review this piece. Least of my reasons being that I accidentally bought this album twice...Not a cheap album, but Tsotsi must have assumed he hadn't bought it and just panic purchased to listen to on the plane to Thailand. Another reason this review had to happen was because I just had to tell the world how much I loved some of the tracks on the compilation. The best of which I believe was Sykespico's, the arrangements, change of acts, power, melodies. The entire composition blew me away. followed closely by Javi and Skooma's utter chaos of a track. Holy shit, there is a very fine line between over doing it, and frivolously swaying on the edge of that canyon. Javi & Skooma just created brining the edge with them as they jump across that line. This song is absolute madness from start to finish and probably one of the biggest risks on the compilation. Psy-H went balls deep in Gaura Nitay. Although a little repetitive at times when the peaks of the track hit they are good. Atlantis comes out with some proper beauty. Following the theme of the album of floaty dreamy space trance, I could have had more of that mantra but at the same time it broke me out of my daze when she came in, I didn't realise how deep in the track I'd fallen. Centevra Project do their job of introducing the theme of the album. Nothing amazing but the perfect opener to get us ready for more. They follow the theme of the album as they continue to pop up in other energised space acid tracks across the album...Obviously, they fit the composition perfectly (Maybe they even picked all the tracks ). Alienapa come in strong with 2 tracks. Are you mad being my favourite but only because I listened to 'night train' so many times when trying to figure out if I would pre-order the album or not and they new melody was appreciated. 'Ascension' by Raving Universe does just that, Ascends me to planets far beyond the terraformed inhabited planets of this albums. The track takes it times but it definitely gets you there, space travel aint fast my friends. Cosmic dimensions remix of Man With no Name's 'possessed' was the first track I listened to when I purchased this (The first purchase). Once again I haven't done my homework. I just finished Uni thats why Mom! So na, I aint heard the original, but the way people talk about MWNN I gotta assume he was special. I can imagine this back in the day, fucking amazing I'm sure. Well, Cosmic D has Done the old fliparoon on this one. Yes mam's and sir's he nailed it, by all rights I gotta assume he placed the old 'we are in space now trance dancer's' on top of it and I loved it. Awesomely produced and a great song all round. <---- Not true, there were no showers, this compilation is long Lets make it shorter to get me into one though. The rest of the tracks, and the entire albums is the sort of compilation you can play at anytime to get that particular style of trance. I'm starting to associate Global Sect with it, although I know the style aint new. Play it on shuffle at any point when that you feel like travelling to outta space, when you wanna get away from this goddamn planet and go see some funkier terraformed ones. Where the people will go in the year 2632 living a life of dance on the planets around what is, in that part of the galaxy, known as the trance dancers cluster. The grooviest section of outer space. . . Pick your planet. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thats it, thats the review. This is an 'Album' review not a 'Every song on the album' review. It's good my friends. Its not groundbreaking or challenging the genre, but it is cementing and defining it. A good compilation by all means. Listen in sections if you have too. But I promise, each song has its thing and stands apart from the others if you pay attention. Call it what you want, this is Goa, the greatest orchestrated arrangement of modern times and Global Sect have gone to a lot of work to collect these for us. Well done and thanks. To Javi, Skooma, & Sykespico. I potentially have another 79 years of life ahead of me, maybe more, would appreciate you continuing your crafts for the 50 years of that, that I'll be able to hear for. Ive taken the advice of Gfp1 and started blasting music on the newly acquired Bowers & Wilkins 600 series 3 stereo speakers and 2 subwoofers, on level 3 off an apartment. . . Fuck the neighbours . . . When they complain I'm telling them that 'someone on forum said I should'. https://globalsect.bandcamp.com/album/va-terraformer
  19. OUT NOW! - http://www.neogoa.net/proxeeus-celephais/ ''Wise men have interpreted dreams, and the gods have laughed.'' Neogoa Records is proud to present Celephaïs - 4th studio album by French artist and producer Jerome Lesterps (better known as Proxeeus). Since his debut album At The Mountains Of Madness was released back in the summer of 2015. at Neogoa Records, Jerome established himself as one of the leading Goa trance producers working nowdays, releasing two more albums at Goa Madness Records and presenting his vision of acidic Goa music around the globe to his growing following. Music on Celephaïs was composed during the last three years and it's heavily influenced by HP Lovecraft's novels, especially with Dream Cycle. It foucuses around the subject of dreams where music depicts an abstract image filled with elements of fear, horror and mysticism through the 77 minutes of new material. Celephaïs is a step-back from the usual high-paced Proxeeus sound, it brings more experimentation and exploration of ambient and downtempo sub-genre, but still keeping a Goa trance as a basis for his musical work. 21. Artist: Goatma Title: Sword In The Darkness Label: Neogoa Date: December, 2015 1. Sword In The Darkness 2. Cosmic Consciousness 3. Spiritual Chanting 4. Shabatayom As a final farewell to 2015 Neogoa presents a short 4 track EP by GoAtma or as the Google likes to call him...Goatman. His real name is Eylon Kadish and I cannot comment on whether like the fine gentleman above he likes to steal socks and take them to his snowy homeland. Doubtful. Pretty sure I could count the number of snowblowers in Israel on one hand. They have more important things to worry about over there. That's terrorism. First I'll say this is pretty powerful. Driving the whole way through as he weaves between goa and some more uplifting style. That said it's all pretty homogeneous. The first track doesn't have a lot of variety and I found myself getting bored with it pretty quickly. Cosmic Consciousness sounds a lot like the title track even if it is a little more aggressive. The final bit of that one is like an explosion so I liked it a lot. Spiritual Chanting sounds like it could be Cosmic Consciousness Part Deux. Only now with more chanting. Which brings me back to the homogeneous point. Another thing I noticed is that the sound palette is fairly limited and that really takes away from the listening experience. Kinda like I could step away from it and come back at a later point and not feel like I missed anything. Or every episode of Friends. So you guys didn't even know one black person? In NYC? Riiiiiight. Shabatayom is the one track that I feel comes closest to it's inner Nitzho without throwing bowls of cheese at the listener. The EP itself isn't bad at all, but in a time when we have heard it all the shortcomings I've mentioned don't allow it to distinguish itself. Free at Ektoplazm
  22. Sometimes it’s challenging to exemplify someone’s work and creation with just one word, but that’s not the case when it comes to the music of german Goa trance project Veasna. Mastermind behind the Veasna project and passionate Goa trance aficionado Patrick Dinklage gave a great definition of its own creation, by calling it simply noschool. And it fits perfectly. Spectral Flux is a collection of 9 new Goa trance tracks and expressive continuation of his debut album Energy, released back in summer of 2016. Each track on Spectral Flux supports the premise of noschool, offering the finest elements of modern and retro Goa trance, but keeping the creators own trademark mood. Perhaps the words from the author will be the best invitation to dive into this record and explore it: ''It is certainly no news that music can take you to places, including places that are not restricted to the physical world. From the opposite perspective, making music is a way to create those kinds of imaginary places, something I enjoy doing very much. So I am very glad that I may present nine more places for everyone to explore. Find in them what you will and enjoy your stay!'' 23. Artist: Lectro Spektral Daze Title: Infinitely Intricate Unfolding Kaleidoscope Label: Neogoa Records Release: Feb 23 2018 Tracklist: 1. Experiences And Encounters 2. Acid Feels 3. Observing From All Around 4. Matter Into Energy 5. Seen Something 6. Thoughts They are Like Flames 7. Yellow And Green And Blue Patterns 8. Wave After Wave I gotta say at first i was confused. Lectro Spektral Daze does some great stuff, some of my favourites, his use of breaks is intelligent, the builds keep me guessing and the fun just jumps from all his tracks. The confusion however came from my first few listens on my car speakers and a pair of little in ear phones. The highs and Lectro’s use of sweeps caused me to wince in pain. For example in Acid Feel at the 4 minute mark the washed out sweep made me pull my earphones out and turn the volume down. At 6 min the highs build to a similar discomfort I went through some of his older tracks and heard similar sweeps and highs that didn’t cause me the same discomfort. Then Neogoa were all ‘lets review this bad boy aye’. So i thought, it must just be me, the team themselves couldn’t have messed mastering up that badly (I'll always believe in you Neogoa). And so I should, on proper speakers everything changed. 'When you face animosity you don't give up, you turn the biggest loudest rig you have access to on and hit play' 1. Experiences and Encounters - Nice little intro, and a cool kick and bassline, very Lectro Spektral styled. The progressive influences come through in the beginning and it doesn't take long before the track (Almost explodes into energy), if those leads were just a little louder, if they just roared a little more. Regardless the melody doesn't get old and we soon come to the first big break, it’s a good one too, then the track really blasts off, i love that lead that comes in around 6:20 coulda listened to that for the rest of the track really. 2. Acid Feels - A warm acid filled track, that doesn't take long to draw you into a deep trance. Overall a pretty positive track. The pain from the washy sweeps is gone and the high builds teetered on the edge of painful without actually crossing the line. 3. Observing From all Around - Starts without much messing around, cool knob turning and big drums lead us into our first melody. The use of one off sound effects and connected samples is pretty sweet. It really takes off at the halfway point. And that break at 6 min! Thats what im here for, This really where Lectro stands out from the crowd, the change of direction is awesome. A great track and favourite of mine. 4. Matter into Energy - Another short intro, very educational all the same, and we are met by warm full-on sounding pads.A floaty sense of funk surrounds fills this track. As the promo track to the album this didn't really grab me, after a few more listens I’m turnt right up. Another great break, this time more intense. Instead of over-layering with melodies other sounds and fx are used to keep your interest. 5. Seen Something - A light star spangled first act leads us into another cool melody which takes center stage. I would’ve liked the leads after the first melody to roar at me a bit more, instead they are placed deeper into the track drawing me in. The broken beats around 5 min are sweat and another LSD trademark i appreciate. This is one track however where we coulda dressed the kick drum up in a little tree costume and sent it to the backstage to offer the rest of the song more room to move. 6. Thoughts They are Like Fire - They do don't they? Who'd have thought. We get some cool loops and wacky sounds drawing us into the track before the melody takes over, not overly complex but lasts longer than the other melodies we have heard so far. 7. Yellow And Green And Blue Patterns - Goa trance can be a little bit like a game of rugby. Sometimes the Full Back has the ball and takes center stage, other times they just sit there to support the rest of the team. Sometimes the Wing gets the ball and takes center stage, they get some help from the others but it's really all them going for it. For the first half of this song i would have liked more focus on the ball carriers. So much coolness happening but not a lot taking focus...It deep tho. That being said, this was without a doubt my favourite track, Why? You guessed it, that break is beautiful. Tear inducing, uplifting, beauty. This is what i came here for. The purity of the second half of this track is unreal. 8. Wave After Wave - Who is that lady? Is that the weird girl from American idol, i gotta find her . . . - Mary roach, My God Lectro, did you get Mary to talk about acid on your track? My lord, has she changed her name to Guilbeaux yet? The rest of the track is too hot to trot, another favourite of mine, the chopped up melody and broken beats take over and make me to jump around. The voices in the back are a great addition. Lektro’s strong focus on breaks, nice use of builds and jump inducing fast paced changes have been mixed into a deeper style of trance. While at any point he could have brought parts of his track into stronger focus, what we get instead is balanced deep listening journey. I agree with the label when they say “...putting the listener into a unique state of deep trance led by trademark LSD melodies and pulsating drum-kicks…”. I enjoyed all tracks and loved three. I think Lectro has real talent, the album isn’t crawling with influence from other artists which tells me this amigo has his shit together. The work also shows that Neogoa is willing to release something a little bit different and unique. That being said I think the album could have gone a different direction into masterpiece territory, it’s art no doubt, good art too. Random snippets of sound, good melodies and awesome changing flow, more focus could have gone into bringing out some of the ‘bigger’ sounds, This may have taken away from the deep trance state induced rhythm of LSD, but it could have paid off big as well. Don’t get me wrong, the work is incredible and i was happy to purchase it, but i feel LSD has the potential to release the Magnum Opus. I read somewhere that what really separates the great originals from the rest is sheer volume of work. From art to engineering, more albums means more greats. If you catch my drift. https://neogoarecords.bandcamp.com/album/infinitely-intricate-unfolding-kaleidoscope
  24. Artist: VA Title: Dimensional Gateway 5 Label: Neogoa Records Date: December 2017 Tracklist:- 01 - Sun Sith - Arrival 02 - BlackStarrFinale - The Scattering 03 - Lectro Spektral Daze - I Ate Seven Of Them 04 - Xamanist - Star Forming Galaxy 05 - Maan - Field Quanta 06 - Third Eye Channel - Katarza 07 - Proxeeus - Nyarlathotep [Short Mix] 08 - Dragon Twins - Shattered Sense 09 - Negan - Wäwära Well wowie, If ever a compilation could fit into the theme of 2017 (Quality over quantity) this is it. Neogoa Records have released their 5th in a series of Dimensional Gateways. Unlike the dark portals of this world, defined by stability and assurance, dimensional gateways are like tunnels bored with unstable magic that can lead to bliss, new worlds or eternal imprisonment. One thing is for sure, the gateways will always be a journey. As a newbie to the genre it would be foolish of me to say something like ‘This has been quite the year for Goa’ But i’m young and foolish so. This has been quite the year for Goa. We’ve seen some pretty remarkable releases that have been top notch in terms of either production, originality, or nostalgia. While the review section for 2017 has been pretty empty most of what is here is gold. Sun Sith: … Holy shit. Sun Sith are Lunar Dawns Kristijan Ilisinovic and Sasa Precanica. Two lifelong friends who have dedicated themselves to absolutely blowing our minds with music. This has gotta be the darkest work of theirs. And i’m going to peg it as the track of the year. Blackstarfinale: Oh no, how is this melody going to work? Am i about to listen to pure aged chedder? Nope, you better not believe it. The scattering is a mix of uplifting twisted chopped and screwed bliss. Pretty freaking awesome how they work this track. Lectrop Spektral Daze: Yea you did LSD, you ate more than seven didn’t you? You ate a whole bag! Whats that? Only seven per bag? Oh well yea, you ate seven then congratulations! Some of us are too busy studying to just go and eat shrooms in Mexico. Great track, if you like drug references in your songs you’ll like this. Also if you like good songs, well this is one for you my friend. Beautiful beautiful track. Xamanist - Star Forming Galaxy: Every now and then i come across a track on a comp that makes me wonder why i passed that artists album up when i came across it. Progressive trance must have been the flavour of the month when i came across 7, but I tell ya, i’m going back to right my wrongs right after this review. A banging track and another one of my favourites. Aaaaah i love rolling basslines. Maan - Field Quanta: A nice driving bit of trance that starts with subtle bits of acid getting tossed around, easy to dance to though not the most unique track floating around with not much to differentiate it from other producers. The builds are all pretty fun though. Instead of leading to explosions of hysteria they end in slightly disappointing returns to the bassline. Katarza - Third Eye Channel: A less exciting track that gets points for being trippy, though without endless amounts of energy pulsing through it. More of a floating track then an arm flail enducing stomper. Instead of keeping your attention with hard melodies Katara mixes the beat up by skipping kicks and messing around with the basslines. Dragon Twins - Shattered Sense: Some spooky throat noises (Singing? chanting?) starts our journey into what is a remarkable track. The melody is insane, but then it disappears? I could have easily had another 6 minutes of that penetrating my cranium. Man i’m bitter about that, the lead was incredible. I guess that’s how some stories go. Proxeeus - Nyarlathotep (Short mix): We are lucky it’s easier to dance to Proxeeus’ tracks than pronounce them. Everytime i try I end up with a deep and very bad Estonian accent... The track is what you would expect from this wizard, awesomeness. Edit: Holy heck Proxeeus! That final 1.5 minutes. Negan - Warawa: Whats that? Fun basslines? Negan (Did Negans lose part of himself) has got us covered. The track is madness from start to finish, the acid lines are all over the place in the best of ways. Hare Krishna would have indeed been a bad boy. And we made it out the other side. Dimensional Gateways aren't so bad are they, 5 down and we are still kicking. I'm starting to think these things are more stable than i've been told. Wizards and their bullshit friends, just like politicians. https://neogoarecords.bandcamp.com/album/dimensional-gateway-5
  25. Infinitely Intericate Unfolding Kaleidoscope is a new full lenght release by New Zealand based producer Danny Marshall and his Goa-trance act Lectro Spektral Daze. This new album comes with 8 fresh tracks as a follow up to his well-recieved Full Fractal Vision album, published on our label back in early 2016, but this time with refined sound and more vivid production, where Lectro Spektral Daze continues to explore the themes and motifs from previous records. Infinitely Intericate Unfolding Kaleidoscope is a masterful journey into the landscape of Goa sounds, but it also tickles the progressive aspect of the genre itself, putting the listener into unique state of deep trance led by trademark LSD melodies and pulsating drum-kicks as a driving force of this record. Without any doubt, Infinitely Intericate Unfolding Kaleidoscope is an evolutive Goa trance record and a new step forward in Lectro Spektral Daze rich discography. Pre-orders are now available on Bandcamp: http://bit.ly/GET-LECTRO Tracklist: 01 - Experiences And Encounters (138 BPM) 02 - Acid Feel (138 BPM) 03 - Observing From All Around (138 BPM) 04 - Matter Into Energy (138 BPM) 05 - Seen Something (138 BPM) 06 - Thoughts They Look Like Flames (138 BPM) 07 - Yellow And Green And Blue Patterns (138 BPM) 08 - Wave After Wave (138 BPM) All tracks written and produced by Danny Marshall Release date: February 23, 2018 Photography, artwork design and concept by Richpa Mastering by Igor Čeranić at Deimos Soundlabs Preview full track 'Matter Into Energy' over at YouTube and subscribe to Neogoa Records channel:
